Recording Radio on my iPod

I know there are a number of accessories that allow me to listen to radio on my iPod. But can i record radio too??
thanks

I have never heard of any accesories that will do this. I've heard of a couple (e.g. Griffin Shark) that will record to your computer.

  • Radio programmes onto ipod - track splitting?

I regularly record radio programmes digitally and put them in mp3 format and listen in the car. I usuallt split the programmes into 15 minute segments (or more - sometimes 30 minute). My ipod mini failed recently, and I thought perhaps it was to do with having so many 15min+ tracks on. I remember reading somewhere that the disc can fail if there are too many large files. Can anyone suggest a way of transferring a large mp3 file into manageable segments so it can be listened to on my ipod mini? We aren't talking about podcasts here either - just normal radio shows that have been recorded

Most iPods have a 32MB buffer for the OS & actual audio playback. If your files are no larger than 25-28MB each, then you won't stress the system. A mini, or other flash memory based iPod may not even have that constraint since no spinning disk drive is involved in the process.

  • I was listening to pandora radio and my ipod touch jus turned off and went in to recovery mode and has the picture saying i need to plug it into itunes but it wont let me restore it?

Try kicking it out of recovery mode with RecBoot. If that does not work, restore it.

  • How can I listen to the local radio on my ipod when not on wifi?

I used to have an ipod nano and was able to listen to local stations on the radio without being connected to wifi and now I have an ipod touch and no longer have that option.  Is there anyway that I can listen to the local radio stations on my ipod touch without being connected to wifi.  I know there is an adapter that I can get to plug into my car to listen to the radio on my ipod but I have a radio in my car so that defeats the purpose.
If anyone knows a solution please let me know.

do they have an adapter that doesn't require that it be plugged into the car, just the phone.  Also if they do what is it called and where can I get one.

Try another wifi network. If it still doesn't work, try #2 and #3 in link below. If neither work, you most likely have a hardware issue.

  • Can I get radio on my iPod classic? If so how do I do it? I play it from iTunes but don't knwo how to load it to my iPod.

Can I get radio on my iPod Classic. It is 80GB. I play iTunes radio and really like some of the stations but can't figure out how to get it on my iPod.

Alas, the Classic doesn't support radio. The basic classic can only play stored audio files. iTunes plays radio by streaming it over the network.

  • Can i the radio on my ipod classic?

can i use the radio on my ipod classic???

Yes, but since there is no radio built in to the device itself, you'll need to purchase a compatible third party accessory that adds this functionality.
You can find such devices on eBay or Amazon.

i'm a novice..if i downloaded a free siriusxm radio app for ipod touch, are there any charges i.e. data etc.? or is it free

You have to have the special SiriusXM account for listening and you must have a regular SiriusXM subscription. Cost is around $15.00 per month. The Live365 app only requires a $7.95 per month subscription and provides much more than SiriusXM.

  • How to download radio documentaries to ipod through computer.

how do i download radio documentaries to ipod through computer. when i look at the doc site it has i tunes next to each documentary.thank you.

I have to admit, both RTÉ and iTunes now make this a long-drawn-out procedure. However...

If you mean http://www.rte.ie/radio1/doconone/ - then presumably you clicked on this:
which took you to this page: http://www.rte.ie/radio1/podcast/podcast_documentaryonone.xml .
On that page, at the very bottom, is a section titled How to get this Podcast. Copy the Podcast URL (starting http://) and then in your iTunes, use CTRL+B to display the top menu bar. On that, click on File/Subscribe to Podcast and paste the URL into the box. That should subscribe you to their Podcast, despite being a longer process than it needs to be.
If you are referring to another site, the procedure is still (basically) the same: find the Podcast's URL and paste it into the iTunes Subscribe to Podcast box. An efficient site will actually open iTunes to the "are you sure you want to subscribe" page. Perhaps RTÉ have a bit to learn.

  • Where can I find and include the "record" radio buttons in Logic 9?

Ok, I feel like a real dummy but for some reason when I installed the Logic 9 upgrade (upgraded from Logic 8) all the "record" radio buttons on the audio channel strips were missing. (They are there on the instrument channel strips.) Can anyone tell me how to get them back? I checked all the preferences I could find but somehow I'm not finding the one that will get me back my "record" radio buttons.
    Help!
    Mark

They should be there on both. Only frozen SI tracks loose theirs (obviously), but my question earlier is irrelevant: even with no input selected there still ought to be a record button on the track header.
OP: have you looked at the configuration of the track header? ctrl-click in it to find out.

  • Device to run radio off older ipod

I want to run fm radio to my ipod classic.   If memory serves me right, wasn't there a plugin device that was an fm receiver that plugged into the input.
Has anyone hered of such a thing.  Thanks nelson-

There is no input on an iPod Classic.
There is an FM transmitter, that can be plugged into an iPod, which takes the output from the iPod, and transmits it on FM radio, so that you can pick it up on you car radio's FM receiver. It's one way of playing the iPod's music through the car stereo.

The ipod has bluetooth, wifi, AND FM.

  • How come apple doesnt add a radio to the ipod touch like and ipod nano

Apple should add a radio app to the ipod touch just like they did to the ipod nano. It doesnt have to be am/fm it could just be and fm radio like the ipod nano. If they were to add that feature they should add it to the next ipod touch update.

Apple does not announce why it does, or does not do, many things like that and it is against the terms of this forum to speculate on such things.  To make a recommendation to Apple see:
