Recording rewire objects in Logic 7

Ok, I finally got Reason to play through an Aux track in Logic, awesome. Now the next question...how do you "RECORD" the audio signal? My Aux tracks don't give me an arming button, so how do you record it?? Any help would be much appreciated...

You don't have to record rewire tracks.
It's like having a mixer: Reason audio goes into Logic mixer.
When you bounce you will find in the mix Reason audio too.
If you want to manage all the Reason parts in Logic then you'll have to Export to audio in Reason and then import the audio files in Logic.

Rewire Objects missing in Logic 7.2 Intel Mac!?

So I was all excited about the new stereo Rewire functionality, BUT when I went to try it out, there were no Rewire objects visible in my Channel menu of my Object Parameter box.
Has this happened to anybody else? Am I doing something wrong??

Thanks for the tip. Exact same issue. I poked around Logic for half an hour before I realized something was just plain missing. Many differences on intel Macs. Might be good to have a site dedicated to avoiding these pitfalls.

Help with rewiring Reason into Logic?

IM trying to rewire Reason into logic. When i insert a midi file into a channel and hit play reason will NOT play the midi and make sound.
Is there anything im missing?

All midi needs to be routed through Logic. Don't use the preferences in Reason to get midi to it by 'sidetracking' Logic.
All midi goes into the Master (Logic) and then goes to to the rewire slave.
Make sure you understand the signal path.
"SIDENOTE on Reason's 'BUS' system for internal rewire objects
Bus1: addresses the currently selected device in Reason (i.e., the little keyboard icon in Reason's sequencer is not grayed out)
Bus2-5: Uses Reason midi Bus A-D
Bus6 (and up): starting at the first device and goes till the 16th device in Reason's Rack. So in your Reason rack Bus6 can access device # (1-16), Bus7 can access device # (17-32), etc...
Bus6 is sometimes the most useful, but realize that you can run out of devices and then you need to go to Bus7 to access more devices in your Reason rack. "
That tells you everything you need to know. If you understand how the Environment in Logic works, you shouldn't have any issues setting up Reason as a Rewire Slave.

Recording Reason 4 in Logic

I want to record reason tracks in logic. I rewire reason fine, set it to stereo LR, bus 1 output, and then bus input to 1 but when it record I only see a line no sound waves. Then when I close reason and play the sound I just recorded it doesn't play anything.

Can you hear the track you're trying to record?
The way I do it (if I'm just trying to dump the whole Reason song to a stereo file) is to add an aux and set the input to Reason L/R and the output to Bus 1. Then open an audio track and set in the input to Bus 1. Record enable and press play. I check to see that I'm getting levels to the audio track and then hit record. It looks like you are doing the same process.

I am confused:Please clarify for me.
In the post title you say you want to go to an ADAT.
In the post itself you say you want to go to a DAT.
They are different machines.
So,Questions for you:
1.Does your rosetta800 have ADAT optical outputs? If YES,then you can go to ADAT.If NO,then you cannot go to ADAT.
2.Does your rosetta800 have SPDIF or AES outputs? If YES,then you can go to DAT.If NO,then you cannot go to DAT.
At the risk of sounding slightly mauve with shades of red,please,RTFM of the rosetta800.

Problem extending standard ViewReceiptsSearchVO view object with logic on get method

I am trying to extend the 3 VOs related to ViewReceiptsSearch. I extended a seeded ViewReceiptsSearchVO view object. I haven't made any changes yet, no columns added, nothing altered. When I run this substitution, the "Received" column is null. This column in the view used for the view object only selects NULL and uses the getter method for the attribute to populate the value. The generated extension getter calls getAttributeInternal and skips the logic in the standard getter and the substituted view object is displaying the null in the screen. The below discussion explains the problem very well except that the original posted had the issue in 11.5.10.2. I am having this issue with 12.1.3.

Alas, poor Logic, I knew him well.
Recording wise, It will be much the same as Garageband but you will need to read manuals as Logic doesn't set things up for you. You must choose input and output devices, create the correct tracks. Logic was designed for professional use so it expects users to be somewhat familiar with recording/editing techniques, in other words, won't hold your hand or be nearly as easy to use.

I have a m-audio producer usb microphone and since the update on Dec. 22, 2013 Logic hasn't been allowing me to record with it. Logic is reading the microphone as the input but the audio tracks don't have the record enable button. What's wrong?

Certain M-Audio USB devices (along with some other USB2 class compliant devices that don't use drivers) no longer work with Logic Pro X 10.0.5
At this time it is unknown as to why this has happened. Nor is it known if Apple will need to fix it or if it is up to the Developers of said USB2 devices to remedy the problem.
In the mean time, assuming you made/could make backups prior to updating to 10.0.5.... the solution is to roll back to LPX 10.0.4...

Procedures calls other procedures and passing parameters IN OUT defined that PL/SQL Types. The problem appears when the access is through Java. Java can't read PL/SQL Types because only read SQL Types (Types defined in SCHEMA):

Recording mpc 1000 onto logic through tascam fw-1082

i have my midi cable plugged into midi out a on my mpc......leading to midi in 1 on tascam....logic reads my tascam....what i need to know now is how to record my mpc onto logic....i'm not exactly sure the best way to word what im looking for so ask me where you get confused and i will explain to the best of my ability

Rewire Mainstage into Logic Pro / internal soundcard

Hey there, Logic Users!
I noticed that some of the Mainstage sounds are not too shabby and I would like them to load into Logic Pro.
Since my external soundcard is pretty much fried, I wanted to know if there's a way to rewire Mainstage into Logic Pro using the internal soundcard that the iMac provides?

Mainstage and Logic share exactly the same plugins, channel strip settings and the like (with the notable exceptions of Playback and Loopback, which are only available in Mainstage).
There should be no need to attempt to hook up Mainstage to Logic simplly to load any sounds into Logic. Save the plugin presets or channel strips in Mainstage, and then Load them in Logic.

With the rewire slave running, create an aux track in Logic. You should see rewire as an option for the inputs of the aux track.

Recording ReWired Audio

I've ReWired audio into 4 aux objects and I want to record the audio into 4 tracks. I think I need to route everything into 4 audio channels. I've tried various configurations of input and and output settings, but so far nothing seems to work.

to understand how Logic Mixer work... you just think to a real Analog Mixer... with more than 500 Channels and all routing are the same as you can find in a real Analog Recording Studio!

Can I record vocals directly into Logic Pro X with my Tascam DR 680?

I'm connecting via the USB port on the Tascam. I opened up my "Devices" list under "Preferences" in Logic but it doesn't seem to be registering. I thought there might be a driver out there or some other way to make this work.
If anybody has any suggestions I will be greatly in your debt.

Hi Jos, you can't interface the Tascam DR 680 like that (USB) to the Mac I think. It's not an audio interface but a more ore less dedicated stand alone recording/playback unit. You could try importing the audio data into Logic, but as far as direct recording via usb goes….. I don't think so.
A rather clumsy way to achieve your objective, if you must, would be a signal flow like that:
mic -> Tascam DR 680 -> Tascam OUT (digital/analog) -> audio interface / mac (digital/analog) IN -> rec in Logic
