Recording Software continues to look for Audigy after Audigy is disab

I disabled Soundblaster in the Window XP Pro configuration I use for recording, yet when I open Sonar I get two error messages, both of which say "There are no Creative audio products installed and running on the system that support ASIO". The drivers don't appear in the audio configuration dialogue in Sonar.
I installed a MOTU Traveler, and want to use this for recording. Unfortunately, if I have Soundblaster enabled, the MOTU drivers are all grayed out in Sonar, and the MOTU unit is unusable.
According to the Sonar tech support this is not a Sonar problem but a Soundblaster problem, and the only way he knows of solving it is to uninstall the SB drivers. I'd rather not have to uninstall them, but would like to keep them installed but disabled in case I want to use the SB for something in the future.
Anybody have any solutions?
Thanks in advance.

In Sonar Options->Audio->Drivers -tab, unselect all Audigy I/O drivers first to get the MOTU drivers selectable ... then select the MOTU ones.

    iPhone5 won't stop looking for wifi network after successful connection. Told by tier2 support it is software issue. Complete reset didn't work
    Thanks

    You do have to unmount any Network Drives when/before moving to another location.
    I'm thinking the APPs that don't work right have some pref on the non-existing network drive/cpu, for instance, if they automatically open the last doc used.

  • Passing cursor record values to procedures - looking for advice

    I frequently use cursors in my programs and need to pass the values from said cursor around in the program to other procedures/functions.  I am looking for advice on the best or recommended way of doing this.
    Currently the majority of my programs do something like this:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY some_pkg AS
         CURSOR some_cursor IS
              SELECT t.col1,
                               t.col2,
                              t.col3,
                   FROM some_table t;
    PROCEDURE sub_proc
         (p_cursor               IN      some_cursor%ROWTYPE)
    IS
    BEGIN
         dbms_output.put_line(p_cursor.col1);
    END sub_proc;
    PROCEDURE main_process
    IS
         l_cursor          some_cursor%ROWTYPE;
    BEGIN
         FOR l_cursor IN some_cursor LOOP
              sub_proc(l_cursor);
         END LOOP;
    END main_process;
    END some_pkg;
    Basically I create the cursor as global so I can use it's %ROWTYPE as a parameter datatype in my procedures.
    I understand there are other options such as using a defined record type, or ref cursors, but I'm not totally clear on how ref cursors would help me, I don't really understand them well.
    Can anyone provide some feedback on how I currently handle this situation vs. the alternatives?
    Thanks

    I am not sure what you need to do.
    You can base records on cursors or tables using the %ROWTYPE operator.
    Cursors can be defined in the package header and used elsewhere by using normal cursor functionality (untesed)
    create or replace package my_package as
      cursor my_cursor is
        select *
          from dual;
      my_procedure;
    end my_package;
    create or replace package body my_package as
      procedure my_procedure is
      my_record my_package.my_cursor%rowtype;
      begin
        for r in my_package.my_cursor loop
          my_record := r;
        end;
      end my_procedure;
    end my_package;
      This can allow you to define the cursor in one place and reference it elsewhere.
    Reference cursors are pointers to result sets.  They reference actual datasets and can be passed between routines if defined in package headers.  There is a little more overhead using reference cursors but they support dynamic sql if needed (it usually isn't). and you MUST carefully coordinate FETCH commands to receive the values the cursor is selecting (this is harder than it looks)(untested)
    create or replace package my_package as
      type my_refcur_type is sys_refcursor;
      my_procedure;
    end my_package;
    create or replace package body my_package as
      procedure my_procedure(p_refcur out my_package.my_refcur_type) is
      begin
        open p_refcur for 'select * from dual';
    end my_package;
    --elsewhere
    my_package.my_procedure(my_cursor);
    fetch my_cursor into v_dummy;
    Hope this helps

  • Software Update not looking for updates

    I have software update enabled to check daily for any updates, I logged in yesterday and today, knowing that updates were available, however my iMac did not seem to be looking for any updates. I manually checked and updates were available on both days. Is this an OS X problem, or does it take a while for OS X to check for updates once logged in.. The only change that has occurred in the past week has been a 50% speed reduction in my broadband service. Current speed around 2.5MB.
    Regards Craig

    I just got my MacBook Pro and ran Software Update first thing. It said I was all up to date. I then downloaded iWork '08. When I tried to install iWork it said I needed OS X 10.4.10. I checked my about mac and sure enough I am running 10.4.9. My Quicktime is also 7.1.5. Why would software update tell me I'm all up to date if I have this older software on my computer. This thing has only been out of the box a few hours and I have installed exactly nothing on it. Anyone have any ideas?

    Boot in safe mode.
    Log in and see whether you still have the problem. If you don't, it's caused by one of your login items or a system modification that loads at startup or login.
    If the problem isn't resolved that way, other possible causes are references in the iPhoto, iTunes, or iMovie library pointing to the server, and bookmarks in the Preview application

  • What software am I looking for?

    Hello all, first time posting here.
    I have some very specific needs when it comes to organizing and using my videos and I'm having a hard time trying to learn the basics of video making AND finding a software that is simple to use and does the job.
    Basically I need a software (or more than one?) that does the following:
    - Copies segments of DVD movies (not necessairly chapters) - allowing me to specify starting and ending time. I need it to copy the segment with subtitles, if possible. (I'm an ESL teacher in Brazil and I use my powerbook in class, but nothing is more annoying than having to carry my DVDs, go through thousands of menus and still have to forward to a specific scene to show my students)
    - Allows me to put these segments that I've extracted into one single file
    - Convert files to a format that most DVD players can read (the ones at my school seem to struggle with MPG4 - I use EasyWMV)
    My Powerbook does not have a DVD burner, bad decision making when I bought it...
    Can anyone suggest any software?
    Cheers,
    Lily

  • Dreamweaver CC continues to look for Photoshop CS5

    I upgraded from CS5 to CC and I know now stupidly did not uninstall CS5 first.
    I am running Mavericks (Mac OSX 10.9.1)
    My issue is that while using Dreamweaver CC I try to edit a jpeg using the edit tool on the properties panel. At first the tool tried and succeeded to open the image in Photoshop CS5. Well I of course wanted it to open in Photoshop CC so I uninstalled Photoshop CS5 thinking that I could repoint it to the newer version. (Ha!)
    I have tried the following to correct the issue.
    I opened a jpeg file and used the get info function to open with Photoshop CC.
    I uninstalled and reinstalled dreamweaver CC.
    I know some people on windows have hacked the registry to fix... no clue how to do that on a mac.
    Help greatly appreciated.

    I have found my solution.

  • Recording Software for WVC210G ip camera

    Hi all,
    I have an issue with finding the Camera  Recording software.
    we purchased the ip camera WVC210G and was searching  for the Camera Recording software 'L-VM300-04'  for viewing 4 Cameras.
    But from Cisco and Distributor we came to know that the product has the EOL(End of Life)
    So it would be great if anybody can  suggest the equivalent software for the same
    Regards,
    Sooraj

    Hi Sooraj,
    Thank you for posting. The Video Monitoring Software is developed by Nuuo: http://www.nuuo.com/
    I believe that they have a similar product to L-VM300-04 and you can license the software from them if you can no longer obtain a license for the Cisco product.

  • Video recording software for Logitech camera

    Hello,
    I want to know if I can attach my Logitech camera to my PowerBook G4 to RECORD surveillance video.
    Is my old laptop compatible with Logitech? (I presently have this camera connected to my MINI drive for skype).
    If it is compatible, would you recomend a video recording software, I can use for my G4?
    Please let me know if surveillance video recording is possible using my powerbook!
    Thanks!
    martha

    The only software that I know of which will work with 10.3 is Debut Video Capture for Mac or EchoFX
    I believe they are paid versions, but do come with a trial version. There is nothing I've seen on the Open Source market for video capture.
    There is a link here on how to use  Quick time broadcaster, that you could adapt it to record security footage I'm sure.

  • Microsoft Lync 2010 continuously asks for credentials after signing in

    Hi,
    we have lync 2010 frontend server at our office, it is working fine for the all the users, but one user who will connect our network through VPN it will continuously prompts for credentials eventhough if we are providing right credentials, because of this
    user will be not able to recieve emails from his outlook. all other VPN users working fine. how to troubleshoot this issue, please any help?
    Regards
    Asha

    Hi,
    The issue may occur if the Outlook integration is not correctly on this client after connecting through VPN. What is the
    difference for the location or sign in type between this user and other working users?
    Lync generally only prompts you for credentials after you are logged in when it must connect Lync to a linked service such as the Microsoft Exchange Free/Busy service or the Calendar service.
    If Lync continues to ask for credentials after three separate dialog prompts, there is likely an issue with Outlook integration or with the Exchange services themselves. I suggest referring to the following information to check the issue.

  • Mac OS X Lion Migration Assistant "looking for other computers"

    I just installed Mac OS X Lion from Snow Leopard.  I actually did a clean install and during the setup, I attempted to use the Migration Assistant to transfer my Time Machine Backup, saved on a Time Capsule, but after selecting to transfer from my Time Machine, it shows my Time Capsule but continuously is 'looking for other computers".  The drive shows at the top and I'm able to click  continue, even while it still searches, but once I click continue, i put in my Time Capsules passowrd, it continues to search and i can no longer click continue.  It never stops searching.
    I found article how to fix this in Snow Leopard http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3253?viewlocale=en_US but the setting are different in the Security tab in the Preferences.  There is no 'Allow all incoming computers'.  I have tried both with firewall on and off and neither way works.
    Let me know if you have a fix for this, as I have 250 gbs waiting on my Time Capsule to be imported.
    Thanks,

    SImilar problem here, migrating from an old MacBook Air to a new one (directly, not via backup).
    During the new Mac's initial setup, I followed all the steps properly as instructed (and made sure the original machine's Firewall was off). I tried both my main WiFi network and an ad hoc network, with Internet Sharing. (Ad hoc proved VERY finnicky to even get a connection. Miserable--it would work or it wouldn't, and I had no power over it: it would fail on the same config where it would succeed. A shame, because ad hoc would be the ideal, low-interference way to get the fastest WiFi transfer. And it's a method Apple's support site even suggests.)
    No matter what I did, both machines just stuck at "Looking for other computers" forever. I spent hours trying to get it to work. I wasn't going to buy an ethernet adapter, nor a new external HD (with some third-party backup software as a workaround) just so I could power on my new Mac and have my stuff on it.
    Eventually I gave up, installed without migrating, and then ran Migration Assistant after the fact. That DID connect OK (took about 1 hour per 10 GB and was done by morning).
    But doing it that way was a mess: there was NO warning when I did the initial setup that I should not use my own name as the main account if I planned to migrate later. Who knew? I couldn't migrate after the fact because I had the same name on both machines. Well.... of course! Don't most people keep the same name? It's as though you're not expected to ever buy another Mac unless you're a newlywed woman. (None of which would be an issue if migration would happen during initial setup as it should.)
    So I had to create a superfluous extra account with admin privileges, run Migration Assistant from there, replace the redundantly-named new account, and then find and delete the redundant account where it was stashed during migration. Lastly, I deleted the superfluous admin account as well. THREE accounts needed to be involved, for a process ANY Mac-to-Mac buyer will face. There was nothing special about my migration.
    I don't think most users could even figure out all these steps.
    A loyal Air user buying a new Air should not be such an incredible hassle. It "just doesn't work."
