Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Strange...has this problem always existed? If not, what happened just before it started...and OS update perhaps? What OS level are you on? When did you last reboot ("normal" or battery pull)?

I can set a music track to be my default ring-tone.
How can I select a music track to be the ring-tone for particular contacts?
How do I include my stored music in the list of available ring-tones?

-to set a ring for a contact: select contact of choice>open:so you can view contact's info>options>ringing tone.
-stored music is in the list of ringtones. if you select profiles>personalize>ringing tone. all songs are available to choose from.
    everything happens for a reason

  • Using my ipod tunes for ring tones

I have just purchased a iphone 3g and have transferred my tracks over to it no problem. I cannot seem to find out how to set one up in my iphone to use as a ring-tone i have tried all settings but cannot find out how to do it.

You cannot select them from the music on the iPhone. You must first make them ringtones (less than 40 seconds, saved as .m4r files), have them in the Ringtones section of your iTunes library, and sync them to the iPhone.

Note that ringtones can be purchased from the iTunes Music Store, but only in the USA (due to record label licensing restrictions).

  • Music for ring tones

is there a way that i can use songs from my iTunes as ring tones?

I have been usingiRingtones with good success for years.View in Mac App Store

  • Which apps are good ones for ring tones?

I am looking for a good app that has some good ring tones already made up so I don't have to make my own up. I guess I don't want to take the time to make my own up.

RMakerPro is a good one... it requires you to make your own, but you can make ringtones out of songs you already have in your iTunes library or Voice Memos.
If you don't want to make your own I would just download them from the iTunes Store.

  • I up graded to the iphone 5 now non of my paid for ring tons show up

non of the ringn tones that i paid for moved over to my iphone 5 when i did the back up and there not in my I tune any longer

Ringtones are non-transferable, unfortunately, and unable to save in a back up. You must re-purchase on new iPhone.

  • No sounds in ring tone .. why?

Suddenly my Iphone 4S's ringtone  stopped working. I reseted the phone, explored different alternatives, on -off volumes, changing ringtones, etc, nothing has worked so far.. any ideas how can I fix it?

Thanks for the suggestion, but no, I had no rules set up.  However, on the advice of a post I saw in another forum, I restarted my Macbook, and magically, the sounds are back.
    Thanks again for your assistance!

  • Solution for Ring Tones not playing on OS 5 (Rogers Wireless users)

    Hello,
Updated my 8900 to the newest OS yesterday. Immediately had an issue with the phone not ringing during calls, etc. as noted in a number of other threads.
The problem was immediately resolved when I changed the Theme to Rogers Precision from the default RIM Precision.
    Thanks.

This has been an issue in OS 5.0.0.822.  Is that the version you're using?
And you've had no more of this issue at all after switching themes?

  • Is there a quick way to search for ring-tone eligible music in UK on itunes

I have an iphone and wanted to see what was available to create a ringtone, but can't seem to find anything that has the ringtone logo next to it. Is there a way to search on this basis?

Ringtones are a US only feature at current

  • I get no ringing sound for incoming calls

I spent an hour with a Skype tech and they can't fix it.  Ever since I upgraded, I have all the usual sound EXCEPT the most important one - the ringing of an incoming call. Does anybody else have this problem?  Were you able to fix it? Rick

Start simply. Check the mute button is not enabled, then check Settings > Sounds to be sure the volume is turned up for ring tones.

  • Basic Ring Tones on iPhone are Very Poor

As a business professional I am very pleased to pull out my iPhone and show it to other business associates. However, I am extremly dissapointed in the childish assortment of ridiculous ring tone options that are offered on this phone. I understand that a ringtone program was just released yesterday allowing you to create ring tones from iTunes music files.
I don't want my phone playing songs as ring tones while I am trying to conduct a professional business meeting. When will Apple PLEASE allow us to have simple digital phone style ring tones for use on this very fine business tool. I will gladly pay for these ringtones but please remember not all of us want songs for ring tones!!!
Listen to the phones in your offices or check out the ring tone from the phones on the TV show 24. We just want a clean digital sound option for the iPhone.
    HELP PLEASE,

...and your question for the support forum is what?

  • Ring tones visible, but only one selectable

I made some custom ringtones using the Ringtones app.  These did not appear when selecting Sounds::Ringtone
or individual contacts, so I transferred them to itunes and then dropped them onto my iphone.  (I tested them
on the mac:  The icons say "RING" and are playable.)  They appear in itunes under DEVICES::my iphone::Ringtones
(and of course in Ringtones app).  So it looks like they are in the phone.  ONE of them appears under Custom when
I select sounds, or ring tones for a contact.
Seems odd that they appear to be on the device, but only one shows up for selection.

  • Where is the ring tone tab in itunes

I followed some instruction on creating a song clip, saving it, creating it as m4r in the finder window, but when clicking on it in the finder window as directed, it is not detected as a ring tone in itunes.  In fact I do not see a listing for ring tones on the itunes margin list.  How do I make an itunes song a ring tone?  Thank you.
