Recording stops automatically

When I record the recording stops automatically and the
dialog-window ask me where to save the file.
It's randomly, sometimes I can record 20 s before it stops
but sometimes it stops after just a few seconds.
When I save the file and try to add more recording I can just
record 1-2 seconds before it stops.
I have a registered version of Captivate 3 and work on a PC
with Windows XP Service Pack 2.
Is this a known problem, or is there someone that can help me
to solve this anoying problem?
/Jimmy

Hi Jimmy
Really it could be almost anything. Low Computer RAM, the
method in which you are recording, low disk space, Operating
System, SunSpots...
Figuring out how to work past it will likely involve much
trial and error (and sometimes gnashing of teeth)
You said XP SP2? I'm guessing that's 32 bit and not 64,
right? (I know Captivate doesn't play well on 64 bit systems)
Even though you don't believe you are tapping the End key it
may be worthwhile to try configuring a different key and testing
just to see. Perhaps some action of the application is generating
the code sensed by Captivate as End.
How are you recording? Typical screen capture mode or full
motion for all (ick). If it's full motion for all does anything
change if you switch to screen capture mode?
That's about all I can think of for the moment. Sure as I
click the Reply button I'm sure another one or two things I
*SHOULD* have asked will immediately pop into my pea sized brain.
Cheers... Rick

  • Why does recording stop automatically?

I'm using Logic Express 8.0.2 on Mac OSX 10.6.8.
I'm recording just 1 track of audio.  I have "Audio 1" (the only track aside from the master track) set up with compression as the only plug-in, and the mute "M" and record "R" buttons selected.  When I hit record, it starts recording, and at first everything is fine.  However, as some point (I can't figure out any way to predict when) it automatically stops recording.  It basically goes into playback mode so that the playback bar is still moving, but nothing is being recorded.  I can click the record button (the circle) at the bottom, and recording will start again.
How can I prevent this from happening?  Is there a setting that makes the recording stop at some point?  And if so, how can I change that?

  • T4i Rebel error message "movie recording has stopped automatically"

I was recording my client when suddenly I got a this error message "movie recording has stopped automatically" and I could not record video anymore. I am recording on a class 10 sandisk Ultra card. 720/60, EFS18-135mm lens. Never had any problems in the past. First I get a small veterical meter on the frame and then after 5 secs the recording stops with this error message. Please tell me it is opeartor error...I have had this camera for 2 years now and never had a problem. I tried multiple cards.
    thanks for the help,
    DM

Either you or the person you spoke to at Canon was confused.
What the camera requires for video purposes is a card which is "at least" Class 6 or faster.  The class designation is an indicator of the cards data transfer speed.  Class 6 actually means the card is capable of transfering data (either reading or writing) at "at least" 6 megabytes per second.  A Class 10 card can transfer data at "at least" 10 megabytes per second.
The T4i is also compatible with "UHS-1" cards... which are significantly faster than eithe Class 6 or 10.
The reason for requiring "at least" Class 6 has to do with how fast the camera is attempting to capture and save frames of video to the card.  The camera actually has an internal memory buffer which is very fast.  When you start recording, the data is being saved to that buffer... and simultaneously the camera also starts taking the data from the buffer and saving it to the memory card (which is slower).  If the camera is recording video only slightly faster than the card can record, then it will actually take a few minutes before the buffer is completely filled.  But at that point the camera has no choice but to stop recording because it has absolutely no place to save data ... the internal buffer is full and it can't empty the buffer because the memory card can't save data as fast as new frames of video are coming in.
    Faster is always better.
Memory cards do actually wear out and develop errors over time.  This is normal.  A good card will re-map the bad blocks so they aren't used anymore... and this is why you should do a low-level format IN CAMERA (not using the computer).  Good cards also have a "memory leveling" technology to try to use all the blocks roughly an equal number amount.   This extends the userful life of the card.
When replacing the card, do not skimp on quality!  I cannot emphasize that point enough.  Most times when someone brings up this issue... it's the card that is having problems and not the camera.
It's easy to produce forgery cards which look like a good brand but are not.  Buy GOOD cards from REPUTABLE dealers.  Do not shop for the cheapest website on the Internet with a questionable reputation in order to save a couple of bucks.
Lexar brand and SanDisk brand are good.
When buying memory cards, I only buy cards from Lexar and SanDisk.  I also buy their highest end cards (by speed performance... not necessarily their biggest capactiy cards).  I buy the cards from dealers with a solid reputation.  This avoids the unpleasant error messages which always seem to happen at the worst possible time.

  • "Movie recording has been stopped automatically"

Recently, using my 60D in very cold Wisconsin weather, I've had the message "movie recording has been stopped automatically."  I've used my 60D in all kinds of temps but recently in Wisconsin the overnight temps are getting into the the minus single digits so when I go out to shoot homes in the early am it is cold.  I am using a SanDisk Ultra 16G 30mb/s 10.  It seems that once the camera "warms" up a bit, it shoots fine and I don't get the message.  This happens when I come in from the cold outdoors and begin shooting inside.  I've had no issues with the pictures, just the video portion.  Any ideas? Condensation perhaps?

60D operating temperatures according to two WEB sources is 32F to 104F.  I suggest a camera overcoat or some way to keep the camera in that temperature bracket when shooting.  I hope the cold temps break for you soon.

  • T3i 'movie recording has automatically stopped' and other ongoing and 'new' problems.

I purchased a T3i in March of 2011 and within a year of purchase we started experiencing problems.
Firstly - I purchased a three year Mack Warranty with this camera.
By June of 2012, the 'movie recording has automatically stopped' problem was no longer our only issue. That month we lost a whole production day of video. There was no explanation. It was on the same card that we had used before and we sued it after. It was not a particularly hot shoot because we were inside and out frequently. All footage from that day was gone from the camera. I ran a recovery on the files; they were present, but they were unrecoverable. When this happened again a couple of weeks later, we threw away the card that it happened on and on the third event, We were using speed 10 cards only.
On August 31st, I sent our T3i in to Mack who looked at it, couldn't duplicate the problem (movie recording auto stopped, much less data loss) and they got it ready to send back. I spoke with Mack support and got a supervisor to look more closely with a technician at the problem (I had sent a very detailed description of the problem) based on my description and a technician paying attention, they were able to duplicate the problem but not fix it. They sent it to Canon. Canon duplicated the problem and 'fixed' it. It was then sent back to Mack because they won't send directly to Mack's customer. Mack sent it back. I received it sometime after October 23rd. Note - that's no camera from 8/31 to 10/23 + a couple of days shipping. Nearly two solid months.
'Movie recording automatically stopped' would not go away but we were not losing footage. I called Canon. Canon support told me that it could be a card speed issue and if not that, maybe a bad make or brand. They said that this is a problem with DSLR's or maybe rebels specifically and we would need to learn to deal with it - something about data capture and data block sizes. The problem is that when you're shooting a scene, it's not always just 'incidental' if you have to start over because of an error, is it? And is this how Canon's products are to work, really?
In December, a white dot appeared on our sensor. We sent it in on Jan 10 and got it back sometime after Jan. 31st. Movie Recording Automatically Stopped is still occurring. It comes and goes. :Lately it's been infrequent.
A little while ago I pulled the camera out to take some snapshots of a system I'm working on. No matter which mode, autofocus on, with the flash up, attempting to get an autofocus (depressing snapshot button 1/2 way) I get this strange electric sound and a flash. Autofocus will not engage. Again - no matter which mode - no autofocus, a strange electric sound and a flash. Movie recording works fine. But that's not the only capability of this camera, is it?
Canon - it is apparent to me that we got a lemon. This will not work for my business any longer. Trying to get problems solved with this camera has been lengthy, disconcerting, painful. My disappointment has me throwing in the towel and asking - why the heck would I buy a Canon again much less the Mack warranty to go with it?
Please give me a solution beyond going for another two months without a camera that comes back and develops a new problem within one to two months’ time.

This problem has been posted online in many places & is a known and serious flaw with the T3i. How come Canon feigns ignorance & blames it on the card or file size? Why don't they post a positive solution or at least admit to the camera's shortcomings?
The Canon tech rep is being disingenuous! The problem happens on and off to a lot of people using the same card!!! It has happened to me as well with me as well. Sometimes it records to the max limit & sometimes it just stops! Doesn't Canon do research into serious errors with their cameras?
I'm sure they know of this problem & don't want to recall & fix their sh..ty camera.

  • How to make it stop automatically selecting the waveform after recording.

When I stop recording, it automatically selects the wave form in the Waveform Editor window (it turns white.) Every time I have to mouse up and deselect it. Is there a way to tell Audition not to auto select when stopping recording? I could nto find a preference for this.

It's because you have a syntax error in your "correct" examples. There should be another closing parenthesis before the opening curly brace:
    <?php
    if(isset($_POST['car'])) {
The deep indentation is a bug that affects the layout of jQuery functions, and it will hopefully be fixed in the next version of Dreamweaver. In your case, it's unintentionally alerting you to a mistake in your PHP code.

  • 70d - movie recording has been stopped automatically

I just purchased a new Canon 70D...once I start recording, it records for a few seconds...small boxes appear on the upper right side of the display screen and then it shuts down and says "Movie recording has been stopped automatically"...is this due to a setting or something? I have been using a 7D for a number of years and this is a new issue for me...

    Hi, LmharrisonTX!
You may want to check the type of memory card you're using for this.  HD movie recording requires a fast memory card, and if yours can't keep up, it will be overwhelmed within a few seconds, causing the camera to halt recording.  We recommend using at least a "Class 10" memory card.
Please let us know what you are using.  If the card is indeed at least Class 10 and you're still having problems, we can at least eliminate that as a possibility and we can examine other factors.
We look forward to hearing from you!

  • Recording sessions stopped automatically

Last weekend I recorded several live performances of a party cover band (30 tracks, iLIVE T112 - MADI Card - RME MADIface, 24bit/48kHz). The system worked fine but all logic recording sessions stopped automatically at 01:01:40 min, so i lost always 2-3 songs in every set.
What the hack? Is there a file size restriction or something like that? What went wrong...any idea anybody? Thanx in advance...
    MBP Mid 2012 Retina, 2,6 Ghz 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD,  LogicProX 10.0.6 , OS 10.8.5

Yes, there are file size restrictions. But your file sizes would be just above 500 MB for a mono file (3700 x 3 (24 bits=3 bytes) x 48k), and 1 GB for a stereo file, both are well under the maximum for AIFF, WAV and CAF formats. Could it be that your disk got full?
AIFF: The AIFF file format cannot handle audio file recordings larger than 2 GB:
For 16-bit, 44.1 kHz stereo files, this equals a recording time of about 3 hours and 15 minutes.
For 24-bit, 96 kHz, 5.1 surround files, this equals a recording time of about 20 minutes.
WAVE (BWF): The WAVE file format cannot handle audio file recordings larger than 4 GB:
For 16-bit, 44.1 kHz stereo files, this equals a recording time of about 6 hours and 30 minutes.
For 24-bit, 96 kHz, 5.1 surround files, this equals a recording time of about 40 minutes.
CAF: If the size of your recording exceeds the above limits, choose the CAF (Apple Core Audio Format) file format, which can handle the following recording times:
About 13 hours and 30 minutes at 44.1 kHz
About 6 hours at 96 kHz
About 3 hours at 192 kHz
The bit depth and channel format—mono, stereo, or surround—do not affect the maximum recording size of CAF files.

  • While video taping, the camera says videoing stopped automatically.

I purchased my canon rebel t2i at Staples, along with a 16GB card with a 10 in the top rt corner.  When recording with my camera, it will often say videoing has stopped automatically. I also cleared everything off the card .  I had it checked today by an employee, but was not sure why that message displays.    He suggested to shut it off and start it up again as it maybe a glitch.   I love this camera, but I need to know why the camera is doing this.  Very frustrating when i am trying to get those special moments with our grandaughter, as they are only here for a short time.  I am very new to this higher classed camera.
Thankyou.  I hope you can steer me in the right direction!!

One more thing - sometimes with Canons simply deleting everything doesn't actually clear the space on the card.  You might want to try formatting it as well.

  • Recording Stops

I've read through the forums and have noticed some people
having problems with Captivate stopping while recording for no
reason. I too am suffering from this issue, but it only happens
while I a scroll bar to move up/down or side to side. It doesn't
occur every time I try to scroll while recording, but it has only
happened to me while I try to use the scroll bar. As with other
recording issues, it won't let me save after the recording stops as
well. It acts as if it is frozen. So, I'm just trying to figure out
if others out there are experiencing a similar problem and have
found a fix for it or maybe the Macromedia Team has an answer.
    Thanks!

Please describe what is happening when the recording freezes.
Are you using the automatic capture to begin a full-motion slide
during scrolling, or are you manually capturing the scrolling
    action (press F9 and F10)?
If you have it set to automatically begin full-motion, try
disabling that, and doing it manually. Let us know if that is any
    help. ;^)

There used to be a preference setting in Pages.  Now it seems gone in Pages 5.   So how do I stop automatic conversation of URLs to hyperlinks and seeing them underlined in text.  Sometimes I want it, but not always.

The preference setting to turn off links is gone. When you enter content that triggers link detection, a link character style gets applied. Right-click on the link, choose Edit Link from the menu, and then Remove.
To prevent Pages from automatically detecting links, visit Edit > Substitutions > and deselect Smart Links.

  • How can I get my iPad to play just one song from my playlist and then stop automatically?

I am a music teacher and I use the iPod on my iPad to play songs in class.  I have a long playlist of songs to choose from in each class, and I want to play just one song at a time.  I want to be able to start one song from my playlist and then walk away from my iPad and have it stop automatically when that song is over.  (I know how to make it repeat the same song over and over, but tha'ts not what I need.  I also know how to push "pause," but I don't want to have to walk away from the children to do it.) How can I make it play one song from a playlist at a time?

I don't believe that there is a way to do that except, perhaps, creating a separate Playlist for each song.
