Recording Stops
I've read through the forums and have noticed some people
having problems with Captivate stopping while recording for no
reason. I too am suffering from this issue, but it only happens
while I a scroll bar to move up/down or side to side. It doesn't
occur every time I try to scroll while recording, but it has only
happened to me while I try to use the scroll bar. As with other
recording issues, it won't let me save after the recording stops as
well. It acts as if it is frozen. So, I'm just trying to figure out
if others out there are experiencing a similar problem and have
found a fix for it or maybe the Macromedia Team has an answer.

Please describe what is happening when the recording freezes.
Are you using the automatic capture to begin a full-motion slide
during scrolling, or are you manually capturing the scrolling
action (press F9 and F10)?
If you have it set to automatically begin full-motion, try
disabling that, and doing it manually. Let us know if that is any
help. ;^)

I am trying to import video from my digital camera via firewire to quicktime...
the New movie recording screen appears and works, but after a random amount of time (normally just around 4 minutes..) the recording stops and the message appears..

I cannot import via imovie because I want to have the sound come from a different source then the movie.. i.e. Quicktime lets me get vid from DV and sound from "saffire" sound card..

I'll check out vidi. I'm not familiar with it. I've been using this same method to capture clips for several years. I pretty much set the camera once and never have to mess with it again. I don't switch the mode at all during the day. -
Record stop and domain "in recovery" status.
Hi,
We have a Sun Management Center 3.6.1 in solaris 10, it's install to monitoring the SF25K hardware, it's configure an action by sending an email, into Hardware->Platform Config Reader->Domain->Status.
Yesterday, the system generated 2 messages: "Status Domain E In Recovery".
The admin staff said to me that there was no problem with the domain.
In the alarm tab display a record stop event in that domain.When reviewing in the location where these archives are stored in the SC, there are two record stop generated in the same time to those messages were sent.
Somebody knows any troubleshooing to fix that?

Regards CRYou should ask Oracle support as you have already took their help. You should take offline backup before doing anything in this situation.
However command is not that difficult (Alter database datafile '......filename with path..' offline drop; ) but ask Oracle support before running it. -
Recording stopped mas duration for the file has been reached
Has anyone else seen this message, "Recording stopped because the maximum duration for the file has been reached" this is happening on 10.6.2 server and client all updates applied. The File from podcast capture is not saved, it just disappears We are using a Hitachi camera. Any ideas?

I've just experienced the problem myself. I'm using OS X 10.6.3 with QuickTime Player 10.0 (113), capturing audio and video over FireWire from a PAL VHS deck via a Canopus ADVC-55. I'm using the "High" setting to record in QuickTime Player.
Sometimes I'm able to capture indefinitely long amounts of video; sometimes, though, I get a "Recording stopped because the maximum duration for the file has been reached" error after capturing only a few seconds. This variability occurs not only between VHS tapes; it also can occur when using the same source VHS tape (the same parts of the tape, even!) repeatedly.
Apple, this appears to be a QuickTime bug. Please investigate and fix it! -
When I record the recording stops automatically and the
dialog-window ask me where to save the file.
It's randomly, sometimes I can record 20 s before it stops
but sometimes it stops after just a few seconds.
When I save the file and try to add more recording I can just
record 1-2 seconds before it stops.
I have a registered version of Captivate 3 and work on a PC
with Windows XP Service Pack 2.
Is this a known problem, or is there someone that can help me
to solve this anoying problem?

Really it could be almost anything. Low Computer RAM, the
method in which you are recording, low disk space, Operating
System, SunSpots...
Figuring out how to work past it will likely involve much
trial and error (and sometimes gnashing of teeth)
You said XP SP2? I'm guessing that's 32 bit and not 64,
right? (I know Captivate doesn't play well on 64 bit systems)
Even though you don't believe you are tapping the End key it
may be worthwhile to try configuring a different key and testing
just to see. Perhaps some action of the application is generating
the code sensed by Captivate as End.
How are you recording? Typical screen capture mode or full
motion for all (ick). If it's full motion for all does anything
change if you switch to screen capture mode?
That's about all I can think of for the moment. Sure as I
click the Reply button I'm sure another one or two things I
*SHOULD* have asked will immediately pop into my pea sized brain.

Recording stops in AA3 when some other window is opened
In Windows XP Pro when I am recording with AA3 the recording stops when I open another Window. If this a toggle-able option I cannot find how to un-toggle it.

No, I understand about the human contact bit - that's not quite what I meant. All I'm suggesting is that it's sometimes worth a read through all of the FAQ's anyway - because if by some chance you remember that there was something in there relating to a problem you have, even if you can't remember the details, you might be able to find it anyway.

Why does recording stop automatically?
I'm using Logic Express 8.0.2 on Mac OSX 10.6.8.
I'm recording just 1 track of audio. I have "Audio 1" (the only track aside from the master track) set up with compression as the only plug-in, and the mute "M" and record "R" buttons selected. When I hit record, it starts recording, and at first everything is fine. However, as some point (I can't figure out any way to predict when) it automatically stops recording. It basically goes into playback mode so that the playback bar is still moving, but nothing is being recorded. I can click the record button (the circle) at the bottom, and recording will start again.

Nokia N97 Mini recorder stops randomly
why does the recorder stops randomly during a recording? My previous NOkia 5800 Xpressmusic also had this problem. I never reach the maximum recording time of one hour. My mobile phone is lying next to me and not receiving any calls or messages, with 'silent' profile active.
Hi, I'm having some similar problems with mine also, i was having a look on line just now and came across the link below, infor on how to hard reset your nolia n97, I haven't tried it as of yet as mine works on and off, on at the moment, but if yours is completely kaput, it could be worth a try. Why does my recording stop when I navigate away from AA3?
I noticed recently that when I navigate away from AA3, my recording stops. This is extremely inconvenient. How do I fix it?
Well, the first thing to do is go to Edit/Audio Hardware Setup and make sure the box beside "Release ASIO Driver in Background" is NOT ticked.
However, when using ASIO drivers remember that you can't have mutliple pieces of software trying to use the driver at the same time. This is a restriction of ASIO itself and not an Audition restriction.

Recording Stops before I want it to
I have my audio path set to record for 200 minutes so I can record some lectures into Logic. The recording stops around 1 hour 15 minutes or so, far shorter than the 200 minutes I thought it would last. What can I do to make it last longer?
Is your record audio drive full???
Also, you need to lower the BPM of the Logic project, to about 40 bpm, and see if you CAN get 200 minutes in one session... Logic does have a song length time limit of XXX bars or music time. Because it is really made for MUSIC making, not lecture recording.
I would recommend you use different software for this, especially if you are only doing 1 or 2 mic setups. Audacity comes to mind. It's free, too. and does not have a record time-limit.

Recording Stops on Screen Lock
Hi guys,
since upgrading to Mac OSX Yosemite (I have creative cloud account and latest audition cc 2014), if the screen locks from inattention, recording stops. Levels still show but I have to hit record again so I'm loosing recordings if I don't keep the screen active.
Anyone experience this?It may have happened after Yosemite. I can't be 100% sure but I would guess that is right, never happened from 2010-summer of 2014 so yea. It stops recording when:
2. When OS X requires a password to return to your desktop/applications (System Prefs > Security & Privacy > General > Require password...)
3. When the display itself goes into sleep mode (System Prefs > Energy Saver > Computer Sleep and Display Sleep)
OR
When you switch app to say Chrome. After a few minutes, if you jump back to Audition, its not recording, you have to hit record again but you may have lost x amount of minutes unknowingly. So it doesn't have to be just when the display sleeps or screen password appears. -
BB bold 9791 video recording stops after 1:58 hrs
I tried using sd card which is 32GB even though the recording stops after recording for 1:58 hours for each video and it displays a message something like "no space available to record video". How to record continuously untill the memory is full.

Recording stopping when changing windows
I do the occasional podcast for my friend's site, and a friend gave me his copy of Audition to try, as he swore by it.
Now, I've not had any problems as such so far, but for one annoying thing. I make notes on what I'm going to say in notepad, and when I clicked out of the Audition window and into Notepad, the recording stopped. Same thing happens if I click out the window at all.
Is there a way to have the program keep recording even if the window isn't on top, as they say, or do I have to tell my friend "Thanks, but it's not for me"...Edit>Audio Hardware Setup, and take the check out of the 'Release ASIO Driver in Background' box.

Our Script prompt recording stopped working. After user authentication, the Recording command plays the prompt asking to record after the beep, but after the beep the application ends with error exception on screenshot below.
Have anyone experience this error?

Record prompt script failing with error message "CMTRecordingDialogImpl"
UCCX versions: Linux versions and especially after upgrades to the system.
Solution: Problem is due to permissions,

[root@DISDUCCXPUB uccx]# ls -l | grep temp
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Oct 6 2011 temp
[root@DISDUCCXPUB uccx]# chown uccxuser:uccxservice temp

This should take care of the problem. Again, Cisco TAC needs to be engage because of the root access.

Recording stops at exactly 33:16
So I am recording my demo set from a DJ mixer on Garage Band connected through iMic interface. Everything is going smoothly except at exactly 33:16, the program stops recording. No warning, no nothing, it just stops at 33:16. This happened twice already so I know it's gonna happen the 3rd time unless I figure out why.
BTW, I am running a powerbook with 1.33 Ghz 768MB of RAM and 40 Gig HD(30 left). Any guesses to why this happening? Is it because the program is not meant to record pass a certain length of time? Should I get another recording program?Is it because the program is not meant to
