Recording to another track - from source track through effects

I am trying to record from track 6 to track 7. I am processing a pitch-fix through the Antares 5 pitch correction plugin that is on track 6. I added Antares 5 insert to track 6 as an insert. Next I chose the BUS 1 send from track 6 so that I can send the corrected signal to track 7. At track 7, the record track I wanted to select BUS 1 as the input source. That's the challenge. HOW?
Simplified; how do I record from one track to another (One track in play mode and the other in record mode?

Yeah, Rob's Right,
Also, if you select the Add to Audio window (on bounce box)
you can drag it from the audio window (apple key +9) to track 7.

    Hi Folks,
I am using FCPX 10.0.8 on a MPB 10.8.2 with a multi in/out audio device RME Fireface 400.
I recorded a timecode track through in 11 and routed it to out 3.
Initially it worked, although it did also play timecode through the main outputs 1&2 !!!
Now it has stopped playing TC through output 3.
Is FCPX capable of working with professional audio?

    Hi Anamika,
If you are running your query in Web Portal, it seems your web portal is not defined in RFC connection with system. Ask BASIS to connect it.
Also, You can run your report in RSRT with ABAP Web option and check if it is working on ABAP engine.

  • Recording a class of 30 kids singing to a guitar track I laid down on Garage Band. Severe distortion because they have to hear the guitar track through a set of speakers..

I had a big setback today on a project I've been working on.  I recently made my first recording of my own playing and singing, a guitar track and a vocal track of a children's song.  When I recorded the guitar track, it took me a whole day to get it right.  I used the metronome through earbuds.  Then I listened to the guitar track and sang into a Snowball mike to get the vocal track down.  Played separately or together, they came out crisp, clear, no dostortion.  I made a CD of the song by sending the song to iTuines, with and without my voice so the children could practice to it.  I taught the song to 30 fifth graders so I could add a vocal track of them singing.  My plan is to use it as the music for a slideshow I'm making for their elementary graduation.  I'm a mom, not their teacher.  The teachers of the two classrooms have been generous in letting me teach the kids the song, and setting up 45 minutes for me to record it.  Did the recording of the kids today at the school.  Two tracks of all 30 kids doing their very best to cooperate.  They sang well.  I opened the garage Band file at home and it is such poor quality audio that it is UNUSABLE.  There's a lot of fuzz and distortion.  I can probably get their teachers to let me have them again to give it another try, but I better get it right. When I recorded my own voice to the guitar track, I monitored using earbuds.  I can't hook 30 kids up to my Macbook with earbuds. I played the guitar track from speakers and held the microphone out toward them, so the mike was between the speakers and the kids. The speakers and mike both faced the kids.  They sang really well, so it was pretty disappointing to find the recording sounded so bad.  My guitar teacher tried to help me figure out what to do, but he thinks it is going to be very tricky to get it right since the kids have to hear the guitar track to sing it.  I'm considering playing the CD I made of the guitar track from a boom box behind the kids and just recording the kids on a separate project file and losing the ability to edit, and probably losing most of the guitar quality and volume.  But I won't know if it works until I have 30 kids and 2 teachers and all my gear set up to actually try it.  Whatever I do, it has to work on my next try.  There's very little time left and no budget.  I thought my Macbook Pro and the Snowball, purchased at the Apple Store, would be enough.
    Please advise.  Thanks.

Very difficult recording situation. I would probably just record the kids with you playing live guitar.
You could do the boombox with the kids and set it up so the kids hear the guitar but try to get as little as possible of the prerecord guitar on the the track. Then either mix the kids recording with the original guitar track or add a guitar track to the kids track later.
When you do the recording of the kids bring headphones to monitor levels. Also make sure you're happy with the track before you leave the school.

  • Recording to one track while playing another

Is it possible to record to one track while listening to playback from another? I have tried and the sound from the playback track seems to be full of static while recording but clears up once the recording functions is turned off. Any ideas? BTW....I am using the M-Audio Firewire410 as my interface.

It's possible. Make sure your interface is set for the same sample rate/bit depth as your STP project. A mismatch can cause ugly stuff like that.

  • When I go to record a vocal track I get humming through my headphones. The humming is heard in the recording.

I just figured it out. It was feedback from a cordless phone! Thank you for getting back to me.

  • Copy custom code from one track to another track

How can we copy only new code from one track to another track. We don't want to merge the other DCs exisitng between 2 tracks. Is it possible through track connection? Pls give your valuable suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Santha

    HI,
you just want to copy new code?
i really dont understand this question.
    but as per my understanding
    1. you can copy a whole track..through track connection.
    2. You can do one thing if just want to copy new code, use NWDS and copy new changes into other tracks DC. it will be good.
    3. there is option for workspace comparision and integration. think of it, if suitable.

  • When I record an audio track, there is a waveform. When I stop recording, the waveform disappears and becomes a straight line. It also disappears from the track edit window. But the sound is there. How can I stop the waveform from disappearing?

When I record an audio track using Logic Pro X, there is a visible waveform which appears as I record. When I stop recording, the waveform disappears and becomes a straight line. It also disappears from the track edit window. But the sound is still there. How can I stop the waveform from disappearing? And can I do something to view it after it has disappeared? Anyone know the anser?

    In Logic:
    Preferences/Audio Set Recording Delay to 0 <zero>
This should always be set to zero unless a specific set of circumstances exist and you're audio drivers do not report position correctly.
On occasion, usually when importing a Logic 9 project, Logic-X randomly changes this to a negative/positive number.  It's actually a bug in Logic, as it should always display the waveform.

  • Using DC from another track ??? possible??

    Hi Experts,
Out of curiosity i wanted to know whether i can access public part of some other DC DC1 from some other track T1 from a different DC DC2 of another track T2?
If yes , can you please tell me how?
    Regards,
    Ashish Shah

    Hi Ashish,
    Ans: NO
    Explanation:
U cannot connect to 2 tracks at once, U can only connect to one track at any time.
So you cannot access public part of some other DC DC1 from some other track T1 from a different DC DC2 of another track T2?
Because when u are connected to T2, Only dc's under S/w componentents in Track T2 can be seen and hence u cannot acess Public part of someother Dc in Track T1.
    Thanks n Regards,
    Archana

  • DCs to move from one tract to another track

    Hi,
We have two tracks one is in DC0 and the other is DC1.
We have done lot of developments in the DC0 track and now we need to move this code
from DC0 track to DC1 track.
Please let me know how to do this.
    Thanks,
    Anilkumar

    Anilkumar
Your request to export import single DC from one track to another is unusual.
It is usually SCs that needs to be moved.
    Explanation:
The SAP approach to the software development is that you create SCs and develop DCs inside these SCs. DCs stays within their SCs for good.
If another DC(1) needs to use original DC(0) then:
    - if DC(1) is in the same SC and DC(0), than DC(1) uses DC(0) via pub parts
    - if DC(1) is in SC(1) and DC(0) is in SC(0) (same or different track - des not matter), SC(1) should declare SC(0) as required. SC(0) should be imported to the same track as SC(1).
There is never a need for DC to jump between SCs, because it makes it impossible to make any sense of version tracking and dependencies after that.
If you need an entire SC with all the DCs to come over to another track, there are two ways:
    - create a new track and import assembled SC;
    - copy old track to new track and import assembled SC
It has been discussed several times in forum like this:

  • Used Dc dependency from one Track to another Track

    Hi All,
Can you give me some solution for my scenario.
    1) I have imported two tracks Track1 and Track2 from the server and created project locally from Inactive DCs.
    2) I have already existing DC1 from SC1->Track1 and also i have another track Track2-->SC2. In SC2 i have created new dc DC2.DC2 is still in both Inactive DCs only.
    3) I need to use DC1 as used dc in DC2.
    4) when i tried to do Used Dc from DC2, i cannot able to see Track1 SCs and DCs, only Track 2 is visible.
Can you please provide some steps or documents for me to proceed further, it will be very helpful for me.
Can you tell how can add Public Part and Used DC.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Suresh T

To get this working you'll need to do the following after following Slava's steps: Set up a transport connection (in CMS Landscape Configurator) from Track 1 to Track 2, so that SC1 becomes available in Track 2. You can import SC1 into Track 2 after it has been Approved in Track 1.
Note that the following step that Slava mentioned should not be done manually: "Add SC1 to Requirement components in SC2 track." After the Update CMS procedure, you should click the Synchronize SC Dependencies button in Track 2. This should automatically add SC1 to the Required Components table.

  • How do I record separate tracks through my Mixer in logic?

    Hello All,
I am trying to record two seperate instruments at the same time into logic through my Xenyx Q502 USB Mixer so they are recorded on two sperate tracks (one track for microphone, the other for guitar) but am struggling as to how to do this. I have the Microhone in input one and the guitar in input two on my mixer. The problem that arrises is that both of these inputs record on the same track in logic and are not recorded as indivudal tracks. How do I make them record as indivudal tracks?
    Thanks,
    T.Hobbs.

Stop recording on a stereo track!
Record on two mono tracks, one set to Input 1,  the other set to Input 2

  • Recording on a track, while listening to another track...

    Hi
Basically I currently have a blank track armed for recording with effects, and I have track 2 with an instrumental track.  On the third track I have a song that I would like to listen to while recording, BUT not turn up in the recoding.  Currently all 3 tracks turn up in the recording.  I would only like track 1 and 2 to be in the final product.  I need to listen to track 3 for reference.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have Adition 3.0 with antares autotune installed on a PC, if this helps.
    Thanks!

    Hi Steve
Thanks so much for your reply.  I am still a bit confused as to what exactly I have to do as this is really my first day using Adobe for my project.
Basically I have gone to the Windows mixer recording and I can verify that only the Mic that I am using is selected.  That is good.
I have the audition mix to "always input" so I can hear what my recording is 'live'.
When you mention re routing things to inputs, would this be in the Adobe auditon program, or windows.
I would think that what I'm trying to do is very basic, which is setting the first track 'armed for record', which works fine (although I realize you said it will be dry until I 'save as an mp3' (i think))
the second track will be the 'instrumental track' which I would like to be in the final output without track 3
track 3 is the full song (with lyrics and instrument) which I just need for when I'm recording so I know when to say certain words and such..
the problem is, is when I go to record (with the mic), I am recording all 3 tracks, which is logical, but i only want my recording to end up having track 2 (instrumental) and track 1 (my mic) ....
is there no way I can simply select which tracks to end up in the recording on track 1?
also, track one I believe, once I've recorded, has all 3 tracks combined, which I only want to have track 1 and 2.
also, when i got to edit--> rewire setup, and click 'enable' ...it says I have no re wire programs on my computer....
maybe i have to select my track 3 for "read, write, touch, latch" settings (which are all currently set to 'read')?
sorry if I'm making things more complicated then they have to be...just need to get cracking on this asap....
    thanks!

  • Can I playback track and work on another track before recording it

  • When Recording a new track, previous track is copied to the new track as well

I have an Audigy 4 Pro. I am experiencing a problem when I try to record a multi-track project. I have a microphone plugged into the "Line-In 1/Mic In" input. I can record the first track fine, but when I record the second track, the audio from track one is copied onto track two along with the new audio. This occurs in both Cubase LE and Magix Music Studio 11. I am following the software instructions very closely, so I don't think the problem is there. It seems to me that the Audigy is probably mixing the playback signal with the input signal before sending it to the recording software, but I don't know how to correct this. I am wearing headphones, so the track one audio is not being picked up by the microphone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You're propably using non native ASIO drivers w/ .rec source set to "What U Hear" or native ASIO drivers w/ rec source set to "Mix L".
Use native Craetive ASIO drivers (you should have there Creative ASIO, SB Audigy 4 ASIO and SB Audigy 4 24/96 ASIO to select from) and set input to "Mic n" for microphone, "Analog Mix L" for line source.
There are some explanation on ASIO drivers (it's made for Audigy 2 Plat eX but, I suppose it's about the same w/ A4 too.) behind link -->
    http://forums.creative.com/creativel...essage.id=1726
You can also use below settings for microphone when using CT ASIO:
Also, on Cubase LE, remember switch the Input Monitoring (speaker button on every track header) "ON" when recording and switch it OFF when playback/mixing.
