Recording tv shows purchased on iTunes to DVD

How do I record tv shows purchased on iTunes to DVD?

You can, but only to a data DVD for backup and transport; the content on such DVDs can't be played outside of iTunes. Creating a data DVD is done by treating the video files as if they were any other file.

  • Is is possible to convert the movies purchased on itunes to DVD?

Is is possible to convert the movies purchased on itunes to DVD? (In other words you would be burning the movie or tv shows to a blank DVD).

You can store just what you want on the external. Just set up folders for what you want. I have a music folder, movies and TV shows, and pictures folders. I also have mine partitioned for OSX and Windows. I have a few files I need if I am running on windows so I keep them on the windows side. I always keep a back up of my documents and a few other files it is a pain to download on the external.
You can also copy every folder and file on your machine to the external if it is big enough. This is a true copy not a back up file generated by a back up program. I like to do this if I get adventuresome and plan to do some major experimenting with my software. Saves having to reload everything if it crashes.

    Any ideas?

Oh my gosh I had the EXACT same problem, and for ages I couldn't figure out how to fix it until today. Here's what I did:
First I went onto my computer, opened itunes, and un-installed tumblr, vine and kik. These were the apps I was having problems with (it said I had them on my phone but, like you, they didn't show).
Then I went to the itunes store, searched for each one, and it said I could update them so I did (just FYI: for tumblr a window popped up saying "please click ok to confirm you are 17 years or older", so I did that also)
When I went back to my phone and tried installing them again (still on my computer), it worked!
I hope this helps, because it was incredibly frustrating. Good luck!

  • 80g not syncing TV shows purchased on iTunes (not an HD issue)

I have several TV programs that I purchased, some as long as 4 years ago, and some only a year ago. On my old computer I manually synced because my computer couldn't hold all my iPod content. Then I got a new computer and started auto syncing.
Now all my old TV shows (purchased through iTunes when I used my previous computer, copied to this computer from my iPod) won't sync to my iPod. I have selected the check box and selected all episodes of all shows. I have also tried doing "selected" and then checking the boxes, nothing works.
This is so enfuriating as all of these were legitimately purchased. I can watch them fine in iTunes, but can't get the d*mn things to copy/sync!

OKAY...this was the same thing that happened to me and I figured out the problem...it might be the same for you all...when you plug your iPod into the usb and the iPod Updater screen appears through your iTunes account, go to the "TV Shows" tab at the top. MAKE SURE YOU SELECT "Sync ALL videos." It turns out that the videos that weren't appearing on my iPod were the ones that had been watched at least once. I had the "Sync ALL UNWATCHED" option selected, there for all of the episodes that were viewed on my computer were not synced onto my iPod. HOPE THIS HELPS!

  • Some shows purchased from itunes do not show on Apple TV

I've downloaded and purchased via iTunes a few kids tv shows. These shows do not show up on my apple Tv. They are marked to sync in iTunes etc, but they still do not appear in Apple TV. any ideas?

ok, here's an update as to the problems i was having. This had nothing to do with the software update. I figured out that when i unplug my iphone before my pc is ready to disconect it, I get an error... something to the effect of Apple mobile manager blah blah blah. If I reboot my computer I am able to sync. So, I guess the solution is to make sure my iphone is ready to disconnect before I actually disconnect it. Funny how that messes up the sync of the ATV. thanks winston for the insight.

  • I am trying to download previously purchased music from iTunes, it show "purchased" in iTunes Store but does not show up under previous purchase tab

There are several albums that I've previously purchased that somehow were deleted from my computer & iPad.  When I go to download available purchases on PC it say that all available punches have been downloaded.  When I check iTunes Store it show as "purchased".  When I try to check & download from iCloud via either iPad or PC these items do not show up under items purchased.
I can't even re-purchase the item, which I've tried since it shows as purchased in iTunes Store.  This is very troublesome because there is no way for me to access these previous purchases.  I have been using iTunes & various Apple products with the iTunes Store for several years & there is a lot of money invested in these previous purchases, that there is no way for me to access.  As mentioned, I'd even be willing to re-purchase some of these items (though this should be unnecessary).  But, the iTunes Store won't let me, because the items show up as purchased in store, but not on any of my devices!!!
    Help!

    Hey innerev2003,
Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
If, while searching through your past purchases, items are unavailable to download and show a "Purchased" button, they are still on your computer. It may be best to search your iTunes library by clicking Music, then use the search bar at the top right.
If you are completely sure the items are no longer in your library, try signing out of the iTunes Store, and then back in.

  • Can't get through one TV show purchased on iTunes without Homeshare timing out

My Apple TV is up to date, as well as my imac. Netflix is working pretty well now but it really bugs me that I can't get through a whole TV show that I purchased on iTunes without the Homeshare timing out. If I go to watch on my computer, it works fine. This is somthing between my computer and my Apple TV which is especially maddening because it all Apple! I have spent a lot of time on this and I am not a techie. very maddening - about to throw the darn thing in the trash!

It is likely an issue with your local network.

  • Some TV Shows purchased from iTunes do not show up in TV Shows on iPod

I have purchased several TV Shows from iTunes and most seem to show up correctly under TV Shows on my iPod. However, I purchased the first season of "The Office' and all the episodes show up as individual listings under Movies on my iPod. I also purchased the first season of "Weeds". One episode shows up under TV Shows and the rest are all listed under Movies. I have tried to change the video kind under options in "Get Info" but it is greyed out. My iPod is set to automatically update all.
Any help would be appreciated. The menus on my iPod are getting pretty messy.

The new ipod video already list TV Shows in the menu and most of my downloaded shows end up there. I have my ipod set to update my entire library when I sync so I don't I don't need to check individual playlists to update. Anyone have any other suggestions?

  • TV shows purchased through iTunes on PC delayed in showing up on Apple TV.

I've been searching for a couple of days trying to find someone with a similiar problem (and, hopefully, an explanation). Unfortunately, I must not be using the right keywords because I can't believe that my problem is really unique.
This is a problem that I've had off and on since I purchased my ATV about six months ago, but it's been noticeable more frequently over the last couple of weeks. When I purchase a TV episode using iTunes on my PC, the episode sometimes appears immediately in the "Purchased" list on my ATV--but not always. Sometimes there is a delay before it appears there--the 9/1 (purchased on 9/2) episode of Breaking Bad just showed up in the list today (the 9/8 episode, downloaded on my PC on 9/9 still hasn't showed up). An episode of another show that I purchased this afternoon does not appear yet. I can access these my directly accessing my iTunes library by clicking on the "Computer" icon--and this is immediate--so it isnt' the end of the world. It is, however, frustrating. . . and seemingly random.
This is probably a separate problem, but I'm mentioning it just in case it might be related. When I turn on the ATV unit, about 90% of the time it does not recognize that "Home Sharing" is turned on in iTunes on my PC (and, yes, it is open). Sometimes I get this going my going to my PC and turning Home Sharing off, and then back on; other times, I need to restart the ATV unit. Getting Home Sharing recognized doesn't resolve the problem of the missing TV episodes, though.
As I write this, I realize that I must sound like a complete idiot when it comes to technology. That really isn't the case. While I really have like the ATV when it works as it should, my opinion of it has really been tainted by how glitchy it seems to be.

Thanks, Winston C, I've actually tried everything you suggested. I'm thinking now that the Home Sharing problem likely is related to Bonjour--I've seen several people mention this with similar (but not identical) problems. The solution that seems to work for some people is to uninstall and reinstall Bonjour. Frankly, I don't want to go through the trouble given that the iOS 7 release is imminent.
One thing that I haven't tried is resetting the ATV to factory settings. I'll give that whirl.
    Thanks for your advice!

  • Vidoes/TV shows purchased on itunes not loading to ipod

Recently purchased a movie and TV shows, which I can view on itunes, but they are not showing up on the ipod itself, and the videos that were previously on my Ipod are now gone. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

  • TV Shows purchased on itunes not showing on ipod

I have purchased several tv shows from itunes. These show up in my itunes library and play on the itunes library, but only some of the shows appear on my ipod when I update it. All of the shows are "checked". My preferences are set to automatically update videos. These are purchased, authorized tv shows. Itunes can locate and play these tv shows immediately when I click on them. What's going on?
Also, if I try to update with any specific preferences under the tv shows tab, it always has an "error -50" cannot be updated/unknown error type message. Help!

  • Is there a way I can create a playlist for my TV Shows purchased from iTunes?

    Hi Guys,
Recently upgraded to IOS7 and my video app has changed. I use the ipad in the car for my daughter and play a series of pepper pig continuously. However, with the new upgrade the option to play all epps in folder is not there anymore, it only allows you to play each eppisode indiviuadly and thats it.
Can anybody please tell me if they've manage to play all TV Show downloads from Apple in a playlist? Its impossible to use the ipad in the car now as I would have to pull over every 5 minutes.
    Thanks in advance.

  • TV shows purchased on iTunes not showing up on iPhone

I have an iPhone 3G. When I try to sync TV shows to it -- shows I've paid for, using iTunes -- it looks like they're transferring to the iPhone, but they don't show up on it.
I've tried renaming them, reclassifying them as movies, deleting and retrying, but nothing works. It used to work and suddenly stopped after one of the updates (I forget which one).
    Suggestions?

All video content is copy protected. The copy protection only allows you to burn a data disc for backup purposes only. This is required by the copyright holders for video content, not Apple.
