Recording Using Binaural Head Using Signal Generated by Loudspeaker

Hi guys,
I am new to this software and my question deals with mainly setting up the measurement using a binaural head (basically just a coupld of microphones) to record a signal generated by a loudspeaker. I would like to generate a signal within Adobe and send it through the sound card to the loudspeaker and then record it using the head. I have all the hardware for this (amplifier for microphones and loudspeaker), VXI sound card, etc. This is for a school project, I would really appreciate any feedback on this.
My specific question is how to set up this recording in the multitrack view in the Main menu (how to set up input channels for recording and an output channel to send signal to the loudspeaker). As I said, I am really a beginner so any details/tips would really be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Ah, so that's a Digigram card rather than one from VXI.
I assume you have got the output from the card feeding to the loudspeaker from, say, track 1, which would be loaded with the source audio file.
I haven't used one of these cards with the current version of Audition, but it ought to work fine. I believe it has ASIO drivers, so it ought to be just a question of selecting the correct recording source (Edit->Audio Hardware Setup) to the correst single track if you are aiming for a stereo file, or two mono sources to 2 tracks if you want 2 separate mono files. In the Audio Hardware Setup, you need to set the Audio driver to the Digigram first, then lower down check that you have entries for mono and stereo for input and output. I'm not sure whether you need to hit the Control Panel button here for this card, but that might be necessary.
Arm the recording tracks and start recording.
I have a feeling that you may be asking something more complicated than I am describing.

Creating two sin signals using function generator.vi example

hi all. i want to create two sin signals with different parameters using function generator.vi example. i tried to modify the example by copying the code and try to output two sin signals on different channels of the DAQ but error message saying that you are validating of the AO write buffer . attached is the file. how can i modify it to solve the problem?!

You can set the IP Address on the instrument. You may need to be in the same subnet of your controlling computer, so you may need to set your computer's IP Address to something static.
Use VISA. It makes life easier if you decide to use another bus (like GPIB, USB, serial, etc). In MAX, create a network session with the static IP address you set the instrument to and use that as the VISA Resource.

Using labview to operate a signal generator

Hey everyone,
My name is Jake, I currently work in a lab at my university where we are trying to develop medical imaging via thermoacoustic tomography
The problem I am facing is that we are trying to use LabVIEW 2010 to "talk" to an SML-01 Rohde and Schwarz signal generator. I have very little LabVIEW experience anmd have basically been teaching it to myself for the past month. I have downloaded a driver for the sig gen and have a GPIB cable to run from an oscilloscope (which we run labview on) to the sig gen.
Would anyone be willing to help me figure out how to do this?

Using external RF signal generator

Hello.
I would just like to ask how do I remove the frequency offset if I use an external RF signal generator (instead of the NI PXIe-5652 RF Signal Generator module). I understand that in the case of using the NI to generate RF signal, frequency offset is removed by setting the same reference clock source for the transmitter and receiver (setting the reference clock source to PXI_CLK in the front panel of both generation VI and acquistion VI).

In that kind of setting, what master reference clock source should I set in the front panel? I tried both the onboard and RefIn and I got some errors (see attachments). And do I still have other adjustments/settings to make?

Generating PWM signal using Signal Express

Hi,
Would anyone help in generating PWM signal usinf Signal Express 2.5.1. I am using a cDAQmx and connected NI 9472 to the slot number 6 to output the PWM signal. Also I have connected a NI 9421 to the slot number 5 to acquire the PWM signal, so that I could verify the signal.
So would you please let me know how could I generate a PWM signal using Signal Express without any LabVIEW Programming. Please help me out.

But VI execution to half Shique the following error window
in Initialize.vi, there is a problem

Seems to be unable to distinguish the devices?

Noticed that you are using serial port to communicate to instrument. Would you please double-check the serial setting parameters, such as Baud Rate, Flow Controls and etc. are insistent with the configuration on instrument? Or would you please try to use other interface rather than serial port.
If you have tried everything I mentioned above and it still raised that error, please manipulate the NI I/O Trace (You could find it in Windows Start menu) tool to trace and log the communication between PC and instrument. I should be helpful to analyze the root course if you investigate into that trace log. It would be great if you post it here!

What's the detailed GPS protol used to generated GPS bin file?

I encountered a problem recently.
) When we used actual GPS signals instead of simulated signals generated from the PXI-5671, the receiver functioned normally.
2) When we streamed bin file to generate signals repeatedly using the PXI-5671, the receiver could receive correctly for the first time, while at the rest of it the receiver couldn't receive the signals nor display how many satellites there were and what the signal strengths were.
The R&D engineers of the receiver in German want to know the detailed GPS protocol used to generated GPS bin file. They want to find the differences between the receiver and NI GPS generator.
Could you give me the detailed GPS protocol? thanks!

In the ni GPS bin file ther header is is stored as following.
Of the first 8 bytes the first two bytes are version of GPS toolkit it was use to save the data, the next 4 bytes will be IQ rate, the next 4 bytes will be peak power in dBm and then rest 488 bytes will be just buffer data or 0 padding. Here is the screenshot of that. The actual data is stored as I16 format as I and Q data block. Hence the actual offset from the starting of the file is 512 bytes.

Have some problems in BDC for VB12.Uploading ten thousand records at a time.
Following problems exist.
Before updating i am reading existing data.
In selection condition, if i give ten thousand records
i am getting dump.
(ii) In the change material determination third screen
to delimit the date ( Valid on and Valid to) it does for header not at item level. No option to do at item level.

Sorry, it's very unclear what you want.
Whenever you have a question, please post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) for all the tables involved, and the results you want from that data.
Explain, using specific examples, how you get those results from that data.
Always say what version of Oracle you're using (e.g. 11.2.0.2.0).

Have you tried the the UNPIVOT EXCLUDE NULLS option? See the SQL Language manual for details.
It that doesn't do what you want, then you may need to UNPIVOT in a sub-query, generating more rows than you want, and use a WHERE clause in the main query to remove the unwanted rows.

How use video generator ni5431 with visual c++

i use a ni5431 video generator with visual c++.
i generate a ccir signal and i want to modify attributes IMAGE_TOP, IMAGE_HEIGHT and IMAGE_WIDTH. When i change one of these attribute with VDG_SetAttribute(****,int) i can't obtain a signal.

Proably the reason this question has gone so long without an answer is that the Vision forum only covers our NI Image Acquisition hardware (along with all NI Vision software), and not our signal generator hardware. That hardware is covered in the Signal Sources forum under the Measurment Hardware section, which is serviced by a different set of Enthusiasts and experts. If you ask your questions there, you should get a quick response.

Recording using JMF

I am developing a web application where i need to capture the desktop activities along with the audio.This recording stuff i'm planning to do in applet.It would be greatly helpful if someone clarifies my doubts.
1.Is JMF the right technology for this application?
2.What are the best formats in which this recording should be done as per quality and for streaming.
I have tried to some extent on this where i end up with the following doubts again
3.I'm creating two processors for audio(LINEAR) and video(JPEG) datasources which i'm merging to a QUICKTIME format file created using datasink(all at a time).But when i play the recorded file there is no sink between audio and video.Video plays at a very faster rate.Can some one suggest the possible cause for this?
4.The size of the file created is very large.How can i compress it as i need to upload this file on to server through network.

When I tried transcode.java,and gave my 50MB "Quicktime" file to convert to "Avi" file, the file size drastically increased to 600MB....i don't know if I'm doing some thing wrong.

Background:
1) Report SQL is created with unions to have detail lines continue on a page, until it reaches page footer or report footer, rather than using subreports.    A subreport report is now essentially a group1a, group1b, etc. (containing column headers and other data within the the report    with their respective detail lines). I had multiple subreports and each subreport became one union.
Created and tested, already:
1) I have calculated @TotalLineForEachOfTheSameGroup, now I need to sum of the individual same group totals to get the total line count on a page.
Issue:
1) I need this to create break on a certain line before, it dribbles in to a pre-printed area.
Other Ideas Appreciated:
1) Groups/detail lines break inconveniently(dribble) into the pre-printed area, looking for alternatives for above situation.

It sounds like your screen recording is doing what it was designed to do, capture what is happening on your screen, with optional voice over with the microphone.
Screen recording is for recording what you see on the screen, it is not a "video capture" option, like for capturing a movie with sound that is playing on your screen.
