  • Microphone auto adjust while using google Hangout,

    Hi,
While using Google Hangout the micrphone adjust itself, there is an option within Skype to stop it, but couldn't find it in Google Hangout, and it does it also when recording the sound, which lead me to believe it is Als/pulse related.
Is there any option to disable it?
    Looking forward for your reply,
    Regards,

    Right,
After searching the web a little bit more - actually quite easy to fine - but I was trying hangout for the first time.
I found that solution, I haven't tested it yet; so if you do please let us know if it work.
To turn off the auto adjust:
cd ~/.config/google-googletalkplugin    # get to google chat's directory
    cp -p options options.bak        # make a backup before changing stuff !
gedit options                # edit the config file
now change one of the lines so that it reads as follows:
    audio-flags=1
Now restart you machine and google chat will no longer auto-adjust!!!
Remember to go to PulseAudio volume control just to make sure the left channel stays at 0

Also, on the results page, there will be a little gear icon in the upper right corner.   Click that.   Click Languages along the left.  Choose "English" at the bottom.

  • Why am I getting this message: 403 - Forbidden: Access is denied. You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied?

I just tried to access a website that I regularly access several times a day. However, this evening I received the following message: 403 - Forbidden: Access is denied.
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.
I have never seen this before, and have no idea what it means, or how to access the site. Does it have anything to do with my security settings? Help. I belong to the site, and need to access it.

Do you need to login to access that website?

I have a mac book pro running Lion 10.7.4 and every time I use Google Earth The computer crashes by lowering a black curtain and then asking me to hold the power button down until it closes and press the power button again to restart it. Can I fix this? It bugs me when I'm looking at real estate.

I really don't have an answer for that one. I guess that while trying to get things working correctly, I would use the most basic monitor I had which in your case would be the Eizon using the Thunderbolt port and adaptor.
When you boot into Safe Mode the startup is quite slow, but you should get the Apple logo and then the spinning gear below it (release the SHIFT key when it appears.) Then after a little more time you should see a gray progress bar appear below the spinning gear. When that disappears the computer will startup to a login screen.

  • Use Google Earth (Maps) in Booklet?

Anyone can guide the full way to use Google Earth (or Google Maps) wit GPS in Booklet?
    Thank you so much !!!

Use this guide to enable GPS. In Google Earth you then can track your position by going to Tools > GPS > Real Time (select  NMEA, tick the follow box and click Start).
BTW, you need the very latest version of Google Earth (5.2.1.1547) for it. In the previous version was a bug that prevented GPS tracking.
I think Google Maps doesn't work with GPS. At least I haven't found a way to show my position (tried Chrome and Opera). Maybe they only  use the IP to show your position. Don't know.

    I figured it out!
I read a solution for something that sounded similar.
    Anyone in similar position:
Open iTunes app on iPhone, and pick an option from bottom, such as music. Then scroll down to bottom of page and where your iTunes ID is, press on it, and pick sign out.
Then return to home screen, and double press home button and press and hold on first icon showing, until a minus symbol appears in the top left of icons present. Press on each minus symbol on each app in turn, until all app icons have disappeared. Then Restart the phone by pressing and hold the home button and the on/off/standby button at top of phone, until the apple symbol appears in centre of blank screen.
Swipe to turn phone fully on and open settings and scroll down to iTunes and apps option and tap that. Pick sign in and put in your apple ID, it will accept it and then return to home screen and open iTunes a you'll find it works fine
Simple really, but some like me won't think f this themselves!
    Hope that helps

  • When I login to my bank, I get the message: 403 - Forbidden: Access is denied. You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied. Have new MacBook Air with Yosemite. How to solve this problem?

When I try to login to the website of my bank, I get the following error message:
403 - Forbidden: Access is denied.
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.
I have a new MacBook Air with OS Yosemite installed.
What is the problem and how can I solve it?

Some websites require a special client certficate for access. If you don't have that certficate, you'll have to contact the site operator to find out how to get one.
Sometimes the problem is caused by a web server that is configured to request an optional client certificate. Safari treats the request as mandatory. In that case, other browsers such as Firefox and Chrome may be able to connect to the site, because they ignore the request.
The first time you were prompted for a certificate, you may have clicked through a dialog that requested access to the Apple certificate in your keychain that is used to secure the iMessage service. In that case, you may be able to regain access to the site in Safari by doing as follows.
    Back up all data.
Double-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    com.apple.idms.appleid.prd
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Paste into the search field in the Keychain Access window by clicking in it and pressing the key combination command-V. An item may appear in the list of keychain items. The Name will begin with string you searched for, and the Kind will be "certificate."
Delete the item by selecting it and pressing the delete key. It will be recreated automatically the next time you launch the Messages or FaceTime application.
The next time you visit a site that prompts for an optional client certificate, cancel out of the prompt. You may have to do this several times before the server stops asking.

    Hi,
I update recently my OS to Yosemite and decided to use Safari again as my web browser (I was using Chrome). Some of the sites I need to access for professional reasons are not available with safari. I receive the message: "403 - Forbidden: Access is denied. You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.". I believe there is a pattern here, they are all sites publish with IIS with SSL and build with ASP.NET.
I can access them with Chrome (on OS X) or with Internet Explorer (with my Windows VMs).
I've already cleared all saved passwords, cookies, history, etc...the problem remains. I'm sure this is a known problem, but all the answers I've found on the internet were for things like DNS and unavailability of the site. The sites are working fine and I can access them with Chrome.
Can anybody help me? An explanation would also be nice :-) Something to do with Microsoft Authentication methods ?
    Thanks,

I got this message when trying to checkout from a site store:
403 - Forbidden: Access is denied.
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.
Any ideas how can I solve it?

Ask the people running the store; that error generally means that you tried to do something they don't allow or something's wrong on their end.

iPad bombs out returns to home page using Google Earth and other random Apps, why and how can I prevent it happening?

Quit/close all apps and restart the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
You can try this as well.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

The BBC actually has a dignostic page that should confirm your connection speed, and includes links to other sites also able to run tests.

A new tab opens by default as a blank tab (about:blank).
If that isn't the case then an extension has changed that behavior.
    * https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
You can middle-click or hold down Ctrl and left-click the Home button on the Navigation toolbar to open the Home page in a new tab.
You can look at this extension to set which page to open in a new tab:

    Hello,
I have includes a Web link in an image.
When I convert the document in PDF, the link remains inactive. Could use me?
    Thank you.

No version of Pages will allow images to be links. We always got around this by bracketting the image with text and making the link in that.
Pages 5 has lost the ability to have cross links in pdfs and seems to have a bug that disables any links after the first page.
