Recording vinyl records to computer using the Imic

Has anyone used the IMIC to transfer vinyl records to their computer in order to convert the music to a CD? I have seen mixed reviews on the IMIC and would like to know what other people think. I also would like to know what else is needed to make this work. My stereo system has two AUX ports labeled "L" & "R". I purchased an audio Y-cable (1/8" Stereo Male to Dual RCA (Phono) Male but that alone does not work. If I plug that Y-cable into an IMIC and the IMIC into my computer and use Garageband to record should that work? Is the Final Vinyl a better software than Garageband?
I am a novice at this and need the easiest process to accomplish the conversion. Any input would be appreciated.

You stereo system's AUX ports are probably inputs, not outputs. Does it have TAPE OUT ports? They should work with your cable to the Mac's audio input. See if you get any signal in the "Input" tab of "Sound" system preference. Select "Line In" and adjust the input volume slider.
You can record with QuickTime Player using "New Audio Recording" from its "File" menu.
You only need the iMic if you want to go directly from the turntable to the computer without using your stereo system. In that case, you have to use the Final Vinyl software to handle the RIAA equalization.

Syncing Voice Memos
iTunes syncs voice memos to your iTunes library when you connect iPod touch to
your computer. This lets you listen to voice memos on your computer and provides a
backup if you delete them from iPod touch.
Voice memos are synced to the Voice Memos playlist. iTunes creates the playlist if it
doesn’t exist. When you sync voice memos to iTunes, they remain in the Voice Memos
app until you delete them. If you delete a voice memo on iPod touch, it isn’t deleted
from the Voice Memos playlist in iTunes. However, if you delete a voice memo from
iTunes, it is deleted from iPod touch the next time you sync with iTunes.
You can sync the iTunes Voice Memos playlist to the Music app on iPod touch using
the Music pane in iTunes.
Sync the Voice Memos playlist to iPod touch:
1 Connect iPod touch to your computer.
2 In iTunes, select iPod touch in the Devices list.
3 Select Music at the top of the screen.

Problem listening to/recording vinyl records

I am trying to listen to/record vinyl. I am using a Dell 8700, Windows 8.1 and a Sound Blaster Recon3D PCIe sound card. I have the output from the turntable/preamp plugged into the line in/microphone in jack but am getting no sound. Does anyone know if this should work?
I have downloaded Creative's free Wave Studio 7 program from the sound card web site. It is for Windows 8 and earlier OS. I am able to record from What U Hear but not from the line in/microphone in jack.
Is it possible that it will record line in for Windows 8 but not Windows 8.1? Are the two OS that different?

Creative Support has informed me that Media Toolbox 6 andWaveStudio 7 are not supported in Windows 8.1 and that they have no plans for an update at the moment. They did suggest that I could try installing them to my Windows 8.1 system but if there was any issue they would not be able to support me.
I am probably going to use Audacity to record my vinyl. It is free and their website says it is compatible with Windows 8.1

Well if you use the Finder Go menu to Computer, a window opens up double click on your boot drive and then on Users folder, open the other user folder and open Public and drop your files into DropBox
When you do this it will copy them and change the permissions and user assigned to it, so log into the other user and place them into your respective normal folders.
Once you have all your files over and don't need the old user, use System Preferences > Accounts to delete it if you wish, however it's good two Admin accounts on the machine in case something bad happens in the other. Some people for security reasons on use a Standard account for most uses and a emergency Admin account.
One can still do most Admin things in Standard user.

Yes, your license key is cross platform PC & or Mac you are allowed to have two current installations with one in use at any point in time. You can uninstall / install as many times as is necessary so long as you adhere to the limits.

Because ratings don't travel with the files or the playlist.
These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
If you have an iOS device that syncs with contact & calendar data on your computer you should migrate this information too. If that isn't possible create a dummy entry of each type in your new profile and iTunes should offer to merge the existing data from the device into the computer, otherwise the danger is that it will wipe the information from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data. If you don't have any Apple devices then see HT2519 - Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store.

Try opening directly from your desktop, by passing the welcome screen.
Go to Windows Explorer>C drive>Program Files (x86)>Adobe>Photoshop elements 11. Right click, then Send to>Desktop
Double click on the shortcut and see it will open.

You erased them when you reinstalled your operating system, obviously. If you have a backup, as you should have for any important files, just restore from the backup. All is not lost if you don't have a backup, though. Make sure you have at least iTunes 10.3.1, then go to the iTunes Store, log into your account, and click the new Purchases link under the Quick Links. The new iTunes in the Cloud service, currently in beta as part of iCloud, may allow you to re-download your purchased content (music, videos and TV shows only; movies cannot be re-downloaded at this time). You can also do this from an iOS device.

Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think?

Deauthorize Audible Account... always appears as a menu selection, even if you deauthorized Audible or never even had an account.
Audible is a different account from iTunes and does not require the same username / password.

Is the G3 not recognized by the PC? Or is it recognized and you don't see the ext SD card? Are you able to use the Wireless Storage feature to transfer? Do you have updated USB drivers from the LG support site?
