Records goin to exception folder with "Ready to Import" status

Hello experts:
I am using import server to extract master data to MDM Data Manager, but after one true exception all the files keep going to the Exception folder, when I process them to the import manager through Port --> Exception folder, there are not really any exceptions, I go to Import Status tab and all of them are "ready to Import".
Any idea how to fix that?
Thanks for your help,
Claudia Hardeman

Hello Claudia,
"Ready to Import" in Import Manager means, that the field and value mapping is complete and that you can start the import process. During the import process it is possible that exceptions (e.g. value exceptions like a "Unique Constraint Violation") occure, so that the records can be imported partially only. So did you actually import the records in Import Manager?
Additionally you can have a look at the Import logs. They should contain some information why a file is placed into an exception folder.
Depending on the port configuration in MDM Console you might have to cleanup the exceptions first to unblock the port, too.
Best regards
Michael

  • CIF Queues lie with ready or sunning status.

    Hi Experts,
We are experiencing that CIF queus are lieing in ready or running status for some of the order types - not all.
We use inbound setting. Inbound to SCM sales orders and deliveries lieing like this. And inbound to ECC production orders are lieing like this.
    What could be the reason?
    Thanks and regards,
    Sushant

    Hi Sushant,
    Please check the following,
    1) Orders are maintianed in distribution definition in APO
    2) Queues are maintained for reprocessing in SMQR both in ECC and APO

  • Automator and applescript to copy new files in a folder with same name as parent folder

I have an iMac with a pictures folder (Finder folder) containing several subfolders with pictures. As per now, all these subfolders are imported into an iPhoto library (and the structure of the Finder pictures folder is thus maintained: The iPhoto events are named the same as the Finder subfolder). I.e. I have not created any albums in iPhoto.
I have also set up a workflow, where new iPhone photos are automatically being synced to specified Finder folders within the iMac pictures folder. So what I want to do is to make a workflow to import potential new photos from week to week into the existing iPhoto structure. I know iPhoto has this Autoimport folder, so this one is unpacked and "mapped". So, this is what I´m hoping to do:
Automator (iCal - want to do this on a weekly basis):
    - Get specified Finder items -- set to target folder = iMac pictures folder
    - Get folder content (with subfolders)
    - Filter Finder items
         - Items from the last 7 days (which then would be any new files created last week)
    - Applescript/shell script loop(?)
         - Get folder name for each file´s (from previous step) parent folder
         - Create new folder with same name as the file´s parent folder (if not already existing) under the iPhoto Autoimport folder
         - Copy the given file into the folder from above
    - Run iPhoto application (Automator task), which then should just auto import the new photos according to the Finder folder structure
Whith the workflow above, I aim to maintain the existing iPhoto structure, and just import new photos into the existing structure. Creating folder names under the Autoimport, similar as the existing Finder folder names / iPhoto events should make it possible to have the new files imported under the existing event, right?

    Anyone?
I have now switched to Aperture (from iPhoto) due to Aperture´s capability to handle Finder folder structure, and due to the possibility of having the pictures within Aperture as referenced files to the pictures within the Finder folders (i.e. possibility to delete pictures from both library and Finder folder at the same time).
So I have a superior Finder folder called "Album". Within "Album" I have several subfolders (sub albums) containing pictures. The "Album" folder with subfolders are imported into Aperture as "Projects and albums", and the pictures are uploaded within the Aperture structure as referenced files. So for now the Aperture structure is more or less a direct mirror of the Finder folder structure, whereas "Album" is the project.
And this is my current workflow in Automator, but I´m searching help with my Applescript:
    - Get specified Finder items (target folder = the superior Finder folder "Album")
    - Get Folder content
    - Filter Finder items (to look for potential new files to import into Aperture)
         - Kind is not folder
         - Date created last X days
The output files from this task enters an Applescript
    on run {input, parameters}
repeat with f in input (**Loop**)
                   tell application "Finder"
set fileName to name of (f)
set parentFolder to name of container of (f)
                          tell application "Aperture"
                                 tell library 1
                                        tell project "Album"
                                               if (exists album parentFolder) then
** I then would like to check if fileName already exist within the existing album**
** If not existing, I would like to import file f into the existing album as a referenced file**
else if not (exists album parentFolder) then
                                                       make new album with properties {name:parentFolder}
** I then would like to import file f into the new album as a referenced file**
                                               end if
                                        end tell
                                 end tell
                          end tell
                   end tell
           end repeat
    end run

  • Grey Screen with Flashing Folder with Question Mark

    Hi,
I need some help with an issue I'm having on my Mid-2012 Macbook Pro (13"; OSX 10.9.2; 8GB RAM).  I've had issues with this Macbook for the past year.  I've worked with Apple Support and had it into the Mac Store prior to the warranty expiring (Dec 2013).  I have the exact same model with all of the same specs that my employer purchased at the same time for work as my work computer, and I haven't had any issues with that one.
Previously, the system would slow down excessively and eventually start hanging. Occasionally the screen would start flashing.  Apple phone support had me wipe the hard drive and re-install the OS and all of my file, apps, and setting from my Time Machine backup.  That worked for about four months, and then it started again. Since it was getting close to the warranty expiration, I took it to an Apple Store. They ran a bunch of diagnostics, said the hardware was all fine but the OS needed to be re-installed.  They did that in early Dec, and everything was cool again until about three days ago.  Three days ago, it started slowing down and freezing again (even when doing non-memory intensive tasks such as broswing the web with only a couple of tabs open and no other applications open).  Last night, it froze hard and wouldn't shut down, so I had to cold boot it.  When I tried to power it back on, it came to the grey screen with the flashing folder with the question mark (which I know means it can't find the boot sector).  I waited until this morning, and it stil wouldn't boot. I then rebooted into Startup Manager, and the HDD was there. I selected the HDD, and it booted fine and ran fine for a couple of hours (I was able to do a Time Machine backup).  Then it froze up solid again. I waited for an hour or so before cold booting (don't like doing that), and when I tried rebooting, I got the flashing folder with the question mark. I tried booting into the Startup Manager again, but this time, my HDD wasn't listed. I then booted into the OSX Recovery utility (CMD R on boot), went into the Disk Utility hoping to do a disk repair, but my HDD wasn't listed. I have an external SATA to USB adapter, so I pulled the HDD, hooked it to a USB port on my other (identical except it doesn't have problems) Macbook Pro.  Once my other Macbook booted, the HDD from the bad Macbook Pro showed up fine.  I ran a verify and repair disk on the HDD from the bad Macbook, and it didn't show any issues.
So I figured I'd be really brave. I took the HDD from the bad Macbook Pro and put it in my work (good) Macbook Pro (I took the HDD out of my working work Macbook Pro).  It booted fine.  I then did the verify and repair disk (again no errors) and verify and repair permissions (it found a few, but no more than it has in the past). I ran it that way for about an hour with no issues. That led me to believe that the HDD for my personal Macbook was fine, and it must be an issue with the SATA cable or the mainboard.
Here's where it gets odd.  I put the HDD from my work Macbook Pro into the bad Macbook Pro thinking it wouldn't even recognize it.  It did recognize it, and it booted fine.  I ran it like that for about 30 minutes.  It did have a couple of short freeze ups, but it didn't lock up solid. I didn't want to push my luck and possibly damage the HDD for my work Macbook, so I shut down the bad Macbook Pro ended the experiment at that point.
I put the original HDD back in the Macbooks where they originally came from. I then ran the Apple Hardware Test (press and hold D on startup) on the bad Macbook Pro; I did the extended testing option. It ran for about an hour, but it didn't find any issues with the bad Macbook Pro.
I put the HDD from the bad Macbook back in my working Macbook and wiped the disk and reinstalled OSX from a Time Machine Backup from last week (before the problems occured).  Put it back in the bad Macbook and still no luck. Finally I tried resetting the PRAM because I saw that as one of the options on this discussion board.
I've searched and read everything I can find related to this, but I can't find anything that works, and I'm at my wits end.  Can anyone point me in a direction of what might be wrong and what else to try?
    Thanks!
    Mike

You performed thorough and methodical troubleshooting, and this appears to be the most important result:
I put the HDD from my work Macbook Pro into the bad Macbook Pro thinking it wouldn't even recognize it.  It did recognize it, and it booted fine.  I ran it like that for about 30 minutes.  It did have a couple of short freeze ups, but it didn't lock up solid.
Given compatible hardware, you ought to be able to swap hard disk drives in exactly that manner, so it shouldn't surprise you that it worked. However, installing the "known good" HDD in the problem machine should not have resulted in any freeze-ups at all.
You can conclude the hard disks (both of them) are serviceable and whatever fault exists probably lies elsewhere. Often the SATA cable is damaged or not seated properly, and is likely to fail more than anything on the logic board. Inspect the logic board's SATA connections and make sure there are no contaminants or damage. The two drives and two logic boards are going to have slightly different component tolerances, so perhaps the defective one is simply exceeding some limit.
Apple Hardware Test is very cursory and essentially tests for the presence of operable hardware. It is far from an exhaustive test, and only a report of a failure can be relied upon for accuracy. For a more thorough test you would need to have Apple evaluate it using the time-consuming Apple Service Diagnostics. Even then, they may come up without a clue, and eventually someone will suggest a logic board replacement which can be expensive.
It is an unusual problem, and I don't know how much time Apple would invest in diagnosing it before they conclude you really ought to buy a new Mac instead. They might surprise you though in that a "depot repair", if yours is eligible, is a very cost effective option so consider it.
Given your ability you might also consider purchasing a replacement logic board from PowerbookMedic, or even sending it to them for a flat rate repair.

  • Opening a folder with an application in one click, and automating Terminal

A forum member kindly recommended I move a question from 'Mac OS X Leopard' to this sub-forum as it was more appropriate to Unix:
Firstly, is it possible to create a desktop/dock icon (or perhaps a Safari or FireFox bookmark) that opens a folder with a certain application? I'm doing a lot of web development and hoping to create handy buttons for opening up entire folders (Ruby on Rails projects) with only one click. At the moment, I have to find the folder and drag it to the textmate icon; if I had a 'open in textmate' button, that would make my work so much quicker, as I'm often changing between projects. It would be even better if I could have the button as a bookmark in my browser (where I spend most of my time).
    Secondly (probably related to the first question), is it possible to automate a process I follow every time I open up a Ruby on Rails project in Terminal (?);
    1. Load Terminal by clicking on the icon in the dock
    2. 'cd sites/rubyonrailsapp' (where 'rubyonrailsapp' is the rails application I want to load)
    3. 'mate .' (opens the entire /rubyonrails/ folder in TextMate)
    4. 'CMD + T' (to open up a new Terminal tab)
    5. 'gitk --all &' (to open up the Wish version control interface for the rails application)
    6. 'autotest' (to runs the tests in the rails application)
    7. 'CMD + T' (to open up another new Terminal tab, ready for me to use)
If I could follow those steps with only one click, that would be amazing, so any suggestions are much appreciated (I just realised how many times-per-day I'm typing these commands).
    Cheers

you can try this applescript. just copy it into the Script Editor and save it (1) as a script application that you can double-click, or (2) as a script that you can run from the script menu or quickkeys or etc. may need some tweaking...
    <pre class="jive-pre">tell application "Terminal"
set cmd to "cd sites/rubyonrailsapp; mate ."
    do script cmd
    activate
    end tell
    tell application "System Events"
    keystroke "t" using command down
    end tell
    tell application "Terminal"
set cmd to "gitk --all & autotest;"
    do script cmd
    activate
    end tell
    tell application "System Events"
    keystroke "t" using command down
    end tell</pre>
to solve your other question, you'll probably need to script textmate. something like:
    <pre class="jive-pre">tell application "TextMate"
    open alias "path:to:folder"
    end tell</pre>
I don't have textmate to test it on, however.
sorry it's not a unix solution, but the task you're trying to accomplish fits better with applescript.

  • Copy Folder with Joins. Export/Import Folder with joins. In EUL.

Ok, I've got a custom folder which has been made up by dragging items from 2 or 3 other folders into it.
It then has some joins of it's own, quite a few.
When trying to create a workbook from it, it takes 9 mins to run a query.
I need to work out what is slowing it down. If I create the same workbook against the folder which has the majority of the items in the custom folder, it runs instantly.
So I suspect it is one of the joins causing it.
My plan was to duplicate the folder, then remove joins until I find out which one is causing it.
However, if I cut n paste the folder, I get a copy without the joins.
If I export the folder and import it I get a copy without the joins.
Question then - how can I get a copy of a folder WITH the joins ?
I'm slightly concerned that when I export my EUL from the dev database and import it into the live database that I'm not going to get any joins since the export and import into the dev database is not retaining the joins.
    Anyone ?

    Hi,
The preferences for Disco Plus are set in the pref.txt file on the apps server and for Disco Desktop in the Windows Registry. I think the defaults are set on so unless you have changed them this is unlikely to help.
I think I read somewhere that the 11g optimiser will remove unused outer joins or where there is a foreign key constraint. I may have made that last bit up as I cannot find a reference to it, but it may be worth exploring.
To speed things up you could look at why this join is slowing things down. It could be that you need an index on the join column.
The join actually is used, in that it has to check in the other table that a record exists. This is why Discoverer cannot remove the join from the complex folder query. If it did and there where no matching records in the other table then you would get a different result.

  • Folder with question mark keeps coming back

Hello there , i have a problem with my mac pro.
The problem is that every time i start up the mac it can't find my startup disk and then gives me the Folder with ? mark in it.
Some times just do a start up for the second time helps but most of the time i will have to hold the alt button pressed, and then some times i get to choose my start up disk from there but most of the time it then starts up from my boot disk.
When it has started up and i then go to the pref's , select my boot disk and lock the prefs so basicly it would not be able to chance that disk without my password, i find the next time i start it up, with all the same problems, the lock is also no more activated in my prefs.
I tried several things already, resseting power management, pram , Applejack, combo update 10.5.5, repare permissions ...., until now nothing helped solve the problem.
My Mac Pro 8 core, was just back from the dealer to get a new raid card battery and it worked fine for a while.
The startup disk is disk 1 in JBOD on the raid card by the way.
I feel that this problem started occuring after the 10.5.5 and java updates
but since those 3 things came very close together i'm not 100% sure.
I hope someone here can help me out with finding a fix for this problem because i have run out of ideas and i wanna avoid a reinstall of my system .
Thank you for your help ,Data from the Netherlands.

I tried several things already, resseting power management, pram , Applejack, combo update 10.5.5, repare permissions ...., until now nothing helped solve the problem.
I am not ready to say Applejack is as safe as it use to be.
I can say that making a backup with SuperDuper is essential; as is having OS X "EMergency" boot partition or drive (FW, someone said that used 8 or 16GB SDHC memory card).
And use Disk Warrior along with Apple First Aid to repair your drives.
Anytime you zap pram or SMC you have to reset the startup disk, and it sounds like your disk or NVRAM is a problem.
Personally, I like a single fast dedicated boot drive; or, a stripped RAID (and instead of mirror better off keeping a good backup image cloned).
So clone your system only to another drive with SuperDuper.
Repair your boot drive with Disk Utility and Disk Warrior (or TechTool Deluxe/Pro).
If you think 10.5.5 may have caused it, roll back to 10.5.4, that is what backups and making a clone of your boot drive are good for. And always make a backup before you even begin to upgrade the system.

  • Flashing Folder with question mark when turning on

My friend was running MacScan. All the sudden, it was blocked. He waited and nothing happened. He turned it off. Turned it back on, but nothing changed so he took the battery out. When he tried to turn it back on, there was nothing for about a minuted except the grey screen when it turns on until there was (and still is) a flashing folder with a question mark?
    What should he do?
    Thank you!
    Antoine

    Hi Antoine;
Generally the flashing question mark in a folder at boot indicate that the Mac is not able to find a disk with a system on it. It usually indicates problems with the system disk. I would suggest you boot from the install media that came with the Mac. Then run Disk Utility from there to check out the disk.

  • How to create a folder (with subfolders) with Applescript

    Good afternoon,
Filemaker has the ability to ake use of AppleScript.
From within Filemaker I want to create a new folder (with the name of a FileMaker field) that holds 6 subfolders.
I am a complete noob where it comes to Applescript.
This is my script so far:
    tell application "FileMaker Pro Advanced"
set folder_name to cell "FolderName" of current record
    end tell
    tell application "Finder"
         activate
         make new folder at folder "Desktop" of folder "dick" of folder "Users" of startup disk with properties {name:folder_name}
    end tell
    tell application "Finder"
         activate
            make new folder at folder {name:folder_name} of folder "Desktop" of folder "dick" of folder "Users" of startup disk with properties {name:"subfolder"}
    end tell
My problem is: the creation of "Subfolder1"
    What is my mistake there?
    Help is much appreciated
    Dick
Ps: I need to make 6 subfolders there

When you crate a new folder you can define various properties, but when refering to the folder just use the name, for example:
    make new folder at folder folder_name of folder "Desktop" of folder "dick" of folder "Users" of startup disk with properties {name:"subfolder"}
Note that the result returned from making a new folder is a reference to that folder, so you can also do something like:
    tell application "Finder"
set newFolder to (make new folder at folder "Desktop" of folder "dick" of folder "Users" of startup disk with properties {name:folder_name})
      make new folder at newFolder with properties {name:"subfolder"}
    end tell

  • Automator: Create folder with name and subfolders in it.

Hello everyone, my question is related to Automator. I work in a company where we have a huge server. Every time a new job comes in it gets a six digits number and a folder with 5/6 subfolder needs to be created. The main folder will be xxxxxx_nameofbrand and will contain 5 subfolder each one of them starting with the six digit number assigned initially followed by 5 tags (always the same ones).
Everytime it's a long thing to create it manually and copy and paste every number and name, so I thought I could use automator to do it easilly but I always get stucked at the part where I want the 5 subfolder to go in the main one. This is what I had done, but I'm pretty sure there is a faster/easier way to do it.. I'm really new to automator, I know it's potential but don't know how to use it very well..
I thank you all for the help.

For this kind of exception, you can just add a Run AppleScript action at the end of the workflow - for example, the following will rename all folders ending with the specified name that are at the specified depth in the structure:
on run {input, parameters} # remove prefix from folder name
set sourceFolder to quoted form of POSIX path of (input as text)
set exceptionName to "Links" # will find a name ending with this (case sensitive match)
set exceptionDepth to 2 # at a folder depth of this
      set theFolders to (do shell script "find " & sourceFolder & " -name " & quoted form of ("*" & exceptionName) & " -depth " & exceptionDepth)
repeat with anItem in paragraphs of theFolders # rename without prefix
tell application "System Events" to set name of folder anItem to exceptionName
      end repeat
      return input
    end run

    Hello,
It seems same folder exist in destination server that's why job is failing. You need to check destination server and remove the same name/GUID from site then try again.

  • Folder with question mark keeps flashing on startup

I was using the internet on my macbook pro 13 ich late 2011 model this morning while a youtube video was being streamed and it suddenly froze. the cursor was moving though and i thought this must be an issue with the amount of heat the mac was accumalating and i switched it off by pressing the power button.
When I restarted it, the screen was white, it chimed and after a few seconds, a folder with a question mark in it kept flashing.
i Looked up some forums whuch suggested i press option on startup and it only took me to internet recovery mode whilst not detecting a hardrive. i pressed command+R and it took me to internet recovery mode.
finally i called a mac engineer over and asked him to take a look at my computer. he first opened it and checked the connections. he then booted it up, smae problem. after that, he inserted a pen drive with OSX mavericks on it and booted it while option was pressed and this time, disk utility came up, but in disk utility, there was no sign of my hard disk at all and only the USB storage was displayed.he then went on to tell me that my hard disk has crashed and i should get a replacement. But i dont understand why the mac didnt indicate i had any problems with my harddisk at all because i know macintosh to be very meticulous. i've tried everything except for an internet recovery and dont know what to do. the startup manager is also not displaying
please help me as i do not want to want to change my harddrive without my system telling me theres something wrong with it and because i think this guy is trying to fleece me. Please Help. is there anything I can do to fix the problem?

The hard drive or cable is bad.
The system does tell you....well sort of. There's a monitoring system named "SMART"  or self moniitoring,  analysis, and reporting technology) but it's not really all that good at predicting as the following will tell you:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S.M.A.R.T.
It's supposed to monitor your system, but a Google study some years ago on a large number of drives found it's ability to predict wasn't that great.
If it's of any help, the following link provides a list of all drive related utiltiies (or most of them, anyway) for Macs, ranging from the free (like Disk Utility) to open source, to some of the most expensive. It's a good link. Some of the sites associated with them have self help and info pages.
    Here's the link:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1544280
My advice would be 1) KEEP GOOD BACKUPS and 2) Use a tool to periodically scan the drive for errors or developing errors.

  • Folder with question mark on startup after using boot camp!!!

im getting a folder with a question mark on startup after using boot camp. it shows up for a second, then the apple logo pops up and OSX boots normally. i wouldnt be concerned except this folder with the question mark usually shows up when the computer cant find the startup disk or OS. so in fact what is happening is that my macbook cant find the startup disk for a second and then seems to find it. is anybody else having this problem. i dont like it and want to get rid of it. help!!

    This is correct.
I wonder how it can be that in the System Preferences - Startup Disk - OS X volume can become "deselected" like it was... I had to re-highlight the OS X volume and all is well.

  • Can't get rid of folder with !

Here's the long story. I bought this ipod off ebay. I got it today and connected it to my computer. I was trying to configure it once it said it was done I tried adding some songs to it. Not using itunes, using just the removeable E: drive like I did with any other MP3 player. It said that it went on.. but once I tried to reconfigure to my computer it would be connected and then drop off. Showing me the folder with the ! and then the battery with the !. I am now atempting to charge it but I know it is not charging only because I don't see anything on the screen. No flashing battery with a lightening bolt. PLEASE HELP!!
    Thank you.

    Brandy,
This is going to be of limited help but something is better than nothing. I am having a similar problem and got mine to charge by putting it into disk mode before connecting the charger. Mine will only charge in disk mode. This will at least get it ready for more touble shooting.
