Records not populating in BEx report

I have a business content cube which was installed once in august. I run a query from that cube, and got records upto the august. I have lots of new records after august too, but its not coming into my query. I thought I have to update my cube. I don't know how to update ..I went manually to the infopackage and reload the data but the request got failed. So, I deleted the cube and it's content and reinstalled it again. I can see in the infopackage I have more records uploaded but when I ran a query I still see upto the same old date. so, can anyone please tell me how to update the cube? and how to bring my data after the august date?

Hi Sajita,
you should check the status of your requests in the Admin workbench (RSA1), right mouse click the InfoCube and check the status of the requests (there is an indicator whether a request is available for reporting), reasons may be missing aggregate roll up or missing ok status (the traffic light, you can click on it and set it manually). If after deleting everything you still see the old data, then you may even be on the wrong INfoCube with your query. Check the technical names carefully.

Navigational attribute data not visible in BEx Report

Hello All,
I am facing following problem in one of my BEx reports:
I am fetching data from an ODS. With other columns of ODS, I have also to show few navigational attributes( which are master data of some info-object) . In report the corresponding data in navigational attributes is not visible for few records, although when I see the master data of this Info-object (whose navigational attributes I have to include), in Adm. Wrkbench the data is visible. I wonder what step is missing.

While trying to activate the Infoobject's master data (by right-click) I get the following message,
"Lock NOT set for: Loading master data attributes"
And the data is not activated.
Can you please suggest what needs to be done.

Records Not Showing Up On Report

I'm using Crystal XI
I can take the query from "Show SQL Query..." and paste it into a query screen in SQL Server 2008 management studio and retrieve the correct records. However, the report itself does not contain all the records the should have been returned.
To the best that I can figure, the records where a transaction date (date/time field) is null is not showing up on the report. I only display the field, do not do any calculations based on the field.
It is part of the record selection formula, where I test for the field to be between start/end parameters or is null (which produces the correct SQL query as I stated above)
So why are the records not showing up on the report, and more importantly, how do I get them to show up?

It already was set to "Exception for Nulls"
On the other hand, just on a whim, I tried reversing the order of the query from what it was:
{MyQuery.Company = {?Company}
    And
    {MyQuery.Transaction_Date} In {?Start/End Date}
    Or
    IsNull({MyQuery.Transaction_Date})
To:
{MyQuery.Company = {?Company}
    And
    IsNull({MyQuery.Transaction_Date})
    Or
    {MyQuery.Transaction_Date} In {?Start/End Date}
And that seemed to work. I'm not sure why it will work in the Mangement Studio, but not in Crystal Reports, but at least it works.

KF value is not Displayed in BEx Report ..where as cube, mpro end ok..!!

Hello Experts,
I ran a bex report. In that report KF some NetsSalesValue has not displayed in the BI Report for all the Sales Organiations where as other KFs has displayed the value for all the Sales Organizations.
For that i checked my end. BI report is pulling data from Cube --> Multiprovider --> Bex Report.
I myself checked KF value into Cube level, multiprovider KF level value is avaialable.
And also i checked, in the query properties is there any filters, RKF, CKF, but...i found the KF is a basic KF.
And also..i checked the whether the rollup has happened..properly or not and ran the query but no use.
For your info upto 3 days..back KF value has presented in the report. After that only this issue has encounterred.
I am in confusion where the exact issue will be.
If any body faced this kind of scenario is your project, kindly reply me.
For any more clarifications i will respond you immediately.

check aggregates,index etc for cube
check key figure selection as well in Multiprovider for respective Infoprovider
just create test query on Infoprovider and then on Multiprovider and see..
Check RSRT - regenerate the query
also see there are various options like execute+debug has ....just check them

Bex Query Exception Not Appearing In Bex Report

I have a created an exception in a Bex Query and built a report using the Bex Report Designer. But the exceptions that work fine in the query dont seem to work once I've embedded the query in a report. Is this right? is it not possible to use exceptions in a report or do I need to turn something on etc?

Pls refer the OSS # 331772 reg. this limitation. Exceptions if applied will not be dynamic in RD.
Report designer is a flat structure. You cannot collapse or expand the static columns. Hence, Conditions/Exceptions are not supported in Report Designer. You may try alternatively in WAD. It will surely work in WAD for formatted web based reports.

Filters are not working in Bex report

Hi All,
I got a strange issue in my project.
There is a report in Bex analyzer, after got the report result user trying to put filter on one navigational attribute, unfortunaltely filter is not working.
For example:
User ran the report and got the output, now user tried to filter on country with the value"India", but the report showing all the countries in the result.
What could be the problem, I have checked all the settings.
I did not get any clue. Could you please throw some light and help me.

Siebel - BIP Issue: Data is not populating in the report

Hi Guru's
You have any idea why there's no output data in a section of the report? I generated the xml for a record from siebel and tested that with my updated template and it's working fine. All sections are populated. But when I tried to upload it in Siebel the template and the updated xlf (from generated xml) and run the report, one section of the report don't have populated data. It's pretty weird bip. In that section of the report that without populated data, this is the codes:

HI,
Give the same Selections in the list cube same as in Report and run see if there are any values coming in the Listcube.....If u r getting the values then you should get same in the Report....
Check with the authorizations to view the data....

Info obeject discription not apearing in Bex report

Hi All,
We have some queries having 0employee as one of info object. In queries for some employees, it is showing id only in both code & text column and for some employees, it is showing id in code column and blank in text column. when i checked in text table for these employees i can see short,middle,long descriptions. but not showing in report.
Can somebody help getting this resolved please.

i think your are working on the DEV system.
if it is the PRD you will get all master data.
in dev you can check the specific one or 2 records.
we are not getting the text will fallow same sequence.
have maintain object level all texts.

Actual YTD & MTD value is not showing in BEx report....

Dear Experts,
Thank you all for the suggestions and support in solving the issues.
I need your help once again in one of the complicated issues I am facing.
Details :
We are using one report Dealer Target.
This report uses YTD and MTD. It shows the Target value (Planning Cube ) and Actual Sales value ( Actual Sales ). Here we are getting the right value of planning but not picking the actual sales figure from Sales cube.
As we are using YTD and MTD :
Actual YTD should show the a net sales from 1st'April to till date .
And Actual MTD should show the 1st of any month to that date (User input).
But in our case , both Actual YTD and MTD is blank. That means , data is not getting populated.
We are using an USER EXIT for the requirement...
But I am not able to find the way to proceed to find the problem where its getting stucked..

In this case have you restricted Value Type for Actuals as 10 and Budget as 20 ???
This may be the reason why you are not getting Actaul values, pls check for the same.

Master data updation not reflected in Bex report

Hi,
There is a field "Approver" in a report. It will only show the name of the Approver. And recently the same approver name has been changed in MDM system and now the problem is newly changed name is not reflecting the reporting. It shows the only old name in reporting.
My doubt is, what about already loaded record in BW system. Whether changes will be made for the older data. I mean it is possible to overwrite the approver name stored earlier in BW.

Yes, master is always overwritten.
load the new value to the approver Info object.
in RSA1 -> right click --> activate master data.
Initially when data loaded, records will be Modified version. when you perform activate master data then M versions records will turn to A version.
records with A version are only visible in Report.
If your report is on Aggregates, then you have to perform ACR (attribute change run) to update the same new value in aggregate.
you can use the program RSDDS_AGGREGATES_MAINTAIN.

Ship to record not populated in the CDHDR table at the time of creation

I have created the Ship to party in R/3 and automatically i couldnt found the customer number entry with Change object as " I " in the table CDHDR. but ideally all the master data creation entries will be written in the CDHDR table with " I ".
Please help me out here.

In that case, try maintaining only the dates in that table and execute. Once the data is populated, ensure that transaction code is XD01 and not XD02. Moreover, I am not sure, system will show the creation time there. May be you can try in KNA1 where also, you can see the creation date but not time.
As an alternative, execute XD02 for that ship to party where from top menu bar, click on Environment => Account changes => All fields. Again double click on "Entries", so that system will display the creation and changes made to that customer with date. Double click on the first record so that system will show when that particular activity was taken place and at what time.

Data for a node in Hierarchy not displayed in BEx report.

I have a time dependent hierarchy on 0ORGUNIT. There is a report which displays employee wise, ORGUNIT wise data. This report is based on a Infocube which also has 0ORGUNIT updated in it as a charecteristic.
When i view the contents of the cube for a particular orgunit (5000397), employee (5980) for a particular time range (01.01.2011 - 16.01.2011), it gives me some data. However when i execute a report in BEx (7.0) with the same restrictions; it shows 'No applicable data found'.
In the query designer I have corectly assigned the hierarchy properties to 0ORGUNIT with the hierarchy name, version and date (last date of the user entered time range). Also the hierarchy has been uploaded with the latest data i.e. for orgunit 50000397 there is an entry for the period: 01.09.2009 - 31.12.9999.
Can you please suggest.

Can you check and make sure..that there are no other Global filters in the Query Design..

Hierarchy showing not assigned in Bex report

Hi all,
I created an hierarchy on an infoobject, I included this infobject in a cube without populating the hierarchy infoobject in the cube (as I only need it for selection in the variable screen).
However the hierarchy is showing unassigned without relevant nodes; all the nodes are active in the H table.
how can I get the hierarchy to show in the variable screen or report?
please any suggestions on this?

In the Query Designer, you can restrict characteristics by hierarchy or by hierarchy node, on a fixed or variable basis.

Syntax
ASSIGN mem_area TO <fs> casting_spec range_spec.
Effect
This statement assigns the memory area specified using mem_area to the field symbol <fs>. You can assign a data object or a memory area calculated from the address of a data object. After the assignment, the field symbol refers to the assigned memory area and can be used in operand positions. When used in a statement, it behaves like a dereferenced data reference, meaning that the statement works with the content of the memory area.
The data type with which the assgigned memory area is treated, depends on the specifications in casting_spec. You can either execute an explicit casting or the field symbol takes on the data type of the data object specified in the assignment. A field symbol to which a memory area is assigned, has this data type after the assignment and behaves like a data object of this type.
The assigned memory area mem_area must be at least as long as the data type specified in casting_spec and must have the same alignment. If the data type determined in casting_spec is deep, the deep components with their type and position must appear in the assigned memory area exactly like this.
Use the specifications in range_spec to restrict the memory area that can be assigned to the field symbol.
You have to assign it back to internal table to modify the content.
Check in debug mode if you have still doubt.

Using Report-to-Report Interface (RRI) in BEx Report Designer?

Dear experts,
I would like to know if it is possible to use Report-to-Report Interface in BEx Report Designer?
From what I read from this article

Hi Joon,
It is possible to make RRI in BEX Report Designer by using Transaction Code - RSBBS .
Here you need to give the Target Query and Source Query names and than you can easily connect two reports or two levels of same report.
