Recordset error DW CS4 (URGENT)

When I press the + sign then Recordset in the Server Behaviors Panel I get this error: (actually anywhere in DW I try to create or modify a Recordset I get this error).

Help Please! How do I fix this?
FOUND 2 SOLUTIONS:
1. First one deleting the Dreamweaver cache file. That didn't work!
2. Second was renaming the entire Dreamweaver configuration file so that Dreamweaver can create another one (or so I've read). Now it works but my extensions are obviously gone! (I suspected one of the 2 extensions I installed yesterday have smth to do with this error, but the extensions worked great can't really complain about them)
So I HAVE OTHER QUESTIONS NOW:
It is ok to leave it like that with the new configuration file? Will Dreamweaver work with its full features?

Hi David.  Thank you for your reply to the problem that the original poster and I are having with Dreamweaver CS4.  Unfortunately deleting the File Cache did not repair the problem.  I am currenty running Windows 7 Retail and have even changed the Compatibility Mode for Dreamweaver to that of Windows Vista SP2.  I have also tested with no extra extensions installed and still get the problem.  I have used CS4 for over a year and have never seen this problem until I loaded Windows 7.
The original poster was using a Mac from the screenshot and was getting the same problem.  I know that Dreamweaver uses javascript.  Do you think that this could be part of the problem?  The program seems to be working file, but you get this error message everytime you use any server behavior.  It's odd.  I will look for updates for the application.  Any suggestions you may have would be appreciated.  Thank you for your time.

  • Will installing a CS5 trial fix the version cue errors from CS4?

Hi, I was wondering if installing a trial version of CS5 would fix the version cue errors from CS4.
If not, does anyone know a good download of the version cue files? They have all dissappeared from my computer after running the cleanup script and the problem still persists =(

Afterr months of pain and one ephiphany later, i have a simple solution to the issue.
Go into the common files, adobe drive, version cue folder, and drag the files into the recycling bin =)
So theres no need to install cs5 =D
Hope this can help others who still have this issue.

  • "An unidentified error has occurred" when testing a recordset, asp, vbscript, cs4, with dsn or custm

    Hi,
I have created a dsn and a connection string that test fine on my web host (crystaltech), but I get an unidentified error when I test them on DW CS4. Any thoughts?
    This is my connection string:
    "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0; Data Source=D:\inetpub\bnicrossroadsconnections\dbs\members.mdb;"
    which generates this code:
    <%
    ' FileName="Connection_ado_conn_string.htm"
    ' Type="ADO"
    ' DesigntimeType="ADO"
    ' HTTP="true"
    ' Catalog=""
    ' Schema=""
    Dim MM_testConn_STRING
    MM_testConn_STRING = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0; Data Source=D:\inetpub\bnicrossroadsconnections\dbs\members.mdb;"
    %>
The connection include code is here: http://bnicrossroadsconnections.com/connections/testconn.asp
    My dsn code is:
    <%
    ' FileName="Connection_odbc_conn_dsn.htm"
    ' Type="ADO"
    ' DesigntimeType="ADO"
    ' HTTP="true"
    ' Catalog=""
    ' Schema=""
    Dim MM_memberconn_STRING
    MM_memberconn_STRING = "dsn=memberdsn;uid=bnixroads;pwd=pass;"
    %>
The dsn include code is here: http://bnicrossroadsconnections.com/connections/memberconn.asp
    What am I doing wrong?
This is on a Windows server and I have set the file permissions to the dbs folder to allow writes and deletes.
I tried moving a db and dsn from another site, where they work, and I get the same unidentified error on this site. I'm thinking I may have missed something with the host, but don't know what. Crystaltech says everything looks fine at their end, and IE throws no error messages.
    Many thanks!!!

Thank you.  I closed all firewalls and tried it but got the same error.  Then I tried rebooting  and restarting DW to no avail.  So, I started clicking on the commands and on the site>advanced there is a Remove Connection Script command.  I clicked that and retried creating the dynamic table and much to my surprise it worked.  I think perhaps that it was a combination of your suggestion and getting rid of the old script that left it work.  Thanks again for your help.
    Best regards,

  • Could not complete your request because of a program error photoshop cs4

My first frustration right now is that I can't search the forums... anyone got an answer to that? on the right hand side (if I'm logged in) I type in a search for anything and it always shows no search results found! Why? is the search function not working?
Anyway, my problem is that when I try to save a multi-layered psd file into psd or jpg I get this error message: "Could not complete your request because of a program error."
    What is causing it?
I checked for updates and PS is up-to-date. I restarted, and it worked great for about 3 saves (different pictures). (I'm basically running through some shots and just doing a quick levels and curves adjustment and running an action putting in my name watermark.)
After that quick edit and trying to save - same error message again.
It started suddenly yesterday - after having used PS for about 1.5 years without a problem. I haven't done any changes to it as far as I'm aware.
Any one seen this before, or have a solution to this?
    Thanks!
    Computer specs:
    Windows 7 Pro - 64-bit
    12 GB Ram
750 GB OS hdd where PS is installed
2 TB Media drive where the files are being pulled up from/saved to.
    Intel i7 x980 3.33 GHz
GeForce GTX 470 with 1280 MB dedicated memory
    Logged in as administrator.

Did you update or change or plug-in or remove anything else on your computer just before it happened?  Photoshop relies on other system libraries to do things and maybe one of those changed.
No, I did not change anything; I was editing pictures - from a quadding trip where they asked me to shoot for them - and suddenly I started getting the message on most pictures.
Hard drives are not nearly full. (.99 TB free on media drive and 588 GB free on OS {C} Drive)
scandisk error check? I probably need that.. (I've had some problems with BSOD and had the BIOS corrupted recently that I had to flash the BIOS again. Could that cause something like this?)
How do you reset preferences? Is it the Ctrl + Shift + Alt key immediately after PS starts? I did that and it didn't fix it.
Saving in odd location? No, I don't think so; I save to the same place I save other stuff and I have a solid directory base and I always follow the same procedures. I save back into the same folder I open the file from and save back to the same filename + "edit". That way I can compare side by side and have a backup copy of the file.
The only USB device plugged into the computer is a logitech wireless combo of keyboard and mouse. (And a wired USB keyboard that sits to the side and that I use only when the batteries in my wireless dies.
I can't think of anything that has changed that would cause PS to act like this.
If I can't get it working soon, I'll re-install. I have the Production Premium CS4 version - can I just reinstall PS or would I have to do the whole suite?
    Thanks!
PS. I don't know if I was clear enough on what I'm doing: I open anywhere from 1 - 20 pictures at once, and then do a quick level or curve adjustment and save to a different file name. The confusing thing is - some pictures I have no problem with, but others - even though I do exactly the same thing - this error message comes up. I'd say about half of my 107 pictures from the quadding trip refused to save.
It almost makes it seem like some pictures are corrupt or something - and yet, I'd be really surprised to have soo many corrupted images suddenly.

  • Set up error on CS4 Master Collection

I bought and have been running the CS4 Master Collection with no problems for months.
Then suddenly, I got a glitch in my photoshop CS4 and could not repair it. I decided to uninstall the whole CS4 suite only to find that it did not uninstall properly. In the uninstall panel, the suite set up icon remained, even though it showed no more programs in terms of space taken up.
I then tried reinstalling the suite, but got this message:
Setup has encountered an error and cannot continue. Contact Adobe Customer Support for assistance.
Note this is NOT Internal Error 2739. At least not that I know of.
I have since been on various forums and help sites and tried all kinds of ways to get around this - downloading Java Runtime, doing a regsvr32 jscript.dll command in cd ..\SysWow64 through an elevated command prompt as admin. I have deleted all traces of Adobe programs in my Common files folders and anywhere I could find them, but nothing has worked. http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/02/17/how-to-open-elevated-command-prompt-with-administ rator-privileges-in-windows-vista/
I know many others have had this issue, but none of their solutions seem to have worked for me. If anyone has any advice on how I can reinstall my legal and legitimate CS4 Suite, please let me know. I have Vista 64bit Business edition running on a Dell Precision T3400.
    Thanks

I have also run CS4Installer Database Utility, CC
cleaner and done a full registry clean

  • Recordset errors

Hi new poster here. Quick history of the issues I'm having. I was running CF 8 64bit with Vista and had the MS Access driver issue. SO I downloaded CF 9 32 bit version and can now define my datasource for an Access database. No problems there now so that's good. Now when I go and define a recordset for a select query, I add several records to the Select statement and for some reason a particular record I add, CF always puts this record name in parenthesis. i.e. "Size" My database did not have the parenthesis included, but CF adds them just on this record name. With CF 8 it didn't seem to be a problem, but now with version 9 it throws up an error message: adojni.ComException: invalid use of '.','!', or '()'. in a query expression tblSwimwear."Size" in Microsoft JET database engine code 3092
I know this is a lot to digest, but I'm very confused as to what's going on here. Again CF 8 had no problem with the " " around Size. I can even go and remove the parenthesis around Size before I test the select query, and still get the error. If I leave out the Size record, I get no errors.
I will add this so I make sure ';m covering all the bases, but when I defined my datasource, I had to use Microsoft Access Unicode as my driver. Don't know if that would make a difference, but still letting anyone who may can help know. Thanks in advance!

    teedoffnewbie wrote:
I am using Dreamweaver cs3 to build CFM templates
. I use the recordset wizard to build my query.
Again when I did the same thing using CF 8, CF 8 also "put" the quotation marks around the word Size(my DB record name) as well, but it was never a problem. In CF 8 I could either leave the quotes around the word, or if I wanted to, take them out. Either way worked with CF 8. CF 9 however doesn't let me do either one. It automatically, for some reason puts " " around Size and gives the error. When I remove the quote marks I still get the same error.
Again sorry if I am not clear enough, I just started learning CF about 2 months ago.
In response to the next poster, I cannot post my code since it wont let me finish defining the query.
Using dreamweaver and using the developer edition of the CF server running locally on my machine. also can upload the cf templates to my schools web server running CF as well.
OK, so first advice is if you're trying to learn CF: stop using all the wizards and what not, and code your templates by hand.  You will never get anywhere if you rely on the code that DW generates, and if it's anything like it used to be last time I used it, the code it generates is rubbish anyhow, so it's a very poor CF tutor.
Secondly, if you say you can't post your code because it "won't let you finish defining the query" (in the DW query wizard, yes?) then that's a DW problem, not a CF problem.  Anyhow, there's nothing to stop you NOT using that wizard and just coding the SQL by hand (which you should be doing if you're a learner anyhow, IMO).

  • Preview versus Real View Not the Same, Site Definition Errors - Dreamweaver CS4

I am having trouble working on sites where it seems that Dreamweaver wants me to specify different file locations for various "includes" depending on whether I want to view the site as a preview (F12) vs. on a local test server vs. on the real website server.  Note I am using Dreamweaver CS4 (ver. 10) on Windows, my local test server is Apache running via an Xampp installation on Windows, and my production server is also Apache, running at Hostgator.  I am building a fairly basic html site using SSI via SHTML files, rather than PHP or a more sophisticated method.  Here is what seems to be happening:
    1.  In my index.shtml file I call, for example, a subheader file called "header-nosub-menu.inc.htm."  I have my site definitions set to "relative to document root."  Using the insert -> SSI command, Dreamweaver links to the file with the following: My first problem is that, as specified, the subheader.menu.inc.htm file is not found and the preview gives me an error.  I get the same error if i try to display the file on my local test server (http://localhost/domainname).  However, if I upload the file to my production server, it seems to work fine.  If I change the include command to: #include virtual="./includes/subheader.menu.inc.htm," by manually inserting the "./" to change the directory reference, then the file seems to work in all three situations  Which is the correct directory specification, and why is Dreamweaver not generating it automatically?
While I can make the manual changes in the directory specifications, I am concerned that if Dreamweaver is making an error in this instance, it may generate more serious problems that are harder to find later.
    2. The second issue seems to involve the Site Definition file configuration.I get an error message when I set up my site definition in what seems to be the correct way, specifically, using the following specifications:
    Local Root folder:  "C:\htdocs\domainname-dev\"
    http address:   "http://www.domainname/"
    testing server folder:  "C:\htdocs\domainname-dev"
    url prefix:  "http://localhost/domainname-dev"
The error message is: "The site url prefix for the testing server does not match the site url prefix specified in the http address for the site."
However, when I change the testing server url prefix to one that does not yield an error message ("http://localhost") I then have problems with the preview (F12) display.  Specifically, instead of a preview request generating the following url: "http://localhost/domainname-dev/TMPm393xnclqu.shtml" I find that it generates the following: "http://localhost/TMPm393xnclqu.shtml"  The so called incorrect definition seems to be the correct one, but  why is Dreamweaver not recognizing it as such?  Am I making a error somewhere else in my configuration?
I would appreciate any assistance that anyone here can provide,
    Thanks,
    http://localhost/

except for the Apache virtual host configuration, which I do not see a need for
I wasn't suggesting that you use virtual hosts (although I have defined about 50 virtual hosts on my own development machine). I was trying to understand the url you listed:
    http://www.domainname/
Without a virtual host definition, that would have no meaning and could not point to anything, unless you simply were leaving off the TLD in the example. (.com, .net, etc)
I often use the PHP $_SERVER superglobal to define paths and handle differences between the development environment and the remote server environment. Examples:
    DOCUMENT_ROOT: D:/ZendServer/Apache2/htdocs/website/ranch (machine path)
    REQUEST_URI: /topic/calendar (url parameters)
    SCRIPT_NAME: index.php
HTTP_REFERER: (the url of the script preceding the current script)
HTTP_HOST: (this is the domain name. It is very useful for distinguishing between the local and remote environments)
    COMPLETE EXAMPLE:
    echo "<p><a class='noPrint' href='".$_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER']."'>RETURN TO PREVIOUS PAGE</a></p>";

  • Invalid Number Error Please help Urgent

    Hi,
I am trying to create a report in discoverer where in I get an invalid number error for the statement
    ,DECODE(final.TYP,'Sales',to_char(final.future_supplpy),'B/O','B/O') sale_type.
We have the requirement that when TYP is Sales i need to display future supply and when the TYP is B/O i need to display B/O.
The query runs perfectly fine in TOAD but in Discoverer Desktop when i run the report i get an error message
    invalid number.
    Please help its urgent
    Thanks
    Ashwini

    Hi Ashwani
First of all, your statement appears to not be handling anything other than Sales or B/O. Is that deliberate? If not, you need a default, catch all value at the end like this:
    DECODE(final.TYP,'Sales',NVL(final.future_supply,to_char(final.future_supply),'B/O','B/O', default_value) sale_type
You also might want to make sure there aren't any NULL values in future_supply or in TYP and if there are you might want to consider using an NVL for these, like this:
    DECODE(final.TYP,'Sales',NVL(to_char(final.future_supply,NULL),'B/O','B/O', default_value) sale_type
Also, when using DECODE you don't always need to use TO_CHAR as the DECODE conversion to a string typically takes place automatically. CASE is different as it insists that all results are of the same data type.
    Hope this helps
    Best wishes
    Michael

  • CREATING A RECORDSET ERROR "UNIDENTIFED ERROR HAS OCURRED

I am trying to create a record set which is for a mysql database containing images and details about the images.
When using the  Create RecordsSet in Dreamweaver CS4  I get this error whenever I include the filed which holds the image data.
    Mysql Database is as follows
CREATE  TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `phpriot_demo`.`images` (
      `image_id` BIGINT(20) UNSIGNED NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT ,
      `filename` VARCHAR(255) NOT NULL ,
      `mime_type` VARCHAR(255) NOT NULL ,
      `file_size` INT(11) NOT NULL ,
      `file_data` LONGBLOB NOT NULL ,
      PRIMARY KEY (`image_id`) ,
      UNIQUE INDEX `image_id` (`image_id` ASC) ,
      INDEX `filename` (`filename` ASC) )
    ENGINE = MyISAM
    AUTO_INCREMENT = 2
    DEFAULT CHARACTER SET = latin1
It doesn't throw up an error with any of the other fields?  Is there something I am doing wrong?

I had looked at the arguments and had gone with this option but cant get the images to display back in the webpage,  I am having problems in understanding the proxy script correct to enable the image to show,
I agree with Murray that storing images in a database is a bad idea, but if you really want to do it, you can find instructions here: http://cookbooks.adobe.com/post_Upload_images_to_a_MySQL_database__PHP_-16609.html. Dreamweaver doesn't handle file uploads automatically, so you need to edit the script manually.
You can also learn how to display an image using a proxy script in this article: http://cookbooks.adobe.com/post_Display_an_image_stored_in_a_database__PHP_-16637.html.
