Recover ATI Graphics

Hi Folks, HP ENVY 14 Notebook (XQ101AV)Win7x64AMD/ATI Mobilty Radeon 5650 Display Adapter Need some help - had a perfectly functional laptop a few days ago - decided to try the Duet Apple App that allows you to run your iPad as a secondary monitor off your PC... Boy - that was a mistake - must have mangled something with my ATI Drivers and I can't seem to recover... I removed the DUET application in question - I fully removed all my ATI/AMD drivers and removed their associated directories... First I came to HP and downloaded the approved driver package for my laptop (sp50656.exe) and installed it - everything seemed to work fine until I tried to launch any "3D" applications - none of them will work at all - games - 3D modeling - 3D testing - nothing - they all crash or hang when trying to display anything in 3D... I repeated this task multiple times just to be sure it was loading properly... Then... I went to ATI to download the lates Catalyst Suite (15.7) - which seems doesn't support this version of my video card... Still - it installed properly and appears to work - the 3D function seems to work fine again as all the applications I couldn't run previously - work now... The only issue I've notices is that the HDMI port will no longer detect a secondary monitor attached to it... The HDMI port worked fine with the HP package installed previously... I've attempted system restore point recoveries prior to me messing with the DUET display package... Would anyone have any idea as to how I can get back to a functioning HDMI Port and a video card that will run 3D Graphics - I've spent countless hours on this and I'm ready to throw the laptop out the window... Appreciate any help... Regards,
Scott

Hi... Thanks so much for the help... Yes - I tried that - only the laptop monitor is detected... If I uninstall all the drivers and just load the official HP Package - the HDMI port works - but - I am unable to run any 3D applictaions... So I know my cable and monitor are good - I also run other laptops on the same cable and monitor and they work fine... Just a quick summary of the two conditions: OFFICIAL HP GRAPHICS PACKAGE (Catalyst 8.x)HDMI Port WorksUnable to run 3D ApplicationsAMD/ATI MANUFACTURER PACKAGE (Catalyst 15.7)HDMI Port does NOT work3D Applications work fine Due to the fact the problems swap - sure seem to indicate a driver issue and not a hardware issue to me... Could the last OFFICIAL driver update for this model be corrupt ? Is there a way to get an older OFFICIAL driver package from HP to try... I realize my laptop isn't the newest but it worked well up until this issue and I'd like to get back to that point... Again - Thank You !: ) Regards,
Scott

Of note there is a new AMD Catalyst Omega driver released earlier in the week that brings 5K resolution to AMD graphics cards. Here is the link (support.ad.com/en-us/download) to the AMD site. But none of these work with my iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014), Windows 8 bootcamp.
    Please advise.

  • APPLE 30" Cinema Display and ATI Graphics Card compatability

    hi all
I have a 2year old APPLE Dual proc G5 PowerMac 2.0mhz (1.5GB Ram) with an ATI graphics Card which is a ATI Radeon 9600XT 128mb ram.
This currently works well dipslaying via a Apple cinema 23" screen. However i would like to upgrade the screen with an Apple 30" display now. Will the current ATI Graphics card support a 30"display or will i need to replace the card on buying a new monitor..
i was looking at potentially a new ATI X1900Xt card.
any experiences and help please ...
    Thanks Paul

Your existing card will not run the 30" at full resolution. The ATI X1900 XT won't fit because it is not AGP.
The fastest AGP card for your G5 is the ATI Radeon X800 Mac edition
    <http://eshop.macsales.com/item/ATI%20Technologies/100435317/>
It has one DVI dual-link port that will run the 30" display, and one ADC port.

  • ATI Graphics Driver for G62-B53se laptop

I have bought G62-B53se laptop. Core-I5, 4GB RAM. Windows 7 installed. On device manager shows Display Adapeter is Standard VGA Graphics Adapter, but It should be ATI Graphics 5470. I couldn't find the driver on website. How can I get this?
Windows rating for Graphics is 1.0.
    Appreciate your help.

    Hi:
According to the product number for your HP 630, you need this graphics driver...

  • Catalyst Control Center ATI graphics card error message

This error message keeps popping up:
"The Catalyist Control Center is not supported by the driver version of your enabled graphics adapter. Please update your ATI graphics driver or enable your ATI adapter using the Displays Manager."
I have the latest driver and as far as I can tell, it is the only driver it is possible for me to "enable." Why does this message keep popping up and how do I stop it?
    Thank you.

    Uninstall the catalyst control center.
Download the most recent display driver from Lenovo - not from ATI.
    Uninstall the existing display driver.
Install only the display driver - do not install catalyst control center.  It is totally unecessary in this computer, in my opinion.  Both XP and Vista do a simpler job of managing displays.

  • MacBook Pro late 2011 not switching to ATI graphics when running off mains power.

    Hi there.
My MacBook Pro late 2011 doesn't appear to be switching to ATI graphics when running off mains power. It always seems to stay on the Intel adapter instead. I've checked the option in the energy saver settings and it's ticked to "Automatically switch..." and when I untick this box, it switches to ATI and stays that way even when running on battery (as expected). Either way it will not switch to ATI graphics when plugged into mains unless forced to in this way.
Any one else seen this? Very frustrating when trying to run an external monitor with the Intel adapter!
    Thanks in advance.
    Dan

"As a last resort I opened the bottom cover and disconnected the battery power plug (MagSafe adapter also disconnected)."
After everything was disconnected did you press the power button and walk away for 5 minutes? Try that, just had one restart after waiting for that long.

  • Can I use ATI graphics cards in SLI in MSI-7100?

My stupid-question-ometer is going off the scale, but I don't know the answer; can I use ATI graphics cards in SLI in my machine?
Also, whilst I'm at it, according to my knowledge, AMD are considered, in general, the lowest cost per unit power. Is it the same with ATI or nVidia - which generally offers best value?

And can you refine your other question, please. For one, ATI and AMD is one company now. Intel and AMD/ATI mostly have processors that in normal run are equal, but Intel has more refined top-end processors. In benchmarks Intel's normally score higher.

  • Has anyone else overclocked an Emac with ATI Graphics

I ran accross this the link below when researching if my Emac 800 w/ ATI graphics can be overclocked:
    http://www.lbodnar.dsl.pipex.com/eMac/eMac-upgrade.html
This person made it sound pretty easy and the thought was that this processor was actually underclocked by Apple in it's 800 MHZ version at the time, and could be run without overheating up to 1.33GHZ or higher. I however, could not make a lot of sense of how the soldered jumpers are laid out in the pictures and am not very experienced at soldering, so I am not racing off to pull the motherboard out of my Emac to do this mod. It seems like a great concept that a major speed increase could be had with just a couple of hours with a stready hand, a decent soldering gun, and some know-how of what you are doing.
Has anyone else tried this in the 5 years since this article was posted, as it seems like it would be a great upgrade?
    Steve

Actually mine predates the eMAc s with the capacitors issues (the USB 2.0 models).
I just though it was interesting that there were all these people teying that upgrade 5 years ago but no one has posted anything online about it since.
Makes you wonder if most of those overclocked systems self destructed after 6 months.
The only way I'd probably try it is if I located a cheap 800 MHZ system board somewhere and felt more confident about soldering in the first place (therefore I'd only be out my investment in the extra board if it didn't work).
I was wondering if anyone else had done this mod in the past several years.

  • Install Windows, ATI Graphics Won't Install/Resolution Poor/Speakers Don't Work

    Hey Apple Community,
I recently installed 64 bit Windows Home Premium on my 2011 MB Pro after getting it back from repair. I had Windows on it last time and it worked great, but this time I'm having some major problems. I followed the bootcamp assistant and Apple's online, downloaded all the windows software, etc. Partitioned the hard drive, formatted the bootcamp disk when asked, and it installed all the bootcamp stuff from bootcamp assistant.
However, it failed to install some files when it was on "ATI Graphics" - the installed stalled forever, and said some files were missing or corrupt. I was able to continue with the installation, and it loaded into Windows.
The resolution on Windows is terrible at 800x600. I went to Display and I can't even select my normal 1440x900 resolution like on my Mac side or like I previously had it on Windows. I tried to run the set up from the flash drive again, and it again failed on ATI Graphics.
Additionally,  all my keys worked (such as lowering screen brightness, etc), but my speakers do not work. The icon shows up when hitting the keys, but no sound is produced.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I don't have too much technical knowledge but I have some and can try to implement any solution.
(I have no idea why it worked last time but not this time :/)

you have to install the apple bootcamp drivers

  • Why can't I see my ATI graphics card

I bought LENOVO ThinkCentre Edge 72 last year (I don't know the exact model, is it marked on the case somewhere?) and was under the impression that it has an ATI graphics card, but when I go to the devise manager I can only see an "Intel(R) HD Graphics" under Display adapters. Why is this, maybe I was wrong and it doesn't have an ATI card?

Launch Disk Utility and repair permissions for the Mac OS X containing harddisk, reboot and see if the problem solves on its own. Sometimes software installation messes up some drivers ( kexts ) to load properly that worked before. Repairing permissions is a standard routine that can help some weired issues. You can also try to reinstall the latest OS X update 10.5.8 to reinstall drivers that might have become damaged over time.
If the camera or Cardreader came with specific OSX software I would suggest a reinstallation of that.
Resetting the PRAM ( to fix corrupted preferences ) would be also a advise.
All in all OSX can run with no problems for months, but sometimes the underlying UNIX architecture just needs a bit of mainteance; the permissions are always a starting point to fix.

  • Why does the ATI Graphics Driver p6624y taking forever to install

my HP advisor suggested I install an ATI Graphics driver update ... p5524y ... so I am attempting to do so.  It set a restore point, checked available disk space, connected and downloaded rather quickly ... but the INSTALL/APPLY is taking forever (been running in excess of 1 hour now with 0% showing on progress bar.

    Hello KenBayPark,
Have you tried stopping the update and attempting to install again? It could of just been a glitch.

I have installed ATI graphics driver from Toshiba, but when I restart the laptop, it won't boot up, keeps restarting just before surposed to go onto windows XP. Please help.

i have the same problem. It looks like graphic card stopped working in SVGA mode, it is possible to boot Windows by enabeling VGA mode or choosig save mode on F8 screen. Reinstalling drivers didn`t help. Even reinstalling Windows didn`t help:(
blue "screen of death" shows this
    <...>
"The device driver got stuck in an infinitive loop. This usually indicates problem with the device itself of with the device driver programming incorrectly.
