Recover from disable without restore?

My daughter's friend disabled her phone enough times it is no longer giving her a time limit before she can get back into her phone. She has never backed up her phone AND she knows her passcode. Please tell me there is a way to gain access without having to restore and thus lose all her information.

If you can't restore from your backup you could try 3rd party software such as iPhone Backup Extractor to see if you could extract your notes from the backup.

You cannot now. The only way to reset the passcode and remove the disabled status is to restore the device. There is no way to make a new backup now. That is actually the whole point of the passcode attempt limitation and the disabling of the device - to keep someone without the passcode from getting at your data. Once disabled, your sole single recourse is to restore it in order to be able to do anything with it.
At this point you can restore from your existing backup, or as new. Either way, you've already lost the current data on the device.

Recover from hotbackup without archivelog-for help

Because user error, three tables are deleted on may 1,2007. so, I restore db datafiles from tape, which is hot backup on apri 21,2007.
Copy the datafiles to other os,and recover.
But, the archivelog required is lost.as follows:

the datafiles have been consistent.

Recovering from an AD restore

Hi all,
We had an incident on our network that causes our AD team to have to restore active directory to a point several hours ago. Durring the incident, Identity manager attempted (and succeeded on many) updates to the AD. The restore has rolled those changes back and we are now wondering how we can "replay" those tasks that IDM ran during the time that we are out of sync. There is a large variety of changes (group adds/removes, user disables, new user setups, etc.) and we do not want to neccissarily send mails to all the requestors asking them to re-request the changes. Is there some way we can re-send and replay the requests so we can get back in sync? We are using IDM 6 SP1.

thanks. this worked! the one thing is that the import naturally imports the encrypted passwords. There was one problem that the passwords went through a character set conversion, so I no longer new them. With a little help from Sergio (drat! I should have been ale to figure it out on my own!) I worked that out.

How do I remove an email address from AutoFill WITHOUT RESTORING?

A few years ago, I accidentally typed an email address with a "." in it, and ever since, I keep sending emails to the wrong address.
I've removed it off of my Hotmail account etc, but the iPhone keeps remembering it as autofill, and it shows up before the real email address.
Because I did this shortly after I bought the phone, I cant restore back to that date, and I'm absolutely not willing to restore the phone.
There has to be a setting, or file somewhere on the phone that can be deleted?
(perhaps access it through my Mac/Windows?)

You can "try' editing the cache that stores this data using something like this:

How to recover from failed ipsw restore

I tried to downgrade my iPod Touch (2nd gen.) to 3.1.3 in order to have a device to test an App I'm developing with the older OS before submitting it to the App Store.
The downgrade failed, with "device not eligible for requested build". But apparently it only realized this after totally wiping the iPod. All that appears on the screen is a USB plug, an arrow, and an iTunes logo.
OK, so I'm supposed to plug it into iTunes. Great, I did. But iTunes doesn't recognize that there's anything connected to it. Neither does XCode. So how do I install some version (any version) of iOS so I can use the iPod again?
I can't even use Apple's Express Lane support, because I can't get the device to tell me its ID if iTunes won't recognize it.

Sorry, this was easy to fix. All I had to do was exit and restart iTunes. Then it recognized the iPod in recovery mode.
It hadn't occurred to me that restarting iTunes could help. I'd tried power cycling the iPod, connecting and disconnecting the USB cable, and holding down the Home button while connecting the cable. None of that did any good.

Way to erase all data without restore?

I just got off the phone with apple and they tolf me to take the phone to verizon for exchange due to wifi issues. I don't really want to go through the whole restore process plus Verizon may not like it restored in order to check it out. If I use erase all content under the reset function, will that securely remove all data?

Ipod Touch 2G with passcode, says connect to iTunes then iTunes says type in passcode but can't b/c it's disabled, can I fix it without restoring it or no?

You'll have to restore your device: iPhone and iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.

You can't bypass it, you will need to connect iPad to a computer's iTunes, and you may need to put it into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 - you should then be able to reset the iPad, which will remove all content from it.

If you haven't already, restart the ipad by holding home and power for ten seconds until the apple appears.
There may be an app that is draining the battery.
Try the following:
1) Kill all apps by double-tapping the home button, then holding any app's icon until it displays the ' - ' symbol. Touch the ' - ' symbol on all apps. This stops the app.
2) Go to airplane mode to turn off wifi and 3G, if so equipped.
3) recheck the battery life by using an offline-only app, like a game, for an hour or so and see if the battery seems to last longer than before.
Typical battery life is a drain of 10% per hour. Your mileage may vary.
If the battery is lasting longer, you need to isolate what is causing the drain.
4) If still rapidly draining, try going to Settings, General, Reset, reset all settings.

To recover it at this point you need to restore it using the computer it was last backed up to. This will remove the passcode.

Then I lost all the current controlfiles and I make the following steps:

You restored the controlfile from backup but not the full DB. The Database files header are not sinchronized with your controlfile.
Follow the following steps:
1) Mount your Database and create a backup of the controlfile using:
SQL>ALTER DATABASE BACKUP CONTROLFILE TO TRACE;2) Modify the trace file and recreate the controlfile.
3) At this stage your database is mounted. You need to recover it.
SQL> recover database;
Media recovery complete.4)Open the database after recovery completes.
SQL> alter database open;
