Recover "Missing" link from Library?

Hi All,
Somehow, I pulled a real bonehead move: In Library view, under Catalog, there were originally 4 options: All Photographs, Quick Collection, Previous Import, and Missing. Somehow I managed to delete the "Missing" option.
Is there any way to restore that option to the list?
I'm using LR 3.3

How to recover missing data from PCL4 cluster

Hello experts,
Is there any way to recover missing data from PCL4 cluster ?
We recently found that some data related to W2 production run for past years was missing in the PCL4 cluster. Tables T5UXX & T5UXY has entries with the filing dates but certain data is missing in the cluster related to those table entries.
Would there be any specific reason for such a data loss ?
Has anyone come across this issue earlier and found resolution on the same ?

When you delete PCL4 entries for production runs, the corresponding
control information in tables T5UXX and T5UXY also will be deleted. A
control number may be used for more than one Form number (in Tax
Reporter control tables). Therefore, if a control number that is
assigned to the Form number to be deleted was also assigned to other
form numbers, then this control number information from T5UXY will not
be deleted. These details will be displayed in the program results.
However, if all Form numbers that were assigned to this particular
control number were deleted, then the control information in table T5UXY
for the control number will be deleted automatically as the last
dependent Form number is deleted."
Following we have two questions:
o Was PCL4 deleted?
o Did the W2 generate without errors?
Basically if the PCL4 data is corrupted, then we have 2 options to
rebuild the PCL4 Cluster:
1. Delete the existing PCL4 & rerun the production run with the same
   As of date.
2. Overwrite the production results without deleting PCL4 data but with
   different As of Date.
If the Employee data is not changed after your
actual production run then overwriting the results will not cause any
difference in the PCL4 data.
Secondly, if you dont want PDF spools or magmedia layouts to be
generated during overwriting of production run, then kindly uncheck
the following on the PU19 screen, so that only PCL4 data is rebuild :
1. Uncheck Employee Copy
2. Uncheck Authority Copy
3. Uncheck Magnetic table"

Recovering missing tracks from back up copy

Somewhere along the line I stuffed up & I now find that I have many more tracks loaded onto my iPOD than I have in my itunes library. I must have deleted them somehow when I was trying to update the album art by cutting & pasting. What I do have is a duplicate copy of my entire 'My Music' folder that I made a couple of months back.
I'm pretty sure that I could set itunes to look for & import songs not in my current library. What I'm worried about is that I noticed that itunes is very poor when it comes to warning you about duplicate files. Is there some easy way to recover these files from the old backup without getting everything duplicated? I should point out that all the music came from my old CD's & isn't copy protected if that makes any difference.

Here's what I would do.
Go to your backup copy of your iTunes folder. Copy the missing file you notice per CD and put back in your main iTunes library (on your hard drive).
Then open iTunes and click & drag the file over into iTunes... It will reindex it and then sync on next connection.
Is that clear? To reitterate a different way
1 - Find the backup file missing
2 - Copy the music file back into your real itunes folder
3 - Click & drag this file back over your iTunes window
4 - let iTunes reindex
5 - connect ipod

Recover missing files from FAT32 SD card?

I got back from a trip and used the SD card slot in my MacBook Pro to import my photos -- first into Aperture, and then using Image Capture to make a second copy as regular image files. Then I used Image Capture to delete the files from the card.
So far, so good....except nearly 300 photos have are missing -- the last 300 I took on the card. If I look at the card in the Finder now (it's FAT32), there aren't any photos on it. But there is still over 3GB of data, suggesting the missing photos' data is on there somewhere.
Any suggestions for how to recover it? TechTool Pro doesn't see the card at all (maybe doesn't support FAT32?).

You can follow the way to see how to recover deleted files from sd card. Connect the data cable for the card reader to an empty USB port on your computer. Insert the SD card into the external or built-in card reader. Right-click the Recycle Bin icon on the desktop, then click "Open." Highlight and select the deleted files on the SD card you want to restore to the device. Right-click one of the selected files on the SD card and then click "Restore." Besides, you can also use Data Recvoery to restore your data even your SD card is damaged.

Delete missing link from AI file

How do I delete a missing, unwanted linked file from an AI file? The referenced link is completely gone and is not needed. It can't be relinked or removed since it no longer exists. It is has been a phantom for as long as I have been using the AI file and I would like to clear the "Could not find the linked file" pop up every time I load the AI file. Any suggestions?

This is the method I received from Adobe:

Worked for me. BTW the Illustrator file I was working on (and which I did not create) had more than 250 linked files, which I deleted one at a time according to the method. So it's clear why it would be advantageous to have a "select all broken links" / "delete all" option.

Had to restore pc and now missing videos from library

We had to restore out pc and most of my itunes library is still there but the videos I had recently added are gone. My question is....when I hook up my iPod will iTunes delete the missing files from my iPod and how can I prevent this from happening when I want to sync. Gratefull for any help on this

Hi Marie, glad I could help. If I'm not mistaken, you will have to,unfortunaly, plug your Ipod to your computer first, then when it appears on ITunes you can un-check the sync option.
I'm not sure but the safest way to do it, is to plug your IPod to another computer. It will ask you if you want to sync the library, click no. Then when your ipod appears on Itunes, un-check the sync option or the " open Itunes when I connect my Ipod" option.

DMS EKKO missing link from Object side

Hello,
i have created a new Document typ with Object links: IFLOT (functional location), EKKO (Purchase Order) (We have created a new Screen 9001 and implemented it in SAPCV130, SAPCV130 and set all needed customzing settings.) and LFA1 (Vendor).
My questions:
1. I could not find a link (or Button) on Purchase Order side in transaction ME22N/ME23N to open the assigned Documents.
How can I implement this link?
2. If I create a DIR in CV01N, I like to type the value in Object link EKKO (Purchase Order) manual and the system has to take the value LFA1 (Vendor) automatic from the Puchase Order.
How can I solve this request?

under
Cross-Application Components
>> Document Management
   >> Control Data
      >> Maintain Key Fields
if the entry 'EKKO ME33K EBELN' exists. Please make sure that the
transaction code ME33K is maintained here too.
To grant that allways the currenct screens and authorizations were
called please maintain also the value "1" into the "Authorization"
column. For further informations on this maintainance please see the
SAP note 1066915. It's important that you not enter the mentioned
screen number wihtout the leading "1" as this number is added
automatically by the system (e.g. object MARA 1201 maintain like MARA
201). You can do this in customizing under:
Transaction SPRO
> Cross-Application-Component
    > Document Management
         > Control Data
             > Define screen for object links
If you need the dynpro number or object you will find all standard SAP
objects and their screen number in function module CV130 (Screens) by
transaction SE80. Please maintain all necessary SAP objects.

Missing content from library, downloaded app on phone that probably did it, what do i do

I downloaded an app on my samsung galaxy s3 and it let me move my music from itunes to my phone. It turned out something was wrong with the phone so I got a new one. I wanted to get my itunes music on my phone but not through the app so i went to my itunes library and i only had the 7 songs i moved to my phone but i know i have a lot more. I tried contacting apple but itunes does not have it's own serial number. I want to recover all of my songs so what do i do?

okay from reading posts it seems if I transfer my backed up info from my old comp to the new one and erase my dad's phone's back up i could reset my phone and it would transfer all my old data back onto the phone, be linked to the new computer and i could proceed. Where do i find the backed up info from my phone?

How do I recover missing icons from my Safari menu?

Can anyone advise as to how to recover some missing toolbar icons I placed in my Safari menu at the top of my screen/above the bookmarks bar? Specifically, when I clicked on the toolbar icon for "downloads", that used to be there, it just disappeared, gone baby gone! At the same time, I noticed that the Stacks Download Folder, that installed with the Mountain Lion OS 10.8.5 in the Dock, is now also gone. Where did they go?

For the Downloads icon. From your Safari menu bar click View > Customize Toolbar.
Drag up the default toolbar.
You need the folder for the Mountain Lion installer in the Dock.

Missed files from Library on Mavrix

i had some hidden files in the old Library folder before i update to Mavrix, i lost them now

Aperture being unable to move deleted items from its trash to the system trash is indicates a problem with the trash folder on the external volume.
Each external volume has a .Trashes file located at the root of the volume. There have been numerous reports of people having problems similar your's. Though you are the first person to be running in the manner you described.
If you Google OS X trash or something similar you will get a number of hits describing the problem and possible solutions.
The basic fix is to delete the .Trashes folder and all its subfolders and then umount and remount the volume. The .Trashes file will get recreated. In most cases this fixes the problem. I've never tried it on an encrypted sparsebundle so I can;t say for sure if it will work for you.

Missing Photos from Library with Revel Premium

I use Photoshop Elements 13 and upgraded to Revel Premium recently. My issue is that only part of my library uploaded to Revel. I have the option checked to upload the entire library, and I tried restarting the synchronization agent several times, but basically all my photos between late 2009 and mid 2014 didn't upload. Pre-2009 and post-August 2014 photos uploaded correctly, and about 7000 photos (out of a total library of >14000) are available. Any suggestions

Can you please let me know what is the status shown on Elements Agent? It would be great if you can attach snapshot. Also just to let you know Elements Organizer only upload JPEG and RAW to Revel. So the files which are not uploaded, what is the format of these files?
Also can you try to import and upload a new (sample) JPEG to your Revel account and see if it uploads or not.
Also please let me know the OS and architecture (32 or 64 bit)?

Recovering an old iPhoto library from a Leopard Time Machine backup

Hello
I have an mini lacie usb disk with some old TM backups from an imac when it was running Leopard a few years back. The imac is now running Lion. There's a problem with the Lacie disk, however, - invalid key length etc Disk Utility can't repair the disk.
Is there any way to recover just the iphoto Library (58GB) from the last Backup that was made on that disk?
If I just try and drag the iPhoto icon across from the last backup I get a permissions issue.
Any ideas?

I don't think that you can just drag a folder (the iPhoto icon is really a folder) from the TM backup (due to the way TM uses hard links).
You can try to repair the TM Disk with a 3rd party app (i.e. DiskWarrior), as sometimes they can repair what DU cannot.
You can also try an alternative TM interface to see if it can read the TM disk (i.e. Back-in-Time)

Files missing from library after archive and install

Hi forum folk
any help you could give would be much appreciated.
I can't seem to verify my permissions on HD. I have run disk utility both from finder and from my OSX startup disk and consistently get the error message "Disk Utility has lost its connection with the Disk Management Tool and cannot continue." I then reinstalled the operating system all together making sure to archive and install as well as archive previous network and preference settings. This means I am running 10.3.4 at the moment (and I can't verify any of the software updates at the moment). After reinstalling I still cannot verify my permissions, so now I am trying to back up all my files so that I can reinstall the OSX again, erase everything, and start from scratch. But I'm running into some very strange problems while doing this. select files are missing from ~/library. there is no Safari file, for example. I tried looking in HD/previous systems/library where my library files were saved before I reinstalled the operating system but there is no such folder in there either. this means all of my bookmarks are gone. additionally, under library/preferences (in both the old and new library folders) there is no file named com.apple.itunes.plst. so all of my itunes playlists are gone as well. these are the only missing files I have found thus far and i can't explain why they selectively would not have been saved after the archive and install. Everything else seems to be intact. Any ideas?

Thanks for this update. What is the total formatted capacity of your HDD? I ask because I suspected that you might be cutting it pretty close. The rule of thumb is that you should have 10-15% of your total capacity available as free space. My personal rule is 15%-20%. This allows for more efficient perfomrance of OS X.
I am in the process of backing up everything on my seagate combo USB 2.0/firewire 200 GB external (I am using the firewire cord)
Having an up-to-date backup is one of the primary rules, often observed more in the breach than not. Since you have an HDD that supports Firewire, I suggest that you make a bootable clone of your entire HDD using SuperDuper. You can then use this backup as an emergency boot drive. However, it must be Firewire, as PPC Macs don't boot from USB devices.
I also have heard that it is advisable to reinstall the OS "every now and again" and I hadn't done this for at least two years. was I ill-advised?
Most experienced Mac users never re-install, except under dire circumstances. Since installing my new HDD in this computer I have never re-installed. Re-installation is the utlimate intrusive measure, and it exposes one to all kinds of issues, from lost data, to flawed installaton, to installations that fail midstream. Re-installation is not an effective maintenace procedure. Here are some helpful links in terms of maintenance:

I'm going to restart now and try and verify my permissions again using the procedure on the above link. I'll let you know what happens.
Instead of verifying permissions, just go ahead and Repair Disk Permissions. Verifying permissions does nothing, and wastes your time, as it is difficult to tell whether you need to repair, and you have to repair anyway.
Do post back with an update of your progress and any further questions or comments.
