Recover my collections

I got the error message "... the Organizer database is damaged...", then Adobe Acrobat resets itself, and my collections are missing. This is an usual error as I read in several forums, but it seems that most of the people does not care about their collections. I spent long time organizing more than a thousand of papers, then I need to recover my collections. Does anybody could help me? Since repairing Adobe Acrobat won't solve this.

You've tried tapping on the Collections button at the top of the bookshelf to see if they are in a different collection ? If not then do you have a copy of them in the Books part of your computer's iTunes library (though PDFs aren't iTunes purchases, if you've done 'transfer purchases' whilst they were on the iPad then they should have copied over) ?
ibooks and PDFs aren't included in a device's backup, so if they aren't in your computer's iTunes library and/or you don't have your own backup copy of them then they won't be on your computer (for info there isn't an iBooks app/program for a Mac or PC).

  • Any way at all to recover music collection?

Sooooooo, I've been gathering my music collection on MP3 since I was 14, I'm now 20 and have an absolute ***-load. Unfortunatly my laptop recently experienced a fatal crisis and all data held hence was lost forever.
I've now bought a new laptop but the only place I have my much loved music collection safe is on my 5th Gen Ipod, I'm not one to trust any piece of technology to safely guard my music and was wondering if there was any way sensible or otherwise to recover my music so I can back it up safely?

For iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
For all other non purchased music (your own CDs etc) try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Enable your iPod for disk use.
    See: iPod Disk Use.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it is a little more involved than other methods.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.
    SharePod is also freeware.
If you want to recover just the structure of playlists from the iPod (and not the actual song files themselves), there's iRepo for Windows. which I understand has this feature along with all the standard features for these programs.

  • Recover deleted collection members

    Hi All,
Need some direction in handling a situation where there was a deletion of members in one of the collection which resulted in removing all reporting SCCM clients from all collections. This went unnoticed as the main admin was on vacation. Now we have new
collection members and have a DB backup which has the old collection members.
What would be the best way of getting the data from the backup restored to the production so we have the collection members in all collections as before, maintain the newly made changes after the deletion and ensure that this process does not rerun the advertisements
on the end users system during the entire process.
    Thanks in advance
    -Vijay

The resources have come back in All systems and are missing from the advertised collections as they were added as Direct members. We are now checking if there is a way in adding these machines (manually if needed) without triggering the advertisement.
Is there a way you can guide me in that way or something similar. We do not want the end users getting the advertisements again and majority of them having to get the customization back after the re-install caused

  • How to recover missing collections

After my trial version of LR4 expired I have had a few problems with LR3.
The problem now is that it seems the Collections I created while using LR4 trial version are not listed in the LR3 collection panel. As of yet I'm not sure that those are the only collections that are missing. I do have LR backed up (every time I shut down LR) but I don't know how to go about importing the collections or where to find them. I don't see "Collections" in the backup folder.
    Any assistance will be appreciated.

Given this, can I assume that if I install LR4 from a LR4 disc I will have the collections I created in LR4 trial version and all previously created collections available in the Collections panel ?
    Yes
I didn't create any new catalogs.
Actually, you did, you just don't know it. Your LR3 catalog was upgraded to LR4.
If so, would it be a stanard install or is there a special procedure for assuring LR3 collections and collections created in LR4 trail are integrated into one whole collection group in LR4 ?
    Normal install should do it.

  • Importing Colletions from other Catalogs

    System: Mac OS X 10.4.11; PPC G5; LR 1.4.1
I've recently sustained damage in my catalog which causes LR to "Unexpectedly Quit" on a regular basis. By creating a new catalog, and doing a fresh import the catalog appears to be stable. However, I've lost all my Collections.
Is there any way to go to a backup catalog and "export" or in some way recover the Collection data, and bring it into the new, working catalog?
    =Alan R.

    I haven't tried this.
Export the collections to a new catalog, and import them into the one you have working now. File menu. Export as catalog (do it with the collections checked).

  • How to get photo stream back on iOS 8??

Hey guys, I updated to iOS8 on my iPhone 5S. After updating, all my photos in photo stream are gone. I know Apple did some changes in iOS 8, but these photos should be recovered in Collections, right?  Because I also updated my iPad 2 to iOS 8, using same Apple ID, the photos are back in Collection. Somehow, my 5S refused to do that...just few of them came back... Tried close iClound, logout, login, re-open, wait long enough, even restart the phone, nothing.
    SO......HELP ME HERE PLZ!

    Hi alfuture,
It sounds like you may be having some issues finding your pictures in iOS 8. Here is an article that should be able to help you address this:

  • Some confusion about files on the hard drive and those in LR

i have been importing files directly into LR and at the same time creating a folder in My Pictures where the original files are stored.  i then edit in LR.
in order to save and then backup up edited files i export them to another folder marked "fotos 2010 LR", the first folder being "fotos2010'.
my confusion is having both folders.  i know that if i delete the original folder it will also delete those corresponding files in LR.
reading this over now i suppose i could export to "fotos2010" folder and write over original files but im afraid to do that.  is that a good idea?
am i doing something wrong?  i feel like i'm missing something about LR works.
    thanks
    harvey

The best way forwards rather depends on how far you have gone with your 'new' catalog.
On the one hand you have an 'old' catalog that contains your edits and your collections, but because you moved the original files and folders outwith LR the catalog, and it's record of the files it knows bout, is 'disconnected' from the source files.
On the other you have a 'new' catalog that knows where all the pictures are but doesn't have your changes and collections.
If you haven't done much work with the new catalog you might be better to open the original catalog and update it with the location of files it has lost sight of. In library mode right click a directory showing errors and select 'Update folder location'. Depending on the scale of your mix up this might be quite time consuming, proceed slow and sure and all will be OK in the end. What you won't have after this is any work you've done in the new catalog.
If you've done a lot of work in the new catalog then you are better off staying with it and trying to recover work from the old catalog. You'd have to do the updating of links discussed above first but having done so you can then write the changes made by LR out to the original pciture files. The 'picture' doesn't change but the file now has a list of changes applied by LR stored in a manner that can be interpreted by LR and other programs (technically not within the file itself but an associated side-car file). With the old catalog open select 'Save metadata to File', with the appropriate pictures selected. Once the data has been written out you can open the new catalog and 'Read Metadata from Files' to get the new catalog to be aware of the changes held within the picture file. That won't recover your collections however, I think you're stuck there. I don't know of a way to 'export' a collection and 'import' it into a new catalog. Given that a collection is essentially a list of picture files that LR knows about I can't really see how it would be possible given that the original problem is that the old and new catalogs have a different idea of where the original source photo files are.
My gut feel - Unless the help here has made you pretty confident I'd stick with the new catalog, take the hit and recreate the collections from scratch.
    Cheers

  • Restore a photoshop elements 5 backup.tly to CC

I would like to restore a photoshop elements 5 backup.tly from dvd. Actual i do use Creative cloud PS CC. Lightroom etc. but no elements. Any worktrhrouhg without installing elemensts?

    fotogen11 a écrit:
Thanks for this suggestion. I tried, but pse 13 dienied the import, because pse 5.5 tly is not longer supported...
    Any other possebility?
    Yes.
It looks like the conversion of catalog versions from Elements 5 must be made when converting to 64 bits Windows versions:
    http://www.elementsvillage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=82741
So, you could download the catalog converter to create a valid PSE13 catalog.
Now, the problem I see ist that the current Lightroom version (5.6) is not yet able to convert PSE13 catalogs . I am confident that the next LR version will include that possibility.
I doubt you could download a trial version of PSE12, which would solve your problem, but maybe other forum members could suggest a solution?
Could you find someone with a running verstion of PSE12 who could convert your catalog.psa catalog to a PSE12 catalog folder?
    Edit:
If you are in a hurry, and if you can follow the steps to get a correct PSE13 catalog with the trial version, you can 'write metadata to files' so that your picture files can be imported in Lightroom with their tags, ratings and notes. You won't recover stacks, collections or version sets though.

  • I have just updated my phone in icloud and I have lost all my data including my large music collection from itunes. How can I recover my music and phone list?

I have just updated my phone in icloud and I have lost all my data including my large music collection from itunes. How can I recover my music and phone list?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option which is revealed in the iTunes app on your iOS device by tapping the more button at the bottom of the screen.

  • IBooks 3.1-all PDF books in my Collections disappear after updating to 3.1 on iPad 4 ios 6.1.2! How do I recover or revert to previous version? (Can one do selective restore of back on iTunes?)

Just updated iBooks app on my iPad 4 to ver 3.1.  Upon launching iBooks 3.1 briefly saw my PDF books on my Collections bookshelves then they suddenly disappeared! (Purchased Books are still present)
How do I recover all my PDF titles in my Collections?
Can one revert to the previous version of iBooks?
How can one do a selective restore from iTunes backup of iPad on PC? (Don't have iBooks running on Mac/PC)

  • How to recover deleted systems in "All Systems" collection in SCCM 2012

    Hi Everyone,
how to recover deleted systems in "All Systems" collection in SCCM 2012  and also I had one system which is by accidentally deleted, I know the system name, but I cannot able to add the system manually to Device Collections,  is
    there any solution for this...
I had discovered many systems using discovery, I recovered some systems but not all the systems..
    Please suggest...
    saikumar CH

just a follow up on Torstens reply. You will see the discovery records show up in the console without having the client installed. That will be corrected when clients perform a hardware inventory re-sync. It all happens automatically, no panic and don't
    reinstall the clients.

  • If machines have been accidentally deleted from a collection is there any way for SCCM to automatically recover them?

Is there a setting to do so? Also, along these lines is there a way to set SCCM to automatically delete PC's in a collection if they have been inactive for a certain period of time?
    Thank you
    Bryan

Whether or not machine records are in a collection doesn't matter.  When a machine record is deleted from the console it is essentially deleted from the database.  SCCM can't recover what was deleted the way you describe, but
the machine records will come back after the machines execute their next heartbeat discovery.
And yes, there are site maintenance tasks that run to remove inactive clients, but they are not enabled by default.

  • HT203167 i cannot find any trace in my itunes account of numerous audiobooks that i have bought in the last year. how can i recover these. they are in my purchase history but not in my collection.

i cannot find any trace in my collection of audiobooks that i have purchased over numerous months. they appear in my purchase history but are nowhere to be found in my itunes . how should i recover these ?

If you can't find the files in the iTunes folder on your hard drive, then you'll need to restore them from your backups. Audiobooks have not at this time been licensed for re-downloading from the iTunes Store.

  • How do I recover my working Master Collection after computer repair?

Recently my university's Institutional Technology did a logic board and keyboard repair. Now, when I try to open any of my CS6 Master Collection software I am asked to activate my "trial version." My version is not a "trial version," but a version purchased and downloaded from Adobe last year through my department. Is there a way to recover working software without doing a complete uninstall and reinstall?
    28 April
After 42 views and no replies, I conclude there isn't a solution other than uninstall my Master Collection and reinstall it. I would ask if a clean script needs to run after I uninstall all the software, but I'll save that question for a tech.

Make sure to unhide hidden folder in Windows first, then see this support article.
