Recover my the contact list in my iphone 5

how can i recover the contact list in my iphone 5

It depends on where you backed it up!
If it's in your iCloud account, simply go to Settings > iCloud and make sure you've turned Contacts "On".
If it's synched to your iTunes on your computer, a resync should restore it.

How can I get the contact list on my iPhone to appear in my iPad Air?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Please try the following…
First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.

  • My address book on my Mac was over written by the contact list from my iPhone, Help? restore??

Recently picked up an iphone - beginning to think it was a mistake. Just found the address book on my Mac was over written by my iphone contact list.
How did this happen, why was I not warned? and can I somehow restore my address book? I'm lost any help is greatly appreciated!

I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out, and I apologize for my lack of understanding. no problem, sometimes it's better not to know in detail what's going on inside your mac
ok, on one side you have a backup of your computer you made some time ago when you had all your contacts on your phone, right?
On the other side you have your computer as it is now, the MobileSync folder contains a backup of your phone, but you can't use it because it contains the wrong data.
So in order to have the backup from some date in the past you'll have to replace (overwrite) the folder on your computer. This can be done by moving the old MobileSync folder to the location I described earlier.
After you replaced the folder, there will be the "old" backup inside and you can go into itunes/settings/devices and see if the backup can be used to restore your phone.

    No.  Sorry.
You should have been syncing them with your computer regularly.

  • How do I recover contact list from my Iphone 4?

How do I recover contact list from my Iphone 4 if I do not have ICloud and do not have the ITunes sync installed/

If you don't have backups, theres really not much that can be done other than to have everyone you know send you their numbers/emails again.
Also, backup your contacts twice from now on. Use iCloud and Lookout Mobile Security.
Make regular iPhone backups to keep this from happening again.

  • Hello, How can I edit or delete a custom label in the contacts list on iOS 7.0.3 on iPhone 4S ?

Hello, How can I edit or delete a custom label in the contacts list on iOS 7.0.3 on iPhone 4S ?
    i need it so muchhh!

Sort of depend on what you are trying to do precisely. In Edit mode, if you tap on any label, you will be given a list of options, plus an Add Custom Label option near the bottom of the list

How can I edit or delete a custom label in the contacts list on iOS 7 on iPhone 4S ?

I've been trying to find a way to do this since I updated to IOS 7, and I've just found the solution/explanation, even tho is a bit heavy to carry out.
IOS 6 creates custom labels and save them giving you the option to delete them.
IOS 7 creates custom labels but don't save them, so there is no need to have the option to delete them.
But here comes the problem, if you have some custom labes saved in you Iphone / Ipad with IOS 6 and you update it to IOS 7, the device will keep those labels saved, but you wont be able to delete them.
I realized this by going to contacts on Icloud. There those labels that I had on my devices weren't there. So simply restoring your device and configuring it as a new one to later sync your Icloud Contacts, will solve the problem.
I know this post is old, but I might just try this with iOS 8. I have outdated custom labels that annoy me, because I still seem them in the list as options. If I get desperate enough, I may try your solution.

  • Texting on iPhone 5.  When texting to multiple people why does the contact list return to the "A"s after you select a contact and try to add the next one in order?

Texting on iPhone 5.  When texting to multiple people why does the contact list return to the "A"s after you select a contact and try to add the next one in order?  This really slows you down when trying to contact 50 people with information.  iPhone 4 worked just fine.  Any suggestions on how to fix this?

None of my pictures that I uploaded into iPhoto are in my Finder under Pictures.  Should I copy and paste my folders from iPhoto into here, in case something happens to my iPhoto program (in addition to backing them up onto an external hard drive like I already do)?
No, that's just wasting space.  A back up needs to be on a different disk.
Your photos are within the iPhoto Library.

  • HT4389 recovering unintenial contact list o my Iphone 4S

as a "fingeritis" newby ,I deleted my contact list on my Iphone. I would appreciate help.

    Hello Chuck,
You have  2 options here that I can see. 1 is to restore your iPhone from a backup that would have had to have been created before this happened in iTunes.
iOS: How to back up and restore your content
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
If there is not one, then you can see if there are any contacts at www.icloud.com. If so then you can either export the contacts to your computer, and import them to the Contacts app, then sync them over to the iPhone
iCloud: Export contact information as a vCard
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH3606
Address Book 6.x: Export and import vCards
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ph4655
Or, setup iCloud on your iPhone and sync them down from the Cloud.

I have all my devices connected to iCloud.  I would like a reduced contact list on my iPhone without removing any from my master list on my computer.  How do I delete contact numbers from my iphone without disrupting the master list on my computer?

Are you trying to reduce the visual clutter on the phone, save space on the phone, or limit the security exposure if your phone is stolen?
If you are only wanting to reduce the visual clutter and make scrolling through the list faster, you could set up a group on the computer containing only the contacts you want to see on my phone (called, for example, "Show on my Phone") and enable only that group inside Contacts on the phone. You might even have one or more existing groups that you could enable that way (maybe "Family" and "Personal").
