Can actions be rocovered after a Photoshop CS6 application crash?

If you recorded and saved you actions you can load them. I you never saved actions you recorded or modified and you have a system backup you may be able to recover them from your backup. Photoshop saves Actions you record or modify into you user ID Photoshop preference file "Actions Palette.psp"

Isn't it what it does actually ? When it offers recovery, I guess it opens what it can. The other datas may be missing or truncated.
So basically, I would say that your 60pages datas are lost for ever.
You could try to open the document directly and see if it makes any differencies.
Another way, but never understood how to process on my own, should be to fix the information opening the indd file in a txt editor (like notepad). But I am afraid it's more a fantasy than a real opportunity. Anyway, trying so will be more time consuming than doing the things again.
The more scriptable thing I see right now would be a permanent script that would save a copy every minute for example. But I don't know if it's a real good way of thinking.
Another great script is activated by a shortkey " Ctrl + S" ;-)
This is a script you really learn with experience and that become a reflex. I know it could sound like a mockery, buit it's not.
It's just that sometimes this is the best way to avoid problems.
Anyway, I hope someone gives you a better answer.

Cluster failover after application crash question

Hello all,
I have a 2 node 3.2 cluster configured on SUN LDoms. I've created a scalable resource group which handles my app on top of failover resource (VIP SharedAddress).
How can I force the VIP to failover to node #2 after the app on node #1 crashes. The current behavior of cluster is that when it detects the app crash on node #1,
it only restarts the app and doesn't failover the VIP to node #2 where the app is up. This results is longer app service downtime which I want to eliminate.

Hi,
if your setup is correct, the shared IP address must not necessarily failover if the application crashes.
The typical setup is that you have a scalable resource group that starts your application on all nodes (or the max number that you configured) to run in parallel. By setting the right properties, the shared address knows where instances of your app are running and sends incoming requests to all of the available app instances using a weighted load balancing algorithm. If one of the app instances crashes, and there is still one instance alive the shared address will keep forward incoming requests to the surviving app instance. So, no need to failover the shared address.
Only if there is a problem that affects the shared address itself, like a node or network failure, it will be switched over.
Now, there seems to be some differences between what I describe and your setup. Tell us what is the difference.

Recovering NSS pool after server crash

Server crashed the other day - a SLES 11 sp1 XEN host server system with 3 VMs, 2 OES servers (SLES 10 sp3) NSS pools/partitions and 1 pure SLES 11 server. After the crash (due either to power reset or raid controller failure) I had to run fsck to clear up multiple, multiple error conditions on the SLES partitions in order for the servers to reboot. Once booted up, edir and of course NSS would not load. eDir has been recovered and is now running but one of these servers (the one with most all of the data on NSS) is unstable and still has some boot problems. Would the following be a viable option at this point:
1. Take this server out of the tree (if possible)
2. Install fresh, new OES server in a logical drive
3. Join the existing tree
4. Attach the NSS partition to this server
5. Bring up NSS
Any reason why this would not work to get to a stable server that can mount the existing NSS pool/partition? Thanks.

That will work, assuming the new server does not have a volume/pool by the same name already.

IPhone 4 Won't Turn On After Application Crash

I have a 32 GB iPhone 4, which I got on a data plan in late October, and has been working fine until now. I was playing around with an application (Hipstamatic), and the app kept crashing, finally after the 2nd or 3rd time, the screen went completely blank, and since then it has not responded to anything, iTunes won't recognize it, I tried the home button, power button reset procedure, nothing. I cleaned the phone with disinfectant about 15-20 minutes before, would that have anything to do with it? I often clean my phone, without any problems, I just hope I haven't shorted the **** thing out. I called it from another phone but couldn't get through. It has never been jailbroken.

See if you can force the phone into recovery mode:
Turn off your phone: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the the iPhone to turn off. If you cannot turn off your phone using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When your phone turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons. Then, leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, itunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.

Trying to reinstall photoshop cs5 after computer crash

i need to reinstall photoshop after a computer crash. i inserted the cd, accepted the conditions, but am unable to enter the product code. Can enter numbers, but not letters. I am assuming this is because this is a student/teacher edition. What do I need to do in order to reinstall Photoshop?

It sounds as if you are trying to enter your product code and not your serial number. If your software is registered then please see http://forums.adobe.com/message/3987968#3987968?promoid=KBHJW for information on how to locate your serial number.

How do I recover my history after a crash?

I've had firefox crash twice in the past week which of course deletes all bookmarks and history. Because of the way Firefox is with everything hidden in places.sqlite they are difficult to recover. They give you backup of bookmarks, but not of history. Is there any addon or any way of retrieving history? I made a backup of the old profile and started new for now. I tried sqlite browser, but it doesn't work on places.sqlite. I tired renaming the corrupt file and deleting the others. No luck. How do I get history back?

Reinstalling Photoshop Elements after computer crash

Here is what happened. My computer stopped working. Basically if continually froze up after about 2-3 minutes of running, any time I start it up. I took it to my IT guys at work, and even they had trouble. They couldn't back up the hard drive because there were 3 bad sectors.
There inlies the problem... Nothing could be backed up. Including photoshop. So the hard drive essentially started from scratch. They had everything they could get in a "windows.old" folder in the hard drive, which eventually was cleared because it was all useless. And Photoshop said there was a problem with the licence.
Basically, how do I, or can I, regain Photoshop without the disk and activation code? Is this something Adobe will help me with?
The program in question is Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.

And to answer another question, yeah. its the same computer, and I have sucessfully reinstalled one other product via disk and code.

Problem reinstalling photoshop CS6 after a crash

My computer crashed last week. I had to change the motherboard and the main drive where software was installed.
when installing Cs6 from the original disk it says my serial number is correct but in my computer there is no valid product for this serial number.
The disk is the original one, the serial number is the one I have in my adobe account and in the back of the box
I cannot deactivate the previous installation as the trial version give you no access to this option.
I had a chat with support service but they were not able to help me and redirected me to a phone number.
¿Can someone help me?

Sounds like your problem isn't one of activation but of having Photoshop properly installed.
You may need to go through a reinstall or possibly a complete removal followed by a reinstall.

Re-installing Photoshop Elements after a crash

Following a computer crash, I lost PSE 10. Some elements of the old version have remained on my computer. I have downloaded PSE 10 but when trying to install it, the installer will only try to uninstall the old copy. How can I convince it that there is no other copy?

Elements 2.0 is an old version. The message may be due to the fact that your new HD is much bigger than your older one, and not due to the classical reasons:

Trouble reinstalling photoshop cs3 after computer crashed

my computer crashed and now i am having trouble reinstalling photoshop cs3 on my computer. prior to the crash, i had saved the software on a cd. when i try to reinstall the software by clicking "run", a new file opens titled "ahmbed.gz" and the setup menu does not open. i have never had this issue before. i am not interested in purchasing an update, i only want to reinstall the version i already have on my computer. if you can please provide step-by-step information on how to solve this problem, it would be greatly appreciated!

Problems Recovering iPhoto files after a Crash

Hi All! I could really use assistance! I have an iMac running OS 10.6.8 with iPhoto '09 (v.8.1.2) The boot drive crashed and Genius Bar told me it was not recoverable and would need to be replaced. I couldn't even boot from install disk. I didn't belive them and took it home, tried booting from disc over and over until it finally worked. Repaired and reformatted with Disc Utility and restored from Time Machine. Things were a little funky, icons messed up etc. so I restored system sortware. Everything seems to be working well now EXCEPT for the last batch of photos I uploaded to iPhoto while the HD was in the process of dying.
Here's the wierd part, and the reason I am starting a new discussion. I haven't seen this particular problem on other threads. I can still see ALL photos (good and bad) as thumbnails, in both Events and Photos, I can create albums with the bad pix, but if I double click to see them full frame, or try to edit them I get the gray "!". I can't export the bad pix either. Even if I try exporting as current file type, I get the error message "Unasble to create..."
There is no logic I can figure out, why some are gone and some are working, all in the same set. Only thing I can think of is that the ones I modified in some way disappeared.
I searched for the file names of the missing photos, they are nowhere to be found. I opened the iPhoto Library, looked in both original and modified folders, and those pix are not in either, yet I can still see them in thumbnail versions. At this point I assume I have lost them for good, but I would love to at least save the thumbnail size versions and use them. BTW, the info on the bad photos still shows the name and file size corectly.
Any hints at all, how I can recover, or at least work with the thumbnails?

No, I never recoverd them. They are lost, other than the low rez thumbnails. Now when I donwload from my camera I leave them on the camera and only erase much later when I need the space. By that time Time Machine has backed them up.

Recover unsaved document after Word crash

I was working on a document and was almost finished when amazingly enough, Microsoft Word crashed. I am trying to find an auto saved/recovery document but I don't konw where to look. Please help.

What version of Office are you using? If 2011, did you have AutoRecover on (in your preferences)? You designate the folder for the recovered files. If using a previous version of Word, check with the MS Office for Mac forums at http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macword.

Recover of photoes after computer crash

I have a Dell Dimension 3000 w/windows XP professional and the computer crashed and a friend thoght they were doing me a favor by re-installing my windows XP without trying to save any of my photoes, so I thought if I could put my code in I would be able to get them back but, I can't find anywhere to put the code or if you know another way to recover my photoes I will be truly grateful.

Did your friend format the drive when they reinstalled Windows? If so,
ALL of your user files will be gone if you did NOT have a separate drive
for those files.
Otherwise, all you really need to do is reinstall PSA SE and then click
on Get Photos and reimport the images.

Unable to re-activate Photoshop CS after computer crash

I have been using Photoshop CS (original) since it came out. It does everything I need to do, so I do not care to update to a later version.
Recently, it was necessary to re-format the hard drive of my computer because of a virus. I did not realize that it is apparently necessary to de-activate Photoshop before doing this.
I'm now in the process of re-installing my software, but Photoshop will not allow me to re-activate, either by phone or online. What can I do?

The activation server for CS2 (and CS) has been permanently decommissioned by Adobe. It no longer exists.
You now need to re-download a non-activation version of CS2 from Adobe. Also applies to CS users.
