Recover thalia.de adobe-id
Hello,
last year i bought a oyo reader from thalia.de. The company creates a [email protected] id for the device and linked this with a lots of books. Now the reader went broken, i buy a kobo and get a new adobe-id that won't accept the existing books.
I found a photo with the old id. but the password is lost. Guess right i cannot get a recovery by mail cause this was sent to meinoyo.com and will never reach me.
The old adobe-id is known, but the recovery will not work. Any ideas?

Dando por supuesto que disponen del correspondiente número de licencias, lo más adecuado, mejor, y diría que única solución, es que contacten directamente con el Servicio de Soporte de Adobe.
Carlos, hace poco tuve esa clase de problemas por un conflicto entre aplicaciones con licencia perpetua y otras en subscripción Cloud, la solución pasó por contactar con Adobe y recibir información de cómo resolverlo en mi caso.

Recover comments in Adobe Reader 11.0.2
Hello,
I recently made the huge mistake of closing an open pdf document in Adobe Reader 11.0.2 without saving my last 300 comments. As far as I have understood, and found out, the AutoSave folder is automatically deleted when the program closes. However, I have defeated this hurdle by using EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard. Through this, I was able to recover a file called 1.tmp from the AutoSave folder.
So, that has left me with my original pdf file intact (missing it's last 300 comments), and a file called 1.tmp.
Now 1.tmp is only 313 kb, and the entire book is 85 581 kb, so obviously it isn't the entire book. But when I open 1.tmp with notepad, get something like what you see below. This is just a tiny piece of the complete file. And in this textfile, I can still see all the comments I am missing.
So, my question to you: Can I somehow merge the 1.tmp file with the original file to import all my comments again ? Because obviously they are still there in my 1.tmp file.
I really really hope some of you have some hints for me how to manage this. Oh, and before somebody asks, I have tried to open 1.tmp in Adobe Reader, no luck.

9438 0 objI have tried that, and Reader only tells me the file is not recognized as a pdf and can therefore not be opened.
Tried pretty much everything I can think of now, but to no avail.
As I see it, as long as I have the original pdf and the tmp file (placed in the AutoSave folder), I should be able to force Reader to reopen the autosave file and give me all my comments back.
Maybe there is some corruption in the autosave file, and that is what is causing the problem. Since the file was recovered after deletion, I have no guarantee that the tmp file is 100% ok.
The way I see it, Adobe Reader shouldn't delete the AutoSave folder when you close it normally. Wouldn't it make more sense if it only deleted files older than 7 days, or when the total size of the AutoSave folder exceeded a preset maximum ?
I mean, it's pretty normal to be working with comments in Adobe Reader, at least when you proofread a ton of documents, magazines, books, etc. on a daliy basis, and it really sucks when you loose a days worth of work in the blink of an eye...
Anyway, that's my view of the world.

After completing my upgrade to Adobe Reader 11.0.10. when I attempt to save an online PDF to my local drive I receive a blank window where I would expect to see file directory structure to save to.
No local directories are displayed for "Saving To", it is all blank. When I try to Close (by clicking X) the "File Save As" box a message pops up on top that says "Adobe Reader is not Responding" It locks up all of my IE windows, not just the one with the PDF doc.
I then need to go Task Manager and stop the IE task. All my browser windows are then closed.
That is the only way to recover from the "Adobe Reader is Not Responding" message.
This was not happening in previous versions of Reader.
Tolls/File/File Save As always worked properly.
I have installed IE 11 (11.0.9600.17690)Please don't post the same question multiple times!

I have adobe photoshop cs4 and when i enter the disk to install it does nothing . whats the problem - i did have a trial version on it b4 would this have anything to do with it, if so how ca i fix it ?I installed CS4 as a trial and it says license (or trial) expired on first use. I uninstalled it and re-installed it many times and I had the same problem. I donwnloaded a recover license from Adobe web site but it didn't solve the problem. It seems like I'll need to format my hard drive but I wouldn't like to mess up my OS until I move completely to Win 7. Googling the problem came with some solutions that seem fishy. Any hints on how to fix this and why this happened? I'm planning on recommending the software so my company can purchase it but I would like to try this version at home before recommending it and finding out that CS3 would do just fine. Also, the extended version may be a better option but I would like to try it at least for a week so I can write some justification if there is one.
If you know the solution to the problem, please let me know. Also, your comments on the new features would be appreciated as they can help me on this decision. I don't want to call Adobe because they will probably say they don't support trials.

Old adobe ID needed to authorise this computer so I can read all my books I have paid for
I need to recover my old adobe id in order to authorise this computer so I can open the books I have paid for. When I installed sony reader to this (my new) computer it wouldn't allow me to open any books I have paid for. Sony says this is to do with my adobe id so I tried a few weeks ago to sign in using my adobe id (1st time in 3 years). Now I couldn't remember my username but it said it was probably my email address but then it told me you didn't recognise my email address. I have not changed my email address in the past 6 years at all but I could have entered it as [email protected] or co.uk or I could have put in googlemail instead of gmail. I always enter it as [email protected] now. I signed up again but that doesn't help me with my books I have bought so I need you to help me find my old adobe id.
ThanksDo you have your old computer still. If so, go to digital editions on it, and in the Library view do menu/Library/Authroize Computer.
That will tell you the email it was registered with.
There is a long-winded way (below) to find the internal AdobeID a book belongs to,
I don't know if having got that internal ID whether Adobe service are able to tell you what the external ID (email) assocated with the internal ID is.

OK. To find the internal AdobeID.
open a sample DRM .epub file as a .zip file.
With some zip programs, you can just open the .epub as an archive (ev, with 7zip),
with others you will have to rename the .epub file to a .zip file first, then open it.
find the file 'rights.xml' within the zip. Probably 'META-INF\rights.xml'
open the rights.xml file
inside you will find a section '<user>' that looks something like
<user>urn:uuid:ff2ddc22-eca0-46c6-a84d-xxxxxxxxxxxx</user>
That string is the internal version for your AdobeID.
That stays fixed for the AdobeID, even if you change the associated email (or password),
that internal ID is what is really associated with the book.
(n.b. there is no point in trying to change the urn to a current one you might find and recreating the .epub file; the DRM is cleverer than that).

It may be that if you can give them that internal ID they will be able to get you access to your account again.
If they say they can't, it might be worth trying two or three times at intervals;
it seems from what others have said that some of the representatives are very clued up, but others are not.

I subsequently received a notification from your company stating that Workspace will be retiring and all files left will be permanently deleted if they aren't down loaded from the site by a certain date in January 2015. After purchasing the Export PDF Online software when I attempt to perform a "File/Save As" when viewing a document on the web it locks up windows explorer. I receive "FIle Save As - Not Responding"

Raw update needed but not possible
Lightroom 5 keeps complaining that I need to update Pshop's raw app to 8.3.
In Photoshop CC, the Update menu results in "everything is up to date" -- even though Raw 8.2 is there.
-- I tried the super-secret Raw update installer. It resulted in an "illegal operation" type message.
-- I deinstalled and reinstalled Pshop CC. It installed Raw 8.2!
-- FWIW, Premiere Pro is also outdated but CC app also says it's up to date.
-- Isn't Creative Cloud supposed to replace Adobe Application Manager? Why does the CC app and AAM take turns popping up to offer (erroneous) information?
Surely there is a way to tell the Creative Cloud to reset my application list.
I have spent hours trying to resolve this over the past few weeks.
If you tell me to de-install and reinstall the entire Creative Cloud, I'll request a $100 credit. I have already lost at least a day of production trying to troubleshoot this.
MacPro, OS X 10.7.A reinstall of CC Desktop does not rebuild the inventory folder. That is the issue. An uninstall and reinstall does appear to rebuild the Photoshop part of the inventory, but Camera Raw has is a separate component as far as the inventory is concerned. There is no Camera Raw uninstaller that I have been able to turn up. If the Camera Raw data in the inventory folder is for the wrong version or is not there at all, the Camera Raw installer will not run. That is what makes it unrecoverable. It took me all of 7 months to get past the India based support (who really don't have the training to even understand the problem) to somebody who did. A couple of weeks with him did not really resolve the issue either, but now I at least know what the issue is. We will see tomorrow when the 14.2.1 update is release whether or not the reinstall of Photoshop actually resolved the problem I was having with that ifailing to update too. I've reinstalled the CC Desktop Application at least a dozen times, and Photoshop CC at least 4 times, but tech when I contacted tech support on the failure of Camera Raw to update, they always had me delete the whole inventory flder, which kills pretty much any updates. It's a really ugly situation. I'm told that the day before I actually got through to an American support person, the notice went out to India to stop deleting the Inventory folder. The real solution is a simple check that inventory matches reality, but as of now Adobe doesn't do that. If there was a Camera Raw uninstaller that could be made to work (if there is one in the installer, it craps out before the uninstall option is available). Without the uninstaller, there is no way to get the installer to run, which mens that the only way to install the updated Camera Raw plugin is by drag & drop from the installer package or from another installation. This does not update the inventory folder, so the next time an update is available for Camera Raw, CC Desktop will not see it. If it doesn't see what it is looking for, it announces that everything is up to date and offers no install option. It's sloppy programing for sure. Why it hasn't been fixed already is beyond me. Hopefully it will be in the near future. But as of now, if there is a way to do it, nobody at Adobe seems to know what it is. As I noted I have an experiment planned for the next Camera Raw update, which as far as I know isn't tomorrow. At the moment I am medium sure that Photoshop will update properly tomorrow but even that is an unproven assumption at this point. You will almost certainly think this makes no sense, and no one could agree more than I do, but that is the situation as it stands. As for time wasted, I have spent many full days working with tech support at verious levels getting told to do exactly the things which will make it worse, or letting them take control of my computer and do the make it worse thing themselves. At one point they even had me uninstall the CC Desktio app WHILE IT WAS RUNNING AND IT ACTUALLY DID REMOVE THE FILES WHILE LEAVING IT RUNNING IN MEMORY!!!! The resulting crash caused a huge amount of corruption on my HD which took another full day to recover from. Adobe promise me credit for time lost due to failure to update, but so far I haven't seen a dime. A happy camper I ain't, but there may be a light at the end of the tunnel.

Can't open my indesign file without program crashing?
I try to open my cookbook.indd but it has to go into recovery mode but then it quits after I click Yes to recover?

Is there a 3rd Party Solution for Adobe's lack of recover for unsaved work?
Time and time again I am baffled by Adobe's inability or refusal to make the user experience consistent across it's entire Creative Suite.
I am repeatedly shocked by the punitive error messages I receive in Photoshop. It's as though you don't really care what the user wants, I mean what are we going to do, use MS Paint? So you are at liberty to provide such classic errors as "Unable to complete your request because of a program error" instead of "wait, did you mean apply that filter to the only visible layer that you had selected just seconds before and never requested that the layer be de-selected?" I could go on and on with the crazy and convoluted exceptions to logic in Photoshop, but I would rather just understand why, when you know that a problem exists and affects 90% of your users at some point, why wouldn't you try to build in some form of recovery when your program crashes
Why should I be punished for relying on your program not to crash when I am working on something? I have repeatedly been advised that the best solution is to save often. Sometimes that's not an option and why should it be my responsibility to compensate for your buggy program?
After 20 years of development, you can't figure out how to recover someone's work if they haven't been able to save for some reason and Phtooshop crashes? I have been using Photoshop since Version 3 (for sure, but more likely version 2) and back then you could rename your temp files and recover the work you hadn't saved. I understand that the mechanism by which fast previews (comps) of your work are displayed but not applied (like Live Image), but why isn't it possible to store a simple text file that could retrace my steps if your program crashes?
This is a real problem if you are processing a filter that takes 30 minutes and Photoshop waits until 29 minutes and 59 seconds to announce that it stopped working. Granted you can see your document in the background, but you can't save it? You can't commit whatever is in RAM for the undo states to disk? You can't have your program quickly save a new text file with the list of commands applied between saves? You can't do anything? After 20 years?
Microsoft includes recovery in Word, Excel, etc. Even SOME Adobe programs do it: InDesign...AfterEffects. Why doesn't your flagship program do it?
It's frustrating beyond belief and it baffles me that Adobe is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Photoshop and yet this basic, basic customer need is still not effectively addressed and furthermore, any question about it is answered with indignant indifference:
it doesn't work and we don't care what you want,
think you'd be happier with our competition....
oh wait, we don't really have any competition...
maybe you should save more often...

CS4 running under windows 7 appearently has some problems. While it would be nice if Adobe went back and rewrote there software for an operating system that was in early development when CS4 was released, it is not likely to happen.

I am currently running Windows Vista Home Premium "not my choice" on a Toshiba A215-S4747 with 3gb ram. When I bought this laptop the Toshiba Rep was at the Best Buy and I spoke with him about this very computer. I did not want to run Windows Vista, period, I had heard to many bad reports about it. The Toshiba Rep told me that was not a problem and this computer would run Windows XP Professional just fine.
So I bought this computer and 2gb of ram as it only came with 512mb. I went home happly and proceeded to install Windows XP Pro and the new memory. Guess what?
this computer will in fact run Windows XP Pro just fine as long as you take into consideration that there are almost no hardware drivers for the periferals that make up this computer.
So I reinstall Windows Vista and for the next year I am tied into fits because of system crashes. Finally I am at the point that I am going to take this computer to the Toshiba Office in Torrance California and personally give it back to them "I was going to throw it through the front office window.".
Just before I ran across memtest and I downloaded it and tested my memory. You got it I had a defective ram chip.
Best Buy replaced the chip no problem. that was in November of 2008. I do horrible things to this computer, I really can drive it. It has not crashed once since I found and fixed the problem.
No one is suggesting that you are an idiot! or inexperienced. but no matter what you do remember 2 very simple rules.
If you run into a problem 1. "Go Back To Basics" and 2. "KISS ie: keep it simple stupid" if you do this and I am speaking from my own experience you will find like and work a lot simpler and more pleasent. -
I downloaded an Adobe file from my email (service provider is MWeb) but now cannot find it on my hard drive and it's not in the recycle bin. It does, however, appear in Firefox downloads but I'm unable to open it from there. How can I recover the file?

Well first you have to figure out what is wrong with the machine and solve that problem first.
Your post is very vague on what occured, and there are many types of "crashes" it really depends upon what see on the screen and what the hardware does, we can't see it to tell you, so you have to tell us.
I suggest you run through these user tips and provide more information about your hardware.

If this is going way over your head, there are local PC/Mac techs that will assist you for a fee, Apple only does hardware repairs and is advised to use them if you discover it is, especially if under warranty/AppleCare.
Hard drive and RAM upgrades can be handled yourself or by a outside tech in many older models of Mac, but don't expect Apple to cover the new parts.

I have a problem when generating PDF files with Adobe Acrobat X.
When I give print a Word document 2003 ... 2007 ... 2010 ... and select a network drive to save the PDF file, I get the following error "error opening the document. Thefile is damaged and not could recover."
The file is saved on your drive well ... but I always get this error.
Any ideas???

The installed version of Adobe's Adobe OS X and Windows XP machines is thelatest patch level.
The local system .... works well ... Open Office 2010 ... create a new Word document and save it locally ... and all good.
The problem is though that same machine ... it enters network (not Windows network. OES2 is a network with Novell network client) ... and to open and create a new document to WORD .... when printing the PDF printer ... select a network drive... and when the document is saved well ... but it shows the error.
I have an amount of hours lost with this ... I hope you can help me find a solution.
