Recovering a ldap database with all workgroup managers settings?

Sorry if this has already been posted. I updated my x.4.7 server to x.4.8 and all went down hill from there. The xserve would no longer boot up. I created a new open directory master and left my raid that would not boot in my xserve. I can see everything on the drives like nothing is wrong but I do not know how to recover all of the ldap and workgroup manager settings. Lost a lot of work. Any help on this would be great. Sorry if this does not make sense, which I hope it does. Oh yea and part two of the question is it is named the same thing and same ip address but does not want to pull computer lists now. I have over 500 computers now just pulling the old settings. How do I make them refresh and see the new server? I don't want to go to every single computer and remove the mcx from netinfo.
Thanks for any help.

Anyone?

I have a ton of documents and databases in AppleWorks v 6.0 that I can no longer open on my MacBook Pro.  Is there any way to recover this info?  Some documents can be opened and resaved with textedit, but not my database with all important addresses.

I tried Peggy's List > Select All > Copy > Paste into an AW spreadsheet suggestion.
In my case, pasting into the spreadsheet lost all text formatting (mostly text set to bold). The results of formulas were pasted, and checkboxes were pasted as "on" or "off". The DB did not contain any pop-up menus or radio buttons, but I expect they would transfer as a number showing the list position of the chosen item.
Pasting the copied List view data into a Numbers table gave a result similar to that with AppleWorks. I selected B2 as the target cell (for top left cell of the pasted data) to avoid any effects of posting into a header row or column. Bold and regular text formatting looked the same as it had in AW's List view.
Based on that, I'd slip the 'paste into an AppleWorks Spreadsheet step, and paste directly into a Numbers Table.

  • Export whole database with all stored data

how can i export the whole database with all tables, sequences, views etc to a textfile and then import it again? it should contain all availabe data.
    thank you.

    Joshua,
You can use the Data Pump import and export utilities to export and import an entire database (or traditional import and export utilities if pre-10g database).
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B13789_01/server.101/b10825/toc.htm
The export is not to a text file, though.

  • Create New Test Database with all permissions

    Hi all,
We have a Oracle9i database running on Linux platform . Currently 40 users working on it. Now i want to create another test database with giving all permissions to it. Give your valuable suggestions.

The answer to your question as I understand now would be,
    grant DBA to <user>;
But I think you mean something else. Please be more clear

  • How to import complete database with all schemas

I have exported all database using system/manager in oracle 8.
Now How i can i import all database in oracle 9i with all users, Roles etc...
I tried to import "Import Entire database=y" using system manager schema but face following errors.
Schema doesn't exit, Role errors etc.....

    Hi,
As you are working with Old version of Oracle, then Oracle data pump would not be applicable to in order to carry out. So, in order to complete the export and import from prior version either you need to upgrade the version of Oracle so that you can make use of upgrade tools or either clone it or make sure you create required things prior to import on destination database. Further you can check Oracle support team

  • How can i recover my old browser with all my bookmarks and its toolbar

My laptop was running perfectly well till yesterday. today when i opened my laptop there was a HP update required massage window I pressed O.K as always. After a while when update was completed it has put a funny wall paper on my lap top, and worse, my internet browser has been removed. I changed my browser back to Mozilla Firefox, but now I lost all my bookmarks and its toolbar.
I also lost all my user I.Ds and password linked to these I.Ds. Now how can I recover this information? I did ran system recovery couple of time from last months dates but I still unable to get the setting of my orignal browser.

    Hello downtownbrown,
You want to restore your files after a refresh.
Once you have run a refresh on your PC everything that was not preinstalled on the system is deleted.
The only way to get the information back on your PC is to have a backup of everything on an external drive.

  • How to copy a database with all the objects and relationship but with no data

    Hello Experts
I am here for your advise as usual, I  want to create a copy of my current database from an existing one on SQL Server 2008r2 Standard Edition, here is what I need, I want all the objects including any relationship between the objects and I do
not need any data. I have some idea for using the general script in SSMS, but I still need you expertise advise please, thank you kindly for your help.
    Regards

One option is to run BACKUP/RESTORE, once you have restored you run:
    SELECT 'ALTER TABLE ' + quotename(s.name) + '.' + quotename(o.name) +
           ' DISABLE TRIGGER ALL '
    FROM   sys.schemas s
    JOIN   sys.objects o ON o.schema_id = s.schema_id
    WHERE  o.type = 'U'
      AND  EXISTS (SELECT *
                   FROM   sys.triggers tr
                   WHERE  tr.parent_id = o.object_id)
Copy result and paste into a query window do to run. Next:
    SELECT 'DELETE ' + quotename(s.name) + '.' + quotename(o.name)
    FROM   sys.schemas s
    JOIN   sys.objects o ON o.schema_id = s.schema_id
    WHERE  o.type = 'U'
Run this result until you don't get any more errors.
Run the first query again, but change DISABLE to ENABLE.
This is more long-winding than scripting, particularly if you have lots of data. But you know that you will not make any changes whatsoever to the schema.
The scripting in SSMS generally does it right, I believe, but some items are not scripted by default. If you run BACKUP/RESTORE, you know that you get a faithful copy.
Of course, the best way is to keep your code under version control and take the version control system as your ultimate truth.

  • Copy query with all language-dependend settings

    Dear all,
this is my first post message in SDN.
I want to copy a query ("query_a" => "query_b") without loosing my translations of the key-figures, structures and cell definitions.
If I use the query designer, these texts will be only copied in my logon-language.
If I use the transaction "rszc", all language-dependend texts will be copied - very good - but I have no influence on the technical name (the new name would be "query_a_1", but I want to have "query_b"!).
    We use BW 3.5
    Best regards,
    Christoph Riesel

    Dear Venky V,
thank you very much for your quick reply.
If I use "save as..." in the query designer,
the language-dependend texts especially the cell definitions will only be saved in the language that I'm logged on; but I don't want to loose my translations.
    Regards,
    Christoph Riesel

  • How do you re-install Lightroom 5, with all data and settings, if your drive has crashed?

I have a virus which may mean I will have to wipe my HD and re-install software.
I am concerned about losing data and settings when I re-install LR5.
Is everything recoverable through the LR catalogue?

    So who do I believe?

  • How to create a new database after copying an existing database with a new name

    hi
i have an existing database and want to copy with a new name in sql server 2005 how do it is possible
    spose
i have a db name attached in sql server StoreManagementDB now i want to copy this database with all the transactions as StoreManagementDB_1.
    thanks

Use a two steps to use a backup file to restore a database with a new name.
----You need to have a full backup of your database:
    --Step 1:
    RESTORE FILELISTONLY
    FROM DISK = 'C:\bk\TEST.BAK'
--Find out the LogicalName of data file and log file
-- in this case: the data file: TEST and the log file LogicalName: TEST_log
--Both names will be used in the MOVE command
    --Step 2:
-- Restore the files for test1.
    RESTORE DATABASE test1
    FROM DISK = 'C:\bk\TEST.BAK'
    WITH RECOVERY,
    MOVE 'TEST' TO 'C:\bk\test1_Data.mdf',
    MOVE 'TEST_log' TO 'C:\bk\test1_Log.ldf'
    GO

  • Why does "itunes accounts" use data with all settings OFF?

Does anyone know how to keep "iTunes accounts" under system from using cellular data?
    I have already:
    1. Toggled OFF all settings in the "Use cellular data for" menu.
    2. Turned OFF all automatic downloads and any other options under iTunes/app store settings.
    3. Turned OFF Background App refresh.
    4. Turned OFF all options under iCloud sync menu.
Right now, the only thing that keeps "iTunes accounts" from pulling cellular data is turning Cellular Data completely OFF, but I don't want to do this because I lose some messaging and voicemail functions and I need to be able to use Find My Phone. I have two identical iPhone 5c's on this account. One is running iOs 8.1.2 and the above settings control it's data usage nicely. The other phone is running iOs 8.1.3 and this one uses 50-100 mb a day even with all the above settings off and the phone almost always on wifi.
I am aware that the phone will lose it's wifi connection when asleep, but that shouldn't be a problem if all the apps/settings are already set not to use cellular data. What am I missing. I've read a bunch of threads on this issue and they all suggest settings I already have OFF.

My personal phone is on 8.1.2. My daughter's phone is 8.1.3.
It is her phone that is currently having this problem, but I reported it under my account; sorry for the confusion.
My phone has had some data problems in the past, but I have been able to control them by keeping almost all data options OFF and the overall switch ON. My usage is back to less than 50 mb per month which makes sense since my phone is almost always on wifi and I don't use data dense applications.
Everything about my daughter's phone is the same as mine except for the 8.1.3 upgrade. She does use things like Instagram more than I do, but I have them all set to not use Cellular Data and the option to change these settings is locked. When I look at the usage on her phone, it isn't her apps that are pulling unexpected data; it's "iTunes accounts" under system services. All the options under iTunes/App Store (auto downloads, home sharing, etc.) and all the iCloud options are already OFF.

  • Recover database with corrupt datafile

I have an Oracle 9.2.0.6.0 database which has crashed due to disk failure & there is no backup. on the disk that failed there is one rollback datafile so I was hoping to be able to just drop this datafile & the related tablespace & recreate on disk that is OK.
I found the following instructions in a thread on this forum & managed the offline drop of the datafile & the alter database open. However when I tried to drop the rollback tablespace it couldn't find what I though the tablespace was. Now when I try & do anything with the DB is failed with the error -
Error 376 happened during db open, shutting down database
USER: terminating instance due to error 376
Instance terminated by USER, pid = 47050
ORA-1092 signalled during: ALTER DATABASE OPEN...
the instructions I was following were :-
Database was NOT cleanly shut down
I.e. Datafile was accidentally dropped using operating system command, when the database was not cleanly shutdown using SHUTDOWN ABORT COMMAND.
    * Check the alert.log file for this instance.
    * Comment out the ROLLBACK_SEGMENTS parameter and add the following line: corruptedrollback_segments = ( ,...., ) i.e., the above list should contain all the rollbacks originally listed in the ROLLBACK_SEGMENTS parameter.
    * Mount the database in restricted mode. STARTUP RESTRICT MOUNT
    * Offline drop the lost datafile.
    ALTER DATABASE DATAFILE OFFLINE DROP;
    * Open the database.
    ALTER DATABASE OPEN.
    * Drop the rollback tablespace to which the datafile belonged.
    * Recreate the rollback tablespace with all its rollback segments. Remember to bring the rollbacks online after you create them.
    * Make the database available to all users.
    * ALTER SYSTEM DISABLE RESTRICTED SESSION;
You should be able to see your database back at this step.
Any ideas how to indentify the tablespace that I need to drop & how to get the database into a state that will let me attempt this?
