DB:11.2.0.1.0
OS Windows 2003 ServerYou can:
1) Take/copy your rman backup to remote server
2) Restore/recover database there
3) Take the logical backup of table through EXPDP/EXP
4) Scp that .dmp file to Target
5) Import that .dmp file into target
But flashback is on? and did you tried to recover from recycle bin? Hope above steps help

    3. Oracle Export the table that needs recovering.
    4. Shutdown the database.
    5. Restore the database from the first step.
    6. Start the database.
    7. Oracle Import the table from the third step.

  • Recovering a datafile from backup in different server

    Hi All,
    I usually take hot backup of datafiles to different server like this because i dont have enough space in same server. I
    SQL> alter tablespace XXXX begin backup;
    host scp /bu1/oradaTA/XXXXX/XXXXX [email protected]:/db1dw/oradata/backup/dec2010/XXXX
    alter tablespace OPS end backup;
    If i want to recover the datafile can i normally do the offline drop of that datafile and copy the datafile from backup which is in differnet server thorugh scp and make the datafile online??? and the database is in archivelog mode but i dont care abt the log files. i just need to recover the datafile as it was from last backup.
    or do we need to use any recover datafile commands?? if need to use any recover datafile command from where it will recover the datafile??
    i dont have any scripts for backup or recovery , i just take manual scp of the datafiles.
    Help plzz, thanks in advance.....

    SQL> alter tablespace XXXX begin backup;
    host scp /bu1/oradaTA/XXXXX/XXXXX [email protected]:/db1dw/oradata/backup/dec2010/XXXX
    alter tablespace OPS end backup;What is the version you are using? is it 9i if not you can peform backup at database level instead of tablespace level.

Are you sure what are you doing?

    2) select max(sequence#) from v$archived_log;
    For Ex:
    Sequence -- 100
    3) alter database begin backup;
    4) copy all the datafiles to another server(bcoz you not have space in same server)
    5) alter database end backup;
    6) select max(sequence#) from v$archived_log;
    For Ex:

    Then copy these generated 10 archives to new server also.

  • Recover photos only from backup

    Hello, first time posting to this forum. I hope you can help with the following situation I'm in. My wife recently semi-broke her Verizon iPhone 4 16gb, she dropped it and while the phone itself worked, the screen did not. My contract was up for renewal so I got the new iPhone 5s and gave her my iPhone 4 32gb. Prior to the exchange of phones I did a full backup of her semi-broken phone. I deleted all content from my old 32gb phone and restored this phone from the original full backup. All was well until a week later when she accidently dropped the currrent iPhone 32gb (my old phone) in a bucket of water where it remained submerged for 5 minutes until she heard a muted ringing and found it at the bottom of the bucket! So, she orders a new iPhone 4 8gb online from Verizon, when received I attempted to restore from that original backup (local to my hard drive via iTunes, the full backup that was originally on her old iPhone 4 16gb). iTunes throws up a dialog indicating that there isn't enough storage capacity on the new iPhone to do the restore? It makes sense going from 16gb to 8gb. The problem is she wants all of the photos which are contained in the original backup. Is it possible to recover only the photos? I don't believe iTunes can do that however I think there are programs out there that can do what I'm asking. Can anyone offer suggestions in recovering these photos? Can anyone provide a link to some type of extraction utility which would allow you to do this from a backup? I'm hopeful someone can assist.
    Much appreciated!

    Thank you Kappy, but I am trying to avoid (in the setup process) restoring from a backup, as others have had success with battery life setting the phone up as a new device.
    So I am essentially trying to merely be able to access the photos from the backup?!
    More than likely a futile task, but thought I would try!

  • Recover safari bookmarks from backup of different Mac

    My iMac running Snow Leopard died. Electricuted in one of those Florida lightening storms. I will miss you.
    My back up machine is a fine old MBA also running Snow Leopard.
    I want to replace the Safari 5.1.7 bookmarks from the iMac onto my MBA.
    I had several backups of the iMac just prior to the rath of Zeus including TM, CCC and Mozy. So I have the file(s) that have the iMac Safari bookmarks. But where are they and what do I need to copy over to the MBA. I suspect the CCC disk is the easiest place to look. Not sure what will happen if I connect this MBA to Mozy or TM. I am looking on the used market for a replacement 27 iMac that is running Snow.
    iMac was nearly full 500GB hard drive
    MBA is very nearly full 80GB hard drive.

    Boot from the CCC backup then open Safari and go to the file menu and export the Bookmarks to the desktop. then copy the Safari Bookmarks.html file to a thumb drive followed by transfer to the desktop of the MBA. Use the Import Bookmarks choice when booted in the MBA.

    I lost my Mail data when my Library folder was unexpectedly nuked. I only want the Mail data, not bothered about the old Library data as I'm quite happy to have a new install of the OS and applications, I just want my Mail back.
    Can anyone please advise me on how to get it all back?
    Many thanks for your advice.

    You could also try to take a look into the ~/Library/Mail folder on your Time Machine device and copy the data from there to the ~/Library/Mail folder on your local harddrive (while Mail is not running).

    I run below command - rman > restore control file from '<backup location>';In you log file one of backup set contains of data files another backup set contains Controlfile + SPFILE(optional)
    Or else you can check from source database
    RMAN> list backup of controlfile;
    Note that backup piece according to date, and you can use that piece name to restore controlfile.

  • Urgent -- need to restore table from full database backup

    Hello,
    Can somebody tell me the process for restoring just a table from a full database backup?
    I did a full online database backup yesterday, and one of my tables got ruined today. I need to restore it as soon as possible, but I don't know how. When I tried flashback tables, it said that feature wasn't enabled. Should I restore the datafile or the tablespace?
    Thanks much,
    Nora

    If you only want to recover the table and not the other objects in the tablespace, and assuming the table was damaged by a user statement (and not, say, block corruption), you would need to recover your backup to a different system, export the table that was damaged, and import the table into your real production database. If you can recover the entire tablespace to an earlier point in time, or if you can lose some committed changes to other database objects, you may have other options.

  • Ipod Touch does not want to turn on after I Restored from Backup to recover notes

    I was trying to restore a note in the notes app and followed these instructions
    If you synced your notes from iPhone while these notes were still on it and you haven't synced again since they were deleted, you may be able to recover them by restoring your phone to your last backup (the backup includes notes). This will revert your settings and data to those contained in the backup (not just notes) so be sure to save any more recent data prior to restoring). To do this:
    1. Without connecting your phone, open iTunes on your computer and go to Preferences, on the Devices tab check "Prevent...from syncing automatically".
    2. Connect your phone to your computer, right-click on the name of your phone when it appears in iTunes on the left sidebar and select Restore from Backup, choose your most recent backup to restore from.
    3. When this finishes you can go back to iTunes>Prerferences>Devi ces and re-enable automatic syncing.
    That you may recover the notes.
    When I try to turn on my ipod after that it wont turn on and turns itself back off. I did try connecting it so it can recharge then turning it on but it wont turn on. I dont wnat to restore and I want to find another solution or way to resolve this problem. When i plug it into the recharger iit wont connect to itunes or turn on. Please help? Thank you.

    I finally clicked and held the power and home button and connected to itunes and now am in iPod recovery mode. Thank you.

  • Recovering lost data from a very old backup (disaster recovery)

    Hi all,
    I am trying to restore and recover data from an old DAT-72 cassette. All I know is the date when the backup was taken, that is back in November 2006. I do not know the DBID or anything else except for the date.
    To recover this, I bought an internal SCSI HP c7438a DAT-72 tape drive on eBay and installed it on a machine running Windows 2003 Server SP2. I made a fresh Oracle 11g Enterprise Edition installation. HP tape drivers have been installed and Windows sees the tape drive without problem. To act as a Media Manager, I have installed Oracle Secure Backup. Oracle Secure Backup sees the HP tape drive without problems as well.
    I have to admit my information about Oracle is not very in-depth. I read quite a lot of documents, but the more I read the more confused I become. The closest thing I can find to my situation is the following guide about disaster recovery:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10500_01/server.920/a96566/rcmrecov.htm#1007948
    I tried the suggestions in this document without success (details below).
    My questions are:
    1. Is it possible to retrieve data without knowing the DBID?
    2. If not, is it possible to figure out the DBID from the tape? I tried to use dd in cygwin, also booted with Knoppix/Debian and Ubuntu CDs to dump the contents of the tape with dd but all of them failed to see the tape device. If there is any way to dump the raw contents of the tape on Windows, I would also welcome input.
    3. Is there any way at all to recover this data from the tape given all the unknowns?
    Thanks very much in advance,

    Hi 845725,
    If the backups were created with OSB might be you can query the tape with obtool.
    http://www.stanford.edu/dept/itss/docs/oracle/10gR2/backup.102/b14236/obref_oba.htmTo list pieces you could use <lspiece> within obtool.
    http://www.stanford.edu/dept/itss/docs/oracle/10gR2/backup.102/b14236/obref_oba.htm#BHBBIFFEIf this works you should be able to identify the controlfile autobackup if it has the standard naming < c-dbid-date-xx > and you than know the DBID or you are able to restore a controlfile from a backup piece in the output list.
    Might be you have to install 9i or 10g rdbms software as 11g was released a year later in 2007.
    Anyway goodluck.
    Regards,
    Tycho

    Is it possible to recover my data from iCloud backup without working wifi? I have as many other upgraded my iPhone 4S to iOS 7.0.2 with the result that the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth no longer works. However, i can connect to iTunes via cable but there is wrong version of backup.

    Answer is no.
    If you want the iCloud backup you have to have n internet connection, thus WiFi.
    The not working WiFi has happened with quite a number of users.
    It is not exactly clear what is the cause but there are suggestions to clear it up:
    Some people have had success by removing an apostrophe from the iPhone name. If your iPhone is called something like “John’s iPhone” then this might work. Go to Settings > General > About > Name and change it to something with no apostrophe.
    Some people have reported success by putting the iPhone into Airplane mode and then going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings, but the problem may return.
    You could also try going to Settings > Control Center and disable Access on Lock Screen then turn your iPhone off and on again.
    Make sure that your router firmware is up to date.
    Try backing up your iPhone and then restoring it. Check how to factory reset an iPhone for details.
    If nothing is working for you, try contacting Apple or take your iPhone into an Apple Store.
    Succes, Lex

  • I need to recover deleted data from my iPhone 4S but don't have a recent backup. I thought by pressing sync on my macbook this would back up-but I was wrong. There are no backups on my macbook and the latest backup on iCloud was Jan 2012. Please help

    I need to recover deleted data from my iPhone 4S but don't have a recent backup. I thought by pressing sync on my macbook this would back up…but I was wrong. There are no backups on my macbook and the latest backup on iCloud was Jan 2012. My mum died in May and I had lots of text messages that I wanted to keep. I really want to get them back. Is there any way at all I can get that deleted data from the phone?

    Since it has always been very basic to backup your computer and all it's data, Apple provides no way for you to transfer music from your iPhone back to your computer.  As you know, you can re-download all iTunes purchases, but music that you ripped yourself you'll have to just re-rip again.
    You can try and find 3rd party applications that might help you.  I'm sure you'll pay, however.
    Let this be a very important lesson learned.
    Best.

    It's good for that . . .
    But also I don't keep all my stuff in my Mac.
    But not for that.
    This older and not day-by-day usage files I want to store in the time machine.
    You can do that (see below), but how are you going to back them up?   If your only copies are on the TC, when (not if) it fails, you risk losing your only copy of the data.
    Is it possible to split TC in two partitions.
    No, but there are some workarounds, including making a fixed-size disk image on it to "reserve" some space.  See #Q3 in Using Time Machine with a Time Capsule.
    But you still won't have backups of the stuff you put there.
    You don't say what kind of Mac you have.  If it's a desktop model, just keep the external HD connected to it, and let Time Machine back it up along with your internal HD.
    However, it sounds like you may have a laptop, where that's not going to be convenient.  In that case, your best bet might be to copy the external HD to a disk image on the TC as above, then keep the HD in a safe place.
    To finish, when i enter the TC and go through the Time line how can I get a file from there and move it back to Mac hd.
    Via the "Star Wars" display, per #15 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions.
    You might also want to review the Time Machine Tutorial, and perhaps browse the rest of the FAQ.
