Recovering app data to my phone....

Hello,
I'm having a problem ....
My phone was giving me trouble and I had to completely wipe everything from it. I had backup on my PC , but when I connect my wiped phone back to my PC, it couldn't recognize it , so I got a question...something like "this phone is connected first time....do you want to authorize this computer...blah,blah" ,
but than I've got next question, something like "do you want to merge data or you want to overwrite your phone" and I've pressed "merge" by accident
Now....is there any way back from it? How I can get data from all apps back to my phone ?
All app's are there, but all of them are empty ! Please help!

Hi Alex,
Thanks for your reply.
When I try to Sync , I'm getting error message - "Unable to load SyncUICoreLocalized.dll"
So, just to clarify....I didn't change my device, iTunes just didn't recognize as same one when I've connected after wiping it out
"Merge" option didn't work as expected, and now I'm having a problem to recover important data from my APP's
Is there any way to reset iTunes, so to get "first time connection question" again when I connect my phone?

You would have to restore to your entire iCloud backup, if you have one.  (The backup includes app data.)  Restoring to an iCloud backup has to be done in the initial setup process.  If you have any data on your phone now that is not in the backup that you want to save you'll need to do that first.  Then go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings.  You will then go through the setup screens as you did when the phone was new. When given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup.  Be sure you are connected to wifi and your charger as this will take some time to finish.

Thanks @ KiltedTim, but losing "only" any data is really not acceptable and, in this case, the phone had not been backed up, but thanks for taking the time. Also, yes, fungible means what I think it means. An iphone is a completely substitutible commodity, unlike my data, so instructions that inform me as to how to fix a phone I could replace for a small sum of money while failing to address the more important issue of the data are almost useless - they potentially save me the $99 it would cost me to replace the phone if I were so inclined to trust another apple product. Not worth the hour it took to find them or the 35 minutes on the phone to confirm my suspicions about the data.

  • Can you recover app data using Time Machine

When I got my 3GS, I consciously elected to create a new phone, rather than restoring from my previous backup. (Thought it would be best to start from scratch since I hadn't yet installed OS 3.0).
Anyway,I did this forgetting that only one app I use has any significant data associated with it -- my workout app.
Is there a way to recover the data for just that app using Time Machine?
    Thanks.

Had a similar issue with Peggle (close to the last level, but my saves didn't transfer! AAAHH!!!). What I had to do (according to AppleCare) was to restore my phone from a backup. This doesn't take long at all, and you don't have to redownload the OS to do it (it simply replaces "your stuff" with the backup. Doing it this way (instead of going with "new phone" fixed my problem. From there, you can change the name of your phone or whatever you want in iTunes.
Hopefully you made a recent backup of your old phone so you can do this. If you deleted your backup, you can use Time Machine to restore it and THEN restore from backup on your new phone. But to my knowledge (and according to the Apple rep I talked to) there is no way to simply transfer data within the app itself.

  • How to recover apps data??

If I am running out of space and I need to delete a game, but later I want to copy it to another device, can I recover the app data or do I have to start the game from the beginning?
I know that with a back up it saves data but I want to save each app data separately in order to delete them and then re install them and continue from where I left.

  • Nokia eBooks - app data fills up phone storage

    Hi,
I am using Nokia eBooks on my Lumia 820 to automatically update news in the background via W-LAN. Unfortunately I always saw some older news along the new ones which did not go away. I checked my phone storage and saw that the app used 200 MB of it! Obviously the app is chaching the news and does not delete them automatically. I aslo did not see any option to do this manually. As everyone who has an Lumia 820 knows, phone storage is always limited with only 8 GB, so I had to remove it.
    App version: 2.1.1.948
Are there any plans to fix this already?
    Regards

I've not noticed this problem... I'm new to podcasts really, never bothered with them until I got my N95, and loving them now, but when I delete them, it does delete them completely...
Have you tried reinstalling the Podcast software?

  • Can I recover lost app data after restore?

Hi everyone and thank you in advance to anyone who can offer some help!
Apple recently told me some issues I was having with my phone were software based and they refused to issue me a replacement phone until I attempted to setup the phone as a new phone in iTunes. I did so and it didn't fix the issues. I am waiting on a replacement, however, in the meantime, I am restoring to the backup file from iTunes. I have restored all of my general data but, all of my app data is missing.
I'm most concerned with an app that keeps track of my time off requests for work (including info on all of my vacation days and sick time, from the last 5 years) as I know I have time to take off before the end of the month. I know, it sounds silly.
Bottom line, is there a way to restore the backed-up app data to my phone? I've never had this problem when I've used the backup to set up a new phone or a replacement in the past.
    Many thanks!
Note: I have an iPhone 5 and am using a Windows based computer.

The backups are completely random and although I backed up daily and, as a precaution, 4 times previous to the advised restore, there is only one that is current (the next most recent file is from a year ago).
As mentioned, I've previously had no issue with this. I've received replacement phones and purchased upgrades in the past, and never had any issues with app data syncing.
Should I try another restore from backup or is there something else I should be trying?

  • My iphone is in recovery mode, the itunes and usb cable symble, is all data lost at this point or is it possible to recover some or all data on the phone?

My iphone is in recovery mode, the itunes and usb cable symble displayed, does this mean that all data is lost or is there some way to recover the data on the phone.

Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything...
To minimise loss... Connect to iTunes on the computer you Usually Sync with and Restore from the most recent Backup...

some music files do not show up in google play music app library.  I did clear cache/data and restarted phone.  The music is stored on the SD card.  Most of the music in the library is in the same folder on the sd card.  I can play the song from file manager, but it still is not in the music library in play music.

Cyndi6858, help is here! We'd be happy to help figure this out. Just to be sure though, the Droid Maxx should not have an SD card. Is this the Droid Razr Maxx? How did you add the music to the device? Are you able to see the files and folders located on the SD card or device when plugged in?

  • Can I recover data if my phone won't power up?

So my iphone 6 accidentally went through the wash on Monday night. I immeadately tried to dry it out in a pyrex dish of rice with a heating pad covering the dish. It was in rice for 36 hours and still won't power back up. I knew it was a long shot, but it previously worked for a iphone 3s and 4g. Any suggestions on possibly recovering this hardware or how to recover the data (no icloud storage) w/o the abilty to power the device on?

Not really - that data is gone unless the phone somehow wakes up
The conventional wisdom for the rice is 5-7 days though

  • HT201274 If i use the "Erase all Content and Data" button can I put an app back on the phone that is no longer in the app store but is store on the itunes in my computer?

I have an app, no longer in the app store, that i want to keep an iphone i'm getting rid of. I backed up the iphone on itunes and deleted all data, but the app, manually. I want to erase all data, and then put the app back on the phone. Please advise. Thanks

Then as I said you can do an Erase All Content and Settings which will wipe the phone. Completely. In order to add a game from your iTunes you will have to activate the iPhone with your Apple ID and then sync the game. You don't have to sync anything else. But you will need to sell the phone with your Apple ID on it.

  • I've broke my phone, it won't switch on, is there any way to recover the data from it?

My phone has split up the side after I dropped it down some concrete stairs and now it won't switch on, so I need to know if there is anyway to recover the data from it, such as phone numbers, photo's etc. Anyone had this problem?
I've tried plugging it in to the computer but it doesn't do anything, and tried plugging it in to the wall to see if that will switch it on, but nothing.
    Any help gratefully received! Steve

If it will not turn on - you have zero chance of getting anything off the phone.

To restore from an iCloud backup you have to erase the phone and start over.  To do this, go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, then go through the setup assistant again and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup.  There is no other way to do this.
Be sure you phone is connected to wifi and your charger as this is likely to take some time to finish.
