Recovering content from stolen iPad - Notes Plus

Hello - trying to  find out how I can get to the backup of my stolen iPad. Can I avoid erasing my replacement to get to the old content in Notes Plus? Or can I get at the stolen iPad's backup via my laptop?
Cheers!
James

If you did the backup of your notes before deleting then you can easily get back those notes by the following steps:
1. First don’t connect your iPad directly to computer because the iTunes only saves the most recent backup
2. Now make sure that you have a valid backup as listed iTunes> preferences> devices
3. Before connecting your iPad make sure to check iTunes>preferences> devices “prevent iPad from syncing automatically.” Because this will ensures we don’t erase the previously stored backup. Then select “OK” and close the window after checking “don’t sync”
4. Now connect your iPad to your computer.
5. Select the iPad as seen in the left bar of iTunes, as listed under the devices.
6. Select version and click on restore from options.
7. It takes a while to for iPad to erase itself, reset and restart.
8. After the iPad is restart you will see Set Up Your iPad in iTunes on your computer, and now just click the restore from the backup and click continue. It will take 10 to 12 minutes to recover your deleted notes on iPad, photos, music, videos, etc.

  • How do I use a digital adapter to content from my iPad mini on to a TV?

I have 32in Sony TV, an iPad Mini and a Lighting Digital AV Adapter.  I tried to get content from the iPad mini to my TV but the digital adapter only transferred the sound.  I used the adapter on an iPhone 5s, and it got both sound and video.  Why doesn't the Digital adapter work with the iPad mini?

    Thanks for your reply.
However, I am not talking about Apple TV.  I got the adapter to mirror material on my iPhone 5s to the Sony TV via the digital adapter, whether it was email or a movie, but it would not do the same with an iPad mini.  I am trying to find a way to mirror without Airplay. I use a Virtual Private Network for streaming some entertainment and other materials but sometimes the wifi transmission is uneven. I can get the material on the iPhone or iPad with no problem.  When I switch to Airplay, the transmission becomes unstable the picture lags or freezes.  Doesn't happen without Airplay.  So I bought a digital adapter, and it works fine but only for the VPN transmission on an iPhone 5s. Why does the iPhone 5s work with the digital adapter but the iPad mini does not? The digital adapter is an A1438.  I would like to get it to work with the iPad also.

  • How do I get content from my iPad to show up on the tv screen using Apple TV without going thru iTunes?

How can I get content from my iPad and my air book to show up on the tv screen using Apple TV, without going thru iTunes?

You will need to use AirPlay to see that.
Assuming both devices are on the same network and that AirPlay is not turned off on the Apple TV, then simply tap on the screen when you are watching content you wish to stream to your Apple TV, then tap the airplay icon that appears in the control bar, choose the Apple TV from the menu that appears.
When displaying the content you wish to mirror on the iPad 2 (or better), iPad Mini, iPhone 4S (or better), double tap the home button (quickly) and swipe the bottom row of apps to the right to reveal the playback controls, tap the AirPlay icon and select your Apple TV from the list of available devices.

  • How can I record content FROM an iPad and then publish it back to an iPad?

Everything I search for talks about pushing content out to an iPad, but what if I want to capture/record content from an iPad? I am trying to do a software simulation, rather than a straigh record.
I did find a third party application called Reflection that allows me to mirror, or reflect, the iPad onto my computer. The problem is that due to the way the content transmits from the iPad, I would have to manually capture each screen and corresponding action within Captivate.
    Any advice on on this?

    Hello,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
I am not sure about the 3rd Party Application but if you can create a .mp4 video of your IPAD simulation then you can insert that video in Adobe Captivate 6 as a Slide Video.
    Thanks,
    Vikram

  • RELIABLE Way To Mirror Content From An iPad?

    Hello,
I am looking for a RELIABLE way to mirror content from my iPad 3 to an HDTV; specifically from the applications of DirecTV, Dish Anywhere, or Showtime Anytime. HBO Go does indeed support AirPlay, but none of the others for now. I do see Apple has an 30-pin-to-HDMI cable to do this with, but also see allot of complaints because of the HDCP voodoo that is involved and only allowing certain content to be mirrored. Yup, it is all such a technological moving target when Hollywood lawyers are involved.
Unless someone has more information, it looks like my best bet "currently" is to use Apple's 30-pin-to-component cable for the most consistent (yet not as crisp) audio/video to my HDTV. Please weigh in with your firsthand experience especially.
BTW, does anyone know of any pending changes to this issue with iOS 7?

Thanks for that suggestion and yes, I do have AppleTV, but I am still unable to get some of the applications mentioned above to mirror to my HDTV. HA, in fact, how else whould I get AirPlay to work with my HDTV?
Once again, I am looking for an across the technological board way to mirror any audio/video content from my iPad 3 to my HDTV. No copyright protection hurdles, no HDMI handshake frustrations, no inconsitant digital dropouts.
    Thanks,
    Dr. Z.

  • How do you transfer contents from old ipad to new?

How do you transfer contents from old iPad to new?

    Caesar1948-
I'm not using iCloud, so do not know for sure.  I feel as if I have more control by using iTunes on my computer, to determine what is on my iPad, and what gets deleted.
If your wife will share the same Apple ID with you, you do not need to remove everything from the old iPad.  She can share your purchased Apps, music, et cetera.
In iTunes, you can have several iOS devices sharing Apps under a common Apple ID, but you can also "uncheck" specific Apps you do not want on one of your devices.  Each device has an identity so iTunes should remember which App goes on which device during future syncs.
If your wife will have her own individual Apple ID, you need to go to Settings-General-Reset-Erase All Content and Settings.  This will return the iPad to factory defaults, except it will retain the latest iOS version installed.

  • HT4527 My old computer broke but I have all my content on an iPad. How do I get the content from the iPad to a new computer?

I had an old HP computer that had crashed about a week ago. I had all my music and apps stored on that computer but luckily, I also had all that stuff stored on my Ipad. Is there a way to transfer all the content from my iPad to a new computer?

The ipad is not a storage/backup device.  The sync is one way - computer to ipad.  The exception is itunes purchases:  File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.  Use your backup copy of your computer to put everything back

  • HOW TO VIEW CONTENT FROM MY iPad ON APPLE TV

How do I view content from my iPad on the Apple TV. I have checked the trouble shooting list and attempted find access instructions in the guide.

You can do it wirelessly by AirPlay if you have one of those Apple TV. If your relatives or you don't have one, I suggest to buy a iPad AV Adapter or one of those composites one found here http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC748ZM/A/apple-composite-av-cable

How to recover photos from stolen iphone?

You might be able to recover any photos that were in an iCloud Photo Stream if you had an iCloud account and used Photo Stream.  But without a backup of your library or MB hard drive you won't be able to recover any of the iPhoto Library photos as Jim has already pointed out.

  • HT201855 I only want my email deleted from my iPad NOT the sever...how can I do that? Thanks!

I Only want to delete mail from my iPad not the server.  The memory on my iPad is almost gone and it is working slow.  I still want to look my mail up on my laptop.
    thanks!

FYI: Email messages take up very little space so you should consider removing other items.

  • How do I remove content from my IPAD?

How do I remove content from my IPAD to free up space?

Go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage. You will see all of your apps in there. You can tap on the app and you can delete it in the next window - if that is what you really want to do.
You can also unsync content with iTunes and keep all of your purchased content in iTunes on your computer, rather than deleting it all and having to download it again.
You can transfer all of your purchased content into iTunes, then deselect the content that you want to remove, and then sync with iTunes to remove the content that you deselected.
    Transfer purchases.

  • HT201269 How, exactly do I transfer content from my Ipad to a PC?

How exactly do I transfer the content of my old Ipad to my PC ? Then how do I retransfer some items to a new Ipad. I do not have enough cloud storage to use the cloud.

Did you ever use your computer to set up your iPad? If so, then you just use iTunes to do a backup of your old one and use that backup to set up your new one.
However if you never associated your ipad to a computer you kinda have to piece meal it. Try a service like dropbox. Upload things like photos and the such there. You will then download them from dropbox when you're on your new one.
Also, content from iTunes, you can just redownload that, so no need to back it up (the only catch is if the file isn't available in iTunes to redownload

  • Messages are forwarding to my sisters iPhone from my iPad not intended for her.

So my sister an I share a iTunes account, because it seemed easier for her to use mine. Well recently I purchased an iPad and registered it with my apple ID I began messaging a friend. And everything we were saying was being forwarded to her iPhone (which is quiet annoying due to privacy and all) how can this be changed! Whether she needs to be deleted! Oh and even when I message that same friend on my phone it does the same thing and forwards it too her.
It's an iPad 3 and we both have an iPhone 4!
Please can you assist me :)
    Cheers kaitlyn

When you text from phone to phone - those are SMS messages which will work from any cellphone to another cellphone. With the iOS Messages app, the user on the other end that you want to text - from your iPad - must setup and register the phone number or Apple ID email address in order to accept texts from you.
Messages works over WiFi and it only works with other iOS users - and Macs running Mountain Lion - but the user that you are trying to reach must set it up on their end first - or you will not be able to reach them. If she setup soup messages to use her iPhone number - you should be able to contact her with the phone number.

  • Why is Outgoing mail from my iPad not appearing in Outlook 2010?

I have set my iPad to synch with my gmail account.  In turn my gmail account downlaods and synchs with Outlook 2010 on my Windows 7 PS.
Everything works except that when I send mail from my iPad or reply to incoming mail from my iPad, my replies, whilst synchronising with my gmail account, and showing in the Sent folder in gmail, do not download to Outlook.
If I log into gmail (from my email or via Safari) and send mail direct from gmail these messagesshow in the Sent box and DO show in iPad gmail outbox and Outlook, though they show in the Outlook inbox!
So the only mail that gets stuck in gmail and won't download to Outlook is outgoing mail sent from gmail in my iPad.
I can work around this by sending a bcc to myself of every outgoing message I send from iPad.  In this case the Send copy shows up in the Sent folder in gmail and does not download to Outleook but the bcc copy arrives in nthe Inbox in gmail and does download to Outlook.  Its ugly but works.
A proper fix would be better - does anyone have any ideas?

For Exchange GMail there is a way to set your iOS device to use a different "Send As" name than when using a computer.  Unfortunately in your case, you can set your computer to send an alternate name but the iOS device can only send the default GMail name, which is the name associated with your account.  Ideally, you would like your iOS device to use the alternate and let your computer use the default.
But if you want to play around with this ...
1- On the iOS device itself, use Safari to navigate to m.google.com/sync.  You will have to log in at the prompt with your GMail account info.
2- Select the iOS device name (in case you have multiple iOS devices using Google sync).
3- Select "Enable 'Send Mail As' for this device" and Save the changes.
4- Using a computer, log into your GMail account and select Settings/ Accounts and Import, then at the "Send mail as" prompt select "edit info" (off to the right).
    5- Change your outgoing name.
The name you specify in #5 will be used by your computer, but the iOS device will continue using the original (default) outgoing name.  You can see why you need the opposite in your case, so unless you can change the default to be your wife's name and then set the alternate to be your name, I think you're out of luck.

This is all just a partial answer since details will depend upon how you want to do it.

You'll need to get it all onto one iTunes collection on your Mac Pro, then sync the devices to that.  iTunes only lets you transfer purchases from a device, otherwise you have to use third party software.
I guess you could also look into getting iTunes Match.
