Recovering Deleted Playlist

Hello,
I have too much music on my computer to fit on my iPod so I made a playlisy called "on ipod" that automatically updates to my iPod. My iPod library is managed through that playlist.
Recently I accidentally deleted it from iTunes... opps.
So, with third party software I was able to export the song list from my iPod to my computer.
Can I somehow re-load that 'song list' in .txt format as playlist into my iTunes or do I have to manually re-create my iPod library?

Can't help with your current dilemma but once you have recovered or recreated your playlist you can export it by selecting it and using File -> Export...
If you delete it by accident again (which we all do at one point or another, for me it was this morning) you just have to go to File -> Import... to bring it back.
I don't think that will work in your particular case today because the file that is exported contains all the Library data (file name, location, size, genre, etc...). Unless you are fluent in Excel or other spreadsheet/database program in which case you could use your current list from your iPod and your Library XML file to regenerate the list.

  • Recover deleted playlist

    Hi,
Is there a way to recover a deleted playlist?
    Tal

This is a ridiculous shortcoming of itunes. especially from the self proclaimed gods of gui. i submitted a feedback post to apple as follow: "Guys - one accidental keystroke to the delete key and a playlist is deleted forever? C'mon! No UNDO command? No "Are you sure?" modal dialog box? This is a simple function that would take little effort to implement but would save some of your customers enourmous dissapointment when using itunes. I myself have accidentally deleted several valuable and meaningful playlists because itunes is so unforgiving in this regard, and because the delete key functions in an unexpected way within itunes. for example: when editing a text string, usually the delete key will delete characters to the right of the cursor (the opposite of the backspace key which will delete characters to the left of the cursor). I'm sure you know this. But in itunes, the delete key does not do this. When editing the name of a playlist, pressing the delete key will first exit the editing process and pressing it again will delete the whole darn playlist!!! so a user is expecting to just edit his playlist name but instead ends up deleting the whole list!!"
This really does merit some attention from apple, the leader in GUI standards.

  • How to recover a playlist accidentally deleted in iTunes 10

Could someone PLEASE HELP ME on "How do I recover a playlist that I accidentally deleted in iTunes 10?

Addressing data loss problems always brings up matters of contention, since as-is your drive technically has the data on it and is currently at its most-recoverable state. Anything further you do to the drive (even standard use) will push it further away from this "most-recoverable" state, so if the data is vitally important (e.g., single copies of crucial financial, medical, or research documents), then the advice I'd give is to shut the system down as fast as possible, and take it into a reputable data recovery service center to have the drive's data restored.
On the other hand, there are some routines you can try to hopefully recover the data, and even restore the drive. Of course various recovery tools like Prosoft Data Rescue can scour the drive surface for file types and offer means to restore them, and disk utilities can sometimes repair a faultly partition. In this case, I'd recommend you try the tool "testdisk" which is built to recover missing partitions. I've used it once, and it was successful, but have not had extensive experience with it: http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk
I'd recommend you read through the site and its step-by-step guides to see how best to use the tool, before giving it a go.

How do you recover a deleted playlist from the cloud?

If you navigate to your Trash folder the message should be there ... if not then perhaps this is a setting on your particular account (the Exchange server side, not the iPhone). On my Exchange account for work I can go to the Trash folder and not only find a deleted message, but move it back to my Inbox (or any other folder).

  • How to recover music playlists if they've been deleted?

I had playlists on my iPhone that'd gotten deleted, and when I synced it back to iTunes, the playlists disappeared from iTunes as well. Would they be recovered if I restored the iPhone to its last backup? Is there any way at all to get the playlists back if I didn't export them before?

This happened to me too.  I'm heartbroken over losing my playlists.  I tried restoring my iPhone from the backup but it didn't recover my playlists.  I'm not sure if I deleted the playlists before or after the last backup, tho.

    File>>New smart playlist...
    Match the following rule:
Rating is greater than -however may stars you want.
Or you could have no rule with limit to checked and set as follows:
25(or any number) items selected by highest rating

  • Is there any way I can recover deleted pictures from Camera Roll and iCloud? Please please help me. All of my precious pictures are gone that I can never EVER get back. I dont have any iCloud or Camera Roll backup; and my PC can't download more software.

Hi everyone! I'm in need of extreme help. You see, today, two months ago I went out of the country from the United States of America. I took about 1500 pictures ONLY on my iPod touch. When I returned to the United States to my home, I accidentally deleted a little more than 100 pictures. Then, thinking I could get ALL of the pictures back at once, I restored my iPod touch from an iCloud backup I had a couple of days before. Instead of getting all of my pics back, they all got erased. The pictures that I did delete were deleted from Camera Roll AND Photo Stream (iCloud). Then, I was only able to get about 500 pictures back from iCloud. So about 1000 are still gone. When i did the restore, I thought all my pictures would be there, but they weren't and I couldn't possibly figure out why; because a restore from iTunes or iCloud is supposed to restore your device to the settings of the time you backed up your device. All of my other settings were just the way they were supposed tone for the time being, all except my pictures, which contained not one picture in any folder. So EVERYTHING from Cameta Roll was gone, and only about 500 pictures survived. I kept retoring and restoring, hoping they would come back but unfortunately they didn't. Then one time a restored again, I saw all of them back!! But then, within a blink of an eye, they disappeared as soon as I tapped on one picture. Then, I knew they were still in reach, but I just had to find them. Where could those 1000 pictures go? I looked up how to recover deleted photos, but I have to install a software. My computer CANNOT possibly take anymore software on it, my PC is very sensitive and I cannot delete anything off of it. Please please help me. What can I do to get my pictures back? They are memories that I can never EVER EVER get back. Thank you so much.

Please please help me, if you know how.

  • Cannot delete playlists on iPod

Howdy. I have a list of 10 or so playlists within iTunes. When I sync with my iPod, it copies the 10 playlists that I have, PLUS about 8 or 9 other OLD playlists that I no longer have in iTunes. So, after a sync, I have 10 playlists on iTunes and 18 playlists on the iPod.
I have done a restore on the iPod, and on my first sync, once again, the old (previously deleted) playlists returned to the iPod.
The only way I have ever been able to remove these playlists from the iPod is to manually manage the iPod and then remove them. But, as soon as I set it to automatically sync, they return.
Since the iPod has been restored, and it still didn't fix it, I'm guessing there is a configuration file somewhere on my Mac that I don't know about which is being repeatedly written to the iPod.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

I would recommend recreating your iTunes Library. Be sure to back up the playlists that you DO want to keep, however.

  • Cannot delete playlist from Walkman

Hi - Just got a Z1 compact and went to put my micro sd card from my old phone into the sony. Everything is fine except i cannot delete playlists from the My Playlists section of Walkman. The playlists have no content in them, i can't add content to them, and i can't delete them. How do i get rid of them???? Suspect they have to be on the SD somewhere but cannot find them by searching the name or the file type .m3u. Any idea how i find and delete these ghost playlists?? thanks in advance!

Hi, I'd just like you to know that havin already tried EZ File Manager and manual deletion via USB I still couldn't delete certain non-working tracks from the Walkman app, and although I thought your advice seemed potentially dangerous, I tried it as you're a moderator so I trusted it was some 'combination' that was safe. Anyway, long story short I wiped all the media on my phone and SD, of which there was plenty, amassed over a lot of time (the music in particular). If I can't retrieve backups of the music, I'll be very angry with you. (The photos and videos were mostly backed up recently). I don't know if this was some weird, cruel joke for frustrated clueless phone users (not thinking straight late at night, in my case) but if it was, you've caused me to delete everything, and I hope you're happy with yourself. -Feargal

  • Recover Deleted Offline File in Window's 7

Documents that were suppose to sync with the server had not synced in months. The filess I am sure were being saved to the offline file cache. The offline file cache was deleted by using microsoft hotfix 50561 (kb230738), reinitalizing the cache and correcting
the save path. The documents are very important. I researched and found the xp tool for recovering deleted offline files. csccmd.exe by using the command
    csccmd.exe /extract /target:c:\docs /recurse
Is There a tool like this for windows 7? is there a way to recover the lost files. Previous versions and system restore was not enabled and I have not been able to enable then.
