thanks for your reply.
In the new mail folder (not backup) i'm looking in library folder and see a mail folder and pref folder. the pref folder has a com.apple.mail-shared.plist file but not the one you mentioned.
on my external hd with backup i cant find the Mail folder and the com.apple.Mail.plist doesnt' exist in the pref folder. could they be in another location/folder?

  • How can I recover email from library file?

I tried to convert from incoming POP to IMAP (per instructions from Verizon).  I then saw thousands of emails in my inbox disappear.  They reside in my library folder with a different name:  Library/mail/POP-(my email address/INBOX/messages/.   I can't read the subject line since they are only identified as 21.emix, etc.  I don't have Time Machine or a back up.  I am running Snow Leopard (10.6)  I am able to click on one lost email at a time and read it (guessing as to the subject line).  I want to somehow transfer all of the old emails from that missing inbox (the ones with the .emix suffix) and put them back where I can read them in Mac Mail.  How do I do that?

The following might work. Shut down Mail, then make a backup of the complete Mail folder in the library by dragging it to the Desktop, while holding down the Option key. You should see a little + inside a circle, which will indicate the contents are being copied. Drop it on the Desktop and let it finish.
Once you have a backup, go to the Mail folder again and drag the Envelope Index folder to the Desktop and drop it there. You will then get a message about reimporting or reindexing. Let it finish, start Mail up again and see if things are back to normal.
Not sure why this happens, but you may see some messages highlighted in brown.

  • How to recover emails from Mail after account is deleted accidentally. All my emails are now gone and i am standing no where. Can any body help me out by recovering my emails.

After having problem in getting emails from pop server, i thought of removing account and adding it again. Problem was solved but all my previous emails are gone.
Really needed all my emails back. Tried but could went through. Also purchased once software "EaseUS", no further progress was achieved. It only recovered deleted emails which was of no significance for me.
Can any one help me out. I have no "Time Machine" active on my mac book pro.

    Hi Roger
    Thank you for your reply.
    My original feed is: http://casa-egypt.com/feed/
However, because I modified the feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/imananddinasbroadcast and nothing changed, I redirected it to another feed and then I deleted this feed.
Is there any way to change the feed in itunes? The only feed I have now is  http://feeds.feedburner.com/CasaEgyptStation
I tried to restore the feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/imananddinasbroadcast but feedburner refused.
I know that I missed things up but I still have hope in working things out.
    Thanks is advance.

  • Recovering voicemail from backup, phone was stollen

My house was broken into and they stole my fiance's iphone.  We used the backup to update his new phone, but his voicemail messages were gone.  I'm sure the thief has done a clear all by now.  Is there anyway to recover these important voicemails?? They were in his voicemail system when the phone was taken, but they are now gone, not in the deleted messages and we also tried remote dialing voicemail and they aren't there either.  I have seen a few websites that say they can recover them from the back up, but of course they all want $ first.  I don't mind paying to get them back, but only if I'm sure we can.  These voicemails are part of a legal case and loosing them is really not a good thing....HELP!

Sooi, did you try Bluetooth and the an old version of the Nokia Suite?

  • How do I recover emails from library/mail/POP (mailbox)

I need to recover emails that I've located in Library/mail/POP (mailbox).  I don't have Time Machine.  How do I move them from this location to my Inbox in Mac Mail?  I've tried creating a new mailbox and then tried dragging them into it (didn't work), tried copying and patsing (didn't work).  What should I do?

  • Recovering emails from a deleted account

I spent the better part of the afternoon trying to sort out a mail sending issue with my work Macbook (10.5.8).
I basically receive email from 2 accounts ( personal email account and work wmail account). Because I'm behind a proxy server at work I had to play around with the settings so that I could send emails via the work account but receive replies to my personal account. I spent a bit of time playing with the settings and trying different things.
Eventually I got everything working fine, BUT in the process I decided to delete my personal account and re-configure it. Again, all went well, except for the fact that the 2K emails (collected over the past year or so) sitting in my in-box were removed as well. When I added my personal email account back in I only got emails that were currently sitting on the (pop) mail server. The previous years worth of emails dissapeared.
Where do emails go when you remove an email account from osx mail? Surely they don't delete without trace?
So my question is...is it possible to recover those emails from a delted account?

Really? So the emails are removed totally? Not moved to a hidden folder or anything like that? No warning that emails will be gone for good? I would have thought that they might be buried somewhere in osx making it difficult but not impossible to retrieve.

  • Recovering email from Time Machine backup

Hi - for whatever reason, the contents of my inbox (app. 20,000 messages, 1.5 gigs) were lost over the weekend. I looked on my TM, and I think I see them sitting there in a folder called "archived email" (it's a .mbox file). What do I do now? I tried "Import Mailboxes>mbox file" but it says that there are no valid mboxes. Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thx
    G

If you've got the Mail folder backed up, here's what I would do.
Take a look at all of your accounts in the preferences, screen shots would be good.
Delete the com.apple.mail.plist file from your user/Library/Preferences folder. Plist files contain all of the app preferences. Unfortunately, Apple decided to build the entire Mail folder hierarchy into the plist file instead of a separate file. So, if it gets corrupted, you have to carefully recreate all accounts so that the new plist file looks just like the old one, account-wise.
Re-create your accounts with the same info you used before. Restart Mail and it should see everything in the Mail Folder.
If you still don't get everything back, try rebuilding the mailboxes. If that fails, try to import all of your old email folders using Import Mailboxes…>Mail for Mac OS X option. If you point it to the Mail folder it will import all the messages. I'm not sure how it decides where to put them. If you just point to the Mail folder, you may get all of your accounts into one folder. If you point it to a particular mbox folder, you may be able to import each account separately using multiple imports and keep them separated. I don't know if it will keep folder structures.

  • How to recover emails from a recently deleted email account.

Help! I deleted an email account a couple of days ago. The person that was using it had her college class emails going there. She has a lot of important class info she needs to recover.
Can I recover the account and/or the emails for her?
    What can I do?
    Please help!
    Thank you so much.

    Sidney! Thanks for your reply.
It if for my account www.goodkarma-cafe.com
    The email was [email protected]
Please note. You may find two accounts for that email because earlier today, in an effort to retrieve the account, I thought that by recreating the account, just a couple of days after that it would prompt me to let me know I recently had an account in that name (since I could not find an answer in the forum, I was grasping at straws).
So the [email protected] account that I deleted a couple of days ago had been in use since about May of 2012. She is in college and was using this email for personal and was receiving and sending important class work from that address. I hope we can recover it.
Do you need my account info? I am [email protected]
    www.goodkarma-cafe.com is my client
    Please let me know.
Thank you so much. I feel so bad for this person. My client had no idea that her class work was saved in this account!

  • I backup from HP recovery manager . How do I recover files from Backup.2.fbw.

I used the HP recovery manager to back up everthing .Then I selected to return the PC to it's original condition.
Now I have 2 files on my external 500 GB storage as described: backup.1        backup.2.fbw
I need help in restoring the backup.2.fbw    I double click it & it will not open. I searched the web for solution & their's a software by the name: File view pro.   Is there a solution from HP support on this & how to solve this?  Thank you so much.
Hp support mentioned a solution on laptops & I tried it but the procedures don't apply on my desktop.

You should have one .exe file along with the .fbw file/files. This .exe should be executed  to start the copy of the backed up files to a folder on your C drive where you can then move them to Documents or wherever desired.

  • TS3276 I am having an email come back as a recovered email, every 10 seconds filling up my hard drive. I need to stop that from happening.

How do you stop a recovered email from coming back repeatedly? I sent an email to my wife with pictures, it keeps coming back to me every 10 to 15 seconds and is saved to hard drive in the user/mail folder. I need to figure out why it keeps doning this. Would it be my email service(AOL) that is doing this?
    Thanks
    Mark

The solution I found is to set my IMAP accounts (in the Advanced tab) to "Don't keep copies of any messages", then set rules that copy messages to local folders. My setup is pretty complicated, but this would work even if you have just one rule that copies everything into a single local folder. This gets around the problem that the OS warns you about when you use this setting, that Spotlight will no longer be able to search for messages. Spotlight keeps building and caching redundant indexes of IMAP accounts, consuming huge amounts of hard drive space. In my case, because I have tremendous volume of incoming mail and multiple IMAP accounts, this could eat up 30GB in a single afternoon. Unless you regularly quit mail, reboot, and run something like Lion Cache Cleaner, this eventually fills up the hard drive. I'm sure Apple will fix the problem sometime in the future, but, in the meantime, this is a pretty painless work-around.

  • How does one delete restored email from time machine?

I would like to delete recovered email from the time machine that I no longer need these. How do I delete these?

Right click should give the option to "Delete all Backups of [file or folder name]".
If it doesn't, check the permissions of the folder on your HD.
