Recovering folder from a previous Macintoch HD set up,HOW?

I reinstalled my I Mac OS recently but I forgot an important Folder ( Pictures) in the Macintosh HD.
I am looking to recovering my pictures folder from the previous set up but I don't know how to do that.
Thank you all in advance.

Duplicate the entire good backup of the Pictures folder first. Then copy back over the entire Pictures folder that was backed up into your Users -> yourname folder that currently is empty while iPhoto isn't open. Replace the empty one.
Then reopen iPhoto holding the (Alt) Option key.
Choose the Library, and then select the iPhoto Library folder inside your Pictures folder and click Open.

  • I need to restore my Ipad from the iCloud, but not from the latest backup.  Can I restore from a previous date?  If so How?

I went yesterday to the Albany, NY apple store genius bar with a sound issue on the Ipad.  After 2 hours the "genius" told me that
they tried wiping my  Ipad clean, but not to worry that first everything was saved in the cloud.  I was told I had to reload all
purchased Apps and would be no charge and would take some time.  Due to the late hour I said I'd do it at home.  I did not do
it last night.  This morning I open the Ipad  to find nothing in it....no contacts,  no notes....nothing.  I rushed back to the apple
store and was told that apparently last night a backup took place and the Icloud backed up a clean Ipad....no info.  This is a
huge problem.  Apple personel simply said sorry that the "genius" should have known better.   Attempts to restore seems to
only go back to the last backup which of course is blank.  Now my question is .....is it possible somehow with the cloud from a
previous date like you can with  a PC?

  • Can I recover data from a Previous synch? - like one from 2 days ago, that has since been overwritten?

I set up synch account from my "main" computer. Then I had the passwords, bookmarks, etc copied over to a different computer.
I then deleted some of that information out of firefox on the 2nd computer and inadvertently resynched the data. Later I I resynched the main computer - which caused that data to be removed from the main computer. Is there a way I can recover that information from somewhere?

1.- Yes, you can sumarize data in other ODS. Connect both ODS and use aditions for key figures intead of overwriting.
2.- You can do it in load time, in update rules, is not necesary to wait for ODS was loaded

  • I need to recover files from a previous installation

I'm new to the apple thing so excuse the school boy errors, my mac 'crashed', ie grey screen and nothing. Taking advice from apple I installed from the original discs-ok. It seems however that I installed Tiger, and the computer was actually running snow leopard, it had been upgraded by the guy I got the machine from. A local support dealer suggested that I had 'over written' the previous OS and offered me a data recovery (£250) service. I have been able to access and play a track I had in iTunes (from the other side of the partition?), so this suggests to me I have not over written the previous OS.
Any ideas about how (if I can) I go about sorting this one out?

Try rebooting  holding down the Option Key and see if it you have another bootable partition.

  • Referencing Bridge folder from an Illustrator script... How?

I need to access a file in the Bridge directory, from a script in Illustrator. I can do this for PC with a concrete reference like this:
    var loc = "C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Bridge CS3/webaccesslib.dll"
How do you construct a string to get at it on a Mac?
    thanks,

Go to the scripting Forums and select the Illustrator Script forum and ask there.

  • Replay a movie from a previous state using a button  - how?

I am making a 'simple' (or it would be if it worked!) envelope for a FLASH movie. I am using Catalyst to provide menu functions after a very short FLASH movie plays - the sequence is:
    1. State 1 - animated intro
    2. State 2 - Short movie
    3. State 3 - post movie menu
What I want to do is allow users to 'replay the movie' by clicking a 'play movie again' button in State 3 which will take them back to State 2 and autoplay the movie before it again returns to the post movie menu in State 3.
I have the movioe set to autoplay in State 2, and havbe an action to take it to State 3 when the movie finishes - but when I test my project and click on my 'play movie again' button it does go back to State 2 but just freezes and doesn't play the movie.
Any ideas what I may be doing wrong here?
    Many thanks...

I've had the same problem creating an ad banner that rotates. Once I get back to state 1 it freezes, even though it should play. (using 4 second blank video to progress through states)

  • Recovering backup data from a previous version of Rescue and Recovery

    Dear All,
can you please advice how can I restore the system&data (Windows 7)
I created recovery CDs and did the full backup (USB drive)
I changed disk (diagnostic reported warnings for the old one)
    I recovered system from CD
I wanted to recover full backup/image from USB drive, however
after reboot R&R 4 starts and error message "... backup taken with previous version..." is displayed.
I wanted to recover single file (R&R 4.31)  from USB drive, however
error message "The list box identifierwas not found"  is displayed
What shall I do? upgrade R&R to 4.51? downgrade R&R to 4 (where are downloads)? something else? what R&R versions exist for W7?
    thanks in advance.

I just recently upgraded from a 4S to a 5C.  I backloaded the 5 from Itunes and now everytime i plug into itunes, it asks if I want to set up as new or restore from a previous backup.  Why is it doing this.  I did it twice yesterday.....  In addtion, those are the only options I have.  I cannot do anything else unless I choose one of the two.  Zero options.  Phone works fine though.

I figure that either of those options will result in losing all SMS and data created since the last backup. Not a major loss, but ** annoying when nothing has changed and the time it will take to restore.
When was the last time you synced your iPhone with iTunes since the backup is updated as the first step during the sync process?
Is there anyway to recover this WITHOUT having to do a full restore or set up as new?
    In a word, no.
If I do restore or set up as new, how do I know it's not going to do the same thing tomorrow (like a few other forums threads I've read indicate might happen)?
There is no way to know for certain but I've never experienced the same in the first place. I venture to say having to do this is the exception rather than the rule.

  • I have just purchased a new Mac and want to sync my ipod - previous computer was PC - can I recover tunes from the ipod to the Mac?

I have just purchased a new Mac and want to sync my ipod - previous computer was PC - can I recover tunes from the ipod to the Mac?

    1) authorize iTunes on the new machine for your iTunes store account(s)
    2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
    3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPod but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPod with it.
above covers purchases from the iTunes store. for everything else, check out this post by Zevoneer.

  • I just got an iPhone 5s, and I restored from a previous back up and now I can't restore the phone without "turning off the find my iphone setting"?

I just got an iPhone 5s, and I restored from a previous back up (mistake) and now I can't restore the phone to start again without "turning off the find my iphone setting" but it's using an old email address as the icloud login, which i don't have a password to / never used for an icloud account. I have gone and changed my settings to a different email on my icloud / apple ID but on my phone it won't let me change the email address for icloud, it's greyed over and keeps trying to verify?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

It will not do anything at all to your computer.

    Hi there Br0x,
You may want to try rebuilding the iTunes library as an initial troubleshooting step. Take a look at the article below for more information.
