Recovering information from OST files

Hi,
I did a Exchange server change and before I did an copy of each mailbox to an pst file. As it turned out one off the out pst files is correupted. I found the original outlook.ost file. Is there any tool for revering the information to an pst file or directly int to the new Exchange Server?
Thankful for the help I can get.
/Pedro

This is not an issue with the Exchange server. Outlook.ost is the cached copy of your mailbox stored on your computer. To resolve this simply close outlook and
rename outlook.ost to outlook.ost.old. You can find the outlook.ost (or whatever the ost file is named - it could be your-email-address.ost) in %localappdata%\Microsoft\Outlook\The next time you open Outlook it will create a new OST and begin downloading your
mailbox items again. But if it doesn’t help, try free demo of recovery toolbox for outlook. You can find it here. http://goo.gl/qSi5zR

If you had saved your Excel file, then you may revert the Excel file to the last saved version. Follow below steps to do this:
On the File tab, click Open.
Double-click the name of the file that you have open in Excel.
Click Yes to reopen the Excel file.
If you had not saved Excel file, then follow below steps to recover your file.
Click the File tab.
Click Recent.
Click Recover Unsaved Workbooks.

• How to extract text and image information from postscript file

I want to write a programe, and extract text and image information from postscript file using Java.Is it possible? How to extract ?
Thank!

First of all, PostScript is not a "text" file. It can and often does contain binary data. Since PostScript streams often contain nested procedures, unless you process the procedure definitions and can "execute" them, you cannot simply "scan" a file to get what you want. No, I can't talk about this in detail since it is quite complex. But Adobe does have the
PostScript Language Reference Manual on-line for download at
. Look that over and you will have a fairly healthy respect as to the task involved.

• Extract information from Javadoc files

I want to extract class, method & parameter information from the javadoc files (in html format, not from source code).
Are there any existing API's / opensource projects that would help me do this.
I have tried searching google and the forums, but I end up finding results related to extracting javadoc info from the source files. However I am interested in recovering this information from the generated HTML files.
Any pointers would be helpful.
- Ajay

The situation is like this: I have a stub jar file alongwith the documentation in HTML form. The classes in the jar file do not have any debug information so eclipse can not extract any parameter name information from the jar file. It does extract some info from the documentation, but quite a lot of the variables are still not named.
It becomes a tedious job to work with the API when you can not figure out which parameter refers to what. I have to often lookup the documentation to figure it out.
My plan is to recreate the stub jar by decompiling it and merging the parameter name information derived from the html documentation to create create source files. Then I can recompile them with debugging enabled to generate class files.
Any ideas or open source projects that would let me do this quickly?

• Recovering data from Temp file following transfer failure

Hey everyone,
I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about recovering Lightroom data from temp files.
Last month I made a serious, serious error while transferring my files in Lightroom. I was off-loading a month's worth of material off of one hard drive onto another (in a rush to catch a flight), and used Lightroom's "Move" tool to do so. Problem was, they were both portable harddrives and one of them periodically lost power during the transfer. The result was devastating: the vast majority of the images and previews were lost to the black abyss. I did not have a backup of the RAWs or videos. It was... very bad.
However, I noticed that I could still preview the images in Lightroom. Somewhere, some of the previews still existed in a temp folder or in RAM.
I found two files called Photoshop Temp in my Windows Temp folder and backed them up to my drive. Together they're over 6 gigabytes and do not respond to opening in Photoshop, nor Lightroom.
Is there any way to recover some of the data from these caches?
Thanks so much!

Hi,
Is your cube contains 0customer field?? If there is no use of it then remove from the cube so that it gets eliminated from update rules too. If the data type of that object is Char, then remove the alpha routine property in the infoobject level.
Check the file type in the infopackage also, whether it is checked as CSV or not.
Hope it helps,
Regards,
Neha.

• How to know date and time information from Trace File defaultTrace.X.trc?

Hi, all.
i'm using EP 6.0 SP9 patch 1.
As you know, default trace is written in the <SID>\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\log\defaultTrace.X.trc.
By using the default trace formatter, it shows like the following sample messages.
#1.5#0011110E7B2000590000000100000A100003EC71562E6EBC#1104396451585#com.sap.jms.server.ServerClientAdapter##com.sap.jms.server.ServerClientAdapter#Guest#18####716257115a3f11d9b73b0011110e7b20#SAPEngine_Application_Thread[impl:3]_23##0#0#Error#1#/Applications/JMS#Plain###JMS internal error at ServerClientAdapter! My questions are
1. how do we retrieve the date and time information from the above message? It seems that this message has date and time info because LogViewer shows the date and time based on the above message.
2. how do we change the above date format to easier one
like "YYYY:MM:DD:hh:mm:ss"? i know that it can be configured from the Visual Admin --> Services --> Log Configurator but i don't know the exact place for the trace file.
Thanks.

Hi Sejoon,
I use the standalone Logviewer to read the log files. Works great.
"If you have an SAP Web Application Server Java 6.20 or below you may also get a standalone_logviewer.zip file at the SAP Service Marketplace at service.sap.com/download → SAP NetWeaver → Release ‘04. In this case JDK version 1.3 or higher must be installed on the system. The java version must be same on the server and the client.
In the SAP Web AS Java 6.30 installation a folder named logviewer_standalone can be found under: <path Of J2EE installation>/<SysID>/JC<nr>/j2ee/admin/logviewer_standalone. Verify that the batch file logviewer.bat is installed in the directory logviewer-standalone.

• How to recover access to OST file if removed Exchange Server

I am just one person and don't want to spend $200 for a OST to PST conversion, to recover a handful of contacts, not emails, that I neglected to archive before removing my Exchange email account. I have the OST file, and its on the same machine, but
unable to re-add the Exchange Account as the Server is no longer there.
ALL the threads on this are full of 3rd party tool self promotion, that I frankly can't trust. I can't believe there isn't a sanctioned MSFT approach for this common problem.
Anyone with an official answer?

Hi
If you don’t want to purchase third party application, then you can follow manual steps of Microsoft. These steps really work to access OST file without any Exchange
server, but this take lot of time.
There is also some better solution that takes very small time period to recover OST database without spending money. SysTools release its
latest version of freeware OST to PST that convert 25 items per folder. Few feature are mentioned below-
Advance Scan Mode
Recover
OST Data (Mails, contacts, journal, to-do list) in tree like structure
Convert
OST in EML, MSG and PST
Preview Option
Selection
Facility
Split
Option
Naming
Convention for EML and MSG.

Ok, so here's the thing. I needed to reinstall my computer, so before doing it I set up Sync and synced all my bookmarks and passwords and everything. Now that I've reinstalled everything, I tried to recover all the information from Sync. I connected to my account and entered the key, but nothing happened, none information was recovered. How do I get it back?
I am using OS X.

You can get some data from the backup using:
iPhone Backup Extractor for Windows and Mac
You can also purchase or borrow another iOS device and restore that device from your iPod backup.

• How to recover database from .mdf file

create a database of
equal size to the one you're trying to attach
shutdown the server (Stop)
swap in the old mdf file (replace new .mdf file with .mdf file to be recovered )
Location: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\DATA
bring up the server (start) and let the database attempt to be recovered and then go into suspect mode
put the database into emergency mode with ALTER DATABASE
run DBCC CHECKDB (dbname, REPAIR_ALLOW_DATA_LOSS) which will rebuild the log and run full repair
Your database will be available again but you'll have lost data and the data won't be transactionally consistent
USE [master]
GO
ALTER DATABASE [RdmStoreInformation] SET EMERGENCY
GO
ALTER DATABASE [RdmStoreInformation] SET SINGLE_USER
GO
DBCC CHECKDB ([RdmStoreInformation], REPAIR_ALLOW_DATA_LOSS)
GO
ALTER DATABASE [RdmStoreInformation] SET MULTI_USER
GO
ALTER DATABASE [RdmStoreInformation] SET ONLINE
GO
This is a issue I had to fix and it's solution listed here for your reference(I gathered all the In-formations by surfing web)

Interesting, did you get any errors trying to attach the .mdf file?

• ITunes doesn't pick up information from mp3 files - resorts into unknown..

I installed iTunes to use with my new iPod shuffle. Previously I had used Real Player to manage my music. All of my music in my library was setup in folders (i.e. Artist Folder\Album Folder\Tracck no. - Songtitle.mp3). This worked fine and all the information for the files was intact.
When I installed iTunes and added my music library to it, it resorted my songs and placed more than half of them in a folder called "Unknown Artist" and now all I have are hundreds of files with just the track and song title. If I open this folder with Windows (in My Computer) it shows all the information for the file (i.e. artist, album, etc.) but iTunes still placed it in "Unknown"
Just another shining example of Apple and PCs not playing well together? Has anyone else had this problem? More importantly, how do I fix it or can I use Real Player to manage music my iPod?
This is a real problem for me, I have over 2500 songs in my library and now over 900 are basically unidentifiable for artist or album....

First try another cable since Googling shows that has cause this problem in the past. Especially non-Apple cable.
