Recovering Keynote files post unexpected quitting.

I need help recovering a Keynote project. The program unexpectedly quit and the file was not manually saved. How/where does a file being worked on get saved by Keynote? Any help out there. (If it happened on my PC I'd be OK - help me through my conversion.)

Oh then you are not going to like this. Keynote does not have an automatic save.

  • How can i recover keynote files in my icloud?

I can't see my files in icloud, and not recover the files deleted.

If you are using Time Machine on a Mac, you may be able to recover them from your backup.  Open Finder and navigate to ~/Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~Keynote/Documents (if using Mavericks) from the Go>Go to Folder menu.  Then open Time Machine and go to an earlier point in time to see if you can see and restore them.

  • TS3991 Recover keynote files deleted in the cloud

I inadvertently deleted files from my iPad and thus the Cloud.  Is there any way to recover those files?

    Hi,
DPM do not care about the Source File has changed or deleted, so SCDPM does not know if a File has been changed or is deleted.
So there is now known way to archive your Goal.
I can imaging that you can archive this Goal with a Powershelgl Script, but would be not this easy

  • Bluetooth File Exchange Unexpectedly Quit

Every time I try to connect to my LG VX8600 via Bluetooth File Exchange it suddely quits (crashes). This is a recent problem. I was able to make a few connections and transfer files and now I can't reconnect. Nothing has changed. I tried removing the bluetooth profile for the phone are re-pairing the two devices but it still crashes. The crash occurs just after a successful pairing and connection is about to be made.
    Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

I am also having the same problem with the 8600.
I tried deleting the com.apple.Bluetooth.plist and com.apple.BluetoothFileExchange.plist files on a recommendation but had no success.

  • Old FCP file unexpectedly quitting when trying to reconnect offline media

An old project that I transfered from one computer to my new mac pro is not working.
When I open the FCP file it asks me to choose a scaling quality. Either: Normal, Fastest, or best. I have tried all three (with the same result.)
Next it says 152 media files are offline and 28 render files are offline. I kept all these files in the same folder when I transfered the project to my new computer, so I thought I would simply reconnect them. I click "reconnect," search for the first file, find it, and click it. As soon as I click the name of the file, not "choose," just the name of the media file, FCP unexpectedly quits. I click report and send the automatic message to Apple. It is really long, but if you want I can post that message. If any one has any ideas or could offer some help it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot for your time!
    Peace,
    Andrew

Let me know if this isn't right or if you want the first part, or what follows this. Thanks a lot!

  • Help - CS3 Illustrator unexpected quitting after booting up...

We still run CS3 at my work. When I switched to a mac with Snow Leopard I started to have a minor issue. I turn on my computer, start Adobe Illustrator and when I try to open a file it "Unexpectedly" quits. When I start it again it's fine and works smoothly all day. Has anyone else had this issue?

    Try deleting your Illustrator preferences
    Try cleaning your font caches.

  • Unexpected Quit when launching Iphoto 5.0

I have never had a problem- however, I cannot open iPhoto as of yesterday. It looks like it is launching to open and it takes a LONG time, then an error message posts, "Unexpected Quit" so I have sent this into Apple 3 times- no response. Anyone have suggestions? I even deleted old applications to make more room. I know I need to get more memory as well.
    Thanks
    Dara

Dara, here is some more info...
Using Image Capture to download images and video clips:
Open up Image Capture which is found in the Applications folder.
When it is opened, go to Image Capture/Preferences
    Under the General button choose
Camera: When a camera is connected, open Image Capture.
The next time you connect your camera Image Capture will open.
In the window that opens you will see an Options button. Click on that button to set your options.
To find out more about Image Capture (it can do a lot more) Click on Help in the menu bar when Image Capture is open.

  • Unexpected quits, missing themes, missing fonts and broken file paths

I created a project in iDVD 5 on the Powerbook at home, and then took the drive containing the project and all related files to my dad's office to burn it on his iMac G5 (the drive in the powerbook won't burn anything - separate problem). I put all the required files which were on the Powerbook's internal HD in a folder on the external HD, so that they could be reconnected at the office (when the "following files could not be found" dialog pops up).
However, when I opened the project on the G5, from iDVD, it told me that at least one of the themes I had used could not be found. "Ok," I thought, "which ones are they?"; clicking the "show details" triangle, I got the following message:
"The following themes, used by this project, are missing on your system:
    (null)"
This occured a total of five times, before the "following files could not be found" dialog appeared. Some of them had been on my desktop or in my preferences on the powerbook, which I had copied into the aforementioned folder on the portable HD, but it could not find any of the movie files nor some of the image files, all of which had not changed position on the external HD since I started the project. I showed it where all of the files were, and then another message popped up telling me a font was missing. At this point it froze on the spinning coloured ball of death, before showing me an "unexpectedly quit" message. I have been through this so many times, even tried deleting the "com.apple.iDVD.plist" file, which didn't help. I am at a loss.
iMac G5 Intel Core Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   2x 2 GHz Intel processors

What version of iDVD is on your Dad's computer. Since you have posted in the iDVD 6 forum, perhaps it is iDVD 6? That may be your problem because I would NOT expect a project created in iDVD 5 (as you have done) to work in iDVD 6.
If you had iDVD 6, I would have suggested you try creating an actual project archive out of iDVD (FILE>ARCHIVE PROJECT). The archive SHOULD contain all the elements you need to work on another computer.

  • Keynote unexpectantly quits using mask

i am masking out a background on multiple photos in keynote.
as i am applying the mask the rainbow circle pops up cycles and then keynote unexpectantly quits.
it happens over and over. what the heck is going on???

I do not have an answer, but I experienced the same problem yesterday, 11/11. I also recently upgraded to 10.6 and have been using iWork '09 and Keynote 5.0.3. I have had zero problems opening any of my Keynote files until yesterday. Two files were either unable to open or if opened would not display/play properly. Actually I was able to open one presentation but when I clicked on a certain slide the error message appeared, the one about the SFWordProcessing plugin, and the program quit. I re-opened, dragged the "good" slides to a new presentation document and re-fashinoned another slide. I had to completely start over on the other - even the backup would not load.
Also I notice that in "Letter Press", if I select italic, (from the keyboard or the format menu) the entire set of bullets displays vertically, only one letter wide! This may be the case across the board, I don't know.

  • Keynote 3 versus 2 quits unexpectedly

Tried to open a PowerPoint presentation with Keynote 3-the application quits unexpectedly-this on my MacBook Pro.
I can go to my G5 and the presentation converts fine with Keynote 2.
But I'd rather not have to move my presenations off the MacBook Pro for conversion.
    Any ideas?

    Black and White Night,
if you think it's a major bug, then probably it's best to send feedback to Apple.
Look for a crash report: open Console.app in /Applications/Utilities
    Then open File/Open Quickly/'~/Library/Logs'/CrashReporter/Keynote.crash.log
Check the date if it matches with your crash and copy and paste the log into your feedback message.

  • Crashing / Unexpectedly quitting when attaching files etc.

    Hi
I have this query posted in a couple of different places but some developments in my own investigation have led me to post it again.
Initially, I noticed I could no longer attach files in yahoo mail. Until tuesday this week, I have always been able to. Then I realised I couldn't attach them to skype of send them through yahoo messenger. When trying to attch files, the 'browse' page comes up, I select the file, the computer thinks for a moment then kicks me out of the software - 'safari unexpectedly quit'
Then I noticed spotlight has stopped working.
Through advice from posting bits of this in various places, I have run repair disc, disc permission, printed off log on console, tried to start spotlight again by using a command in terminal.
Nothing has made the slightest bit of difference.
However, I've just been fiddling with folders in finder - if i go to view and then 'arrange icons as columns' (incidentally, how the browse thing organises them when attching files) and then if I try to open a file, the computer can't cope - console tells me 'Finder crashed'
mds apparently crashes every few minutes and that is also what it says when safari quits.
I updated software last week - I keep up to date so it was only itunes and 2 'powerPC (???)' things but ever since then, it hasn't worked.
The only other thing I've done recently is to have contacted Netgear to reset my router and setup new WEP key for my wireless connection as I had lost the password but I can't see that that would have made any difference.
Please help someone - I'm getting desperate as I rely on being able to attch files as part of my job.
I frequently get this error code:
Can't checkin with server named com.apple.metadata.mdserver, error 0xfffffecc
Someone must know what to do????
For further info on what I've done so far, please see

    Hello again, Jim: )
I updated software last week - I keep up to date so it was only itunes and 2 'powerPC (???)' things but ever since then, it hasn't worked.
Next time to find out exactly what you installed System preferences->Sotware Update Installed Software ->Show as Log button on the bottom.
To find out why Safari is crashing posting the latest & entire safari crash log is a great troubleshooting tool which we never did get to because the
metadata was crashing as well & now so was the finder I read. So something was askew with the os software, missing files not proper installation of the os. Third party software incompatibly.
A myriad of things could of gone wrong hard to know, I understand you wanting to know, it would be a good way to avoid this from happening again.

As I linked you to before, this is the only hit I get when searching this issue, so it is not a common problem it seems. Which is why I recommended another forum sorry if the road was not smooth, still you did get some help
& direction from us all, which is what we aim for.
I hope the A & I has sorted it all out, you can do your work. If you have any other issues, let us know. Best of luck.

ctrl-click the project file and choose Show Package Contents, any audio files that exist in the project will be in the media folder; you can try dropping them back into the project (MIDI tracks can not be saved)

  • Wish to post KeyNote file as pdf. Export from KN to iW not working

Wish to post KeyNote file as pdf. Export from KN to iW not working - get blank screen. Tried to upload PDF to mobile me and link to that file - also didn't work. I'm not familiar with iFrames but have read about them in this forum - is that my only option? Why wouldn't a KN export work?
    Thanks, Brian

I have just tried this with a test site and publishing to a folder and it does work perfectly for me.
I had a Keynote document already so all I did was click on File and then selected the Print option. I then selected the save as pdf option the the pdf document was created on my desktop instantly.
All I then did was open iWeb and type some words in a text box My Prices. I then highlighted My Prices and opened the Inspector and went to Hyperlink and clicked on the option Hyperlink to a file. I then selected the pdf file from my desktop.
I then used ftp to a folder on my desktop and when I opened the appropriate page, I click on the words My Prices and the pdf file opened straight away.
As OT has suggested, check that you have linked to the correct file. If it does not work, either you have not created the pdf correctly or at all or you have not linked to the correct file.
As I said, it worked for me.
