Did you try this:
Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.
Test restoring while connected to a known-good network.

My iphone 4 gsm stuck in recovery loop and I get error message when trying to recover thru itunes, error message 1602. help!!!!

I removed the battery in my att iphone 4 (gsm) osi 6.2? when i turned phone on i got pug into itunes screen. I did that and it said phone detected in recovery mode click update recover butten so i did. everything started liek t was working, i tunes showes verifing with apple but never make it past that point. itunes gives error message 1602. tried fixes, got error 22 tried fixes got error 11, tried fixesand got error message 1602. i then got advice from friend who wrks with iphones. told me get inrecovery, turn off. take out battery for min at least and put back together nad then try. i could not turn it on so plugged into wll charger and screen showed osi 6 and slide bar. slid bar and asked for my pw. put in and low and behold icon on screen telling me to plug into itunes. Did that and got error messge 1602 again and itunes neer went past verifing with apple.

This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

I had been getting this all morning and checked other messages from the community. THe one which worked was trying a different brand of disc.
I had been using Verbatim which had copied the music fine off the Real Player on my PC at school, but wouldn't work with I Tunes. Tried a Staples and an Office Depot CD-R , both of which did the job.

Why am I receiving an error message while trying to change my phone number?

So I have been trying to change my phone number for a few days now and every single time I get this error message, before i even start, "The activity you are trying to perform is currently unavailable. Please try again later." I was hoping to circumvent the 15$ fee of doing it over the phone. Finally, I decided to do an online chat, the associate did not know why the error was occurring but informed me in order to change my number over chat, i would STILL have to pay the 15$ fee. Something struck me as so wrong there, so conveniently the change features and phone number part of the website was not working, however the view/pay your bill part was always working properly, never received any error messages there. I understood it was not the associates fault however. Still that is wrong. If it was not urgent I would wait. Yes I could have tried the number block, that section was not working either, but having to renew which numbers you want blocked every couple of months makes no sense to me, if I want something blocked, i want it blocked permanently not just for 90 days. Yes I tried call/SMS blocker apps from the app store but they're faulty in that they still give you notifications of when the blocked person/number called/text or do not always block everything all the time. But when it came down to it, even the associate encountered the error message while trying to change my number. So why is this happening. Verizon is expensive but the reception is better however theirs always issues when I need to fix something. Its frustrating

Verizon was having a problem on their end, perhaps a server down for some repair or updating. However you were already aware that there was an on-going problem in your own posting and you decided to continue on.I can understand you wanting this done and trying to save the $15.00 fee. However I would have waited a bit longer until the Verizon issue had been corrected. Yes it is frustrating but again you know in advance of a problem , I can understand that this is most upsetting for you but never try to perform any change when a problem is there and I also do not like to do business on a weekend with no live tech support available. I'm sure this will all work out for you if given some time. Sorry.

I had to wipe my old hard drive unexpectedly, and have been trying to recover the bookmarks on my sync account on a fresh PC. How can I do this?

Same laptop, new hard drive. I know the bookmarks are out there on a cloud, but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to put them back on a PC

Did you save the Sync key of that Sync account before you wiped that drive?
The Sync key is used to encrypt the data locally before it is send to the sync server and without that key your data is lost and can't be recovered.<br />
If you have the sync key then you can set up Sync to use the old account with your email address and password that was used to create it.<br />
If you lost your password then a new password can be send to your email address, but your sync key is not stored on the sync server, so can't be recovered.<br />

Error message when trying to recover HD: PXE-E61 Media test failure

Hi all, new to forums, lots of good info and support here.
Got the BSOD last week. Have been trying all of the various fixes mentioned on the board, to no avail. I went back multiple pages looking for alternatives to try. After stepping away for a few days, I got farther today than I did when I was frustrated. F12, chose to boot HDD, and got the following LOOPING error message:
PXE-E61 Media test failure check cable
PXR-MDF exiting PXE rom
Which gives me hope that I may not have to replace my hard drive.
I have a satellite L455-5975, and have ordered recovery disc from acclaim ('0' option didn't work for me, which makes me wonder if Toshiba time limits that support, but that's off topic)
So it looks to me like my RealTek Ethernet Controller might be the problem? Any thoughts or suggestions? Anything I can do or should I wait for recovery disk to arrive? I worry that the recovery disk isn't going to do what I need. Do I need to replace the ethernet controller, or is this a sign of a hard drive issue? I consider myself 'fairly' tech savvy, but I've never taken a computer apart/put one together myself. It would definitely cost less for me to replace HD myself than putting it in the shop. So I'm willing to try that option if need be.
I appreciate any help/support! Reading some of the previous posts make me wonder if rather than investing more money in the satellite, if I shouldn't instead be saving up to buy a new(er) model.

I have a very similar problem with my mini-notebook model NB305.
I'm getting the same message and can't get past F2 or F12.
Bottom line; I ordered the recovery data from Toshiba on-line by model number ---not by type. They sent two DVDs. My unit doesn't have an optical drive.
First call to "John"---yes, you can copy the data to a thumb drive and use that.
Almost two hours of transferring --- the NB305 did not respond to the thumb drive.
Second call to "Paul". After some consultation on his part with someone else he told me that they don't make a thumbdrive (USB) recovery disk for my model, that's why I received two DVDs. ! I would have take it to a shop where they etc...
I haven't decided what to do next. Maybe purchase an external drive rather than take it to a repair shop where it will probably cost more than buying an inexpensive external drive.

Error Messages when trying to recover Satelite L300 on Vista

I have an L300 Sattelite that keeps freezing up so when I attempted to do a recovery I got an error message 10 fa12 045D and when I attempted to erase the disc completely I got an error message of 20 FFE 045D
This unit was sent into toshiba for repair and the techs said there was nothing wrong with the unit but my research is telling me there is probably a fault requiring replacement of the HDD - so now my warranty has just expired what do I do? Can I still take the unit in for repair since the original warranty issue was never properly addressed? or is there a way I can fix the error?

I never had this issue before but for me it sounds like a HDD problem too. If your notebook isnt under warranty anymore you have to purchase and exchange it yourself but thats no problem. You need only a HDD with SATA interface and exchanging takes only few minutes.
On the bottom side you can find the HDD cover that is secured with some screws. Remove it and then you are able to exchange the HDD. :)

Does anybody know why do I see this message when trying to download the free trial?

"Err"or message while trying to recover.. help!!

I have another issue.
I was doing the recovery with the HP disks. Everything seemed to be going good. It was downloading a bunch of apps on the computer. Restarted a few times. My desktop was up. Looked like it was gonna work.
Then it restarts once again & when it comes back on, it goes to a black screen that says: Err2Err3
Then a blinking cursor after it. I click enter and it then says : Err2Err3Operating System Not Found
And that's it. It just sits at that screen & Everytime I restart it, it goes right back to that screen.
Everything looked good & now this. What could have happened?

I went into the BIOS and did the hard drive test. It passed everything with flying colors!!
So I tried doing the recovery again. And again it seemed like everything was going good. Windows started, desktop was up, it was installing a bunch.of apps. After about 2 hours, it restarts and comes back.on and says something along the lines of, that system recovery didn't work or whatever. Then it restarts and the "recovery manager" thing comes on now.
It's weird tho cuz there us an "advanced options" button on here, then when I click it, the screen us basically blank, except there are 2 little circles, that I can select either one, but there us no description next to them. So I have no clue what I am choosing.
I dunno. I'll try to get a screenshot or picture of the screen so I can show you what I mean...
Any other suggestions on what I can try now??

My Iphone 4s just went blank today. I have tried charging, rebooting, restoring, and now recovering. Nothing seems to have worked While trying to recover, my Itunes says "waiting for Iphone" My screen shows the Apple logo and a status bar. It's 2 hrs

It sounds like you are constantly needing to restore your phone because it keeps going into recovery mode. Usually putting a device into recovery mode and restoring it can help isolate an issue to your iPhone hardware if an issue persists afterwards. I would try manually putting it into recovery mode and restoring it 1 more time:

Is there a way to recover old iMessages? Are these messages held in the network somewhere? If so, how easy is it to recover them? I need to look up some messages for a file of mine.

Look on the device.
If they've been deleted off the device, the only hope of finding them would be to restore to a backup created prior to them being deleted off the device.

Is there any way to recover old text messages after update

When i updated my new iPhone OS to the new system, i had to end up doing a restore. This wiped out all my info and while i have a backup on the computer. I can seem to find a way to recover old text messages via the iMessage platform. Is there any way to recover some of those old conversations? Some have sentimental value to them.

I just need the last month of texts and I had not backed up for several months.

If you had already installed the Verizon Messaging app, you can log into your MyVerizon account and see them there. If you don't have that app installed and being used for texting, then you are out of luck.

Iphone 4s: can not see old (but quite recent) text messages ol

Helping a friend with her iphone 4S. She can not see text messages that go back more than about a few weeks. I have been exchanging texts with her for several months, and compared text history on my iphone between her/I, with text history on her iphone between her/I. Text history on her iphone only goes back a few weeks. Similar story for other people she has texted with, but I can not see a pattern (such as "exactly 2 weeks"). When looking at text history on her iphone I see no option to "load older messages" or anything related. There is nothing else I can see to tap which would hide/reveal messages. I see nothing in Settings that might relate to this. Plenty of memory is available. I've searched the web but have not found any solutions. Any ideas would be appreciated.

-One funny thing I want to add too: when I put the iPhone in the Apple dock and connect it with my PC, I open iTunes and select my phone. There you can see the build, software version,.. But after telephonenumber it says N/A: not applicable.. Something I only just noticed. I'm pretty sure my number was displayed back in Nov. when I first got my iPhone 4S.
And the very last thing: Most of the time I have a very good signal, 4 out of 5 bars. It is only rarely that I have only 1 or 0 bars.
