Recovering/Syncing music from unoperational iphone4 to new one or itunes

Is it possible for me to recover music that was purchased on my old iphone4 which is unoperational and import it onto my new iphone4 and/or itunes?

I assume you are in New Jersey, so the answer is download your purchases again, either to iTunes of to your new iPhone.  If you are not in the US, redownload of music is not available yet.

  • Transfer Playlists & Music from old Ipod to new one - Shared ITunes

I have just bought a new ipod nano and want to transfer the music and playlists from my old 2nd generation ipod over. Unfortunately I share a computer and the library in ITunes isn't mine. I can connect both old and new ipods at the same time but obviously I Tunes won't let me just copy over. Any advice / suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

  • How do i sync music from old imac to new iphone?

I synced Handels music cd to old imac and nano. Then I bought new imac and new iphone. Never did migration. The new iphone is synced with new imac. I lost the Handel cd and I wanted to get the Handels music onto my new iphone. I want to transfer handels music from old imac (or old nano) to new imac or new iphone. Is this possible?
    Thanks for any input.
    Tim

You cannot transfer it directly to the iPhone, but you can copy the music to the new Mac. If they are on the same network you can drag the folder containing the music from the old iMac to the desktop on the new Mac. Then on the new mac drag and drop that folder onto iTunes in the dock bar. If they are not on the same network copy the folder to a data CD on the old Mac, then put the CD in the new Mac and drag the folder from the CD to iTunes.

  • Transfering Music from old PC to new one

Is there a way for me to use my I-Pod to transfer my I-Tunes playlist from my old PC to my new one? I am hesitant to sync it as it may delete everything off the IPod. Thanks in advance!

I have a rather specific issue to resolve. Having very recently bought a new computer, I planned to transfer all of my itunes over using my ipod. Unfortunately, my 14 month old ipod (80GB video) failed as it was being charged - it blipped and died on me. I have tried different methods of charging and it does not work. So with an ipod just out of warranty I have now got over 1000 songs on an old computer without a CD burner. I have this new computer, and I have just bought a new ipod. It does not like connecting to my old computer. I have a separate external back up device (an external hard drive I think) which will work on both computers. Can you please advise how I can transfer all of my songs using this external drive? My email is [email protected] Many thanks for your help.

  • How to transfer music from old computer to new one

The logic board is shot on my old iBook. I bought a new one. I can access the old one through target disk mode. I replaced the iTunes folder on the new one with the iTunes folder from the old one but the music doesn't show up in the library. If I go to the iTunes music folder and click on a song it gets added to the new library, but I have 4000 songs. My admin user name is the same on both computers. What's the secret?

    Hi
    Follow this:

Where the article talks about using an iPod you simply transfer directly between the old hard drive and the new hard drive.

  • Transfer video and music from old iphone to new one

I just purchased an iphone 4s and i wanna transfer my music, pictures and videos. How do i do it?

Are the music video in your iTunes? If not, please connect your old iPhone to iTunes and then click "Transfer Purchases" then all the music video file will be saved in your iTunes account. Finally connect your new iPhone to iTunes and sync.

  • Music from Old Ipod to New One

I recently cracked my 6th generation ipod Nano that has over 600 songs on it and I want to buy a new Nano but because most of my songs on the Nano are from a computer I no longer have the hard drive for I am wondering how I can get the songs from that ipod onto a new one without losing any of the music??

If the songs on your mini are not on your computer then you need to take the tracks from the mini and put them in iTunes, you can't transfer from iPod to iPod. If they are on the computer then all you need to do is connect your new iPod and it will update automatically. There are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the files from your iPod and return them to iTunes. This is just a selection, have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward.

  • Problem syncing ringtones from old iphone4 to new iphone4.

I got a new iphone4 and I'm having trouble getting all of my ringtones to sync. When I plug the old phone (also an iphone4) into my laptop and bring up itunes, it shows all 58 ringtones under "on this iphone", but only 22 of the tones show up under "tones". Those 22 tones are the only ones that will sync because the other ones won't show up. Help?

I backed up my iPhone 4 calendars & contacts to iCloud, and realize what you're saying, wjosten...if I keep this OS 10.5.8 computer, I will never be able to get my calendar back onto this computer unless I jailbreak the iPhone to roll back the operating system so the two can sync. Because yes, I realize iTunes 10.6.3 will not sync from iCloud.
Makes one wish apple might consider being a little flexible w/unalterable updates for cases like these where updating OSs and versions of software is not good for the customer, and without warning. I wouldn't have ever updated my iPhone to OS 6 if I knew it would mean I could no longer sync my iPhone and my $3500 still pretty super fast, quite capable, worth keeping, older 2008 Macbook Pro.

  • How to sync music from old computer to new and add music

I can see all my music in the library, but since I got a new computer,  can't add the new music I just bought and download to my shuffle.

    Hi clcaldwell46,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like you have signed into your Apple ID and are seeing all of your purchases on your new Windows 8 computer. The reason you may not be able to sync is because although you can see the music and stream it, it may not actually be located locally on your computer. Please use the attached article as a reference and for steps to download all of your purchased music to your iTunes library.
    Download past purchases
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
Download previous purchases on Mac or PC
Make sure your Mac or PC meets these system requirements:
    iTunes 10.3 or later
You need iTunes 10.6 or later to download previously purchased movies and TV shows.
iTunes account in a country where iTunes in the Cloud is available
    iTunes Store
         1.  Open iTunes and go to the iTunes Store.
         2.  Click Purchased in the Quick Links section.
         3.  Select the content type that you want to download (Music, Movies, TV Shows, Apps, or Books).
         4.  Select Not in My Library to view purchased content that isn't on your computer.
         5.  Find the item that you want to download. You can browse using the menu to the left. If you have more than 2,000 songs, you will see Recent Purchases instead of All Songs or Albums.
         6.  Click the Download icon next to the item you want to download.
If an item is already in your library, the Download icon won't appear.
    Have a great day,
    Joe

  • Moving music from old pc to new one

Can someone please help me as I am going out of my mind with frustration here. I am trying to move my Itunes music library from my old pc to my new laptop which is windows vista. Ive an ipod mini, and after following the instructions to the letter from the help article in how to do this, after 3 attempts, its not worked, itunes does not see the music I copied over. My new machine is authorised and the library appears to have copied over ok although I can't open it, but I know it contains the files as its the same size as the one I copied. Can anybody give me some easy to follow instructions or suggestions as to how I can rectify this...many thanks....Caz

I am with you on this one. I transferred all my iTunes library to this new PC. I have tried everything, including putting the music folders in Windows Media Player first, then dragging them to iTunes. But Media Player wont even tqake them.
Seems like a common issue with transferring iTunes from one PC to another PC. All my iTunes on PC #1 was burned from CDs to Itunes library. Folders appear in a .wma format. They are on the new PC. So, how do I geAt iTunes on the new PC to accept them into the library?
