Recovery (D:) has a red bar

I did a partial backup to the Recovery (D) drive back in 2007 and got a backup error of lack of space, I thought I corrected everything by deleting the partial backup but still have a red bar and when I check which files are in the Recovery (D) I notice MediaID BIN File that seems to be added there around the same time I did the partial backup. This MediaID file is a video of the windows media features. There is also a "Configuration settings" file that was just recently added, maybe from an update and it's located as a hidden file. I don't seem to see recovery file that I think is supposed to be there and am wondering if this may be a problem. The Recovery (D) drive shows 599 MG free of 6.26 GB space. Any Ideas on what the problem may be or how to recover the "Recovery file" if I need it, and would reinstallation of the "driver" delete any updates that have occurred over the years.

Have you Created Recovery Disk?
if yes then there is nothing to worry abt. in this case no need to restore missing file.
backup all the data from your PC (Everything all personal data, pictures, videos everything)
not the programs files only your Personal DATA
Boot your PC from Recovery DISK 1 & run system recovery using Destructive method.
wht this will do is this will delete everything from your laptop then it will create Recovery Partiton again & then Install Factory Default Operating System.
do it only if it is requried otherwise no need to do it.

    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.

  • Application folder icon in the Dock has a thick red bar

The application folder icon in the Dock has a thick red bar across the top back. What does this mean? Assuming red is a negative indicator, how do I fix the issue?
    Thank you.

    Problem solved.
It was the top of a red icon in the folder (Adobe of course). Found this out by arranging by kind rather then name.
Feeling kind of red (faced) myself at this point.

  • Top activity (red bar) enterprise manager

    Hi I am new to oracle 10g and performance tuning;
When I look at the top activity from enterprise manager, I notice that one person has red bar(which is making update). The activity is around %65, and the user said that the system hangs, it takes too long to finish the operation.
Does the red bar occurs in update statements? What can be solution

No one reading this has even the slightest idea of what red bar on what page and how it might or might not relate to any DML statement.
Drill down and find out what is happening for that specific user having the issue. What were they doing? What SQL statement. Does it correspond with top SQL in OEM Grid?
Then run ADDM and Explain Plan and if you can't figure out what is happening post the SQL statement and the explain plan (created using DBMS_XPLAN) and any relevant index information and we'll take a look.

  • Red bar, funky clips?

Brought project from FCP7 to FCPX via 7toX for Final Cut Pro.
Several clips have a red bar overtop them, in the timeline.  The clips are black on the monitor (no image).  When I do a 'Reveal in Browser' it doesn't go to the clip, but actually creates these new odd icons in the Browser (see attachment).
I've tried to relink the clips.  No such luck.  I've re-imported the clips from the media ... but they come in the same way, as a weird icon; and a dysfunctional clip.  The clips work fine in the Finder Window, or in FCP7.  Every time I click 'Reveal in Browser' it creates a new icon (clip 004_0139).
    Any ideas?

It sounds like you may have corrupted clips on your camera that iMovie cannot read.
The first thing I would try is to play back one of these clips using the camera's screen. If it plays OK on the camera, I would next try to go to the Import Screen in iMovie, and down toward the bottom it should give you the option to create a camera archive. This should make an exact duplicate of your camera card and store it on your hard disk.
Then try to import into iMovie from the Archive.
If that works, it is possible that your camera card is fragmented where iMovie can't read it. Once you know you have a good archive, see if your camera has an option to reformat the card or reinitialize the card.
You never mentioned a card, so you may have a hard drive rather than a SDHC card. The same thing may  help, but I am not sure, because my camera does not have a disk drive.
The above is a guess, but worth a try.

  • Red bar on Speedtest rather than green?

My Infinity has been poorly for a day or so.
Slow loading pages with timeout reload messages from chrome, no chance of doing online banking and even amazon a pain to load.
Calling BT, they wanted me to put my HH5 back on (have been using the BT modem and an Asus RT 66 U for months with no problems.
Anyway, it did work better but not for long and then was actually worse than before with netflix and itunes no longer working.
Anyway, looking at other screen dumps of the tester, the bars are both green, my one has a red download one and I now note a pathtically low speed!
    Now I get this
Why is it red and I suppose I will have to call BT again to speed things up...
BTW, I used to get that download speed without infinity.

My sisck infinity has been fairly stable till just after 18:00 this evening when it stopped.
On my laptop I noted the wifi signal thing had gone to limited or no connection so I looked at the HH5 which had a blue light on as usual.
After a while it recovered but has gone back to its old ways taking time to load pages and some part of a page never load.

  • In settings under Facebook I have a red bar saying delete account account

I'm not sure if this is a problem,
There is only a line for password
And a red bar in the middle of the page which says delete account
I don't want to delete my facebook account
Not sure what this is for
    Thanks

If you want to keep the data on your devices, you will first need to go to Settings>iCloud, turn all synced data to Off and when prompted choose to keep the data on your device.  Then, if you really want to delete everything from iCloud you can then go to icloud.com on your computer, sign into your iCloud account and delete the data there.  To delete contacts, for example, open Contacts on icloud.com, select any single contact, press control-A to select all contacts, the press your Delete key.  Do the same for you calendar (select an event, control-A, Delete).  Open Mail, in each folder select an email, control-A, Delete.  Continue for Notes, Reminders and iWork documents.  Then reset your photo stream to remove all photos by clicking on your name, then Advanced, then Reset Photo Stream.  If you also want to delete an iCloud backup go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your backup, tap Delete Backup.  That's about it.  As I've said, you can continue to use the Apple ID.
Or, you can just delete the account from your devices as already discussed and not use the account.  The data will still be there but you would be the only one who has access to it.

  • Red Bar Across TIFF in Timeline Warning

Pardon if this has been discussed (red timeline seems to be in almost every post to search)...
I made about 12 flattened .tif files in Photoshop CS2, 720x540.
    No LZW.
About four of the TIFFs have a red bar on their icon clips in the Timeline.
The files preview fine and appear good in FCP 5.04.
I can't read the warning even if zoomed in on the Timeline at 100% frames.
I have deleted all all Render files and re rendered.
I have deleted the files from the Timeline and Browser and re introduced them.
I still can't get rid of the warning.
IS THIS A BUG or am I missing something?

What Andy said - it is only a display issue, BTW - nothing to worry about...

  • HP_RECOVERY D: drive has turned red

The HP_RECOVERY D: drive has turned red it is showing 400MB free of 6.19GB
I have followed instructions found in other threads and made the files visible, however I cannot find any files relating to "backup" (or files that may not be related to recovery) and therefore am very cautious about moving or deleting any thing for fear of bigger problems.
Can you advise what other steps I may take to get the drive back in the blue

I cannot help you with your older system -- at least not specifically for the contents in the Recovery folder.
I can show you the kinds of files you might expect to see in a newer Recovery partition so you can get an idea whether you have accidentally stored files of your own into your Recovery partition.  If you have placed personal files into the Recovery partition, you can carefully remove them.
The types of files you might expect to see are listed under the "Name" column.   The dates of the recovery files, although not shown in this example, would ordinarily reflect those dates from when the computer was new -- or near its last install or recovery date.
    I hope this helps.

  • What's the Point of iMovie's Vertical Red Bar?

iMovie 11 has a vertical red bar that moves all on its own, playing back whatever it likes. It shows me things I don't want to see and prevents me from seeing what I do want to see. I cannot find it in iMovie help. How do I tame this beast? Or how do I get it to stop? Since it's entire function seems to be to annoy me, can I rip it out altogether?

This is exactly my problem. Moving the mouse moves the playhead and that changes what is displayed. The playhead continues moving from that location. If I don't move the mouse, the playhead does not move, but it is not possible to operate the program without making menu selections and such. There isn't a keyboard shortcut for everything. Also, if I'm using the mouse to drag a selection to make a clip longer or shorter, the playhead starts marching right along, displaying whatever it pleases instead of what I'm working on.
The playhead is always moving, no matter what I do. Moving the mouse just changes its starting point.
There has got to be a way to make the playhead stop, or maybe break the unnatural connection between the mouse and the playhead. It's very hard for me to edit a movie when the part I'm not editing is playing.

  • My ipod classic 160 has a red circle with a X in the middle how do I get it to work?

My ipod classic stopped working.  It has a red circle with a X in the middle. I've troubleshooted but still can not get it to work.

    Hi Mildred,
    Happy Holidays!
The resource below will explain the steps you can take to resolve the issue you are having with your iPod classic.
iPod Displays a Red "X" Icon - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203170
The first step is to download the latest version of iTunes on your Mac or PC.  Then try the steps below.
    Restore iPod from Disk Mode
    Disconnect iPod from your computer.
Manually put iPod into Disk Mode.
Open the latest version of iTunes and connect iPod.
    Restore iPod.
    Setup Service for iPod
If you cannot force your iPod into disk mode and restore it, then your iPod may need service. Click one of the links below to setup an iPod Service Request online or make a reservation at the Genius Bar before visiting your local Apple Retail Store.

Putting iPod into Disk Mode - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201544
iPod devices with a Click Wheel
If necessary, verify that your iPod has a Click Wheel.
Before placing the iPod into Disk Mode, verify that it is charged.
Toggle the Hold switch on and off (set it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for at least six seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
When the Apple logo appears, release the Menu and Select buttons and immediately press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears.
Connect the iPod to your computer; the screen on the iPod will should say "Do not disconnect".
If you are having difficulty putting your iPod into Disk Mode, set it on a flat surface. Make sure that the finger pressing the Select button is not touching the Click Wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Play/Pause button toward the outside of the Click Wheel and not near the center. If you are still unable to put your iPod into Disk Mode, use one finger from one hand to press the Select button, and one finger from the other hand to press the Play/Pause button.
Older iPod models without a Click Wheel
Before placing the iPod into Disk Mode, verify that it has a charge.
Toggle the Hold switch on and off (set it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
Press and hold the Play/Pause and Menu buttons until the Apple/iPod logo appears, then release them. This resets iPod. When you reset iPod, all your music and data files are saved, but some customized settings may be lost.
When the Apple logo appears, immediately press and hold the Previous and Next buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears.
Connect the iPod to your computer; the screen on the iPod should say "Do not disconnect".
Restoring iPod to factory settings - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201540
It's important to understand the difference between updating and restoring. Updating simply installs the software that controls iPod and does not affect the songs and files stored on iPod's disk. Restoring erases the iPod's disk and restores iPod to its original factory condition.
Warning: Because restoring erases all the songs and files on iPod, back up any files you've saved on the iPod disk. All of your songs, videos, podcasts, audiobooks, and games can be loaded back to your iPod provided that you have them stored in your iTunes Library.
    How to restore iPod
Verify that you have an active Internet connection, because you may need to download new versions of the iTunes and iPod Software.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes if necessary.
Open iTunes. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.
    Click Restore.
If you are using a Mac, you will be asked to enter an administrator’s name and password.
A progress bar will appear on the computer screen, indicating that stage one of the restore process has begun. When this stage is done, iTunes will present one of two messages with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.
Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter (typically applies to older iPod models).
Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models).
During stage two of the restore process, the iPod displays an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remain connected to the computer or iPod power adapter during this stage.
Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see, because the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
After stage two of the restore process is complete, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear. It will ask you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences, as it did when you connected your iPod for the first time.
I hope this information helps ...
