Recovery Discs for P505-S8980 not working

I just replaced the HDD after the original one failed. The Toshiba recovery disks contain a set of five disks that I made with the Recovery Disc Creator. The first three are marked as "Recovery DVD Disc 1, 2 and 3" . The fourth is marked "Windows Recovery Environment (64 bit)" and the fifth is marked as "TOSHIBA Applications and Drivers DVD 1/1"
The first three discs load and then the computer starts setting up Windows. The computer won't prompt me to enter the last two discs and because of this my drivers are all showing that they have "no digital signature" or something similar.
How do I get the last two Recovery Discs to load

Satellite P505-S8980
Forget the last two discs. They are for something different.
my drivers are all showing that they have "no digital signature" or something similar.
And perhaps you have difficulty with Windows Updates? This smells like a problem we've seen before.
See if this fixes it.
An update that improves the compatibility of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 with AdvancedForm....
If that doesn't work, try installing an updated Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver.

  • Recovery Disc on New Harddrive not working

I have a HP MS213 all in one desktop.  The original hard drive went bad so I went and got aother hardrive that is the same size.  I ordered the recovery disk from HP.  I load all the recovery disc and after disc 3 it says to remove all recovery disc and it will now load the software and can take up to 3 hours.  I click next then after the splash screen it says Operating System not found.
Is there anything in the bios I need to change?

Hello Mike4172, If the HP Recovery Restore Disk set appears to have installed correctly, this should have no effect on the BIOS settings.
You may want to enter the BIOS and make sure the first boot device is the CD\DVD group and the hard drive is recognized and set as the second boot device.
It is possible the original hard drive was not faulty to start with and the system may have experienced another fault.

  • Can not make a recovery disc for Toshiba Laptop

When I try to make a recovery disc for my Toshiba Satellite L305-S5919 I receive the following message:
An error occurred in the recording phase. Please check if the disc is scratched or dirty.
    Error Code: 0E01B5-26-2A040301.
I have tried to do a recovery disc since buying the Computer in June 2009. The message always comes up at the same spot in the process. I am using DVD-R discs.

Can you burn to those disks using the regular Disk Writer Program?  It doesn't matter what type as long as it's to that same batch of disks.
I would contact Toshiba as per this post and request that they provide you with a set of Recovery Disks since you can't make your own.  They shouldn't charge you for them under the circumstances, but you might have to be forcefull about it.
If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

  • My SVD132190X has no recovery partition. Recovery discs from Sony may not have worked. (Error 393)

Hi there, my computer (SVD132190X) has no recovery partition due to the beta release of windows 10. Since I wanted it back, I got the recovery discs with the words SVD1322xPX. When I use it though, I get an error saying 393. I'm certain that I didn't set up raid and didn't add a hard drive. Any help?(Sidenote: From what I heard, if I do need another hard drive, then where can I get a speaker cover and its hard drive?)

    Hi ReSummit,
    Welcome to Sony Community!
The probable cause for code 393 is the RAID configuration. You mentioned you didn't modify or change this right? Please follow the steps here and change the RAID configuration back to RAID 0 and then try recovery: How to use the RAID Configuration Wizard with the Recovery Media Kit.
If still the same, then probably you're having a hardware issue or corrupted recovery discs. You may visit https://sony.encompass.com/ to purchase parts and accessories, and even recovery discs for your unit.
    Hope these helps.
    Thanks,
    Vincent

  • I need a new recovery disc for my MacBook help ASAP!!!

I need a new recovery disc for my MacBook so I can format and re-install the default operating system. I have lost the original recovery disc that came with my MacBook years ago. Can anybody tell me how and where I can order one from?
Also, I do have the original recorvery disc that came with my MacBook Pro, could I not just use this or would it not be compatible?
    Help ASAP please...
    Thank you!

For a fee, you could likely order a replacement install-restore DVD for your MacBook. To get the correct disc(s) and match the hardware to the system, you need to know and have the serial number of the product handy, and be able to answer some basic questions; and have a form of payment, such as credit card.
Call the Apple Store online (main US number, 1-800-MY-APPLE) or the main Apple Support number for US, 1-800-275-2273.
Or if you're in another country, you could try calling a Local in-country support number and ask, since they may have to redirect your call to another associate. See link below for Support phone numbers.
An operating systems specialist or other qualified person will be able to try & help obtain the correct disc or disc set; if the computer original gray-label set is no longer available, they may be able to check their extensive database against your product serial number to see if they may have another full install disc that can work.
This other option, if it happens, based on your MacBook serial number and build model identifier, could be slightly newer than the OS X version shipped with the MacBook, and not be gray-labeled.
A replacement install disc in retail version would not include any original MacBook applications, while a gray-label disc set should have most of them as part of a multiple DVD set, if available.

  • Create Recovery Disc For Windows 7

    Hi,
I have HP Pavillion p6310y desktop with Windows 7 (not sure 32 or 64 or whatever)
My computer got virus infection. These virus are located in very low level of hard drive. Also there are other virus. Virus supporters want to remove these virus, but they are afraid my computer may be unoperable due to virus location level. They ask me to get rescue or recovery disc for the computer
Now I searched to create rescue disc via link http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01867124&tmp_task=solveCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc... , but I couldn't find "recovery manager". I do see recovery via control panel, but couldn't find a way to bring a image like link shown.
Anyone can help me to create the recovery or rescue disc for the hp?
    Thanks.

OK... time to kill two stones with one bird...
    Q: How I know my computer is window 7 32-bit or 64-bit?
A: I previously posted this "Windows 7 64b A1NAv6PrA1 + Supp 7 Recovery Kit" which states 64bit. Additionally, here is a link to your computer's specs... click on the "+" under "Software" at the bottom of the page.
Q: If virus is located in lower level of hard drive or computer, then try to remove them, it is likely to damage the computer and hard drive?
A: A virus, almost any virus is incapable of causing physical damage to your computer. The only damage they cause is to your data, installed programs, OS, and maybe your wallet. All it takes to remove most viruses is to format the drive.

  • Re: Need Win 7 Recovery Disc for my Satellite Pro L750

    Hi all,
Could someone tell me where to download or get a copy of the OEM Win 7 Recovery disc for my Satellite Pro L750? The laptop has a new HDD without a working recovery partition and I don't the recovery CD.
    Help Please.

Yes of course you should make backup disks but this was my first personal laptop (unbelievable, right ? Never needed one before) and I wasn't aware i couldn't just make a recovery disk from any pc like I used to do for my desktop. The hdd is supposed to last for what, 5,000 hours ?
I would be lucky to have had more than 1,000 hours on it. And no games play either; it had an easy life.
As per Microsoft Forums I did a clean install of Windows 7 using a supposedly OEM setting download from Digital River (OEM in the 'channel' setting in the ei.efg file) but good old Toshiba must do something else in the hardware as slmgr /dli still states it's a 'retail' version so even though Microsoft would have given me a new product key (as to which i am entitled as i have purchased a licence when i bought the laptop), because the installation id states retail based, my genuine licence key number from the bottom of the laptop does not register as genuine when they check.
I tried my desktop pc oem windows 7 installation disk that I got with the pc (now there's a whacky idea, providing a disk with the purchase...) and no luck there either. The laptop was still locked to its own licence key and retail version. I'm guessing even if i bought a new retail windows copy, it still wouldn't work !
I still think $66 is far too much to pay to get the disks. I've already paid for the windows licence, But what choice has toshiba left me, other than to pay them their blood money.
I may be a slow learner, but I do learn. I will never buy a Toshiba laptop, or other Toshiba product again. Sure, other companies will have the same licensing setup, but I'm not angry at them !

  • Ebay-password Recovery Disc for Mac OSX Lion

Dear Apple Support Communities: recently on ebay, I have seen several sellers selling a Password Recovery Disc for Mac OSX Lion. This Password Recovery disc claims to be able to reset Lion's password of any user account WITHOUT knowing the old password! Is this possible? This is scary! If so, is there a way to prevent someone from using this disc to reset someone's password without them knowing it? If you want to see for yourself: go to ebay and enter item #  251037274344 for example. There are other sellers also. Thanks.

Anyone can do this from the terminal without even a CD, so no it's not very scary.
If they advertised that they could get into file vault, or the keychain, then that would be another story altogether.

  • Recovery disc for HP 15-r008tu

    Hello,
How do I go about ordering recovery disc for my laptop? Any LINK? I never burned the recovery disc off and I need it as soon as possible because my hard disk crashed and laptop went for hard disk replacemet. Thanks

Sorry, but according to the specs, this model was shipped from the factory with Windows 8 64-bit installed. Because Windows 8 64-bit was the factory installed OS, it is going to be the only OS available on HP Recovery Media. If you wish to install Windows 7 Pro, you will need to purchase a copy with valid Microsoft COA and product key.
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
