Recovery manager ProBook 4530s

Helo board
Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 7) is explained here:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01867418&cc=us&destPage=document&lc=en&tmp_docn...
I have two questions:
1)    HP Recovery Manager is not on my ProBook 4530s. Is it available for this laptop?
2)    How can I do a "no-format non-destructive reinstall"  of win 7 64bit on my ProBook 4530s - (using Recovery Manager if possible?) -  i.e. reinstall without formatting, loosing data or settings ?
If HP Recovery Manager is not available to my ProBook 4530s, then I wonder if the link below is a preferable way to do a no-format non-destructive reinstall - or is there a risk, that it will hamper some HP-installations or settings?

  • Bluetooth radio missing, not found in device manager - Probook 4530s

I have a Probook 4530s with Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit installed on it. A little while ago I wanted to use bluetooth for networking, but thee was no bluetooth adapter in the Network Connections window. I looked in Device Manager next, thinking maybe there was something wrong with the driver, but no bluetooth adapter showed. I've tried rebooting, turning it off and on in BIOS, and even just pressing the wireless button, but nothing has worked.
Along with Windows, I have Mac and Ubuntu installed. Bluetooth dooesn't work on any of the operating systems, but it used to.
Any help with getting my adapter working again would be appreciated.

    Hi,
Its more than likely Ubuntu that has caused the problem. I can't say for sure though as I've never used the model of laptop you have. With the WiFi/Bluetooth portion of the hardware its not just a driver that keeps the hardware running correctly, there is a firmware as well. I managed to kill my WiFi card for a while when I was messing with Linux OS's.  Find out the precise model of the bluetooth adapter on your laptop (it may be a WiFi/Bluetooth combo card?) then start searching the Linux communities for information about the firmware for the cards.
Sorry I can't be more helpful.

  • Recovery Disc & new ProBook 4530s

How do I create a recovery disc for a new ProBook 4530s with Windows 7?  I can't find Recovery Manager software on the pc and the pc didn't ask me if I wanted to create a recovery disc.

    Hi:
    I don't think you can create a recovery disk on a 4530s.
It should have a recovery partition which you can use to restore the PC by striking the F11 key at the splash screen and launching the recovery process.  Of course a recovery partition is useless if the hard drive dies, or you want to install a new HDD.
You can order a quick restore disk set, which I always do for all my HP business PC's and notebooks for $10, if you live in the USA or Canada. If you don't live in the USA or Canada, skip to the bottom of my post for instructions to order.
    Here's how:
    1. Write down the part number and serial # on the bottom of the computer on the white tag. The model # is an HP-Compaq 4530s, but the part number will be found on that white tag below the serial #.
    2. Call HP at 1-800-952-7689, option 1 (ordering restore disks is part of the list in the option).
    3. Provide the info asked by the rep that answers the phone. Some just ask for the serial #, some want both, or they will just want the serial number and type of computer (4530s).
    4. Have a Master Card or Visa ready for purchasing. You will be charged $10.00.
You will receive the disks by First Class Mail or you can pay an additional $10.00 for FedEx shipping.
If you don't live in the USA or Canada, contact HP Support by telephone for the country you live in at the link below.  If they have a separate number for business PC's/notebooks, call that number. You will need to provide the customer services rep the same info as above (model and serial #).
Costs range from free to more than $10 depending on where you live.

  • Problem creating Recovery Discs with HP Probook 4530s Notebook PC.

I have a HP ProBook 4530s Notebook computer my daughter gave me. It is 5 months out of warranty. I had to recover it using Recovery Manager and the recovery partition.  The OS is W7 Home Premium 64 bit.
An HP support document says that I can create Windows 7 recovery discs using DVD-R media. It says to click Start, then All Programs, then Recovery Manager.
The problem is there is no Recovery Manager in All Programs. I want to create recovery discs instead of relying on the recovery partition.
I called HP and they had no explanation. I asked them if the instructions were wrong or were they right but for some reason Recovery Manager was missing from All Programs. All they could tell me is to recover it using the recovery partition by restarting the computer and then pushing F11 for the Recovery Manager. That works to recover the computer but NOT to create recovery discs.
Is there any way to create Recovery discs?

    Hi
Not without the recovery manager, which is not included on every HP business notebook.
My HP Elitebook 6930p came with a recovery partition but no recovery disks, recovery manager program to make recovery disks.
    And it cannot be downloaded.
If you live in the USA, call HP at this number, 1-800-334-5144 and order a set of recovery disks.
You will need to provide the model number and serial number to the customer support rep.
Since the notebook is out of warranty, there will be a charge of $10 for the set of recovery disks.

  • Recovery Manager Software for HP Probook 440

    Hi there,
I am looking to make a recovery disk for my window 8.1 pro. But i am missing recovery manager software? Is there any help? I have searched but i didn't get!!

    Hi:
You can see if this W8.1 recovery manager software will work for your model.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-135303-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...
If not, when your notebook doesn't have the recovery manager software, you will have to order a set of recovery disks for your notebook from HP.
Contact them for the country you live in at the link below.

  • Recovery Manager gone

Hey, today I wanted to recover my notebook to factory settings, but i realized that neither the recovery manager is installed anymore nor the f11 routine after reboot works. The weird thing is that the recovery partition (D is still available, but as mentioned before not the recovery manager. I did not do anything (I know you have to read this all the time). The program is just gone. Does it have something to do with installation of the latest bios version (f.60)? Product:HP ProBook 4530s Do you need the model and serial number? Best regards

Ok, I expected that such an answer would come. Unfortunately I did not make any recovery discs. I know which suggestions come next. Normally you have to do that....bla, bla, bla and now I have to order some discs, which I have to pay, right? But before I go on I want to clarify the following. The funny point is that the program itself is gone, altough I did not deinstall it and the partition is there as well. Normally, a program which does not get deinstalled should be on the system, right. I do not talk about the fact that it does not work or does not get started. That would be another point, but it is just gone, out of nowhere.

  • No able to boot from CD-ROM - ProBook 4530s

    Hello ,
    I have a ProBook 4530s (A7K05UT # ABA) computer which i want to format
when entering the BIOS configuration i dont have the CD-ROM option.
there is a "USB CD-ROM" option, USB Flppy but no "CD-ROM" alon
Choosing "USB CD-ROM" is not working and the disk is not uploaded
Do you know how can i fix this boot problem?

    Hi,
There are Two options to try and reinstall Windows - the 2nd is the easiest, but you may want to try the 1st to see if it will save you having to order a replacement set of discs - make sure to back-up any important files first.
    1.  If you can still boot in to Windows, hold down the Windows Key and press R.  Into the Run Box type compmgmt.msc and hit enter.  Click Disk Management in the left pane and when the partitions have loaded, right click the Recovery Partition and mark it as 'Active'.  Close all open windows and then restart - if this has worked, the notebook will boot from the Recovery Partition upon restart.
    2.  You can order a replacement set of Recovery Discs using the link below.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00810334&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en
If you have any problem with this link, order them directly from HP.
If you live in the US, contact HP Here.
If you are in another part of the world, start Here.

  • Hp4530s lacks recovery manager and recovery patition.

My hp probook 4530s - (core i3 2350m - Windows 7 64 bit) laptop lacks recovery manager and recovery patition. It has genuine windows 7 but it doesnt include recovery CDs as well.
1)So how can i recover the computer and set to factory settings with original OS and Hp software?
2)Can i do it by pressing F11 when booting.
3)Will it takes to recovery manager even if there is no recovery partition or recovery manager in the laptop?
4)Sellers say this product has a hidden recovery partition and it will work when you press F11. Is that true?
Please reply me as soon as possible. Thank you

    Hi:
if there is no recovery manager or recovery partition, then you won't be able to use the F11 method to recover the OS.
I never heard of a hidden recovery partition on any HP business notebook I am familiar with.
I guess you can always start up the PC and at the beginning of the HP welcome screen, tap the F11 key and see what prompts you get (if any).
The best thing to do, is to order a set of recovery disks from HP by calling them for the country you live in at the link below.
Call the number listed for business PC's notebooks. You will need to provide the model number and serial number.
    http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html
You can also make your own windows 7 reinstallation DVD if you can read the 25 character product key on the bottom of your notebook.  Here's how:
If you can read the 25 character Microsoft windows 7 product key, you can download plain Windows 7 ISO files to burn to a DVD for the version of windows that came installed on your PC, and that is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC's case.
Burn the ISO using the Burn ISO option on your DVD burning program and burn at the slowest possible speed your program will allow. This will create a bootable DVD.
Or use the Windows 7 USB/DVD installation tool to compile the ISO file you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB method of compilation.
    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/html/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool
Use the 25 character product key on the PC to activate the installation.
The key will activate either a 32 or 64 bit installation.
Then go to the PC's support and driver page to install the drivers you need.
Link to the W7 ISO file downloads is below.

You can try tapping "F" key used for "Recovery" immediate after turning the computer on. This may invoke the "HP Recovery" partition which may return the computer to a factory like state. Alternatively, you can try using the Windows Disk Management Console to mark or set the HP Recovery partition as active and reboot your computer. Please see HP - Partitioning and Naming Hard Drives (Windows 8) for information about using the Windows Disk Management Console. Upon rebooting, the computer should start the HP Recovery process. After recovering the computer to a factory like state, you should be able to create your personal HP Recovery Discs if you haven't aleady done so.
Both of the above methods require that the computer still has the HP Recovery partition intact and not corrupted.
The HP ProBook 4540s Notebook PC is a business class computer and as such, your question may be better answered in the HP Enterprise Business Community. You may also consider contacting the HP Business Support Center to request assistance with your issue.

I have tried several times to install win, vga latest update, install all drivers but still above. ask how to fix how, I would like to thank

    Hello @pio4791 ,
To get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial product. You can do this at Commercial Forums.
Even though this is a Commercial product, here is a link to your drivers from your product page for Windows 7. I would uninstall the Video drivers from your device manager.  All of the drivers and software.  Restart the notebook and check the device manager. If the video drivers are installed not further action is needed.
Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers that need updating.
