Recovery Mode - Lost Songs

Hi All,
I hadn't use my IPOD Nano (1st Gen.) for a few weeks. I was visiting a friend who was about 40 miles away from home so I decided to update some of my music in the Nano and also give it a little charge.
However, when I ran ITunes (for Windows XP), the software reported my IPOD was in recovery mode. I thought that didn't sound right so I didn't do a restore/recovery of the Nano immediately.
Instead, I ejected the Nano and then plugged it back into the USB port again. ITunes reported the Nano was in recovery mode again. Unfortunately, I was in a bit of a rush, so I do the "restore/recovery" of the Nano including a firmware upgrade.
The recovery process seemed to go ok and the new firmware was updated fine.
HOWEVER, after the Nano rebooted, I noticed all my songs were GONE. ITunes reported the Nano had an empty hard drive.
Any ideas what happened and is there any chance to restore my songs? If not, it's not a HUGE deal, most of my music collection were ripped from existing CD's so I'll just have to redo it. The few albums I bought from ITunes are still on my PC, so it's not a big loss.
It is more of an annoyance that anything else.

Lost songs, can't restore, recovery mode loop?

I plugged in my ipod nano for just a routine synch of some new songs. All appeared to synch as normal, but then I looked and it said "0 songs!!!" Next, an error message pops up and gives me no choice but to restore to factory settings, or cancel, so I chose to restore. Now, it says I am in "recovery mode," but nothing is happening. I seem to be caught in some loop that just keeps asking me to restore, whle ipod shows white screen with black "Do not Disconnect" flashing. But nothing appears to be happening. It has been this way for an hour.
Please help.....Don't know how things went so wrong just to synch a couple of new songs!!

I am afraid you have tried almost everything, the only suggestion is :-
C. Windows users having trouble with their iPods should locate a Mac user. In many cases when an iPod won't show up on a PC that it will show up on the Mac. Then it can be restored. When the PC user returns to his computer the iPod will be recognized by the PC, reformatted for the PC, and usable again. By the way, it works in reverse too. A Mac user often can get his iPod back by connecting it to a PC and restoring it.
Tips
a. It does not matter whether the format is completed or not, the key is to erase (or partly) the corrupted firmware files on the Hard Drive of the iPod. After that, when the iPod re-connected with a computer, it will be recognized as an fresh external hard drive, it will show up on the iTunes 7.
b. It is not a difficult issue for a Mac user to find a window base computer, for a PC user, if they can’t find any Mac user, they can go to a nearest Apple Shop for a favor.
c. You may need to switch around the PC and Mac, try to do several attempts between “Format” and “Restore”

Recover songs from iPhone in recovery mode?

Whenever I open my iPhone, it ask me to plug in to iTunes. When I do, it says to me that I need to do a restore before using it...
However if I do this, I will lost all my sons, as I don't have access to the original computer with all the songs...
Is there any software to recover my songs before I do a restore?

If your phone is in recovery mode, all data are already gone.
Have you not been using your phone as designed? Contacts should live in a cloud service or on a computer. Your phone should only be used for carrying a COPY of those contacts.

IPad 2 update for iOS 8 crash my iPad 2, iPad went into recovery mode I lost all my stuff that was on it why that happen ?

I Have the iPad 2, download the update iOS 8, but when I tap to install it, it crash my iPad 2 and made it go into recovery mode, why did that happen ? yes i I would of been satisfied that I drop it, and broke my iPad then the update crashing my Ipad 2. Because at least I know I did it, the apps I purchase iI'm not that upset about, but there's one app since I had to reset it to factory as new and update, I didn't want to reset it to factory setting, but I had no choice. I lost a lot of memerie. lesson learn next time I will update all my stuff on my PC to prevent this happening to me again. Never had a problem with pass update it was this update, that teach me a lesson, u can not always be computer free when it come to update any apple device.

My phone is stuck in recovery mode. Are my photos and videos that weren't downloaded lost?

I've been lazy about updating my phone. I plugged it into my computer tonight, the prompt came up and I absentmindedly clicked OK, you get the picture. It claims the update failed and now my phone is stuck in recovery mode. I can't believe I didn't back up my phone before I did this - I just wasn't thinking. Have I lost all my videos and pictures?

They should have been part of the backup. If you have already restored from the backup and they are not present on the phone, then they are gone. If you have not yet attempted to restore, just restore already... you don't have any other choice. Debating whether something will be there or not is pointless. It will, or it won't. discussing it won't change that.

Sorry, but if it's in recovery mode, anything on the phone is already gone. If you had PhotoStream turned on, hopefully the photos will still be out there.
You have no choice at this point but to restore from your last backup.

How can I retrieve photos that were lost due to my 3GS going into recovery mode suddenly?

Yesterday I tried to open a couple of emails (that I get on a regular basis) but they didn't open; instead my. Mail just shut right down. I then realized I hadn't powered down in a couple days so I decided to power down and I plugged it in to charge as well. Within 20 mins it went into recovery mode. I've (my boyfriend) been able to restore the phone and update it but of course I had many photos on there that had not been backed up to iTunes yet.
Is there anyway to recover these lost photos??? Help please they are very important to me and I would like to get them back if its possible.

IPod Classic stores about 6000 songs and when I try and add more from library it detects van iPod in recovery mode and needs to be restored every time.

Can you play the song in iTunes?
If you can't the song file is probably corrupt and needs to be replaced.

5c in recovery mode will not restore or update - iTunes is current version - Completely lost and very frustrated :o(

My phone lately has been searching for service constantly, I would say that 80%of my day my phone is searching for service. There was a software update for I think 8.1.2, my phone didn't have enough storage, so I tried to do it through iTunes, when I did that, I got the connect to iTunes screen and couldn't get past it. So now I have put my phone into recovery mode and have run into nothing but issues. One iTunes will not let me update the software, secondly I can't restore it, I get a pop up saying something that my device isn't recognized. I'm completely lost and frustrated Need some suggestions...

Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything...
To minimise loss... Connect to iTunes on the computer you Usually Sync with and Restore from the most recent Backup...

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
