"Recovery Mode" message but nothing is wrong!
Hi!
I was just hooking my ipod (4GB 2nd Gen Nano) up to sync some new songs when I got the "detecting ipod in recovery mode - restore before you can use this ipod" message. Looking at the 'restore' button on the summary tab, it talks about restoring the ipod when there are problems.
Unfortunately (or fortunately!) there is nothing wrong with my ipod; it's not skipping during songs, frozen, missing tracks on play mode etc.
It seems like most people getting the "recovery" message have been having issues but I haven't!
Any ideas on what I can do so I don't have to restore my ipod (I don't want to lose all my songs!) is GREATLY appreciated!

I tried to update my iPhone 4S but I now keep getting an error saying I need to restore my phone before it can be used because it's in recovery mode! But if I restore it I lose all my media and data and I don't want to do that! Is there anything I can do?? Somone please help, i'm freaking out over here!
Anything that was on the phone is already gone. You have no choice but to restore. If you were backing up and syncing the phone on a regular basis, you should be able to restore your backup with minimal data loss.

My iPhone is not receiving mail but the following messages continue to flash over and over at the bottom of the screen: "Checking for messages, Updated just now, Checking for messages", etc. After a minute or so it will flash downloading 1 - 32 messages but nothing is received and then the "Checking for Messages," etc. starts back again. I turned the phone off for 30+ minutes and also tried to reset it, but the problem continues. Any ideas on how to solve the problem?
Double click the home button and swipe up the messages app to stop it, then open the app again. This pretty much completely stops the process and freshly opens it again, resolving problems at times. I have had this happen before as well on my iPad, I get a banner, check messages, and nothing new is there.
If that doesn't work, close the app like suggested above, but then restart the phone by holding down the home and lock button for 10-15 seconds until the apple logo appears. -
My Ipad shows following iCloud backup msg : " This iPad hasn't been backed up in 2 weeks. Backups happen when this iPad is plugged in, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi. " There is an OK button beneath the message but nothing happens when I press it. I have plugged in, locked it and its always in Wi-Fi region. Help !!!

I have problem with my IPAD2, there is meesage that IPAD hasn;t been backed up in 1 weeks. Backups happen when this IPAD is plugged in, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi. And then I press OK below those message, but nothing happen and can't do anything too. I push start button, they appear but still "can't reach them". Anybody knows how to fix it back to normal?
Go to Settings, iCloud, and then Storage and Backup. You will then see a button to backup your iPad. It may be that you have much stuff (i.e. photos, apps) for it to do a full backup but you will be able to tell what the estimated backup should be and what it will consist of so that you can choose to prune down items. If you don't want to backup and get rid of the messages you can just turn backup off from this area as well.

I updated to ios5 on another computer because i was stuck on the recovery mode loop but now the problem is that when i try sync to my current one iphone does not show up or sync at all.. any ideas? gonna try uninstall right now..
There is no way to consolidate iTunes accounts.
Setting up an iPhone has never required creation of a new Apple ID.
You've apparently purchased content with both Apple ID's. Sign into the device with the correct Apple ID and sync the content. -
I updated from ios 5.0.1 to 5.1. Midway through the update itunes crashed. I got it all working again and ever since I have been stuck in a recovery loop. DFU mode works fine, but when I go into recovery mode (yes I am doing it right, yes I have tried pwning, tinyumbrella, etc.) it still just gives me a white screen (I am not getting the plug arrow and itunes icon screen that shows up when you are in recovery mode). I am a huge fan of hacking, mods, and jbs, BUT have never done any on the iPad, (found it pointless).. nevertheless, I am stuck thanks to apple in a white screen and a nonworking iPad. If anyone has any ideas that does not include jbs, updating, restoring, restoring with internet off, restoring in DFU, I would gladly appreciate it. I would take it to the apple store but it was a friends and I didn't purchase it. My friend had the issue formerly and they had no idea what to do at apple (they usually try DFU, restore, and then have nothing else to tell you.

Backing up from within recovery mode - trying but its not happening....
So my MacBook pro has gone into this weird mode. I'm not sure but I think it's the safe mode (grey Apple logo, a circling 'loading' thing and a bar). After the bar loads fully, the laptop just shuts down itself. So after a few tries, I googled on my phone and on many forums, they said to press the option key to go into recovery mode. Now, I wanna back up my files into an external hard drive. I have one with more than 400 gb free.
And I followed the instructions for backing up in recovery mode: choose the Mac hard drive and make new image with destination as the external hard drive. The Mac hard drive is just about 160 something gb, more than enough space available on the external hard drive but every time I try making a new image, it says 'Unable to create "Maxi tosh HD.dmg" (file too large)'. I really don't understand what to do. I have my English assignment in there and my deadlines already over, I'm desperate. Please help!

I just bought the nano and when i connected it, it installed very quickly however it constantly says do not disconnect when plugged into computer and when i tunes opens it says an ipod was detected that is in recovery mode and that it cant be used with itunes. I bought this from best buy its not used...any ideas
i tried going through all that to change the drive but it doesn't show up as a drive it shows up in the Removable Storage Section and it really wont let me change anything from there

Hello, i have a MacBook Pro. The hard drive is failing to such an extent that I can't currently use the computer, only things like utility mode etc. I have connected it unto my iMac and using a Firewire in target disk mode, I am attempting to move files across using that mode. The HD of the Macbook Pro appears in the IMac devices menu and I copy and paste the appropriate folders/files but as I do this I get a progress bar which says "preparing to copy" but then nothing appears to happen. Any ideas on what to do? Is there a password or other issue here that I am over-looking. Perhaps the hard drive of my macbook pro is so corrupted that I can't move files over. Any help would be great?
Try moving smaller groups of files. I' guessing that you don't have a backup huh?

(e.g. $vector_size vs. $vectorsize), and use a PHP debugger or echo
statements to follow the code flow.
Perhaps use a function to handle error conditions to avoid repeating
code.
You might consider using the bulk FORALL statement in your PL/SQL procedure.
See the example in the Underground PHP and Oracle Manual.
In your example you would use:

The Iphone "Iphone" could not be restored. This device isn't eligible for the requested build. Then I am given the option to click "More Information", or Ok. I have followed all of the necessary steps, but I haven't had in suecessful trials. Will someone PLEASE help, I am REALLY ready to use my fricken 280 Dollar Iphone! Lol. Thanks.
Bad news: It sounds as if you were sold a jailbroken iPhone.
Good news: File a SNAD with eBay. Make sure all your correspondence has been through eBay Messaging. The fact that the seller has been ignoring you will not sit well with them.
You will get 100% of your money back, including shipping. Paypal will simply seize his funds and return what is yours.
Lesson: Don't buy a used iPhone.
It's much worse for the seller. His PayPal and eBay accounts will be frozen. Until he squares up with both you and eBay, he's out of money and out of business.
