Recovery partition and lost files g7-2254er Win 8

Hello! (sorry for my english)
My friend have HP g7-2254er COW24EA#ACB. Hi is loses laptop and after that Windows don't loaded corectly.
I'm try make recovery but not success.
After that I make factory recovey from boot time and Windows start again but I lost recovery with all fotos.
In Computer Managment - Disk Managment I see paritition 30Gb (Primary Partition) with 14Gb used spase but without any files inside.
How I can recovery user files?

Hi Dragon76ua,
Welcome to the HP Community, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I see that you had some issues doing a recovery. The missing 16GB from the primary partition is for the Windows operating system and those files are typically hidden you that a user can't accident deleted something. I have included a link here on how to see a hidden drive in Disk Management.
If you don't see a hidden drive then you have lost your other partition and unfortunately your photos are gone. A computer expert MIGHT be able to find some but it would cost quite a bit.

  • Missing Recovery Partition and Unrecognized File Systems

So, a long time ago I accidentally deleted my recovery partition and have recently been trying to fix it so that I can upgrade my OS to Mavericks. After browsing around here I found the Recovery Partition Creator 3.7 and used it to create a new recovery partition. Using the diskutil list command everything seemed to be fine and it looked like the partition was successfully created so I tried reinstalling OS X Lion by holding command R at startup. Doing so brought up the internet recovery menu and I selected reinstall Lion which was still unsuccessful because "a recovery partition could not be created". So, I decided to check in disk utility to see what might be wrong and I used the disk utility debug command in order to access disk utility's debug menu and show all the hidden partitions. Now, looking at these partitions I see two hidden partitions: disk0s1 which is an EFI partition, and disk0s3 which is the Apple Boot Partition that was created by Recovery Partition Creator 3.7. After verifying the partitions, disk utility is telling me that both my EFI and apple boot partitions have unrecognized file systems, my Macintosh HD partition is fine. At this point I do not know what to do.
Below are photos of the diskutil list and of what disk utility is showing me for the two hidden partitions.
For reference I am running OSX Lion 10.7.5 (11G63) on a early 2011 13 inch Macbook Pro (Base Model).
    Bootrom version: MBP81.0047.B27
    SMC Version: 1.68f99
Thank you all in advance for your help, feel free to ask me any questions.

Just an update, I went ahead and installed Lion again over the existing TM restored installation using the Lion Update file and at least File Vault is working. Interestingly, I still do not have a Recover partition so obviously something new for Apple Support to learn.

  • Recovery Partition mandatory for File Vault and unencrypted TM Backup?

I recently had to setup my Macbook Pro from scratch meaning erasing the whole disk and start from there.
The update to Lion took already place a while ago and I had File Vault active. After making a last backup using
TM I erased the disk and all partitions including Recovery partition and used the Leopard system DVD to boot
    the machine.
From there I used the restore function to restore my TM backup to the MacBook. However, as the drive was
not partioned and not formated, I had to do this manually. Apparently, the recovery process via TM does not include
that. After system recovery, I booted from the Macbook and all apps and configuration seemed ok.
I was a little surprised to see that I was able to do this recovery without being asked for ID and password of the user's File Vault access
or the File Vault recovery key. All I needed was the TM ID and password (which is different from the owners ID and password)
I am not sure if this is supposed to work like this but I looks rather easy to gain access to application an data of another user if that
    is all it takes?
Now booting Lion again, I checked File Vault and noticed it was disabled although it was enabled for quite a while and long time
before I took the latest backup. I could not turn it on, after providing a recovery key and asking me wether I wanted to write it down
or safe it with Apple which I declined I wanted to reboot the notebook to start encryption but stopped saying my partition or volume
would not support File Vault. This was GUID and MacOS Extended Journal partition and volume which to my knowledge would
certainly support File Vault. In fact this is basically what I had before when File Vault was turned on and running.
I called Apple support a few times. The second agent told me that it does not work because there is not recovery partition on my
system but there was when I took the latest backup and I do have other means to get the recovery screen. Anyway it seems that
File Vault required a local Recovery partition and I was wondering if anyone can tell me why this dependency exist. If I write down the
recovery key, why would I need it to be stored on my disk as well?
Also, if anyone has an idea if there is a way of creating a local recovery partition without having to go through the lenghty process of installing
Leopard then upgrade to Lion and install all the apps and configure the OS again, would be great? I assume when I am back on Lion and use the TM
backup for recovery, I probably end up with having the Recovery partition deleted and start from scratch again.
I am a little concerned about the fact that it seems so easy to gain access to a protected backup and that the TM restore process does not include
restoring partition and volumes as well. Who knows how many other dependencies exist and users have to reinstall their system again after recovery.
I was following the recovery instruction of Apple but perhaps someone knows a better way to do this?

Just an update, I went ahead and installed Lion again over the existing TM restored installation using the Lion Update file and at least File Vault is working. Interestingly, I still do not have a Recover partition so obviously something new for Apple Support to learn.

  • Option to delete recovery partition is lost after recover discs are made.

    This doesn't seem right..
I used Thinkvantage tools to make recovery discs.  Also in this tool was the option to recover the space of the recovery partition and add it to the overall C-drive space.
Unfortunately, now that I've made (and boot-tested) the recovery discs, I can't get back into the recovery disc tool to make use of the partition.  Is there any other way to run the recovery partition removal tool, or will I have to do it manually?

hi i want to use find my mac but i got this massage (some configurations, such as software or hardware RAID,do not support a recovery partition and can't be used with find my mac)

  • Some configurations such as a software or hardware RAID do not support a recovery partition and can't be used with Find My Mac.

I'm getting the following error message when attempting to invoke "Find My Mac"
Some configurations such as a software or hardware RAID do not support a recovery partition and can't be used with Find My Mac.

You have no recovery partition. This is a normal condition if your boot volume is a software RAID, or if you modified the partition table after running Boot Camp Assistant to create a Windows partition. Otherwise, you need to reinstall OS X in order to add a recovery partition.
If you don't have a current backup, you need to back up before you do anything else.
You have several options for reinstalling.
    1. If you have access to a local, unencrypted Time Machine backup volume, and if that volume has a backup of a Mac (not necessarily this one) that was running the same major version of OS X and did have a Recovery partition, then you can boot from the Time Machine volume into Recovery by holding down the option key at the startup chime. Encrypted Time Machine volumes are not bootable, nor are network backups.
    2. If your Mac shipped with OS X 10.7 or later preinstalled, or if it's one of the computers that can be upgraded to use OS X Internet Recovery, you may be able to netboot from an Apple server by holding down the key combination option-R  at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
Note: You need an always-on Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection to the Internet to use Recovery. It won’t work with USB or PPPoE modems, or with proxy servers, or with networks that require a certificate for authentication.
    3. Use Recovery Disk Assistant (RDA) on another Mac running the same major version of OS X as yours to create a bootable USB device. Boot your Mac from the device by holding down the option key at startup.Warning: All existing data on the USB device will be erased when you use RDA.
Once you've booted into Recovery, the OS X Utilities screen will appear. Follow the prompts to reinstall OS X. You don't need to erase the boot volume, and you won't need your backup unless something goes wrong. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade, so make a note of those before you begin.
If none of the above choices is open to you, then you'll have to start over from an OS X 10.6.8 installation. There's no need to overwrite your existing boot volume; you can use an external drive. Install 10.6 from the DVD you originally used to upgrade, or that came with the machine. Run Software Update and install all available updates. Log into the App Store with the Apple ID you used to buy 10.7 or later, and download the installer. When you run it, be sure to choose the right drive to install on.

  • Maverick upgrade: Can't create recovery partition and infinite loop

    Hi,
I'm using MacBook Air Mid 2011 with 256 GB SSD (~30 GB free disk space) running MacOS 10.7.4. So far I never followed the suggestion to upgrade to MacOS Maverick but yesterday I thought, OK, let's do it.
After the first reboot the setup started working, but after about 5 minutes it quit with the error message, it can't create the recovery partition and said, after a reboot, I would be sent back to my old MacOS.
However, it booted again into the setup, worked a few minutes, quite with the error message and said, I have to reboot. I tried this a few times but didn't find a way to cancel the setup, but boot into my existing MacOS installation.
I found no other solution than to make a full restore with TimeMachine.
I'm now wondering what the problem was. One point may be that I use FileVault for hard disk encryption and it never asked me for my hard disk password. This is in particular remarkable because TimeMachine didn't show me my internal hard disk as a restore target until I went to the disk utility and used Unlock on my hard disk where I had to enter my password. So maybe this is related?
I know I could run the upgrade without creating a recovery partition but now I'm concerned that other problems could occur if I don't identify the root cause.
    Best regards,
    Dominik

  • Whether a Recovery-partition and its all contents will be created automatically..?

Please tell me whether a Recovery-partition and its all contents will be created automatically when I install Mac OS X 10.7 on a fully formatted new hard drive?

Usually, but there are some conditions that can prevent it.  See "Some features of Mac OS X Lion are not supported for the disk (volume name)" appears during installation.
So, I get exactly the same (hidden) Recovery-partition on my Mac mini 2011 as from the store if I delete the hard drive current partitions scheme and create a new scheme with an only one (bootable) partition?
You can't do that, at least not from the Mini, while you're runing from it.
You can, however, remove and/or resize partitions in most cases.  See #4 in Using Disk Utility.

If you deleted the Recovery volume, the only way to create your Recovery HD again is by reinstalling OS X. If your Mac came with the OS X version you have, start in Internet Recovery (holding Command, Option and R keys) and reinstall OS X

Today October 26th I was prompted for 8.1 upgrade to fix minor bugs. Did 8.1 upgrade on my iphone 4S, phone went to recovery mode and lost all data. I see an itunes icon with a charger pointing  to it on the screen. I plugged the pphone to the laptop and get is itunes detected iPhone in recovery mode, you must restart the phone before you update ...and the download is taking 5 hours and i have 320 mbps download speed
Apple thinks i have an older phone and need to throw it and buy their new iphone 6. if thats the case, here is my middle finger... am going with some other OS

Apple doesn't care if you buy a newer phone or not.  Apple doesn't need your new iPhone purchase.  There are millions of people that have properly working older iPhones that voluntarily upgrade.
Your device crashed, and it could have been caused by any number of root causes, many of them not controlled by Apple.  Third party app, interruption of internet connection, interruption of power, etc.
If you came here to give the middle finger to Apple (childish behavior by the way), you're in the wrong place.  Go to www.apple.com/feedback.

  • Lost recovery partition and thus windows 7

Through my own fault I lost the trcovery partition and thus my Windows & which came with my E325. Is there a way of getting it?

    Hi Praguer,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community!
I’m sorry to hear that you are facing the issue with Windows recovery on ThinkPad E325.
Please try to perform the recovery from think vantage button in the system and follow onscreen instruction, if the think vantage button is not working then you have to purchase the recovery media.
However if it works then you can proceed with Think Vantage rescue and recovery.
Please click here to enter the link where you can get the steps for think vantage.
    Hope this helps.
    Best regards.

  • Pavillion g6 only boots into HP Recovery partition and won't save files

A student showed me her Pavillion g6 running 7 and said it was broken. On booting up up it goes right past the press esc prompt to a blinking cursor in the upper left corner. I hoped to  access the drive by booting from rescue cd's (linux etc.) with the same result (yes, they are near the top of the boot order).  So, I decide to rescue her files using the HP recovery manager and everything seems to work fine until it asks me to store the results on my USB device that it detected ... but the next button is inactive.
I notice that I can access files using the DOS prompt option - maybe that is a solution to saving her files [actually it is working now] but can I rescue the system.

    Hey jbol,
    Did you try
    Turn notebook off
Hold ESC and keep holding it
Press Power button to turn on like normal
Hold ESC until you see the Start Up Menu
You can change the amount of time it pauses at the start up options screen in msconfig.exe (Boot Tab > Timeout time), but if you can't load Windows  at the moment, that may not help much.
Also in addition to holding ESC, you could try holding either F9 - Boot Options, F10 - BIOS or F11 - Recovery Manager.
Hope these suggestions help! Let me know if you have any questions

  • How to unpartition D and its recovery partition and add to C using Windows 8.1 tools

I have a new Fujitsu Lifebook, Windows 8.1 with a 600gb disk and when I go into Disk management I see the following partitions in this order.
Healthy (Recovery Partition) 768 mb  100% free
Healthy (OEM Partition) 768 mb   100% free
Healthy (EFI Partition) 260 mb    100% fre
C: Healthy (Boot, Page File, Crash dump, primary Partition)  340 GB  88% free
Healthy (Recovery Partition) 350 mb  100% free
D: Healthy (Primary Partition) 340 GB  100% free
Disk Management does not let me free up the second recovery partition (between C: and D:) so I am not able expand C: after I free up D: because they are not contiguous.  How, using Windows 8.1 tools can I safely expand C: so that it'll be 680 GB (taking
