Recovery with F11.. Loade HP software continiously.

I am trying to recover the operation system that was on a friend's laptop.
Operating System: Vista Home Premium
Laptop: HP Pavilion Model DV6-1259DX 500G HD, 6G Memory
I don't have any of the materials that came with the laptop when it was purchased.
I didn't create any recovery disk.
I can't read the Windows Authentication bar code label on the bottom of the laptop.
The original hard drive with a recovery partition is in the laptop.
It seemed like an easy process to recover the OS from the recovery partition using F11. Everything went well during the recovery process, then it started to load some HP included software. It would load, reboot, and load some more, for hours.
I tried to break in during the process, but if I'm able to start the Task Manager, the computer overrides it and continues to load the HP software. On one occasion, I was able to get the sign-in screen, but it wouldn't accept an administrative password. It would accept a user password, but I don't know what it is.
I have an "Ultimate Boot 4 Windows CD". I can view and edit files on the OS partition and on the recovery partition. If I knew what to change in the startup directory, or how to edit the registry, this may solve my problem. Keep in mind, I can't use the Vista OS, and therefore can't use regedit or other such programs.
I have sent(twice) a discription of the problem to the HP support e-mail, but after several days, I've had no response.
Does anyone know of a number that I can call HP support without a charge?
I see on the forum the suggestion to download an ISO image file. I don't think that will help because I don't have the license key.
This may not be worth pursuing. It may be worth it to simply buy a license and install Windows 8.1
Any help would be appreciated.

I have seen reports of Vista recovery taking as long as- overnight. Be sure the wireless switch is on, and leave it running for awhile.

Leopard is no longer available at the Apple Store but may be available by calling Apple Phone Sales @ 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753).
If you can't obtain a retail install DVD from Apple, look on eBay or Google the installer part numbers to possibly find at an on-line store. Here's what to look for:

After you install the base 10.5, download & install the 10.5.8 combo update at http://support.apple.com/downloads/Mac_OS_X_10_5_8_Combo_Update

Caution - Leopard does not support classic mode. So, if you currently open OS 9 apps in classic mode, you won't be able to do this if you upgrade to Leopard.

And one more point, I am not an Apple user. This is my first experience and have had to learn as I go. So any explanations please break it down for a noob. I am fairly computer geeky but when it comes to Mac or Apple or iAnything... I have zero experience.

I have the iPhone 5 and have with 6.0.1 software version. Although I had them when I moved from iPhone 4 to the 5, the latest update has most of my songs on the phone listed in grey (over 95% of them) and I can't play them. They are still listed though.

P.S. When I look at my Playlists most of the songs are greyed out. However, at the bottom of the list there is a cloud icon with a downward facing arrow. When I click on it each song starts to "load" and after a few minutes I have the songs back on in the list. I have to do this to all my playlists (I had over 100) in order to get access to all my songs. Then I did a sync and it happened again!
I use iCloud for documents and some other things (calendar, contact, etc.) but am not aware that I have anything music-wise in the cloud. Any thougnts?

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

She said she was trying to duplicate an app or something, and all the the apps started shaking like when you delete them. I turned the iPod off, but it never turned back on completely. My Macbook pro keeps shutting down right after I log in. The power cord seems to be fine, so I think the computer has enough power. Right after logging in, it shows a grey background with a loading bar that loads only 1/4. Then it shuts down.

I have had my Macbook Pro since 2011 and it has been great until now. Suddenly, I can no longer get past the grey screen just after I log in. The grey screen appears with a loading bar, and the bar get 1/4 of the way complete, then the computer shuts off. My power cord seems to be working fine because this problem still occurred after using another power cord (from another Macbook). Keyboard does not light up, and the small green lights on the left side of the computer do not light up (this is an older version and these light indicate how charged the computer is). It is using the OS X Yosemite and recently had total clearing of the hard drive as it was transferring from one owner to another, so the hard drive isn't nearly full enough to be causing this problem. I've never run into this problem before with other Macbooks.

Hi. When you were in the recovery drive doing permissions, did you try and run a repair of the boot drive? Did you try single user mode? Try these first and then go back and try to reinstall the operating system.When I say repair boot drive I don't mean permissions. There are both options in disk utilities.When you open disk utilities ,you will see in the left column two drives plus possibly a boot partition that look like an external driv. click on the second drive and in first aid use repair disk. - Another USB port
- Reboot the computer

Blue Screen and data lost after rescue n recovery during F11 operation

when I start my T61 Laptop, i get complete blue screen with no addition error window. Pl. suggest solution to this problem.

Thanx for replying . Now the problem of immedietly solved when i booted my laptop with F8 . But the new problem arises. When I logged in, the system starts fine but when I run rescue n recovery option from thinkvantage button , the laptop restarts and then all errors shown. Like "c_1252.nls" file is missing or corrupted. This is the first messege I got while booting. Then I booted with F11 for rescue n recovery. I recovered file c_1252.nls from backup folder on harddrive. But when i restarted again the new c_0437.nls shown missing and this i got so many times after each n every rescue n recovery options. Then I again rescued all the files in system32 folder and restarted my laptop. Which restarts good uptill it asked for domain password . But when i clicked to enter the password the error messege shown " Diskeeper not present" and subsequently "SQL server is disturbed" like that . But the login successful and when the desktop arises the windows intstaller window shows but no further processing even i waited for 15 min. And above all I lost all my data saved in one n only drive that the LENEVO provided with OS. NO partiton. PL. suggest any solution this . Is it possible to recover my data since I didnt make any backup ?

1) Partition your hard drive or add an external drive and install Snow Leopard (with the Optional Rosetta) into it and then you can dual-boot (System Preferences:Startup Disk) into Snow Leopard and run FCE 3.5 there.
2) Use one of the following methods to install FCE 3.5 into Mavericks:

Reports on this forum seem to confirm that Final Cut Studio 2 will continue to operate in Mavericks once it is functionally installed, albeit some plug-ins may fail to function. FCE 3.5 is the same generation as FCS2, and presumably will continue to operate in Mavericks, as well.

Back up all data before proceeding.
Launch the Font Book application and validate all fonts. You must select the fonts in order to validate them. See the built-in help and this support article for instructions. If Font Book finds any issues, resolve them.
Start up in safe mode to rebuild the font caches. Restart as usual and test.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t start in safe mode. In that case, ask for instructions.
If you still have problems, then from the Font Book menu bar, select
File ▹ Restore Standard Fonts...
You'll be prompted to confirm, and then to enter your administrator login password.
Also note that if you deactivate or remove any built-in fonts, for instance by using a third-party font manager, the system may become unstable.

I do hope you have recent backup, because it look like your hard disk is failing. You can start up in Recovery Mode, and run Disk Utility to see if the disk can be fixed: OS X: About OS X Recovery - Apple Support
