Rectangular region of osccilating blue and beige (yellowish) pixels

I have a white Macbook (Mac OS X Tiger). Recently, I've noticed a strange rectangular region near the left side of my Macbook LCD display partly filled with oscillating blue and beige pixels. At first it was only a few pixels (and a small region) so I thought it was a negligible, but now it spans the entire vertical length of my macbook display near the left side (approx. 2 inches wide horizontally). I know it can't be stuck pixels or dead pixels because they seem to conform around dark areas and react to mouse pointer position. For instance, if I am watching anime the blue pixels seems to surround the character's defining features like their hair and nose (only at the region described above). I wish i could take a screen shot, but its not a software problem. I only got my laptop on the August of 2007 from my school. I was wondering if anyone else has this weird problem. I would also like to know if it's caused by pressure applied to the closed laptop (which is kept in a nice black cover) which is kept safely within my school bag everyday I go to college. If this is the problem, Apple should consider making more durable laptops that can withstand daily travel or at least me . I too am getting this problem but it's on the middle to right side. I get a 2 1/2 inch vertical blueish/purpleish speckled bar. I have no mouse or any control at that point. It has happened twice, each time when I do a restart. Each time I took out the battery, tried a few things as per phone support to no avail but when I waited a bit and then started it up it was fine again. Very strange. Purchased July '07. I will be sending it back but I need to purchase a desktop first as I can not be without for a week or two.
If any help is found please advise here. Thank you.

External exe launched in a rectangular region drawn

Please find an attachment. Kindly have a look on .uir file in the example. If i want to launch any external exe say e.g cmd.exe in the rectangular region drawn, what will be way of doing this as i am unable to launch .exe in the rectangular region specified.

You can use pipes to do this, though when I tried this I couldn't get a reliable solution. I abandoned pipes and simply coerced the output into a file that I then read in. This is a very crude solution and I suspect isn't very future proof but it works in W7! Code below might help:

What to do with my G3 Blue and White

Alright, this is my first post, so bare with me. Recently I have purchased a used Powermac G3, B&W 350MHZ computer. Within it, it contains a 6gb hard drive, and 256 MB Ram. I have never owned a mac before and I am very limited on my knowledge of them. I do enough on a PC to get by, so I hope they are similar. I purchased this computer ($60) for just a few things. One, for internet capability, via dial-up. Two, for Word processing, as well as other Office programs. And Third, to upload and download the few songs onto my 1gb ipod.
My first question is this. The computer itself doesn't come with and OS discs, yet it has Jaguar already installed. My girl friend has a G4 Powerbook, with the Panther discs, Is it possible to used her discs to upgrade the OS, and or would that be a smart thing to do, do to the lack of other program use. Two years ago, when she bought it, they said something about having limit user capability. Something about she could only use it on 3 computers or something. I don't understand how the lincencing works. She also has the new Office software, and she told me the same about Jaguar as she did Office, limited users. I don't understand how putting the programs on here would limit her uses else where. Its going to be her computer in the end.
My next question is, I know that it does need to be upgraded, and I am sure that the computer will be Rev.1, meaning the hard drive upgrade will be a hassle. I thought it would be easier just to find a small external drive just to get by. Its going to be mainly adults using it. Not a lot of junk and or pictures. Like I said, very limited use.
It comes with 256MB RAM, I do know that you can go up to 1G RAM via 4x256 Max. Do you think it would be worth the $ to upgrade the RAM. Also, if I were to do so, do you think that 1G is necesary for my basic use? Please tell me what you suggest as to the style and or brand?
I am in the process of trying to find a G4/ maybe 400-500 processor to switch out, just to assit in normal use. Through out ebay, they aren't thay expensive expecially the smaller processors. Is there a big change in speed from the G3 350 and the G4 400. Enough to worry about it?
I hope I am not to much of a rookie with all this. I am always up for a challange, ecspecially when you use someone elses money, though it is very limited.

Welcome to discussions.
The G3 B&W is a very fine computer, still very capible today. It is my favorite macintosh(im typing this post on mine). For starters 1gb of RAM will deffinatly make the computer nice and snappy, even for basic programs, so id recomend the upgrade. the 6gb HD will be enough for the OS, but you wont have much room for installing programs. You will have two options for upgrading the HDD, 1. you can buy a PCI ATA controller card (around $40, and must be mac compatible) and put a Large Drive on the machine, the card will increase drive access preformance, thus making the machine faster. 2. If you dont want to drop the extra $$ into the card you can put a new HDD in the bay under the CD-ROM, and bypass the flaky ATA controller. To do this you will need to remove the Zip Drive (if you have one) and slide the HDD in. Set the Jumpers on the CD drive to slave and the HDD to Master. If you indeed purcase a G4 processor it will make the Machine much quicker. BUT it MUST BE a ZIF proccessor, or it won't fit in the machine. Now onto the OS. Upgrading to panther will make the computer quicker. Are your girlfriends panthar disks retail bought (black disks with a grey X on them)? or are they the Powerbook Disks?-those wont work. As far as the 3 user limit, that wont limit the use of the computer, it just can't be installed on more than 3 computers at one time.(this only applys if you register andthe computers are on a network. If the software is only on the powerbook, installing on your computer will break the 3 user limit.

I couldnt get to the hard drive/ desktop. Soft login not even working. So i could not do any of that.
In the end i took it to Apple and its actually the hard drive on its way out. A common issue with that series of Mac. Funny seeing i dont use this mac much. However being 2.5 years old and out of warrently, Apple have recognise this issue with this series/ Model and installing a new hard drive at no cost.
Very luck and greatful. And not feeling so dumb that it was something i did or could troubleshoot myself.

There is no way for anyone here to know if your replacement iPad is a refurbished unit. Per Apple's replacement policy, replacements can be refurbished units. If you feel the unit is not working correctly, take it back, let them check it out and if found defective, they will replace that unit.

Last night my iphone screen all of a sudden was solid blue and now it is black. I tried turning it on and off. Still nothing appeared on the screen. I put it on the charger and this morning it is totally black. However, when I hit the on and off button, I did hear the text message signal go off. When I turned the volume on and off a big white bell flashed. In the last week, there were some other display problems such as the screen blowing up large. The only way to fix it was to turn off the phone and then turn it back on.
What does all of this mean? It seems like I've had these problems since the iphone 4 upgrade.

In Earthlink WebMail when inserting an email address or weblink, the text no longer turns blue and underlines, and I can't change font colors. IE Works.

Whenever I try to insert an email address or a link to a website, I no longer get the automatic hyperlink (turning blue and underlining). Also if I try to change the font color on some text it either doesn't change from black or it changes to a different color. (If I try to change to red, I get dark green; change to a bright green, I get dark red; change to blue or yellow, I get black).
I tried removing and reinstalling Firefox to no avail. Earthlink is clueless.
This all works properly using Internet Explorer.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:

On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first) using either of these. While viewing a page on the site:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
These features rely on JavaScript, and it sounds as though you have scripting enabled if you get (the wrong) color changes. Some add-ons might alter the way scripts operate, so a standard diagnostic to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings) is to try Firefox's Safe Mode.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [[Backing up your information]]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, restart Firefox in Firefox's Safe Mode ([[Safe Mode]]) using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode."
If those features work correctly, this points to one of your extensions or custom settings as the problem.

What model iMac? Could be a failing video card but maybe not. Is it that way on every screen, startup to shutdown, any time the screen is lit?
Do you have an AASP nearby? Time to have an estimate made. Fixing it will likely be very expensive.
