Recurring calendar meeting issue

A few users are having the same issue with recurring calendar meetings. When opening the message outlook will display "This meeting request was updated after this message was sent. You should open a later update or open the item on the calendar."
These meetings have not been updated or changed. Additionally they are not able to accept the meeting. Any ideas?

Hi,
I notice there are just a few users have this issue, I suggest double check whether this issue relates to Outlook client, first.
Does this issue occur in Outlook or OWA? Please using OWA to verify whether this issue exist.
If everything is OK in OWA, it seems an issue relates to Outlook client side.
I suggest running Outlook under the safe mode to avoid some AVs and add-ins for testing.
I suggest re-creating a profile to refresh the caches for testing.
If this issue also occur in OWA, let's narrow down this issue on the Exchange server side.
1. Did you give additional people a delegate permission? Maybe the user how has delegate permisson update the meeting.
2. Please run following command to set the calendar update automatically:
Set-CalendarProcessing -Identity "mailbox" -AutomateProcessing AutoUpdate
More details in the following article:
Set-CalendarProcessing

  • Outlook - Recurring Calendar Meetings

I have a recurring calendar meeting set up for our company's monthly team meeting.  The attendee list is a global distribution list.  The distribution list is updated automatically when we hire new associates.  Do I still need to send a meeting
    request to each new associate?
    Thanks,
    Lisa

    Hi Lisa,
Yes, we need to send the monthly team meeting to the new hire. The meeting request is only sent to the old distribution list members though the distribution list is updated automatically. Therefore, the meeting request can be updated with new users
    added by the following steps:
    1. Open the created meeting request in Calendar.
    2. Add new users in the TO field of the meeting request.
    3. Click Send Update to send the changes, then a Send Update to Attendees dialog would pop up.
    4. Check Send updates only to added or deleted attendees, and click OK.
Then the meeting updates would only be sent to new users.

  • E52 calendar sync issue for recurring meeting in M...

I use Nokia PC Sync (PC Suite 7.1.26.0) to update the calendar of my E52, but found out that it simply does not synchronize recurring meetings in MS Outlook 2007.
I consider this a serious problem, as I miss many important items from my calendar, and do not want to add them manually. Did anybody experience the same problem? Any ideas how to overcome?

Try increasing the time range for future calendar items. If not try using the newest Ovi Suite. It syncs recurring calendar event to my E55 (same as E52 essentially) just fine.

  • Recurring calendar event bug from Exchange

In Outlook, we can create a recurring meeting for things like the first Monday of the month, or the 5th of every month.  But if we schedule a meeting to occur the second weekday of every month, it appears wrong on our phones for every date except the very first one.  In other words, each subsequent month is wrong.  For what it's worth, we also get incorrect results on Android phones.  But Windows phones handles it properly.
Has anybody else run into this on their iPhone, and if so, did anybody find a solution other than creating a bunch of individual meetings to hit the proper dates??

Just following up if anybody else has run into this bug in the way the iOS interprets certain recurring calendar events synched from Exchange?
To experience this bug, create a recurring event in Exchange (via Outlook) and set it to occur the second weekday of every month.  The first month on your iPhone/iPad will be correct, and every month after it will be very wrong.
Hopefully Apple can fix this at some point.

  • Alerts for recurring calendar appointments do not go off

Does anyone else have this issue?  I have a bunch of recurring calendar events, set up in Outlook 2010, which the iPhone 4 used to show alerts for.  Now (not sure when this started, but w/in last few months) there aren't any alerts even though I can see "1 day before" in the iPhone Calendar app for the recurring event.  I even made a slight change to the recurring event in hopes of getting them back on track but no luck.  Thanks.

I'm having the exact same issue with my iPhone 4 (iOS 4.3.3, 4.3.4 and 4.3.5). I'm a new user (this is my first iPhone, bought one month ago), so I can't comment on earlier iOS versions. In the one month that I have the phone, I'm absolutely sure that I have never had an alert from a recurring event. I only noticed it a couple of weeks ago. I'm only using all-day events (for anniversaries, etc.), so I'm not sure if the same applies to other types of events.
I have made several tests and I can confirm that no alerts are generated for recurring all-day events. Something is seriously messed up in the Calendar App algorithms. At first I thought it had to do with MS Outlook 2007, whose calendar is synced with the iPhone. But when I create a recurring all-day event directly on the iPhone I get exactly the same behaviour (no alert, no pop-up, no sound, nothing). I can see the event on Calendar on the iPhone, and I can also see the alert settings (the time it should be generated, e.g., "Alert: 2 hours before"). So everything looks OK on the iPhone, but the alerts are never generated. I also did a test with a non-recurring all-day event, and everything worked fine (I got the alert pop-up and sound at the time I specified). This means that it's something specific to recurring events. Finally, I restored the iPhone to factory defaults and tried again by creating a recurring event directly on the untouched, factory-reset iPhone. Same thing, no alerts, no pop-ups, no sound, nothing.
This is clearly a serious bug in the Calendar App and I'm very surprised that Apple has not released an update to fix it. Also, I couldn't find much information on the Internet about this issue. That's why I'm replying to this thread, to let you and others know that you are not alone. I asked a friend of mine who is running iOS 5 Beta 2 and he said that everything works fine, so I guess we'll have to wait for iOS 5 to fix the issue.
I hope this helps someone out there. If anyone running iOS 4.3.3 or later is having the same problem, please reply here. Most of all, I hope that the guys at Apple read this and do something about it.

  • Calendar Consistency Issues

We've begun seeing some calendar consistency issues on iPad devices. We are using an Exchange 2007 "back end", most of the users are using Outlook in cached mode on their desktop, and many will have another mobile device of one type or another. The consistency issues are appointments appearing in Outlook or being accepted in Outlook and not showing up on the iPad device. Every hardware vendor we've spoken with, including Microsoft, and RIM have emphasized the client/device side and implementing "best practives" such as the following:
-minimizing number of instances of mail clients running against mailbox
    -minimizing delegates
-having only 1 person notified of appointment
    -avoiding forwarding appointments
-deleting changed recurring appt's rather than changing them
-not accepting appointments from mobile device
-running Outlook in online as opposed to cached mode where possible
I'm hoping someone out there has found a "silver bullet" that goes beyond the suggestions we've gotten which are listed above. The problem is our high profile users that have the devices don't want to be told it's their behavior that's causing the problem!!!
I appreciate in advance any ideas.

Same thing happening on my iMac.  Can't do much on the computer.

  • Outlook Recurring Calendar Items - cannot open single instance

    Hi,
I have a customer recently migrated from Rackspace email to Office 365. Just this one user has some calendar issues.
She has a ton of recurring calendar items been migrated over.
Initially, connecting Outlook 2013 to O365, read calendar items fine
After a few days (Not sure what trigged this), the user cannot access single item of the recurring event, it gives error "cannot open, this might be temporary. You changed one of the recurrence of this item, and this instance no longer exists..."
for the same item, go to OWA to access, it's fine!
Can't figure out what's the issue. if it's corrupted item, why the server end/OWA is ok? If this is ok, why outlook sync was originally ok?
I think this is outlook issue rather than office 365?
    Thanks for any suggestions!
    John
    John Shen

    Hi John,
Since it works correctly in OWA, there might be some corruption in OST file. We can try recreate the OST file and then test the issue again. To do this, exit Outlook, navigate to the .ost file and then rename it to .old. Then, restart Outlook to sync
a new one from the server. By default, the OST file is stored in the following folder path:
    C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook
Please let me know the result.

  • Intermittent iphone activesync calendar/mail issues

We are experiencing intermittent activesync calendar/email issues that are causing many of our iPhone users to miss meetings and have major trouble scheduling events from the iPhone. The main problem is that most of the time everything works perfectly until suddenly you realize that you missed a meeting or that your email is suddenly out of sync and you have no idea how long it has be like that.
I have found several band aid "solutions" to temporarily resolve the issues:
    http://blog.fosketts.net/2008/07/10/how-to-set-up-iphone-exchange-activesync/
    http://blog.hltechsolutions.com/2008/07/iphone-activesync-calendar_24.html
We are using iPhone Firmware 3.0 and higher on all iPhones on a Exch 2007 server
We need a really solution for this ASAP

I am on version 3.1.2 and am having many problems with ActiveSync. It often says connection to server cannot be established and prompts me for my password multiple times a day. I have checked with other iPhone users in the organization and many do not have problems. I have tried changing my password, deleting the ActiveSync profile and recreating, and restoring the iPhone. I am getting quite frustrated as are my IT peers as they have to unlock my Windows account every few hours. I need help please!
This behavior seems to have started when I upgraded to 3.1.2. Before that I never had any problems.

  • IPhone 5, iCloud calendar reminder issue

When I use the iCloud calendar on my iPhone 5 and make an event with a reminder set to "on time of event", it will sometimes just beep and flash a notice on lock screen for a few seconds and then the notice disappear from lockscreen.
Sometimes though, everything works as it should and the notice is still there on lockscreen till I unlock the screen (or the event is over).
All settings in notice center and mail/calendar is correct.
When I use google calendar it always works!
The problem was there from iOS 6.0 and is still there after update to 6.1
I have been in contact with apple support who couldn't find any help at the moment.
More people seem to have this according to this site: http://forums.imore.com/ios-6/244349-ios-6-calendar-reminder-issues.html

Update: The problem occurs when I have connected my iCloud acount with calendar enabled on my iMac.
It's like the iPhone 5 thinks I have seen the notice on my iMac and therefore removes it from the phone.
This happens even if my iMac is locked/lockscreen.

  • Iphone 4s calendar alert issue

I tend to put 2 alerts on my calendar events, one for 1 day before and the second one for 1 hour before (or some other on the day of event).  I have noticed that when I put in the first alert for 1 day before and then enter the second alert for 1 hour before and click done they have somehow been reversed, the first alert is now 1 hour before and the second alert is 1 day before.  I have to click them again and change them to the proper order, this usually take about 3 tries to get them to stay as I want them.  I can them save the event and all is good.  I was at the Apple store and the staff duplicated this issue so I know I'm not the only one experiencing this nuissance.  Has anyone else come across this?  I do hope the upcoming update will fix it.

    Update since Genius visit:
    1) Apple is working on an update
    2) There is no awareness at Apple of this calendar alert issue as a bug, hence it is not being addressed/worked on
    3) Solutions offered by Genius have not resolved this issue.
Solutions offered by Genius, in order of which to try first:
    1) Delete calendar data from iPhone: Settings>iCloud>Calendars OFF and then restore data from iCloud: Calendars ON
    2) Reset iPhone settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings
    3) Restore to factory settings: Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings, then restore data from iCloud and in-app backups.
    4) Use another calendar app (seriously)
Of course, if the bug is actually part of the iOS software (could it be?) then no amount of erasing and restoring data will fix the issue.  I completed the first two options with no change, and am not willing to do the third option because I am not interested in going through the process of backing up, then restoring all my third-party apps.
My solution: raise awareness of this issue with Apple, so that it can be worked on and fixed.   I have reported it as a bug through Apple's feedback module: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html and I encourage-- no, ask-- you to do the same, if you are experiencing this issue.  I provided a link to this forum topic to show the variety and detail of problems.

  • Calendar meeting invites contain no information since update to 10.3.1.1565

    Hi All
If I receive a calendar meeting invite from Exchange users with Outlook 2010 to my Q10 device, and I open it, there are 3 tabs along the top of the screen, Details, People and Emails, but the rest of the screen has no information its just white, so I cannot see what time the meeting is or where it is etc.
Any ideas, suggestions, assistance greatly appreciated (urgently! 18 users involved)
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

After more troubleshooting with the user he reported the top of the calendar day view had the error "Some accounts failed to respond", he also had Hotmail account running and an AOL email account which he had not finished configuring. I suggested he delete the non corporate accounts and see what happens.
He reported that after deleting just the AOL account and restarting the Q10 the calendar and meeting invites were all ok!!

  • Calendar alert issue

    Hi all,
I've got a minor annoying issue. My wife (iPhone 4 with iOS6) and I (iPhone 5 wiht iOS6) share an apple account. On iCloud, we've got two calendars. The first is called "Calendar" which is there for us to put all of our general home stuff (birthdays, vacations, appts, etc) and is intended for both of us to use. I've got a second calendar called "Dan" which is just for me with a bunch of stuff she doesn't care about.
Here's the issue. In Calendar, she clicked "Calendars" and deselected the "Dan" under "iCloud Calendars". The only other calendar her Calendar app now shows is our default shared calendar. So, anything I put on the "Dan" calendar no longer shows up... yay! HOWEVER, alerts from my "Dan" calendar still appear on her phone. In other words, if I put an event called "test" on JUST my "Dan" calendar with an alert to go off at 1:00, at that time, BOTH of our phones go off and display alerts. The Event still doesn't show up in her calendar though.
SO, my question is, how can she make it so alerts from "Dan" calendar don't show up on her phone? It's annoying for her, and not cool for me if I want to put in an event that she shouldn't know about.
    Thanks,
    Dan P.
