Recurring "invalid url" message on trusted websites

I have an iMac and use Firefox and Safari browsers. This problem happens with both. Everything will be fine then I try to navigate to a website, or within a website, and I get something like this:
Invalid URL
The requested URL "/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MyEbay&gbh=1&CurrentPage=MyeBayAllSelling&ssPageName=STRK:ME :LNLK:MESX", is invalid.
Reference #9.24094a17.1410956231.fe93903
This particular example is from ebay. I am able to log on to ebay and go to my home page there, but when I try to navigate within the "my ebay" drop down menu, I get this message, BUT, only for certain links! Out of 10 links in the drop down menu, only 3 work. The others give me the "invalid url" message.
This issue has been ongoing and I have found many references to it over several years if I do a web search, but nobody has offered a solution that solves the problem. I have tried clearing cache, etc. but no luck. The only thing I have found that does the trick is to do a complete shut down and restart of my Mac. I don't want to have to do this all the time. Please help!

You are welcome.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • Occasionally I get an "Invalid URL" message when I visit frequently used websites.

    When I visit some of my frequently visited websites, I sometimes get an "Invalid URL" error page. Then, about 15-20 minutes later, the website works fine. I tried going to Google Chrome and it works just fine. This is only happening in Firefox.

    Hello,
    Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
    Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
    To clear cache and cookies do the following:
    #Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
    #Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
    #Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
    #From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
    #Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
    Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.
    Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.

  • Invalide URL message w/multiple sites

    I am having difficulty logging into, staying logged into, or even entering multiple sites. It started with just facebook, but now I get the "URL Invalid" message or "Access Denied" on many sites (diapers.com, google maps, even apple sites, too name a few). Sometimes when I am logged into a site and click on a link, a box will pop up that says safari cannot verify the security certificate or invalid security certificate of whatever website I am logged into, and I am no longer able to use the site. It is driving me crazy! I have read some other threads with this discussion, but most instances of this seem to be isolated to facebook - not mine. I have reset Safari numerous times and emptied the cache. Also, my OS is up-to-date. Is this some kind of virus or bug?

    I can type in www.google and go directly to the google page and then gain access to my pages, just not through the firefox address bar.

  • Invalid URL

    I will try and go to websites like facebook, tumblr, and google and will get an invalid url message. I clear my cache and that typically works but it will start doing it again later. I'm using chrome. It will also do this on my iPad. It doesn't do this when I am at school and using their internet, only when I am at home. Is it my internet connection? I usually have to clear my cache about 5-6 times a day.

    From the menu bar, select
     ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Network ▹ Advanced ▹ TCP/IP
    What is the IP address of the router? It's one or the other of the two addresses you posted above.

  • Invalid URL's

    I have a new MacBook and I am having a lot of problems with getting Invalid URL's. I have tried to solve it but it is getting worse. I did call support and they tried to help but it still is doing it. I have to keep refreshing and it is getting very annoying. Is there anything you can do to help me?
    I have ran updater so everything is up to date. Please help.

    I've had the same problem and it is infuriating. I've emptied caches, reset everything, downloaded updates, and even tried using different web-browsers... nothing works.
    I have two other Mac computers in my house and websites work on the other two just fine while I will continue to get the invalid url message on my macbook pro. It is truely frustrating. I've looked everywhere for help. Please pass on a solution if you find one. thanks and good luck! I'll be sure to do the same

  • Invalid URL Warning

    I get this error daily on my iPhone when accessing Facebook pages. After awhile, every page on Facebook whether entered directly or from a bookmark gives the invalid URL message.
    This is NI DOUBT an Apple bug. Somehow the sites ate trying to get you redirected from regular to mobile versions if the site and Safari gets "crossed."
    I clear my history, cache and cookies, close all safari windows and relogin.

    Hi and welcome to Apple Discussions...
    From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Preferences then select the Security tab.
    Click: Show Cookies. Delete all Twitter and Facebook cookies. Relaunch Safari.
    If you still have problems accessing either site, open Keychain Access (Applications/Utilities) Select Passwords on the left. Delete the Twitter and Facebook keychains. Relaunch Safari and try logging into one of those sites. If you still have problems, delete the, "Safari Forms Autofill" keychain. Relaunch Safari.
    I get redirected to sites like MySpace.
    Many Safari users (including myself) benefit from using Open DNS Free / Basic to avoid redirects.

  • MYSQL Invalid URL

    Is it possible that Jdev 10.1.3 Preview does not support MySQL to auto create tables and cmp fields?
    I am able to connect and deploy ejb's using MySQL with JDEV 10g but not JDev 10.1.3 Preview. I am using mysql-connector-java-3.1.10-bin.jar. I placed it in j2ee/home/applib
    I have tried every possible combination I have read in these forums and still cannot get it to work. In the Preview IDE, I successfully connect to the database and browse it, but when I deploy an ejb to the embedded oc4j or standalone, I get the error:
    WARNING: Warning: Exception occurred getting database schema. Exception: oracle.oc4j.rmi.OracleRemoteException: SQL Error opening DataSource: Io exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection; nested exception is: java.sql.SQLException: Io exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection; nested exception is:

         java.sql.SQLException: Invalid Oracle URL specified
    etc......
    This is what is currently shown in my IDEConnections.xml. Keep in mind that I have tried every url combination I can think of, with port/without port, computer name vs. localhost, params/no params etc...
    <connection>
    <URL>jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/test?&ultraDevHack=true&capitalizeTypeNames=true&pedantic=true</URL>
    <ConnectionName>MySQL</ConnectionName>
    <user>root</user>
    <ConnectionType>OTHER_JDBC</ConnectionType>
    <password>xxxx</password>
    <DeployPassword>true</DeployPassword>
    <JdbcDriver>com.mysql.jdbc.Driver</JdbcDriver>
    </connection>
    Currently there is nothing in my data-sources.xml which appears to use a different schema than the current 10g production version. I wasn't sure how to set it up or whether to update j2ee/home/config/data-sources.xml or system\oracle.j2ee.10.1.3.3.51\oc4j-config\data-sources.xml or both. I briefly tried to update the j2ee/home/config version as I read in:
    Re: error test datasource for mysql
    but it made no difference. This is what I had:
    <connection-pool name="MySql Connection Pool">
    <connection-factory factory-class="com.mysql.jdbc.jdbc2.optional.MysqlConnectionPoolDataSource"
    user="root"
    password="xxxx"
    url="jdbc:mysql://localhost/test">
    </connection-factory>
    </connection-pool>
    <managed-data-source name="MysqlConnectionPoolDataSource"
    connection-pool-name="MySql Connection Pool"
    jndi-name="jdbc/MySqlPooledDS"/>
    The documentation at MySQL shows that data-sources.xml should be coded as the following which does not seem to match the current schema being used of <connection-pool> etc.. I tried it anyways to no avail.
    To use connection pooling with OrionServer, put mysql-connector-java-[version]-bin.jar in $ORION_HOME/lib and add the following to data-sources.xml:
    <data-source
    name="MySqlDS"
    location="jdbc/MySqlPooledDS" class="com.mysql.jdbc.jdbc2.optional.MysqlConnectionPoolDataSource"
    max-connections="100"
    min-connections="5"
    inactivity-timeout="200"
    wait-timeout="10"
    username="USERNAME"
    password="PASSWORD"
    url="jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/test?useUnicode=true&characterEncoding=Cp1251"/>
    I'd appreciate any advice I can get. Thanks.

    Deepak,
    Thank you for your quick response. I have tried this url previously and tried it once again once I got your reply without any success. Below is my system\oracle.j2ee.10.1.3.3.51\IDEConnections.xml.
    I am able to successfully test the connection in the connections window but still get the INVALID URL message when I run my ejb in the embedded oc4j. Should there be anything set up in my data-sources.xml file? I currently have nothing in there but when I earlier tried out a few variations, I would get the message: jdbc/MySQLDS already in use. It seems to conflict with the IDEConnections settings. I have gone into the embedded oc4j server preferences and deleted and refreshed the data sources after each modification I tried. I also restarted jdev after each modification.
    IDEConnections.xml
    <connection>
    <URL>jdbc:mysql://localhost/test</URL>
    <ConnectionName>MySQL</ConnectionName>
    <user>root</user>
    <ConnectionType>OTHER_JDBC</ConnectionType>
    <password>xxxx</password>
    <DeployPassword>true</DeployPassword>
    <JdbcDriver>com.mysql.jdbc.Driver</JdbcDriver>
    </connection>
    Thanks.

  • Invalid URL in OnError using WSA

    Hi,
    I am trying to send an error reply from a web service that has been invoked asynchronous (initiate method has been called).
    The web service is called from SOAP UI using WS-Addressing. The soap header sent by SOAP UI looks like this:
    <soapenv:Header xmlns:wsa="http://www.w3.org/2005/08/addressing">
         <wsa:Action>initiate</wsa:Action>
         <wsa:ReplyTo>
              <wsa:Address>http://localhost:8888/mock/SoapUIStub-OnResult</wsa:Address>
         </wsa:ReplyTo>
         <wsa:FaultTo>
              <wsa:Address>http://localhost:8888/mock/SoapUIStub-OnError</wsa:Address>
         </wsa:FaultTo>
         <wsa:MessageID>uuid:592bad77-bda0-4ea8-8b5d-556b69e85fe4</wsa:MessageID>
         <wsa:To>http://localhost:7001/soa-infra/services/default/ASync-WebService</wsa:To>
    </soapenv:Header>
    The error is sent using the following invoke statement:
    <invoke name="callbackOutput" partnerLink="async_client" portType="client:WebService_asyncCallback"
         operation="onError"
         inputVariable="IntegrationException"
         bpelx:invokeAsDetail="no"/>
    The wsdl (snipped) looks like this:
    <portType name="WebService_asyncCallback">
         <operation name="onResult">
              <input message="client:WebServiceResponseMessage"/>
         </operation>
         <operation name="onError">
              <input message="ie:IntegrationExceptionMessage"/>
         </operation>
    </portType>
    I receive the error message in SOAP UI on the URL http://localhost:8888/mock/SoapUIStub-OnResult.
    I expect the error on http://localhost:8888/mock/SoapUIStub-OnError.
    Is this a bug or am I missing something?
    Regards, Emiel

    Eric thank you, thank you, thank you. It worked perfectly!
    I wanted to take some time to see if it was going to last and sure enough it has. It has been about 2 weeks and no invalid URL messages anymore. I can jump from site to site without errors. I do social media for a living and you wouldn't believe how much it slowed me down before. I would have to save everything I was doing and restart my computer at least 4 or 5 times a day.
    You need to post this on YouTube.
    Dewerd I am sure you will fine that everything is perfect with your computer now too. Eric you are the best!
