Hi,
How did you open the .ics file in Outlook?
What error message did you get when you try to open the .ics file?
We can try File > Open > Open Calendar...
Or we can try to import the .ics file into your calendar, see:

Sending a meeting invite from Exchange 2007 account located in Central Time from Outlook 2010 Email Client located in Eastern Time cause meeting to show up 1 hour early on iPhone.

The meeting invite is being sent from a Computer through the Outlook 2010 Email Client. Both Computer and Outlook 2010 are set to Eastern Time. The OWA (Outlook Web Access) for the 2007 account is set to Eastern Time. The Outlook 2010 Email Client is connected to an Exchange 2007 account and the Exchange server for the exchange 2007 account is located in Chicago (Central Time) and is set to Central Time. When the meeting invite is sent from the Outlook 2010 Client the recipient receives the invite on his/her iPhone(set and located in the Eastern Time Zone) and a mime-attachment.ics file is attached to the meeting invite email. There is no info displayed in the subject line or message body. If the iPhone user opens the attachment it displays the meeting date and time and any other info that was sent from Outlook. The Outlook 2010 user sets the meeting for 10:00am to 11:00am. when the meeting invite mime-attachment.ics file is opened on the iPhone the meeting is displayed as 9:00am to 10:00am. if the iPhone user adds the ics file to his/her calendar it adds a meeting event that is scheduled 1 hour earlier than it is supposed to be. I had the iPhone user to set Time Zone support on and off and there is no change.

  • Calendar meeting invites contain no information since update to 10.3.1.1565

    Hi All
If I receive a calendar meeting invite from Exchange users with Outlook 2010 to my Q10 device, and I open it, there are 3 tabs along the top of the screen, Details, People and Emails, but the rest of the screen has no information its just white, so I cannot see what time the meeting is or where it is etc.
Any ideas, suggestions, assistance greatly appreciated (urgently! 18 users involved)
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

After more troubleshooting with the user he reported the top of the calendar day view had the error "Some accounts failed to respond", he also had Hotmail account running and an AOL email account which he had not finished configuring. I suggested he delete the non corporate accounts and see what happens.
He reported that after deleting just the AOL account and restarting the Q10 the calendar and meeting invites were all ok!!

  • Meeting invites

I receive a meeting invite and accepts it on outlook, it still shows as unaccepted on the iPhone, it doesn't go away still.

I agree that this is a fatal omission by Apple in setting up ActiveSync on the iPhone. I have to make a list of any appointments I put on my iPhone during the day so that I can add invitees when I get near a desktop computer at night. It's a royal pain.

  • My Iphone 4s can't open outlook meeting invitations

My Iphone 4s can't open Outlook meeting invitations or Outlook Business Contact Cards. How can I change this or do i need to download an app to support this?  Please Help!!

My first thought is that this sounds like a memory issue...you may have already treid it, but as a first step, I'd do a double tap on the home button and check ( and stop if necessary) all of the running processes......

  • Calendar Meeting Invite from Outlook 2010 to iCal

    Hello,
I am very VERY new to Macs and to be honest Calendar invites in general (Came from a Lotus Domino environment). I have come across an oddity that I am almost sure is related to the content of the .ICS file generated by Outlook and then sent to a mail user who uses an Apple Max OS X 10.7.3. (our Managing Director). It has resulted in me (IT for the company) buying an Apple Mac to try and troubleshoot. Sorrry for the Blurb
    Working Scenario is
    1. Use a Google email account and the Web interface to send a meeting invite to another Google homed account and that person uses a Mac as described.
    2. Invite arrives and is automatically available in iCal with a tentative meeting (grey) event PLUS the notification panel in iCal showing an alert.
    3. The notification Panel alert can then be used to Accept/decline the invite.
For the MD this is how he wants to work. As he gets numerous invites he can quickly scan down the notification alerts and access/decline as he goes. Rather than opening all of the email messages.
    Failing Scenario is
    1. Use an Outlook 2010 client to send the exact same invite to the same person at the same time (etc.)
    2. Invite arrives in the Mac mail Box. BUT DOES NOT trigger iCal's notification panel
    3. The Mac User needs to click on the attached .ICS file and if iCal is also visible you can see the notification alert appear
I have TextEdited both .ICS files and yes they are different. The general VCALENDAR elements are roughly the same but there differences with bits and pieces that a too numerous to mention. There is also all of the garbage with X- elements which I would think iCal will ignore anyway. I have tried hacking the failing .ICS when it arrives but that doesn't mimic the same type of flow and in the end I can't modify the .ICS files either as they are sent or arrive.
Yes, I have told the Outlook client to send using the iCalendar format for external recipients.
I was wondering if anyone had come across the same type of requirement or the same type of issue?
    thanks in advance
    Bruce.

I had the identical problem.  I still don't know how to sync the tasks, but here's how I did the contacts and calendar:
    1.  Connect the 4s to the computer.
    2.  Open iTunes.
    3.  Click the iPhone box in the upper right corner.
    4.  Click on the info tab.
    5.  Hit the checkbox Sync Contacts with... and choose Outlook from the dropdown box.
    6.  Ditto for Calendars.
    7.  Hit Apply.
My problem was that originally, I wasn't getting the checkboxes.  I turned off the iCloud settings on the 4s.  That did the trick.

  • Recurring meeting in Outlook sending updates automatically to all recipients

We use Outlook 2007 with Exchange 2003 SP2 cached mode.  We have a project team that schedules meetings for working groups that include some people in our organization and several from other companies.  With only one user we have an odd recurring meeting problem.  When our employee creates a meeting, makes it recurring with an end date, adds recipients and sends the meeting out, the recipients receive it and reply.  All is well.
However, at random times, even when Outlook isnt connected to the system, Exchange sends a duplicate meeting invite to all recipients again, and they all reply again.  This time, their replies are different.  We receive a reply for each occurance in the series rather than just a single reply for the series.  Some recipients are saying that they received 6 invitations from us instead of one, and had to accept each one.  This happens about three times per meeting.  Another thing we noticed is that the End Date on the series is changing.  We wondered why updates were being sent out if nothing had changed and realized that the End Date for the series was incrementing by one day.  For example, the series was supposed to end on Nov. 21st when our employee sent out the message.  The End Date changed to Nov. 22nd and Exchange sent an update to all (This was on a Saturday that this happened.)  There were more updates sent by Exchange over the next few days and each update had added another day to the End Date.
Any ideas why the system would send updates to meetings on its own and change the end date? James Nelson

We are experiencing the same problem.  Four times in the last six months or so we've had iPhone users send out Calendar items that end up resending over and over and over.  This is on Exchange 2003.  The calendar items were each created in Outlook 2007 and involved multiple invitees.  Some of these items were reoccurring events, others were not.
What we have found is that when the owner/creator of the calendar item deletes the acceptance emails from the invitees, that is when another calendar item is sent out again.  This also happens if the acceptance email is moved to a subfolder.  In other words:
Jane creates a calendar invite and includes Bill and Bob.
Bill and Bob each accept the invite and an acceptance/confirmation email is sent to Jane.
When Jane deletes Bill's acceptance email another calendar invite is sent to both Bill and Bob.
When Jane moves Bob's acceptance email to a subfolder...another calendar invite is sent to both Bill and Bob.
The only way I have found to stop the invite for re-sending is to delete the original invite and start over, or for the sender to not delete or move the acceptance emails.
I have not figured out what causes this problem.

  • Outlook 2010 Recurring meeting and notifications

I am trying to get a better explanation on how Outlook 2010 works with recurring meetings.
We have seen some crazy behavior and it may be by design.
If a user schedules a recurring meeting and invites 10 people to the meeting. They all get on invite sent from the users account. You will see one invite sent out.
If the organizer modifies a meeting in the series, everyone in the series will get a notification that the meeting was modified and you will see a separate email sent out to each recipient.
If the organizer continues to modify individual meetings in the series, users will continue to get separate invites and you will see separate invites sent in the organizers sent items.
Now if the organizers goes and modifies the series by changing anything, a separate update will be sent to all recipients for every meeting in the series that was modified and one for the meeting occurrence itself.
    Am I correct?
    Thanks
    Paul.

    Hi,
When the meeting is created, the organizer should be sending one
    invite out, this is correct.
But each update should also be one including all attendees instead of ten to each single one.
You may try sending an update on OWA, will the update be one to all or ten to every single one?
If this issue only happens in Outlook Client, not on OWA, please run Outlook in Safe Mode to determine if it's 3rd-party add-ins related, if some add-ins control this, the updates may not be handled as it should.
We can also create a new profile to setup the account, check if this issue persists:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829918/en-us
I have found this blog, which helps users understand more about meeting updates:

Please feel free to post back.

  • Can't Accept Meeting Invitations from Outlook 2003

I may be beating a dead horse here, but I just got the new iPhone 3GS, former Blackberry user. We do not use Outlook Exchange Server, but we do use just the stand alone Outlook 2003 application for calendars. I used to be able to open and respond to meeting invitations on my Blackberry, but have found that I can't open the meeting invitation on the new iPhone. From what I have read so far, it seems that this may not be currently supported by the iPhone. Can someone confirm this for me? If this is true, is there some work around by switching to using Google Calendar or Mobileme or something for Calendars??

I'm a former Palm Treo user for years, syncing with Palm desktop on my PC, and have several thousand appointments with notes on my Palm, as well as over 1000 contacts. I just switched to the i-phone 3GS, moved all my data from the palm over to Outlook 2003, synced after much heartache and difficulty, then moved all this data to the i-phone via i-tunes. As a first time user, the usefulness of the built-in calendar app. is weak, and when you have multiple overlapping appointments, it's very difficult to see these appointments in an easy visual field. In addition, there's no way to search for any content within the appointments other than by the particular day. Nor can you see the year view on the calendar.
Does any former Palm of Blackberry business user have another Calendar application suggestion for the 3GS or 3G that will sync with Outlook 2003, or better yet with Mobile Me? If you move to a different app for calendar, syncing with multiple machines or Mobile me is a problem, from what Apple tech support tells me.
    Thanks.

  • Outlook 2010 hangs when selecting a meeting invite

Sometimes when the users click on a meeting invite from a user from a different company (Full Trust between domains)Outlook shows the
"Searching for this meeting..." message and hangs. According to Microsoft this is just checking the conflicting appointments and this message should disappear after few seconds but it does not. The only way to recover outlook is to
end the outlook.exe task from the task manager. I have tried creating new outlook profile, new ost file or even a different computer but the issue remains. Can't find any solution on the net. Any help will be appreciated.
The email account is configured to use an Exchange server... and the computer is connected to a domain. The email is coming from a company which has full trust with our company's domain.

    Hi,
Does this issue occur on OWA?
If not, I would suggest we use the process monitor to see where does Outlook hung when opening the meeting request.

  • Recurring meeting in Outlook 2011 calendar but NOT on Exchange server (OWA) or iPhone

Macbook Pro w/Outlook 2011.  User has one (of many) recurring meetings he accepted (a weekly meeting) and it shows fine in his Outlook calendar
    (setup for Exchange).
This one recurring meeting does NOT show up on the users' iPhone or in OWA (meaning it is not on the Exchange server).
How can I get this one recurring meeting to sync (or at least get moved) to his calendar on the Exchange server so it can sync to his iPhone?
Asking the person who originated the meeting to re-invite is not an option.
    Thank you.

Are there any sync issues logged on the client?  You may want to turn on logging (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj984217(v=office.14).aspx) and see of there
are any communication issues.  If you believe this to be a corruption in the Outlook 2011 DB, you may have to rebuild it (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2360509/en-us).
Anyways, I would have them look for the original meeting request in their mailbox via OWA.  It might have been accepted and moved to deleted items, but the original meeting request should be there unless it was too long ago. If it is found, accept it
in OWA (no reply).  Then look for sync-issues to the Mac client.
If you cannot do the above, check out
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2547327/en-us and see if that process changes your behavior.
    Hopefully that helps!

  • Outlook recurring meeting requests

    Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement to send recurring meeting request which will be spanning between a start date and end date at a specific time. Are there any inputs in this regard? Ideally require it not to have a response as mandatory, but just to block the timings on the Outlook calendar. Any inputs? Much appreciate.
I am looking at a purely PL/SQL solution. I have seen the below link. But this needs to be enhanced to make it a recurring request..
Any interest in sending emails as Outlook appt. request???
    Thanks,

    Hello,
I am trying to send recurring outlook meeting requests from pl/sql. A way to send normal outlook meeting requests from pl/sql is explained in below link.
Any interest in sending emails as Outlook appt. request???
But my requirement is to send RECURRING meeting requests. I was checking if there is a way to do this by modifying the code in the above link.

  • Outlook meeting invites received as ICS txt file in Yahoo mail

My boss is sending Outlook 2010 meeting invites to external users at Gmail, Yahoo, & hotmail.   Gmail accept the meeting invite, but yahoo and hotmail get that as text (.ICS) files.
He is convinced this is an issue with our Exchange server and/or Outlook.  Should he expect that Outlook meeting invites will be received correctly in other mail platforms or is there something I need to enable/install on either his Outlook or
the Exchange 2010 server to enable this?
    Thank you,
    Greg H.

    Hi,
To determine if it's an issue on Outlook or Exchange, you can send a meeting request from OWA, check if this issue persists.
In Outlook, please go to File tab -> Options -> Calendar -> Calendar Options -> Have you checked "When sending meeting requests outside of your organization, use the iCalendar format"? Check or Uncheck it and click OK to test if this
    is involved.

  • Outlook 2010/iCloud meeting invites

I have iCloud CP installed on Windows 7 with outlook 2010. When someone sends a meeting invite, it does not show up in the inbox. The meeting shows in the calendar but not in the inbox. This only happens on windows machines with iCloud installed.

We figured this one out. It was because he was using his work email as his Apple ID. We switched which email address was linked to his iCloud account and it started working.
