Recurring problem in Project Saving

Question

This has happened often.
I am working on a project that should initially take up between 0.5 to 1 Meg on my hard drive, yet once saved, I noticed it has tied up 65 Megs...
I have no Locked tracks
Most of my Real Instruments are loops (already on My HD)
Most of my instruments are Soft Synths (hard on the processor not the Drive)
I have transcribed some of my Software Instrument loops into Real Instruments (to save on the processor), but that should not account for that much extra Disc Space.
Sometimes, when I catch the problem initially, I can re-record the track and rectify the problem.
As an experiment, I have erased ALL tracks on the project in question, but kept the instrument with no notes to be played, yet, the saved data remained HI (like 45 Megs).
Any input at this point would be tremendously appreciated.

65 megs is not extraordinarily huge for a GB project. Keep in mind that
• one minute of real instrument takes about 10 megs - per track!
• GB's editing is non-destructive, so even if you end up using only a second of some audio recording in your project, the whole recording is kept. It's only deleted if you don't use it at all and hit "save".
The megabytes probably sit in the Media folder in your GB project package. Select the project in the Finder, ctrl-click, select "Show Package Content" and navigate to that folder to check if there are recordings that you are sure they aren't used in your song.
Disclaimer: Manipulating the package is at your own risk and might result in losing the whole song. So you better work on a copy.
