Recyclebin don't function with User Sys 10g

Hi all,
I have a doubt.
With the user SYS I create a table test with two columns. Then I have dropped it to see in the recyclebin if it's there.
I used the show recyclebin command and not show me any table.
I ask you: The recyclebin feature is disable to user SYS ? How I do to function ?

You can verify whether the recycle bin is working by flashing your table back. If it comes back, the recycle bin is working:
flashback tablename to before drop;
The recycle bin can be turned off, as in this manual fragment:
If you use a parameter file (PFILE) with your database, you can specify the value of RECYCLEBIN in the parameter file, as in this example:
# turn off recycle bin
RECYCLEBIN=OFF
You should see this value set in your parameter file if the recycle bin has been turned off.

Problem accessing SQL Developer with user sys

Hi Experts;
I'm working with Oracle 10G, in Solaris 10, The DB apparently is working properly, but I can not access the DB thru SQL Developer. When I try to acccess with user sys, and I enter de password, in oracle role I select sysdba, when I choose connect I get this error message:
ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
However, I can connect with other user without any problem.
I was connecting directly in the server, with sqlplus /as sysdba and I changed the password for user sys, but still the problem continues.
What is wrong with this. I got the same problem if try to connect thru OEM.

Thank you for answer.
First, I'm completely sure I'm using the correct password, to be sure I changed the password thru sqlplus.
I'm using tns connection, btw, with the same connection, I can connect, but with other user.
I was trying again, however, with the same results previous explained.
But also I have the same problen when I tried to connect to OEM, and I was trying to stop the dbconsole, and found this:

Apparently, there is problem with the tnsnames. When I see the tnsnames in SQL DEVELOPER I see this: YAWIDBLA
So, here is the tnsname, in order you have a better idea, what I have.

Problem when making new connection with user "sys"

Hi, I'm having trouble on making new connection with user sys against local 10g installation, the password is correct and I've tried making new connection with other
users which is fine.
when I click "test" or "connect", the error msg is strange like this:
"ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied"

Have you used the "Role" drop-down to "SYSDBA"? - if not, you get the ORA-01017 error.

INS0009: Unable to connect to the database with user SYS

Hi all,
I'm trying to create an OWB repository with OWB repository assistant (10.2.0.2.) on a 10.2.0.1. database (windows XP platform). I get the following error every time I fill in the connect info for the SYS user:
INS0009: Unable to connect to the database with user SYS. java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
I can connect to the database (sqlplus sys/<password>@orcl as sysdba) and the OS user is in the ora_dba group. Also checked the database parameters remote_login_passwordfile (= EXCLUSIVE) and O7_DICTIONARY_ACCESSIBILITY=TRUE.
Does anyone know what the problem is? Any help is appreciated.

Ok I found the problem myself, I used the wrong sys password :-(. I thought the password I used to logon in sqlplus was right (sqlplus sys/<password>@orcl as sysdba) but the password doesn't matter when you logon as sysdba! So I altered the password for the user sys and now I can continue the steps of the repository assistant.

Problems with user SYS and SYSTEM

Hi,
I installed 9i on the Linux Suse 7.2, it's runing OK. But when I try to connect with user SYSTEM or SYS as SYSDBA/SYSOPER I receive message "ORA-01031: Insufficient Privileges".
Please, what do I get this privileges SYSDBA AND SYSOPER?
Anyone have any ideas?

Check the to see if the user is a member of the dba group.
The O/S user you are using needs to be a member of the dba group in /etc/group.

TextArea Validation Widget don't function with Prototype

I have seen that TextAreaValidationWidget don't function
properly if is loaded also the Prototype library. To verify, I have

The condition for action don't work with user status

we have some problem with define conditions for actions of SLA Monitoring:
Schedule condition with system status (Example:"&CRM Service Product Item.System Status& = I1002") is implemented.
But schedule condition with user status ("&CRM Service Product Item.User Status& = E0005ZLFC0001") is not implemented i.e. the action for message with user status = "E0005ZLFC0001" is not executed.
Please help us.

GoNav function with dynamic columns 10g

I have a report with a dashboard prompt that dynamic change the report column. The result of this prompt is set into a presentation variable @{dimension}.
Now I want to use the GoNav function on the column that dynamically changes.
The data format for this column should be:
@[html]"<font class="Nav" onclick=\"javaScript:GoNav(event, '/users/Administrator/Test', 'Department', 'Department_name' ,'"@"','_self');\">"@"".
But this syntax only works for the column Department.Department_name. If the prompt on the dashboard is changed to another column the navigate link doesn't work anymore.
Is there a solution to make this work so that also the column can be set dynamically for the navigation?

As per your comments above you are using Column selector kind of functionality using a Dashboard prompt and in your GO nav you are taking column Department that's way it is working for that column only , if you change the Column in Dashboard prompt also still GO nav point to Department column only...make the GO NAV to take dynamic columns..
I am not sure whether we can pass presentation variable .....with my knowledge its not..use GO URL instead of GO NAV

Why is user SYS assigned to OTHER_GROUP?

I am using 10.2 database running on Linux. I want to set up some resource plan, but I have problem with user sys. I've created a plan, groups and directives. The doc says that initial consumer group for SYS and SYSTEM is SYS_GROUP, but in my database it's OTHER_GROUPS. Why?
This are the instructions I used. Maybe I should assign a directive to SYS_GROUP too?

WHERE se.current_consumer_group_id = co.id
AND se.sid=s.sid
I see that all of the users are assigned to OTHER GROUP.

I've worked with it more and the problem seems not to be solved in a way it should.
Actually it's been working, and what I've done:
1. added a directive to SYS_GROUP in OLTP_DSS plan.
exec dbms_resource_manager.create_plan_directive(plan=>'OLTP_DSS',group_or_subplan => 'SYS_GROUP', comment=> 'SYS_GROUP directive', CPU_P1=>20);
now SYS and SYSTEM are mapped in SYS_GROUP
2. I gave to all the users (DSS* and OLTP*) the switch privilege to their initial group:
exec dbms_resource_manager_privs.grant_switch_consumer_group('DSS1','DSS_USR',FALSE);
Now DSS users are in DSS_USR group after logging in, without it they are all mapped to OTHER_GROUP..
I'll leave this question unanswered. Maybe someone will have other clues.

Can no longer logon to EM DBA-Studio 8.1.7. with user SYSTEM

my 8.1.7 Enterprise Edition Database shows some "strange bahavior". I can no longer logon to Enterprise Manager Console with user system. (Message: This Application needs more privileges...) But the user system still has the same system privileges as before when it worked fine. So what could have gone wrong?
The logon with user sys as sysdba still works.
I can still logon with any user in SQL Worksheet and SQL Plus for instance.
I have checked for any data loss......but all data still seems to be available. I checked for it with desc and select commands.
BUT.....I can no longer post a "select * from cat"
(Message: Table or view does not exist !)
The database is in archivelog mode in case a recovery is necessary.
Before the "crash" a normal user schema dump was exported without any problem. But that shouldn't have triggered off the problem!?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

PS: My user SYSTEM already has the DBA and the SELECT_CATALOG_ROLE but still is no longer able to logon in DBA-Studio!
I assume it is a more serious problem since none of my users can still perform a "select * from cat" which should always be possible!

Stopping the jrew process is what i do anyway, but that doesn't seem to be e very elegant way of working with DBA Studio. What is the reason for this behavior?

Nth_value() function with IGNORE NULLS in oracle 10g

Is there any easy way to mimic ORACLE 11g nth_value() function with IGNORE NULLS clause in 10g or earlier Oracle release?

Can't use voice/video functionality with external domain connected users through federation

Hope you keeping well..!!
We are communicating with external customers lync server through federation option setup on our corporate lync server. We have received the federation setting from the customer with SIP address which has been setup on our corporate lync servers after
that we were able to browse the customer contact through corporate lync account.
We were also able to chat with external customer but however voice/video functionality are not working through same session. Whenever we try to dial out external customer lync account it ended with error message "call ended due to network issue".
We have checked the setting from corporate lync servers and network point of view but doesn't find any issue which cause the disconnection to voice/video over lync. Could you pl help or guide with the way to resolve the issue.

Audio/Video works fine within corporate when dial any lync contact. We only have issue while trying to use the same functionality with any other
external lync contact configured over federation option.<o:p></o:p>
We already checked the security rules and all required ports are open, as confirmed by local resolver group.<o:p></o:p>
We have checked with external parties and according to them their systems are hosted by Microsoft as part of office 365 suite and they already have
federation option for 17 different customers which works fine. Which means issue must be your local end.<o:p></o:p>
Is there any tool available to identify the issue from client end?<o:p></o:p>
Also I have a question here....In my corporate environment...client is sitting in India and lync servers are hosted in UK and users connect to it
over MPLS route. In Client lync configuration we have internal/external servers configured .....so when i tried to make a voice call with external lync users then I see from netstat -a command that traffic hitting to multiple public IP addresses
directly from my machine..<o:p></o:p>
Does it mean that client required internet connectivity with specific open media ports to connect with external parties for video/voice? or in ideal
case all request should handle by corporate internal server which should took UK internet path to connect with external lync contact?
