Red badge counter on mail

I had to do a hard reset today because I could not send or receive email on my iPad & I couldn't connect to the internet.  I kept getting messages "couldn't connect to server".  I can now send & receive email & get on the internet but the red badge dot on Mail that shows number of unread emails has disappeared as well as the sound that I used to get when new mail came in.  This is happening only on my iPad.  I still get the red badge showing unread emails on my laptop.   Any suggestions to repair this?  Thanks

Ok, so even when you open the mail & new mail comes in, you don't hear the sound & don't then get the badge app icon showing for unread mail (assuming you haven't opened it on another device)?
Have you tried signing out then back into iCloud?  Also try setting the individual mail account to Fetch (again, you choose the internal) though that puts more of a drain on the battery.
Sorry, I'm a bit stumped

  • Mail-Red Badge in Dock won't go away...

    Hi all,
Small problem, yet annoying. Suddenly the red badge that is on the Mail icon in the dock persistently tells me I have one email, although I don't have any.
Don't waste your time asking if I am sure that I have checked all mailboxes... there is not a single unread email, yet that red 1 keeps taunting me.
I have already rebuilt each of my mailboxes, restarted the app, etc.... I have not tossed the prefs as of yet because I don't imagine this information would be stored there.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

make a smart mailbox with a single condition to show unread messages in any mailbox. see if it finds anything. also, in Mail preferences->general set "Dock unread count" to "inbox only".
If none of this helps try rebuilding the entire mail index. quit mail and eleted the file /users/username/library/mail/envelope index. start mail and let it import (this means reindex) your messages.

  • Disabling badge count of new mail?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is there a way to disable the new mail badge count for a particular account? I have two set up, and only one I want to see the number of new mail.
    Thanks.

since updating to 2.0.2 on my 3g iphone i've noticed my new mail count is off also...it seems that for every new email i receive with Gmail using IMAP on the iphone, it shows a count of 3...2 new emails shows a number of 6, 3 emails shows 9 etc etc.
anyone else have this prob and maybe have an idea as to how to fix it??

  • How to get red badge on email

I had to do a hard reset on my iPad 2 today because I was unable to send or receive email & could not connect to server to get online.  I am now able to send & receive email but the red notification badge on the mail icon is missing, there is no sound when I do receive emails & the blue dot is missing next to unread emails.  I have the badge icon turned on & the push turned on but the red number badge will not show up, there is no sound when emails come in & no blue dots.  Any suggestions to correct?  Thanks

There are several plugins that have flash frame transitions, like www.nattress.com, and Eureka, and Too Much Too Soon. But for the actual LIGHT LEAK effect? I know of several companies that sell them as keyable elements, like www.artbeats.com (Film Effects), but I haven't found a plugin that makes that.
I googled a bit and found this:
    http://www.dvpa.com/public/department140.cfm
In the AuNatural set, there is light leak.
But I have the Art Beats set myself...alas it is SD only.

  • Update notification (red badge) for iOS 8.0.2 on 4S but none for 8.0 or 8.0.1. Is this normal?

I have a iphone 4S and I use it everyday yet something comes up as being strange. When iOS 8 was released there was no red badge on the settings, it also wasn't there when the blotched 8.0.1 update came up so why is it now coming up for 8.0.2?
What's apple policy on the badge? (2 updates? 1 month from new iOS?) Can someone tell me if this is normal (update notification on the third iOS "version/update (counting 8.0 as 1st)" instead if it being there from the moment a new iOS comes out) and if you've had a similar situation please let me know.

Sorry, but that's just a ridiculous thing to say. The fact that an issue is intermittent or dependent on other variables does not mean its not an issue.  You have provided an opinion with no data and no help.  If you can't contribute to a solution, please abstain from this thread.
If a device on a network can crash a router/WAP, the issue is with that router/WAP is there is no "crash the network" command within the Wi-Fi protocol.
That's why there are networking standards; if properly adhered to they dictate what will occur when commands are received and commensurately, the only things that will happen.
Feel free to fill out the form and peruse the actual specifications of the protocol yourself if you so choose; there's no "crash network" option.

Whether the router is Apple's or another vendor's, it needs to be able to deal with whatever traffic/commands are sent to it.

  • My twitter badge count is stuck on 3

Hi, so my badge count for the twitter app is stuck on 3. I have deleted it, reinstalled it, signed out reinstalled, everything. It doesn't work

Select the Gmail inbox and use the Mailbox ➙ Rebuild menu option.
If that fails close Mail, go to your Home/Library/Mail/V2/MailData folder and delete the 3 files shown in the screenshot below:
    Launch Mail and check again.

  • Red badge error in the dock after rebuilding account database...

    Hi all,
I recently "Rebuilt" my email databases. After successfully rebuilding both accounts, I now have a red badge with the number "205" on my mail icon in the dock.
I have manually checked every mailbox, there is no RSS feed, etc. No new and unaccounted for email. If I get new emails in, the number 205 increases appropriately, but 205 is the minimum number.
    Any thoughts?

  • How to get rid of red badge alert in settings,  I do not want to upgrade to ios 8.0.2

I have a iphone 4s.  I have an annoying red badge alert on my settings to upgrade to 8.0.2.  I do not want the update and I do not have enough space anyway.  How do I get rid of that annoying number 1 alert on my home screen on setting?

You don't.  You can move the Settings icon to an alternate Home screen, if you'd like.  But until you update, the notification will still be there.

  • Incorrect Folder Badge Count

I have a folder on my homescreen with several apps in it. This problem has not come up until just recently, but the notification badge count for the folder is always one less than the number of notifications if I open the folder and count each app's notifications.
I have tried clearing all the notifications, turning notifications off and then on again, restarting my phone, and removing all the apps from the folder and then recreating it. Nothing has worked so far. Has anyone else run into this problem?
I am on an iPhone 4S with iOS 5.0.1. Thanks!

I found the app that was causing the problem and deleting and reinstalling it worked.
In my case the offending app was Ticket to Rode Pocket. To figure this out I took each app out of the folder one by one to see if the folder's badge count was correct without it. Without Ticket to Ride in the folder the badge count was correct, but whenever it was in the folder it was acting as a -1 for the folder.
I deleted the app and reinstalled it, restarting my iPhone after each of those steps just to be safe, and that fixed the problem for now. Hopefully it proves to be a permanent solution.

  • Calendar Red Badge Notifications

Hi all, new iPhone user here.
Could someone please tell why I am not getting red badge notifications on the calendar icon. This is really frustrating!

    Thanks,
I don't/can't have MS exchange as the set up for outlook emails as they are via BT and in pop format 9correct me me if wrong) I only meant it was a bit of a pain as I would have thought the red badge should appear for any entry put in the calendar inrespective of the service it goes though. After all does the notification come from the info stored on the phone?
As for third party apps, I was hopeing that things like RSS and twitter items would show which they don't seem to (I am using Fee RSS and Twitbit) I don't have to many subscriptions through these so red blindness would not be a problem but it would be nivce to know when stuff come in without checking periodically.
Perhaps I am doing this all wrong do you have any hints or suggestions.
    Many thanks
    Andrew

  • Red badge on settings icon for iPhone 5

Got the iPhone 5 delivered today and after setting everything up, I noticed the settings icon had a red badge. The red badge usually indicates there's a new iOS update available? But being that my new iPhone is already updated to iOS 6.0.2 is there any way to remove the icon?

Now, you have to restore as new without the backup using computer iTunes.
After that, sync your iTunes' content manually.

  • Red badge on setting icon

After iOS 6 update the red badge on settings icon doesn't disappear, how can i fix it?
Have i to wait the next update?

Try resetting your iPhone.  Hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears.

  • Reminder badge count is incorrect

My Reminder badge count shows that I have 4 tasks outstanding - when I have none. This is true for the machine I just upgraded to Yosemite and the one that is also running Mavericks. My iOS devices are fine.
When I go into Reminders and click on the "Task" tab on the left I can see the four tasks (from 2012) - I can mark them as completed - and it ignores the action. I can delete them and it ignores the action. I can change the due date and it ignores the action. The one thing that is different than current tasks is that rather than associated with iCloud tasks it references calendar tasks.
Is there anyway to clear these out?
    Thanks

I've been having this same issue for a while on my iPad2. After scanning this post, I decided to start removing items from the misbehaving folder. No change, until I got to Camera Prime (iPhone app). This app does not have any control panel settings for badges, but does have an internal option (by the way, the folder showed the badge number -3). Upon removing the offending app (Camera Prime), the count immediately corrected.
Attempt 1) I opened the app, turned off the badge count (no badge showing on the app by the way), and then put the app back into that folder. Count on the folder dropped by ONE only.
Attempt 2) Deleted the app, reinstalled from the cloud, put it back in the folder. Count drops by ONE. Tried deleting through the control panel (deletes data as well), then reinstalled. No change.
Test1 - Moved the app to a different folder (with a badge count), count reduced by ONE.
Test2 - Moved the app to a different folder with NO badge count. No change.
So I've reduced the effect of the count, but this app (Camera Prime) seems to have a defect that is (perhaps) a default count of -1.
Have not tried resetting the iPad since going through this. Maybe later.
    Good luck.

  • Problem with red badge in safari

Hi to all i have a problem with safari icon bacause always show a red badge on it with number 3 in red how can i resolve?thanks for help

first I want o say that I love my iphone, best phone/smartphone ever, but the problem with the safari it's annoying, for me having
more than 1 page open at the same time it's usseles, because every time you switch from one page to another you have to wait until it loads again, I think this is a bug that it has to be fix in the future with a software update. Because what it's the point of having the option to open more than one website at the same time if you can't use them at the same time because every time you switch to a new page you have to wait until it reloads again and if you are using EDGE(I use it most of the time) it takes a lot of time.
Yesterday for example I was checking a UPS tracking number on a webpage and when I opened a new webpage to go to ups.com to track the package, the page with the tracking number went blank so I waited until it reloaded again, I got the first 4 number of the tracking number and I switched to the UPS website, guess what the page was blank , so I waited until the UPS website reloaded to write the first 4 number, I went back to the website with the tracking number to get the next 4 numbers and guess what, yes of course the page was blank again, so I waited again to get the next 4 numbers and switched to the UPS website that of course was blank again and when the website reloaded the first 4 number dissapeared, so after wasting more than 10 minutes I couldn't get the information of the package, I had to wait until I got to home to check it on my computer.
For example if you use a computer and you open more than 1 website at the same time, the first page doesn't reload or goes blank like in the iphone, I really hope they fix this issue in the next update.
