Red Dot on photos in browser

The red dot showing number of times a photo has been placed in a book, which appears in the corner of the photos in the browser is no longer showing. I can't find out why or how to get it back. Help will be appreciated.

Hi, sorry for this newbie question, have never used iPhoto and need to know if I can use it to place a red dot on a part of any photo. ???
I am posting some pictures on a gardening forum. Trying to identify a certain type of tree. There are many trees in each photo so they suggested putting a red dot on the tree I'm targeting so they can see what the heck to ID. Can I do this?
Can I take a photo on my desktop and put it in iPhoto and use that software to place a red dot on a particular tree in the photo, then have iPhoto save that photo with the red dot, then upload it to photobucket where I can paste it into the forum so the tree will finally be identified?
And if iPhoto will do this, how? What steps do I take?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
No, iPhoto won't do this for you. It's a photo organiser, you need an image editor.
Check out Acorn, Photoshop Elements or Seashore. There are many others. Search on MacUpdate.
If you don't normally use iPhoto then leave it put of the mix. Use the Editor to mark the pic, then upload to wherever using your Web browser as you normally would.

Why do my saved / exported photos out of Lightroom have a little red dot on them?

My edited photos in Lightroom look great. But once I export them and take a look with another program (Photo Mechanic or Previewer), I see a little red dot on the photos.
I have the latest version of Lightroom downloaded (5.7) and have tried restarting the program and re-exporting the photos but no dice.
After further investigation via Google, I think this red dot is a "hot pixel" as it is showing up in every photo in the same spot. Apparently this is caused by my camera sensor but I'm confused by this as my RAW files do not show the red dot, only when the photos have been converted to JPGs can you see it. Stumped.

Please show us a screen capture.

How do i remove the red dotted border around links?

On several websites (Facebook, Twitter, Hootsuite, etc) any link is outlined by a red dotted border. I don't know if I inadvertently changed a setting but it never was like this before and I can't figure out how to disable the dotted border from showing.
Any help?

There are browser.display.focus* prefs that you can check on the <b>about:config</b> page to see if the have the default value.

Red dotted line appear on the screen

There is a red dotted horizontal line will occasionally appear on the playbook's screen while I'm browse the web. It will stay there for from seconds to minutes. That only appear with the browser app and happen once on the Pictures app. Seems like a software problems? Or hardware( stuck pixies)?
Anyone gets clue about what is this thing about?
Updated: Just found out there are blue dotted line as well.

I am creating an application that could possibly identify and fix your issue. Based on the pictures, it could be one of three things
Dead Pixels
Misbehaving Pixels
Hardware/Screen defect
The app will try to solve 1 & 2 by cycling through all the pixels using an algorithm I made. Hopefully this will fix.

The red dot usually means it's in video mode and that red dot is a simulation of a normal video camera's red record button. If you are on photo mode you can zoom in by putting 2 fingers on the screen and spreading htem out (just like you'd zoom on a website)
but it's a digital zoom, not an optical zoom...so it's really the same as zooming in on the finished photo. Your image will be lower quality if you zoom in. (the iPad camera is mediocre at best to begin with)

I retned a movie from Itunes using my I phone; however, I can't see the movie listed under videos, nor does it appear in my I tunes library on my laptop. on my itunes store app, there is a "1" inside the red dot that is blinking.

ah, ok yes i did do that last night. I just did it again and relized that ther is a "Downloads" tab. I selected it and stated that there was a download error. I'm currently retrying it now. and it is now showing in my videos.

How do I remove red dot update from App Store icon

I just updated nine iPhone apps via iTunes during a recent sync of my iPhone (5s OSv8.1.2). Update and sync both went fine without a hitch. However, the App Store icon on my iPhone still has a red notification dot with a number 9. I've gone into the app, selected Updates, and noticed that all nine apps are listed there with an "Open" box next to them. I've opened each app and each works fine. I've powered off the phone; same problem.
How do I remove the red dot notification next to the App Store app?

Hello, I finally went to the App Store support who rang me back and went through it. It seems that Mountain Lion will not operate iPhoto 9.3.2, you have to have 9.4.2. So trashed the application in my Applications folder (which has cleared my App Store of the hanging iPhoto updater) and they signposted me to the download for 9.4.2 (mind you it is taking hours to download!!) I live in hope that this will fix it. If it doesn't I'll let you know!

Contact your carrier. Voice Mail is a carrier function, and setup and management differs from carrier to carrier.

Red line with matching red dot imovie 11

Hi All,
I'm just getting to know iMovie 11 and am now only baffled by a few things.. One of which is this red vertical line with a red dot that I sometimes make appear on the timeline... I'm not sure what it's for but would love to know! I've tried searching online to figure it out but I assume because I don't know what it's called, it's very hard to find anything about it...
Does anyone know what I mean and can you point me in the right direction of where to find out what it is and how it's used?

I found a work around... If you copy and paste the video files into the events folder it adds them when you create a new project. I'm not really happy about doing it this way, but at least I can finish editing my clips

What is the process for connecting ethernet. Have ethernet cable connected to stereo received for internet radio and Blue Ray. However Network System Preferences indicates ethernet not connected and has red dot to left. Note Airport wireless is working.

It worked for me finally. I took out the DNS numbers in airport admin utility, and restarted the airport express. I do not remember putting the DNS numbers in, I wonder from where the airport express got those numbers.
After restarting, it worked.

If you did that already and looked at your recent calls and the red dot doesn't disappear then try rebooting the phone. Hold down the Sleep and the Home buttons until the Apple logo displays on the screen.
