Red Flashing Light on ImageCLASS8280Cw

I've just unpacked my MF8280Cw, pulled the strips from the cartridges, and added paper to the paper drawer.   The red error light continues to flash - all this prior to attempting to connect the printer to a PC.
There doesn't appear to be a paper jam.  I've removed the tray, re-inserted it and rebooted the printer several times.
I then plugged the printer to the laptop via USB cable but the Windows8 PC didn't recognize a printer.
Are there any other things to check for, or did I get a dud?
Thanks for your time.
Patrick

I took another attempt at getting the printer to work today.  I powered it up, and stepped through the setup menu.  After completing the menu options I now receive the following error message:
"Remove tabs/pieces of tape from the toner cartridge.  Black(K)
I had, of course already removed the tape by pulling out the orange ring.  Any thoughts?

Today my touch screen on my bb torch 9800 wouldnt work, I did a battery pull and now my phone wont switch back on. the screen is black and there is a red flashing light.
I have had my bb neary 18 months and never had a prob before.
Can you advise what i should do next,

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Put your BB onto a known-good wall charger for 2 hours, and do not touch it. Then, with it still on that charger, remove the battery, leaving it out for 5 minutes (with the BB still on that charger!). Put the battery back in. If it boots up, leave it alone (still on the charger) for 5 hours to see if it will fully charge and function again.
    Good luck!

You may have discovered by now:
"Red Blinking The battery is critically low."
Leave it plugged in for a while.
The LED can be Green, Green/Yellow which the book calls Amber, or Red.

  • BT Broadband - Red Flashing Light on Home Hub and ...

(Posting on behalf of a friend).
    Good morning,
Having recently got a the latest home hub (recieved as part of upgrade to broadband package) I currently do not have a working broadband connection. Have been unable to get BT on the phone so posting here (hopefully for a resolution).
The Homehub 5 goes through its start up procedure then goe straight to a flashing red light. It has been installed just over a month and was working at the start of this time.
We have tried leaving it to cool down, removing the phones so only the broadband is plugged in and even resetiing it through the procedure identified in the help documentation. Each time, the same result.... flashing red light!
According to the BT website, the flashing red broadband light means probelm with the broadband line. Is there anything we can do on our end or should we try BT again?
    Thanks in advance,
    K.

  • HELP Needed ASAP! Curve Not Turning On, Red Flashing Lights!

    Hi,
I have a Blackberry curve 8310. I plugged my curve into my mac to do a software update. Midway through, my phone shut off and hasn't worked since. The battery is fully charged. The phone is off and won't turn on. Additionally, there is a red LED light blinking twice every few seconds. I think I found an article on blackberry.com's knowledge database that diagnosed my issue, but my problem now is that because the curve isn't turning on/off, it's not connecting to my mac's desktop manager. So I can't do anything the article tells me to do. What should I do now? I need help ASAP!
Here's the link to the article: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB19915
    Thanks in advanced!

Hello Asmro and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
It can take up to 30 minutes for the Mac to connect to the BlackBerry.
I would remove your battery and connect to the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. Once it comes up there is no software installed, re-insert the battery and follow the article KB19915.
Let me know how you make out.

i was able to remove the old security Policy using Jl_Cmder (which worked great) and i got rid of the firewall issue as well.

Now my device seems to be hosed.  All it does is flash the red light two times every 2 seconds.
When i connect the device to my PC device manager sees the smartphone connect on the USB hub, but the device manager never seems to find the device.

  • Red flashing light on device

My Curve 8520 will not switch on today and the red message indicator light flashes once then rapidly 4 times then stops for a few secs then starts again. It looks like a morse code signal. Any ideas please?
    Solved!

Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for about five minutes, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.

  • Red flashing light

Hi I recently purchased a new shuffle and for the past week it has worked fine. Recently (after downloading new music and charging it) I attempted to turn it on only to have the LED flash red a few times, making a strange noise, then doing nothing at all (no music).
It wouldn't work after toying with the power switch so I restored the settings yesterday, and it worked. Today I turn it back on and the same issue came back.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.

If your battery is dead or near dead, you have a problem. If you follow these instructions you may be able to make a recovery but it will take some time. The charger is controlled by software. The software will not run because the battery voltage is too low. When the battery is too low and you turn on the PB, It will only run for about 4 minutes and then shut down again. During this 4 minutes, the charger will begin charging but since the battery voltage is still too low, the unit will shut down again and the charger will shut off. To get the voltage up sufficiently for the PB To continue, you have to have the charger plugged in and every 5 minutes or so, you have to hold the power button on until the red light flashes then release it.It will once again recharge for 4 minutes. You may have to repeat these steps at least 10 times. Once the voltage gets up a bit, the charger should stay on but it will takes 6 hours to fully recharge the battery. When your charger is charging, it will feel warm to the touch so check it often to see if it is in fact charging.
One other note, I did not write the software for the PB, I am trying to help you recover from a bad situation. If your PB recovers, don't let the battery go dead again. You will receive a message on your screen informing you to connect your charger when the battery power drops to a low level. Please follow those directions. Have a good day and a better one if the PB Recovers. Please report back on your success or failure.

  • Red flashing light and nothing else

My blackberry curve 9360 kept restarting then having a white background with app error 200. And now it has stopped that and nothing will appear on the screen and the led light just keeps flashing red what could I do to fix this?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
To add to the above all-too-brief instructions, here is the official KB concerning the "200" error:
KB30100 "JVM 200" appears on the BlackBerry smartphone
But, what is likely now the problem is that your battery has run down flat, and you can't attempt any recovery until that is first remedied. So please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    Remove the battery
    Wait 15 minutes
    Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain a known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem.
Good luck and let us know!

  • My power mac G5 won't boot up but has red flashing light and intense fan noise.

I Have a Power Mac G5 that flashes a red light that I've never seen before. There is nothing on the monitor and the fan noise is incredible.
HAs anyone ever had this problem?

    Hi Michael,
It's normal for the fans to go full speed if the OS won't load to handle them.
Where is this red light, on the logic board, or front panel?
Can you count the beeps or flashes?
1 beep = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)
5 beeps = processor is not usable
In addition to the beeps, on some computers the power LED will flash a corresponding number of times plus one. The LED will repeat the sequence after approximately a 5-second pause. The tones are only played once.
Note: In this case, a flash is considered to be 1/4 second or 250 ms or greater in length.

  • Torch 9810 slow red flashing light then black screen

    Hi,
My phone is over 1 year old, so its not covered by Wind provider warranty. its 15 months now. One day, I plugged into the computer, it was doing an OS update, then froze at 30%. ever since, it is flashing red a few times then nothing... complete black screen. I tried it on different computers and even went to retail store and they tried it, nothing. They said its a blackberry OS issue and need to restore to factory OS and let it do update again. how do i do this? I know its not battery issue because we tried other good batteries. help!!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please refer to this official download portal as you proceed. It is sorted first by carrier -- so if all you want are the OS levels your carrier supports, your search will be quick. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To truly seek out the most up-to-date OS package for your BB, you must dig through and find all carriers that support your specific model BB, and then compare the OS levels that they support.
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
From a PC, you can install any compatible (e.g., for your exact BB Model Number) OS package to a BB via this procedure:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. After installing the OS package to your PC, please remeber to delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.
You may also want to investigate the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe it is capable of.
You may also want to try the "Bare Bones OS Reload Procedure" to attempt to narrow down the precise causal item:
Load your OS "bare bones"...if anything is optional, do not install it.
If the behavior presents immediately, then try a different OS with step 1
If the behavior does not immediately present, then run for as long as it takes for you to be sure that the behavior will not present.
Add one thing -- no matter how tempting, just one.
If the behavior does not present immediately, then again run for long enough to be sure it will not have the same problem
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are loaded or the behavior presents
When the behavior presents, you know the culprit...the last thing you loaded.
If the behavior does not re-present, then you know that either step 1 or 2 cured it.
If the behavior presents no matter what, then you likely have a hardware level issue for which no amount of OS or software can cure.
You may also need the use of these tricks:

KB27956 How to recover a BlackBerry smartphone from any state
    http://crackberry.com/blackberry-101-lecture-12-how-reload-operating-system-nuked-blackberry
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:
KB19915How to perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software

  • Macintosh se fdhd with red flashing light

I have a macintosh SE FDHD, and system 7.1 floppys.
My model has only one floppy drive under the screen. When I boot the mac and insert the floppy with system 7.1 on it in the macintosh, it gives de disk back, and the LED from the other drive starts flashing red. I assume something is wrong with the drive, but I'm nor sure.
It's hard to find a good solution on google for this, so maybe anybody in here  knows what this means and how to solve it?
Any help would be much appreciated!
    Thank you in advance

If you have access to a Windows PC with a built-in floppy drive, it is possible to create bootable Mac disks from certain (Disk Copy 4.2 style) disk images via a special technique. One suitable download may be the Network_Access_Disk_7.5.sea.bin:
    http://download.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/English -North_American/Macintosh/Utilities/
Alternatively, the British English System 7.0.1 set of floppies (except the System 7 Tune-Up) can be created in a similar manner. The Disk_Tools.image.sea.bin download could be tested first:
    http://download.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/English -British/Macintosh/System/System_7.0.1/
The special procedure requires the use of an appropriate version of Aladdin/StuffIt Expander for Windows in order to decode the .bin (MacBinary) and decompress an intermediate file to begin with. The stuffit-expander-10-windows.uu from the site below could possibly be OK for this (see the abstracts text file for details; the uuencode must be decoded before the freeware utility can be installed on a PC):
    http://ftp.funet.fi/pub/mac/info-mac/_Compress_&_Translate/
Once a Disk Copy 4.2 style Macintosh disk image exists on the PC, a utility such as the shareware program WinImage could be used to write the image to a 1.44 MB floppy disk.

    Hi Rockstaprince,
If you are having unusual flash behavior on your iPhone and you are unable to turn it off from Control Center, you may want to make sure your iPhone is fully backed up in iTunes, then try restoring it to factory settings and see if the issue persists prior to restoring your backup.
