Red frames when exported to encore

Not sure if this is an encore or a premiere pro problem
I am trying to create a blu ray disc from a video shot in HDV.
I have captured and edited my video in premiere pro and it looks great but I am having problems getting it on to a blu ray disc. I am using premiere pro CS3.
If I export to encore or use the adobe media encoder I end up with a few clips being affected by being replaced with bright red frames.
Now I have tried this on two projects and its always the same clips which are affected
so I have started a new project gone back to the source footage and captured just a clip which was affected and tried to encode that single clip with the same results it gets corrupted into red frames.
The clip plays perfectly well in premiere pro and can be exported back to tape without any problems ...so what is going on

Thanks for responding Jeff.
Its hard to know what has corrupted the frames as sometimes after encoding i get some completely red frames and some whith a little of what should be there showing through.
It happens consistantly on two clips that I have been using in different projects.
so as I said before I have created a new project gone back to the original and recaptured those two clips into my new project and tried to encode them in several different ways but all fail to encode properly.
This is a Pal Project recorded captured and edited in HDV
I used the MPEG2 settings and frame size of 1440X1080.
I first used the default setting for 1440x1080 quality high, with a default qualty of 4 and then increased the quality to 5 without improving things.
Ive tried reducing the target bit rate from the default to 20, still the same.
Ive tried using CBR instead of VBR 2 pass. still no difference.
My machine is a Dual Quadcore Xeon processors. with 4 GB of ram and a Matrox RTX2 card. both my video hard discs have around 50% free.
I really am struggling to know what is wrong.

getting red frames when export from cc 2014.2 codec used panasonic mxf format long GOP 50p. If any solution please help on that

i solve my red frame problem. originally my project was done in premiere pro cc 2014.2 & i render in Encoder cc 2014. in newer version i get lots of red frames. i complain a lot to adobe customer support . they said they know the issues but they couldn't solve. I was so tired from adobe customer support. one of the worse customer services i had. My friend got the mac pro & e got premiere pro cc 7.2 version. i convert all my footage mxf to mp4 in encoder cc 7.2 version and i succeed. i don't get any red frames.
So i think the problem is in adobe encoder cc 2014.2 version. newer version.

Now when I export a program using the updated Media Encoder que, I'm getting full page red frames intermittently. How can I go back to the previous release? I can't wait for the bugs to be worked out.

We are having the same issue at our shop.  We have 8 suites, all are experiencing red flashes ever since we upgraded to 7.2.1.
All the systems are Win7, and we've encountered red flashes with XDCam 35, XDCam 422 and Mpeg4 clips.  We haven't been to develop a workaround as the flashes occur in very inconsistent patterns.
For example, just a moment ago an editor called me in because he was getting red flashes on his exports.  We went to his timeline, and the timeline was showing red flashes as well.  We deleted the clip (an XDCam 422 clip) from the bin, and re-imported it.  It played in the viewer fine with no flashes.  We put it on the timeline and again it played fine.  We exported the sequence directly out of Premiere as an XDCam 422 clip (delivery format needed for the client) and the exported file contained red flashes.  We went back to the timeline and it had red flashes, and the clip in question had red flashes when viewed directly! WTF?!
So we deleted the clip again, and re-imported it.  Played fine with no red flashes.  Put it on the timeline - no red flashes.  This time we exported the timeline as an AVC-I 100, and the exported file had no flashes.  As a test we went back and exported the timeline again as XDCam 422...and red flashes on the exported file, AND the timeline and original clip had red-flashes as well.
Could it be something with XDCam and/or MPEG compressed clips in general?  We've only done one more test with AVC-I (which was successful) but I'm not confident enough yet to say that exporting as AVC-I is a consistent workaround.

  • Red frames in export with version 7.2.1

Sometimes when I export a material appears in any part of the video a red frame. Would i like to know what to do to solve my problem?
I have a MAC PRO OS X 10.8.5 and i'm using premiere pro cc 7.2.1.

    Hi William,
Can you update Premiere Pro to Premiere Pro CC (7.2.2) or CC 2014? That should solve your issue.
    Thanks,

  • MXF decode errors and red frames in exports

Ever since upgrading to Premiere Pro release 2014.2 (8.2.0 (65) Build) we've been having problems with random red frames appearing in our exports.  These errors are always associated with our Sony PMW-200 media files (.mxf files.)  Red frames during editing happen very rarely, but are usually present in our exports.  For short form work re-exporting the sequence will work sometimes, but may cause red frames to appear elsewhere...  For long form work we've adopted a very lengthy work-around to fix the errors after exporting.
Phone support recommended deleting the media cache files, but we've tried that and the problem still exists.  This problem is happening with new media that has been imported since the upgrade as well as old media that we imported before the upgrade.  We're editing with many mixed media files all in their native codec and the only media files that get flagged with decode errors are the .mxf files.
We edit a large volume of work daily and this problem is a huge setback in our confidence with our exports as well as Adobe products.
For the record were editing with Mac Pros that are about a 3-5 years old with OS X 10.8.5 and an Xsan shared storage system.  We have a Cloud for Teams subscription and all our software is updated frequently.
Any thoughts would be helpful.  Personally I would love to escalate this problem to a higher level support team.
    Regards,
    Eric

I have the same problem running Adobe CC on high-end PCs. - My business is smalish, but this leads to having a rather big impact on my confidence.
MXF-files from Canon C300 and Sony FS7 platforms.
    - With FS7 footage I've had the frames appear throughout a clip with perfect distance (16 frames apart) - when applying Denoiser 2 from Red Giant. - The plugin simply stopped the frames from appearing on a random basis.
    - I've also experienced that when the error was present, dissolves became cuts.
    - I've tried to isolate software/hardware rendering, but it does not seem to change anything to select one over the other.
I try work around it by rendering uncompressed sections of the timeline and replace it where it works, and then try again and again. - Very time-consuming and cumbersome.

  • Not rendering - Getting dropped frames when exporting to tape

I am trying to export my project to Mini DV tape. I have been successful before, but am continually getting dropped frames. I noticed that the sections that are getting dropped frames are showing that it is not rendered (red bar). I have tried rendering them several times, but still show the red bar. I am using a PowerMac G5, Dual 2 GHZ processor with 3GB RAM. The footage is on a Lacie Firewire 800 external hardrive and there is almost 200 GB of free space. I do get occasional dropped frames, but not as often as I am now.

Is there anything else I can do? When I get the Warning - Dropped frames, it suggests turning off "Unlimited RT", which I have and set to "Safe" because I was getting dropped frames. Will this affect the quality when exporting? I have set the Video Quality to "Dynamic" and Frame Rate "Full" and Record "Full Quality". Do any of these settings need to be changed? Lowering your compression data rate (I'm not sure what that is), Closing open sequences (which I've done), Lowering the preference for real-time audio tracks (how do I do that and again will it affect the quality?), Increasing the speed of your system and/or disk drives and/or network connection (Is there a way for me to do that?)

  • Keep Red Filename when exporting to QT

I have a lot of Red Footage which I need to trim/color correct in FCP. I use log and transfer window to ingest the footage and then Export > Quick Time to 1080p.
The problem is, I have to maintain the original filename for future reference.
Is there a way to keep the original file name when exporting?
When I export, it ask me for the file name as "save as" and it puts "Sequence 1" by default in. Is there any way to override that and put the original file name in?

Yes, thank you, I know about the voodoo to get things out to Compressor. Must be a sequence in the main sequence folder in the bin to work voodoo thing.
I think my problems are systemic as now compressor will not launch. I have been having nothing but problems since I installed 10.4.10. First all my Office programs would not launch then I actually installed OS 10.4.10 several times rebuilding my system by archive and installing 10.4.8 and then using the combo installer from there. I thought I had a stable system but I guess I will have to revert to 10.4.9 or reinstall compressor or Quick Time or FCP Studio or.......ARRGGHHHH?
I though that the dialog was amusing in the extreem! It wasn't "Sequence has no media" it was:
"No Movie in File" Of course there isn't any movie in the file you didn't put the movie into a file....sheesh. Anyway I'll post again.

  • Captivate 7 not showing the red frame when recording a slide

I've been using the "Record Additional Slides" button since Captivate 5, and never run into this problem: the red frame that lets you define what you want to capture is not displaying. When I try to record, Captivate captures a portion of the software window, and the desktop. How can I force the red frame to display?
    Thank you for your help!

*** By the way, it is happening when I run Captivate from my Apple computer. I just tested running Captitvate on my parallels machine, and the frame does show up.

    Hello,
Just to clarify, the problem (no red frame while recording slides) happens only on the Apple version of Captivate. It runs fine on my parallel machine, however I am running a trial version there. My license is for the Apple platform. I'm concerned because my trial period will expire soon. the weird thing is that the Captivate that I have in my machine at home does not present this behavior. Only the one in my work machine.
    The project resolution is 930px x 697px
This is the 14th module that I am developing for a training suite.I have never encountered this problem before. It all started after the Maverick's fiasco
So do  you think I should uninstall Captivate and start a brand new install? I tried changing the name of the folder but that didn't help much.
    Thank you!

  • Premiere Pro CS3 crashes when exporting to Encore CS3

"Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down.  We will attempt to save your current project."
That is the error message.  I am editing an AVCHD project in which I already converted as an .mpg prior to importing into Premiere (since CS3 does not import AVCHD natively).  This is the first time I am doing this workflow, as a client has given me AVCHD files to work with.  The project RT is 1 hr 2 min.  I need to create a DVD and Blu-ray of this project.
    System Specs
    ~Processor:  AMD Phenom 9600 Quad-Core Processor 2.30GHz
    ~RAM:  4.00 GB
    ~OS:  Windows Vista 32-bit
~Have the most recent updates for all CS3 programs
    I tried:
    Exporting to Encore
~Tried various settings for DVD.  NTSC Progressive Widescreen High Quality, Medium, etc.
~Tried the preset for exporting Blu-ray to Encore.
~Created a new sequence with about 7 min of the project to see if it was a corrupt file; same results.
    Using Adobe Media Encoder
~Used various presets and custom settings with the same result [error message; Premiere "stops working" and then crashes]
~Created a new sequence with about 7 min of the project to see if it was a corrupt file; same results.
I observed the Windows Task Manager when Premiere is opened and then when it crashes.  The RAM is at 1.12GB before the project is opened, goes up to 2.17GB when it is opened, and remains about the same when it crashes.  The CPU Usage is about 4-10% before the project is opened, spikes dramatically (+/- 10-80%) when Premiere is opened as well when it crashes.
I appreciate any and all help.  Thank you to everybody in advance who will contribute a solution to my problem!

  • Green frames when exporting from CC 2014

Hello. I just updateted to the newest edition of premiere pro(aswell as all the other CC software i have installed which includes phoshop, speedgrade, audition, ame, and after effects). So the versions of the software are the very latest.
My computer is late2013 macbook pro with nvidia graphics card, and i have all the system updates installed, nothing special going on.
    Heres the issue:
When exporting the project, i get random green frames, full green frames. Complitely randomly, no pattern whatsoever.
My workflow have been this: Footage shot with two Sony cameras and i have encoded all the materials to mxf format with one step earlier AME version. I started the project with one step earlier premiere, and i have already done 19 out of 23 sequences that project contains, no problem at all with earlier version of ame&premiere. Now i updated to the latest 2014 cc and these green frames started to pop out randomly. I have not used any plugins or effects, only premieres own threeway colorcorrector and bightness&contrast. Parts of the clip have transparent black video as textbackground with crop effect applied and basic textlayer from premieres own text editor. I have exported few grpahics from aftereffects (both the lates and the one step earlier version) to proress 4444 format as RGP+alpha. And im exporting with using youtube SD widescreen 360p settings, nothing changed. Again, everything worked perfectly before update.
    things i have tried sofar:
delete caches both manually and from each software
    normal boot
    pram reset
    safeboot
    update check
export XML from 2014 cc and import to earlier premiere -> no luck, things got messed up somehow
made a copy of both project files, i compared and changed some version number from 27 -> 26 so i could open the project in earlier premiere -> no luck (this worked back in cs6 time when i had to import cs6 project to cs5.5)
Kinda running out of time, so rest of the night im going to spend re-editing those sequences i have done today with newer version of premiere. Will adobe pay for me for these extra hours, i think my client wont approve one extraediting day(night becaus of the schedule, these must be ready tomorrow with no green frames) because of software problem?
Ask anything you want, i'm 100% sure this is not user error since everything was fine with one step earlier premiere version. I will copy&paste this to the bugreport too.
    Thanks

Temporary solution for this was "export xml" after all. I had to disable all graphics and textlayers and delete colorcorrections, and flatten multicam, so i had to redo all grading ja graphics stuff in older premiere after importin FCP xml. But got the work done in time. Won't use cc 2014 in near future unless someone figures out what is wrong with green frames. (well actually now im exporting from older AME, will she if the green frames pops out there too, wouldn't be too much surprised....)

  • Reducing Time of Rendering when Exporting to Encore

Does anyone know how to reduce the rendering time when exporting from Premiere Pro CS3 to Encore? I'm trying to create a DVD of a 90 minute event using VBR 1 Pass and is taking 22 hours to get the job done! I have a 5 GB Mac Pro with 2 X 3 GHz Dual Core Intel Xeon Processors running on OS 10.4.11. Will "Forcing CBR" help? Will it compromise image quality? Any thoughts?

With your machine the encoding to MPEG should be better then real time: a 90 minutes timeline should take about 90 minutes or less. However the effects and transitions rendering can greatly add to this time. Some effects can take "forever" to render. If you provide the effects you are using, we may be able to tell you which ones are time consuming to render.

  • Extra Audio Frames When Exporting Video

Does anybody have the issue of extra audio frames being added when exporting a video. Every time I export, the audio adds like a 2 second handle. Very strange.

The best advice is to tell them their work is coming back non-compliant and you can't have that.  Let them figure out why and solve it.  (That's is part of their job, after all.)

  • How do I select the Poster Frame when exporting to video?

    PP CS6
I cannot find how to select the frame that I want to appear as the Poster Frame in the exported video.
I can select it I can change one by right clicking an imported video OK but not the sequence!
I've been through every menu I can find & even Lynda.com training!
I'm sure that there must be a way but I'm blowed if I can find it!!

There are two common meanings for the phrase "poster frame":
A standalone image on disk (JPG etc) which is displayed by a player before the video is loaded - commonly used by video player apps on websites (YouTube etc), InDesign and PDF files, etc. so the video asset doesn't have to be opened in order for the viewer to see what they're about to watch - although the image is normally captured from the video it doesn't have to be.
An image resource embedded into the XMP/ID3 data of a video or audio file which can sometimes be shown in the player, but is normally set because it  appears as the thumbnail image when viewing the files in Finder or Windows Explorer. It's not part of the content stream, it's in the file header. In MP3 files it's used to store album artwork.
You can create standalone JPEG images from PP using the camera icon below the monitor and can semi-automate the export of a still image alongside your video using presets in Adobe Media Encoder, but there's no option in PP (or via Adobe Media Encoder) to specify the embedded poster image in a rendered media file. Several third-party apps can do it, either during render (Compressor / Squeeze) or after the fact (Quicktime Pro), but support for these embedded resources depends on the wrapper for the video file.
The ability to set a 'poster frame' in the clip bins in PP is solely there to help you organize your project assets visually - for example if the imported footage starts from black, or if you want to choose a frame where the slate is visible - but your choice has no effect on the sequences at export and isn't written back into the original footage.
