    No, you'll need an external editor for the job:
    In order of price here are some suggestions:
    Seashore (free)
    The Gimp (free)
    Graphic Coverter ($45 approx)
    Acorn ($50 approx)
    Pixelmator ($50 approx)
    Photoshop Elements ($75 approx)
    There are many, many other options. Search on MacUpdate. You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.

    A "quick" fix that worked for me was to uninstall Adobe... then download the base install for Adobe Reader 11.0.
    Then download each of the individual updates and run them sequentially.
    I've installed back up to the last security update which is version 08 and have been able to do normal Save As operations.
    You will have to disable automatic updates in order to stay at version 08 until Adobe resolves this issue in a later release.

  • After syncing my iPad2 my color/contrast settings are all messed up. Reds are blue, greens are grey. It resembles infra-red images I've seen. How do I restore normal color/contrat settings?

    After syncing my iPad2, all of my color/contrast settings are messed up. Reds look blue and greens look grey. It reminds me of infra-red imaging. I'm not sure what happened. Can someone tell me how to fix this and maybe tell me what I did to cause this?

    Try going to Settings > General > Accessibility > white on black and turn this OFF.

  • Disk Images Helper Gone Wild?

    I've just noticed some strange behavior with a process called "disk images helper." A little while ago, I saw that my CPU usage had peaked, even though I wasn't using any processor-intensive apps. Upon checking Activity Monitor, I saw that the culprit was the "disk images helper," which was using a whopping 99% of my CPU. I'm not sure how this happened, but I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this behavior and if so, what might be the cause behind it.
    Thanks.

    Also had this on 10.4.11. I had spotted what I took to be an incomplete download - accidentally tried to mount it and it seems to have happened since then. Killing the process seems to do the job.

  • Red images in bridge and cs5?

    In the last couple of months my images have become quite red in bridge and it switches back and forth from being too red on photoshop and then too red on bridge.  I have no idea what the problem is and need help please.

    also, do you have a wide gamut monitor, are you positive you are embedding profiles (and applying them in Ps)
    can you post a low resolution copy of one of the problem images....

  • 1st Generation AppleTv with red images and disconnecting

    Hello,
    My AppleTv has been working with absolutely no problems until today. I went to turn it on and the tv blinked from static to black every few seconds. I pushed the Menu button on my remote to see if it helped anything and I finally was able to see the AppleTv menu, but the images were blurry and with red pixels around them. This also blinked on and off the screen every few seconds.
    I turned it off, disconnected it and left it alone for 5 mins. Then I reconnected it and the issue is exactly the same.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Beca

    One of my original Apple Tvs suffered a similar fate - the menu graphics would freeze, not just movies - a restore back down to the very original software helped a little but that caused its own issues
    Definitely a Graphics issue with the unit itself, possibly related to heat build up. Cut my losses and bought a gen 2 model as a replacement.

  • Extract red image with Vision Builder Automated Inspection

    Hello
    I have 2 camera connected to a CVS and I want to process the images to have only the red part of the images.
    for that I tried to use VBAI but I din't sucess, I think nit should be in the vision assistant step, but I already tryed with "extract a color plane" and "treshold color", and when I test with an image it don't work.
    Does anybody know how to that?
    Thank you for your help

    Hello
    I may be find a way to delete everythimg that is not red by substract green and blue with vision assisatant, it seems to work.
    Now I try to extract only little part of the picture, only the part of the picture who are red, for that I created ROIs for some red parts of the images, and I want to record only this ROIs, to reduce the size of the file and kipping the same resolution.
    Does anybody know how to do that?
    I attach my Vision builder code to the message

  • Imaging Help

    Hi I am just taking Java my senior year and I am trying to program a MUD applet where my friend can put it on his website. So far I have taken it one step at a time. First reading in a map, second putting the map into an array, and then displaying images according to each char in the array. The problem I am having is not that I can't display the images but when I run the applet through an html versus PCGrasp I don't see any images. Again it works fine in the IDE. Maybe it can't read the map file when in the html but I would see why? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is my code so far:

    2. download the image as a byte stream by your self and create a ImageIcon object and the an Image from make sure to useCache when you are downloading the image

  • Photo Booth/iChat displays a very warm RED image.

    Not sure what happened...but when I open Photo Booth or iChat or Skype my image is VERY red. This happened all of the sudden. I was using it earlier in the day and it was fine. I've restarted and it's the same. Now I'm repairing permissions and hoping for the best. Any other ideas or has anyone had the same thing happen?
    Thanks.

  • Import Image Help

    Hello, now first, I want to point out that I have absolutely no idea how java works (maybe that's not true...), a noob if you will, I don't use it, but I need help because I have to do this for school.
    Alright, now I use this program called BlueJ. I want to know if there is a code for java to import images from file (c:\...), and put it as a background. here is my code:
    import java.applet.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.image.*;
    import java.net.URL.*;
    // Kazuma Tonegawa
    // Info Tech 10
    // Block E
    public class TermOneProject
         // Draws the small "b"
         public static void main (String[ ] args)
         {    Egyptian sam;            // create the variable named sam
              sam = new Egyptian();    // create the object sam refers to
              sam.getImage(http://www.htmlprimer.com/Images/index/logo.gif);
              sam.makeGuy ();    // Draws the straight bar of "b"
         }  // this right-brace marks the end of the main method
    }  // this right-brace marks the end of the class
    //I tried every thing but nothing works. I have no clue on how to do this, not even my teacher. can someone help on this?? Remember, I want to import from MY DRIVE. Thanks in advance.

    k, here's the egyption class:

  • Printing PDF to HP Color Laserjet 2550Ln result in Red images

    When printing PDF documents to my networked HP Color LaserJet 2550Ln, usually the embedded images are covered in a red hue. This was already the case with MacOSX 10.4, but still continues with Leopard 10.5.2, using Bonjour. Printing the same document (also using Bonjour) via a windows machine (Windows XP SP2) results in a perfect copy.
    Anyone an idea of the cause of this behaviour?
    Regards,
    Gerard

    This works for me, because I'm tired of waiting for Adobe to find solutions: open your pdf document with Preview and print from there. It will print cleaner and faster than any Adobe application.

  • IPhoto can't import RAW Images (HELP!!!)

    Since I updated My mac to the new Yosemite software, I can't seem to import any RAW images.
    It hangs and out of 100 images that im trying to import , only 2 are imported ( for half an hour ) and they are distorted
    I 've reinstalled it and still the same problem.
    I'm using a Nikon D610
    MacBook Pro (13-inch, Early 2011)
    OS X Yosemite 10.10.1
    looking forward for your help.
    Thank you

    First Boot into the Recovery volume (boot with the Command + R keys held down), select Disk Utility and repair disk permissions and the disk.  Reboot normally.
    If that doesn't help try either of these fixes:

    Make a backup of your system and try to downgrade the RAW support to version 6.01
    To downgrade the RAW Support to the last version from before the last update try this:
    To reinstall the 'RAW Compatibility Update' it is necessary to uninstall the currently installed raw support. Otherwise the installer will rightfully say, that you already have the latest version installed.
    If your tests are showing that the problem happens also in a different user account, try this:
    The RAW support files are installed in the System Library in the folder "/System/Library/CoreServices" Folder:
    To open this folder, use the Finder's "Go" menu. Click the smiling Finder icon in the Dock to bring the Finder forward.
    Then type the keyboard shortcut ⇧⌘G  (for "Finder > Go > Go to folder")  and copy and paste "/System/Library/CoreServices" into the text field. Click the "Go" button.
    In the Finder window that will open, delete both the files "RawCamera.bundle" and "RawCameraSupport.bundle". You will have to enter your Administrator password. (don't empty the Trash, so you can put the files back, if need be)
    Download the current RAW support update from Apple's Support Site:
    Digital Camera RAW Compatibility 6.01 http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1777?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
    In the Downloads folder you will find the disk image with the installer. Double click it to open and run and the installer.
    Then restart your Mac.
    However, instead of Digital RAW Compatibility 6.0.1 download and apply Digital Camera RAW Compatibility 5.01
    which is the updater specifically for D610.
    or #2 - Boot into the Recovery volume (boot with the Command + R keys held down) and reinstall the system.

  • Printer prints some PDF objects as filled (but shows borders only in preview). Print as image helps, but not for all computers. Acrobat X Pro, OCE printer.

    We create PDF from Autocad using Adobe PDF printer. When printing that PDF file to OCE printer, some drawing objects are printed as filled (but Acrobat shows correctly - border only). If I open the PDF with Internet browser, I can see those objects as filled as well. If I print the PDF as image from some, not all computers - it prints ok, not filled.
    Please help.
